I visited here yesterday with my cousin because we noticed they had a Groupon deal. The location is pretty good, it's right off the highway and the restaurant atmosphere is dim. I'm not sure if it was the owner or manager but he kept coming to check on us and let us know whenever we are ready to order we will be served promptly. We both ordered the truffle fries which I'll rate a 3.8 out of 5, they were good but could've been better. They brought us out some bread, the bread was one of the less tasty breads I've had and was slightly on the stale side but the oil for the bread helped pick it up by a lot. We also both ordered the seafood picatta which was tasty, maybe a bit too tasty, some bites of my food were a little more salty which almost ruined the food. In any case I probably won't be returning and not because I had a bad experience but mainly because nothing wowed me here. The menu was on the blah side for me and the food was just ok. read more

We went for dinner on a Thursday night around 730 and were able to be seated without a reservation which was great, our waitress was really friendly and came right over to take our drink orders. The menu is pretty varied with lots of different choices for whatever you are in the mood for. Our food came out quick and was really good, the truffle fries are a must try. It did feel like we were being rushed out of there even though it wasn't an especially crowded night. The food and drinks are both pricey but quality and service is good. read more

The appitizers were great - we must have sampled 6 different ones - all had excellent taste unique for the location. The drink menu was a distinctive blend of martini's. The entree's - a few stood out. Recommendations would be for the seafood and spareribs. The dessert menu was also wonderful in both presentation and flavor. The place is beautiful with rich woodwork, a bar that can handle a large crowd, yet now seem overpowering, and the downstairs tops it off with a private dining area and nicely finished bathrooms. Decidedly average on my first go around; I was psyched for this place, as it is so sorely needed in Milton, a town woefully barren of good quality dining. Though I must make mention of the fact that this place has tangible potential, and I think they are ironing out some opening kinks and will be great in the future; I don't often come away from an experience like this genuinely feeling that way. They really did a nice job with the space - it's upscale in a way that it is not annoying for East Milton Square. There's a centralized bar on the main floor, and a visible, open air kitchen in the back of the room. There are some visible heat lamps in the front of the kitchen which I'd rather weren't there, but that's a detail. Apparently, there are another 8-10 tables in a downstairs dining area. My main criticism with the experience was a hiccup with our food service. We waited a full 40 minutes for our second appetizer to come out after we ordered it. The server brought over one party member's salad, then another 20 minutes later, the pasta dish we ordered as another appetizer finally showed up. She had clearly flubbed the order, and didn't admit it or apologize for it. Oh well. When that dish arrived, it was good. Fresh housemade papardelle with grilled shrimp, peas, scallion, and pancetta. The sauce, creamy in nature, was not gloppy, and was nice & light. The shrimp was a single, succulent offering, well balanced by the bits of salty pancetta. The dish was slightly underseasoned, but still, pretty satisfying. For mains, I tried the short ribs with fontina arancini and asparagus. The short ribs were fall apart tender, perfectly cooked and nice & flavorful. Again, there could've been a touch more salt, but that's my only criticism on this dish. The arancini was crispy and tasty, and the soft asparagus was a nice compliment to the meat. Others in the party tried the osso bucco special, the Tuscan brick chicken, and the lobster cavatelle. The cavatelli was very interesting, with a light, lemon mascarpone sauce and unctuous chunks of lobster meat. The chicken looked fabulous, and was well prepared, but slightly oversauced with a balsamic reduction that was a bit too sweet for my palette, though my sister who'd ordered the dish quite liked it. I skipped dessert as I had to be somewhere for a thing, and as I mentioned at the outset, I do think this place will figure some things out and be a good, reliable place to eat in the future. I like what they are doing technologically, utilizing twitter to advertise specials, and I think as they grow they will figure out staffing issues and tighten the ship. Boyfriend surprised me and made reservations here for Valentines Day. He told me they were very helpful when he made the reservation and he dropped off flowers ahead of time and they had them waiting on our table when we got there. We sat downstairs and the room was very intimate and decorated nicely. Our waitress was very pleasant and we had great service. I had the chicken and L had the rib eye. Both were very good. Prices were very high but it's a fancy restaurant so it was to be expected. A very nice choice for a special occasion. read more

My wife and I went to Abby Park for their Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. Well priced at $55, we were hoping for a delicious meal composed of menu items not found on their everyday menu. They should have stuck with their everyday menu. We started with the oysters and sweet onion tart. Both were quite good, although the filling of the tart could have been cooked longer. Our salad was quite good, nothing special except the Cheddar dressing. Our entree however, was terrible. They tried to cook a crispy skin duck breast. What ended coming to our table can only be described as the outcome of putting duck breast in a deep fryer. The outside was well done, inside was raw, and the fat was not rendered properly. Overall, a very sad attempt at cooking a difficult item to cook. Our dessert was a butter cream concoction. It was difficult to taste anything except for butter. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite nice, and the bar on the first level looked like a chic place to spending a night. Perhaps Abby Park's everyday menu is better and the items are better practices, but any chef should know how to properly make duck breast which makes me question it. read more

We weren't thrilled. First of all those "2 person" tables should be outlawed. Barely enough room for our plates and glasses. Second they sat us near the bar and it was incredibly loud and people were practically standing on top of us. Finally the food... to be fair the shrimp and calamari appetizer was very good and my friend probably would have enjoyed her sea scallop meal had she been served it. They gave her the appetizer by accident. We tried several times to get the waitress' attention but even when we caught her eye she wouldn't come over. Finally at the end of the dinner the manager came over to explain and apologize for the mix up. He comped the meal but didn't offer to get her what she ordered. Weird. Meanwhile I had the short rib dinner which was just ok. Definitely had better. The taste was appealing but the meat was a bit tough. Never had to use a knife for short ribs before. I met a friend of mine here for dinner...while nothing was bad, I just thought that it was just 'ok'. Wine list - way over priced, we ordered the prosciutto wrapped scallops over polenta appetizer which was decent. My friend had the lamb chops, which she thought were good - but nothing special. I had the steak au poivre, which was fine, not much else to say. For a bottle of wine, appetizer, two entree's it was $123.00. The hubs and I can get out of the Capital Grille for about the same w/much better food. Great bar, and nice set up - just nothing special on the food. I can hit up Previte's for steaks, whip up some garlic mashed and grill asparagus and it's far less expensive and much better quality/taste. read more

This is a great place for lunch or dinner! It is a little upscale, but not too much so. There are not many places like this around East Milton Square. Good atmosphere, great food, and always great service! My only complaint is that I find the menu to be a bit limited. It is one of my favorite spots in the area to go to lunch or dinner with one of my aunts or my grandmother. read more

I know more people- at least 8- boycotting this restaurant because of their poor customer service. Used to be our, "go-to," but there are so many great new restaurants in the Milton, Dorchester, and Quincy area that we don't even miss it. There are two levels and I'm glad to we were taken downstairs since the top level was loud. I wanted to try this place because I attended a fundraiser where the chef competed with other chefs to create a dish using food items from a local food pantry. I was sad that i couldn't try what the chefs created but i didn't have to be sad! The special that night was the Phantom Gourmet Best Chef dish which was turkey meatloaf, mash potatoes, with a marshmallow burre blanc. I was put off by the marshmallow but decided to try it and i have to say, it was so delicious! The chef def deserved the award at the the fundraiser. my friend and i were able to enjoy a lovely dinner. I also liked the beet salad and will try to recreate it at home. I loved the bleu cheese and pistacchios in it. The dessert was the perfect ending as well. The pineapple carrot cake was on the sweet side. Service was attentive but gave us peace mostly. The bread was yummy and the waiter obliged us when we asked for more. I also like my friend's seafood linguine as it was spicy but not nose-flaring spicy. The 3-star rating for Abby Park describes my experience perfectly, "A-OK". I came here on a Friday night before 6 and the bar was packed. We managed to get a table near the bar and started with a couple of drinks and an appetizer - the tapas plate. The tapas was good but my drink was ok. I ordered a ginger flavored cocktail but it tasted like raspberry, ekkk and I barely tasted any alcohol. For entree, we split the wedge salad and the smoked-salmon pizza. The salad was delicious and I like that they split the plate for us. The pizza was good...the combination is interesting but i don't know if that's a good or not-so-good interesting. hah The decor is nice but the crowd was older...maybe 55+? The service was alright, i felt so rushed the entire night (probably because they were so busy)...but that was annoying. I'll give this another try, but probably on a weeknight when they're not as busy. read more

My steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the side potato cake was delish! i would have liked more asparagus (what is UP with the 2-3 pieces? cmon!!! that's ridic) but the steak was nicely prepared so i didn't worry too much. the wine list is reasonable and they have a super bar menu. my boyfriend and i are in our 20's and live in quincy center.. this is just the type of place we hope will meander down to quincy center but for now we're happy taking a quick drive to E. I don't know what happened to this place. I recall having had great food, above average service and generally leaving pleased but my most recent experience was quite the opposite. Waiter was awkward, three people came over to auction off our meals (table of 6) and the filet was tough, tasteless and covered in burnt black charcoal. Very disappointing. read more

New Year's Eve (12/31/11) was my first time here with a small group. The atmosphere is great and service was on par. The meal was "OK." I wasn't blown away nor did any of my friends oooh or aahhh over their dish. I had the Steak Au Poivre - was a rating betw 2 & 3; my overall rating, I'm being generous here for the service and atmosphere. The menu we were offered was a slimmed down version of their regular dinner menu. I'm not sure why as the restaurant wasn't overly busy. I'd come back here and give them another chance, but I'd recommend other restaurants over Abby Park that you'd have better food and not as high priced. read more

I always drive by East Milton Square so a friend and I thought it would be fun to try a new place out for dinner. Atmosphere wise, Abby Park is a good restaurant if you're looking for a nice night out. It gives off an upscale kind of vibe, but the food was ok. The food was definitely a bit overpriced for the quality.. We started off with the lobster dip.. which is INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend it . And as a tip, the waiter told me to get the lobster pizza next time I go because they use some of the dip on the pizza. I ended up getting the seared scallops for my entree. That was nothing to brag about. I was disappointed by my dish. The scallops were definitely overcooked and the risotto was very heavy. It wasn't a terrible dish, but overcooked fish definitely puts a damper on it. Surprised it was allowed to leave the kitchen, because you could just tell by looking at it that they were ALL overcooked. My friend got the Seafood Fra Diavolo and it wasn't anything to blow your socks off, but better than my dish Service was awesome. Our waiter was so personable and definitely made up for my overcooked scallops. All in all, food was ok, but a bit overpriced for the quality. Maybe I just got unlucky with the fish that night, so I'm open to trying this place out again. read more

My g/f and I like Abby Park. She is a Vegan and they are usually pretty flexible about what they will do to change a dish to meet her needs so that adds a couple of stars right there. Sometimes the food is a little hit or miss and that includes the sometimes awesome truffle fries. A couple of times I had to send them back because they seemed like they were sitting around a while and with these fries it makes a huge difference if they are just out of the fryer. We went there on Valentines day. For the first time we were lead downstairs. On the way down I knew I was going to be disappointed no matter what because one of the reasons I come here is for the upstairs warm ambiance. So they sat us in a room with no windows and all the tables were set with Valentines colors. They gave my g/f a rose which was nice. But it smelled of bleach and the atmosphere was just not what I was expecting or hoping for. It didn't feel like we were at Abby Park. So we asked to be seated upstairs after hearing someone else ask and they lead us up there no problem. Got a high-top table near the bar which was fine for us although I was right near the door. We usually get top-not service as well. read more

Came here on a summer Saturday night with a group of 12. They accommodated our reservation with no problem. We had several people in our group with Celiac's Disease (gluten free) and they actually had a whole separate gluten free menu. Everyone's food was delicious. Wine recommendations were great. I didn't love that I had to park at one of the banks across the street. When I left at the end of the night it was dark and late and I wasn't happy to be by myself down the road in an empty parking lot. read more

Abby Park was truly the best service I've ever had in my life. We went in recently without a reservation, and it looked like it would be a lost cause for seven of us to grab a drink. The manager went out of his way to accommodate us, give us space, and make us feel more than welcome. He checked in on us regularly, the bartender was generous and attentive. We were all so impressed at how much everyone went above and beyond. The service was unmatched. and the espresso martinis were to die for. My family & I have loved this place. My son in particular loves the Steak Pizza. So for his 18th BDay we asked to celebrate where he wanted; Abby Park was his pick. I made reservations via Open Table. The day was (Blizzard '18/March 13) & I assumed the Rez would be cancelled but wanted confirmation; some places were open, others closed. I expected an email from Open Table; none came. A phone call from Abby Park? No. Website update saying they're closed? No. Outgoing phone message; no. Twitter, Facebook update? No. Nothing. I like Abby Park as a business entity - they are always very generous to the Milton Chamber, Rotary and civic groups in town. They have definitely taken a role as a community-minded restaurant, and I like to support them when I can. That said, Abby Park is a liiiittle too expensive for me to support them often. They definitely do have a nice atmosphere, which I like. The last time I went there, my fella and I split the lobster dip, which was fantastic, and the lamb burger, also wonderful. But, once you go beyond the salads and casual fare, the prices leap. I understand that they want to have an up-scale feeling and that they are catering to wealthy Miltonians, but I have found that many nice restaurants have at least a few options beyond salad, pizza and a burger for those who want to have a nicer meal, but don't want to break the bank. read more

Abby park is one of very few decent restaurants in the Milton area. The menu sounds great and the décor is excellent. The problem is of the 3 times I have been here it is always just average. The food sounds good on the menu but always ends up tasting bland. The prices aren't cheap either. They really need to redesign their menu and bring my mouth into flavor country. I love the location and idea of Abby park but there are truly better options. I want this place to workout. If there is ever a menu change I will be back there and update this review. I Have mixed feelings about this place. It would have been a two star if the appetizer hadn't have been so good. I recently received a promotion at work (Yay me!) so we went here last night for celebratory drinks. The prices are RIDICULOUS. It was 10 bucks for my boyfriends winter spice sangria (which was delicious but not 10 bucks of delicious) and it was also 10 dollars for my blackberry night martini which was a giant cup of vodka with a splash of proseco. The boyfriend had to finish it for me. We split the meze plate which had marinated lentils, babaganoush, hummus and muhammara with pita chips. It was AWESOME. Also I was a little disappointed because the drink menu on their website was different then the one they had when i got there and then they didn't have my first choice of a drink which was pumpkin chai martini. Also we were the only people sitting in the restaurant part. there was 30 or so people crammed in the bar. the food prices must have scared them too. read more

I'm so confused by my experience here. I was home visiting and my siblings had told me how Abby park was amazing. So we decided to go for lunch. We walk in and I tell the hostess, who was older, how many people we had. We also had kids with us. So I tell her and she doesn't really say anything? Seemed annoyed that I asked for a table. So she comes back and says "we don't have the space to fit you over there." SOOOO I'm like ok........ should.. I leave? I notice that the restaurant is pretty empty so I point to basically the other side of the restaurant and she said it's for dinner. OK. So she offers the high tables. Well, we have kids so that doesn't make sense. She goes back to the same area that we didn't fit into before and apparently now, we can fit there..? She comes back and says "I have to get the high chairs from the basement now." And by basement, you meant the closet right in front of your hostess stand.. then ok. So at this point, I guess I've inconvenienced this lady to do her job. She just had this really unpleasant look on her face during our interaction. moving on to the waitress... she comes over and her mouth is just.. kind of open and remains open.Eyes are droopy. Energy completely lacking. Maybe... drugs? At least that would be an excuse. She was older as well. We ordered chicken tenders for the kids.. so she asked me to point it out to her. She didn't know it was on the menu. So that's interesting. While taking our orders, she didn't signal to anyone or say anything so we had no idea if we should keep talking or if she's getting it or if she wants us to hold on a second. Doesn't check in on us at all. But I see her check in with other tables. So that's cool. We asked for waters. 4 adults. She brought 3. Her just overall service was so lackluster. Food wasn't even good. Kobe melt was dry and bland. Bbq chicken was ok.. but even then, the taste of disappointment had already filled me up. We left and no one said anything and hostess didn't say a word as we left. So here's the thing, I don't know if they treated us like that because we had kids with us and they didn't wanna deal? It's been a while since the last time I ate at Abby Park. I was invited for dinner this time and was excited. Parking wasn't an issue that worked out as I was there for dinner. Everything came out on time, no long waits and the staff was pleasant and attentive. The only thing as a foodie that bothered myself and my date - the menu and food was mediocre. Nothing unique special. I could see on my guest face that he was disappointed on the choices being offered. The choices were just average. Nothing unique to wow you. When his dish came out, and he ate probably 15% of the dish and lost interest. He didn't care to take the left overs home. Myself I ordered the filet mignon and it wasn't impressive. But I was hungry and so move everything off the steak and killed it. I think Abby Park neess to get creative with its food again. They've lost that edge. read more

This is a really great reastrant with a really nice atmosphere. Not very loud in there so definitely a great place for a date. the one thing about this place is all of the food you can tell the food is fresh. I had the tuna sashimi for an appetizer and the market salad for my meal. The servings are small even though the salad was good I would have been disappointed if that was all I ordered for the price. With that being said, the presentation of the dishes totally made up for the size of what you got. although the tuna sashimi was perfect size for an appetizer. The reason why I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars is because of the price. expect to pay over $25 for one person unless you are not going to have an appetizer and you are drinking water. read more

Have lived in Milton my whole life and Saturday was the first time I have been to Abby Park. I was pleasantly surprised as the food and service were impeccable. Parking is definitely a challenge during peek hours so plan ahead. The overall atmosphere was upbeat but loud, so get ready to shout it out. Waitress was friendly and did an overall good job serving the table. The issue was the food, ordered the wagyu burger medium rare and received a hockey puck like beef paddy. The waitress was quick to fix, but unfortunately the second go around was still mooing and completely undercooked. I assume the head chef must have taken the night off. I will credit to the staff though, they comped the dish and handled with grace. Not sure I'd go back, at least it would not be near the top venues for a Saturday night dinner. We went here for Easter Brunch - $30 for a buffet with several good options AND a free drink included? Too good to pass up... The place was crowded, which was made even more noticeable since the hot and cold buffets were spread out into valuable free space between tables. Our waitress was fantastic and was always on top of drink refills and was very helpful with finding out what items are or aren't gluten free. The food itself was just ok. The omelet station was pretty backed up and by the time it arrived at your table you were left shaking your head at an extremely oily mess. The french toast and bacon/sausage were probably the highlights, which is a shame since we could've just gone out to a diner for breakfast and had a better experience. The cold buffet had some good options, but the rest of the hot stuff like duck, lamb, and steak, were all just ok. I think we'll make the trek back on a regular night to try out the normal dinner menu, but we won't be back again for Easter brunch. read more

We had a birthday party here and used their private room downstairs. Everyone had a great time. The service was outstanding, right from the minute you walk in until the time you leave. We selected the 3 entree buffet. There was plenty of food and they brought more of what was running low. We had the chicken, short ribs and salmon. All 3 were delirious, especially the short ribs. We brought our own cake but we also had the included pastries. Macaroon's, chocolate covered strawberries and puff pastry, yum on all of them. We are looking forward to going back and sitting in the restaurant next time. read more

My parents were in town(ish) a couple months ago and I took the red line down to meet them for dinner. I had heard great things about Abby Park, and the press was right. Sure, the ambiance isn't totally my style, but it's a large space, good bar seating, really friendly and attentive staff, and hello, they have a parking lot! As for the food, it was all so damn good. My stepfather got a burger, my mom a salad and crab cakes, me a salad and risotto. We gobbled everything up. My wine, mom's vodka drink, and stepfather's beer all delicious too.
