When i called for service, i spoke with very knowledgeable experienced employee. After scheduling a…read moreservice appointment for my extended warranty, i received ongoing messages for times and tech arrival. Since they had washer make and model, he brought the right parts. It only took about 15 minutes to repair my 22 year old washer. I would highly recommend Appliance Express. Every business should be so well run and professional. Cyndi in Leander

I was not impressed with Appliance Express. I contacted them because my 3 year old Whirlpool oven…read more(that was in the house when I bought it) kept randomly losing power. I wasn't sure if it was an electrical issue in the house or a problem with the oven, but I started with the appliance. I made an appointment with Appliance Express--they couldn't tell me until the day before what time they'd come out, so I had to allocate the entire day to stay home. The day before they texted me with a time range, so narrowed it a bit. On the day of the appointment the repair guy called me when he was on his way, which was helpful. The repair guy was very nice but didn't strike me as being terribly knowledgeable about our particular oven. However, he suggested that it needed a software update (which required first connecting the oven to our WiFi). He gave me a phone number to Whirlpool support who could assist in connecting the oven to our WiFi and downloading the update. He barely touched the oven, other than to look at the current software version on the display. But for that helpful little piece of advice about needing a software update I was charged $162.36 by Appliance Express. They could have just told me over the phone, before someone ever came out, to try that solution first. I got the oven connected to our WiFi (I'm a retired IT guy and am very intentionally judicious about what I connect to our home network as I'm very aware of the security and performance/bandwidth implications of connecting devices willy-nilly). Once connected, I had trouble getting the update to install. The repair guy watched for a little while and then left. I called the Whirlpool number and they were very helpful in getting it sorted out (it turned out there was something they had to initiate on their end). After the software update I have had no problems with the appliance (other than I think it's stupid that an oven requires Internet connectivity and software updates to function). So, in the end Appliance Express identified the likely problem so that I was able to take care of it myself, but they charged me $162.36 for that little nugget of information. They could have just suggested over the phone that I try that first before they came out.

I had a very disappointing experience with an assistant manager at the Georgetown, Texas Home Depot…read morewhile trying to resolve an issue regarding a washer and dryer purchase totaling over $1,000 that I had been told would be delivered that day. When I called for clarification, the assistant manager was dismissive and unhelpful. She insisted that my sister -- who lives in Chicago -- would need to come into the Georgetown store in person to resolve the issue. That is not realistic and certainly not reasonable for a delivery issue involving a $1,000+ major appliance purchase. She also suggested there may have been an issue because my sister's bank is "out of state." This explanation does not make sense. Many customers use banks or credit unions headquartered outside of Texas. Modern banking does not require a financial institution to be locally based in order to process a transaction. The comment felt inaccurate and dismissive. Additionally, she indicated that speaking with another manager would not change the outcome and suggested there was no avenue for further review or escalation. The message was clear that no one at the store level was willing to step in to reassess or attempt to resolve the situation. Instead of working toward a solution, there was no meaningful effort to clarify the delivery issue or provide assistance. For a $1,000+ appliance purchase, customers deserve clear communication, professionalism, and problem-solving -- especially when delivery is involved. Customers should never feel like a burden when attempting to spend significant money at a store. If this level of service is standard practice, I would encourage others to consider taking their business to a retailer that values and supports its customers.

Purchased a microwave oven combination for well over $4000…read more Paid $390 to have it installed Was told by the sales person who sold it to us that we had 30 days once it was installed to make sure that we liked it. Or if we didn't want to keep it, we could return it, get a different one or get our money back. That made sense. Ordered it on December 10. They could not get it installed until January 21. When it was installed, the turntable from the microwave does not go around. Since it was installed last Wednesday prior to the cold, we waited until the weather got better and we contacted Lowe's today of Georgetown. Told them that we wanted to return this item and get a new one as we did not want to have a brand new item start being serviced We were told that we only had 48 hours to make that decision. Both my wife and myself were told in the store by the sales person that it was 30 days and when the installer came, he said try the unit read the instructions. We have 30 days. Contacted the appliance department and they could've cared less Asked to speak to the appliance manager named Krista, who refused to give her last name or employee number and started out by telling us that it was 48 hours and the sales clerk who sold it to us, was not there to defend themselves We asked the manager what that meant as we were not looking to get into an argument with anyone. We just simply wanted to return it rather than have service on a brand new item. She said she wasn't going to be abused that way. We did look at the contract and way down at the bottom it said 48 hours if it wasn't on a Lowe's charge card. Not complaining just advising every single consumer out there to either record or have them put it in writing whatever it is they tell you because you can't believe them We have said this to ourselves a number of times whether it be on a car, an appliance, a camera, tickets by a sales person who tells us these things and we don't ever check. We just simply believe them. This was the last straw. In the future, we will record all of our interfacing with the purchase of a high dollar item, and if they promise us something, we will ask them to put it down in writing and sign it. We used to feel embarrassed, pressing sales, people on questions and you call into their character by asking them to write it down or the trigger to record the sales process, but we have been burnt so many times. Last time we will buy from Lowe's or anything. There are other small businesses as well as other stores to buy merchandise from. Hopefully this advise this other shoppers before they too, are told something that is not true and they cannot prove it. Something to think about

A4L: A Budget-Friendly Option for Quality Appliances and Service…read moreI recently visited Appliances 4 Less Austin after purchasing an older home. I spent most of my money fixing up the house so my budget for appliances is limited. I'm so happy that I found what I needed within my budget at A4L. I highly recommend this store for anyone shopping on a budget and don't want to suffer quality. What I Loved: 1. Affordable Prices: The biggest draw is, of course, the discounts. Many items were priced significantly lower than big-box retailers, even with the crazy Black Friday sales going on. The reason for the low price is mostly because those appliances are open box items. Some of the items may have minor cosmetic damages such as a dent. The store run tests on them to make sure they are fully functional. Those appliances are under the manufacturer warranty, and I believe A4L also offers warranty. 2. Knowledgeable Staff: The sales associates were friendly, helpful and well-informed about the products. Michael, the store owner, helped me evaluate the pros and cons of each options and we decided on the refrigerator, washer and the dryer that are not only beautiful but also functional for my family's needs. 3. Fast Delivery: The store offered delivery, which was a huge plus for me. What to consider: 1. Cosmetic Flaws: like I mentioned earlier, some of the discounted items had minor scratches or dents. While these didn't impact functionality, it's something to consider if aesthetics are important. 2. Variety of brands: while there is a decent selection of good brands such as LE and Samsung, you may not have as large of selection as those big box retailers. Verdict: A4L is an excellent place for anyone looking to save money on appliances without sacrificing quality. While the trade-off may be minor cosmetic issues, the savings are worth it. I'll definitely return for future purchases!

The people were nice and it seemed to go smoothly. When I got to the store the dryer was packaged up in clear cellophane. I could see the few scratches it had,,,,everything seemed ok. I went to pay for it and they rounded up to $450, I did not say anything, no big deal. The floor help was nice and helped me load the dryer and even got me extra cardboard to protect it. I got home and removed the cellophane and to my surprise my wife said it is used! There was lent in the trap. After removing the screen there was hair and dirt on the inside. This was a used dryer, not just a scratch and dent. The price I paid was for a brand new dryer with some scratches, this dryer should have been cheaper for having been used for no telling how long. If you do business here,,,,,Caveat emptor, let the buyer beware!!!!!!
