I would give zero stars if I could. This company picked up my household goods on June 28 (charged my CC for the full amount) and then decided to split the shipment after it was taken to the warehouse. Long story short i received the second part of my shipment on August 5th. They never asked me if I wanted it split and when I called the office Tamera was rude and belligerent. When I asked for the general manager's name she responded I'm not going to tell you". I asked her to transfer me to his voicemail and she refused. The manager Chris did call me back later in the afternoon and assured me it was common practice to split shipments. I've moved 20 times during my husbands career and I knew that was a lie. He said he put necessities on the first half of the shipment and my late arrival compensation would be based on the arrival of the first shipment. His idea of necessities is different than mine. Unloaded were my Christmas trees and ornaments,ladders and tool box. What wasn't on the shipment were lamps, plates and clothes. Also he complained that he wasn't making any money on the move. I have damaged goods, 6 missing boxes and enough frustration from this company to last a lifetime. I give you fair warning NEVER use this company. read more

We signed a contract with Jason Mash from Aaction Movers/United on 4/25/22 for a cross country move that was to take place in June with a delivery between 6/21/22 - 6/28/22. Our furniture was picked up on 6/14/22 in Gilbert, AZ and taken back to the warehouse. We were told that a truck was coming on 6/16/22 to pick up our stuff from the warehouse and it would arrive to us in Ohio between 6/21/22 - 6/28/22. It wasn't until 6/21/22 that I decided to login to our United account and get the status. To my surprise, our furniture had never left Arizona. I reached out to Ryanne O'Connor on 6/21/22 via phone and no one answered and I again reached out on 6/22/22 via phone and again no answer, so I finally emailed her on 6/22/22 for an update. During this time, no one from Aaction or United Van Lines thought to call us and let us know that our furniture was never picked up and was still sitting in the Arizona heat. After a week of getting the run around and the "we are trying to get another driver scheduled as soon as possible," my husband and I decided to reach out to United Van Lines and spoke with Sarah White who escalated our case. After several more days and no pickup date scheduled, I then reached out to Jason Mills (President of United Van Lines). At that point Sarah White notified us that our furniture was scheduled to be picked up on July 1st and delivered on July 6th by 8am. When I spoke with Ryanne O'Connor on 6/30/22 (this was prior to reaching out to Jason Mills and hearing from Sarah) she notified me that they would be picking up our stuff on July 1st and it would take until Tuesday 7/5/22 to 7/6/22 to load our stuff. Two to two and a half days just to load our stuff was ridiculous; especially since our stuff was already considered late and had been sitting in the Aaction Movers warehouse for 16 days. That is what prompted us to reach out to Jason Mills. It was because of us having Sarah White at United Van Lines escalate our case and reaching out to Jason Mills that anything got done. Our items were finally delivered on 7/6/2022, but to our surprise 20% of our items were missing and many items damaged beyond repair. As of today 7/11/22 we still do not have answers from either Aaction Movers or United Van Lines. The estimate between the missing items and damages total $15,296.96 I would also like to note that when the furniture left our house in Arizona it was wrapped in blankets but when it arrived in Ohio, there were several pieces (including our dining room table and bench that we just had refinished) that were wrapped in burlap. Why would anybody wrap any wooden furniture in burlap and why were our items unwrapped and rewrapped while they were in the warehouse? Shouldn't Aaction Movers have just left everything in the warehouse as was and loaded it on the truck once it arrived? In addition there were also several boxes with water damage and I'm not sure how that happened. In addition we were charged the full amount of $20,598.26 but based on the contract, (item 5 on page 3) states that "If only partial delivery of the shipment is made, the Carrier may not charge more than a prorated percentage of the total." With that said, we are missing about 20% of our items and they still moved forward with charging us the full amount instead of the prorated amount. Also, United Van Lines was 8 days late in delivering our items and per the contract, they were to deduct $100 per day late and they did not do that either. read more

I am disappointed to be providing a 2-star review because most of the team that supported our move were fantastic to work with, however the company in the end let me down. We contracted AAction Movers / United to move us from Scottsdale to FL. We had a lot of stuff to move and bought extra move insurance from the company (proved to be worthless) in case of a major accident on the way. Thankfully there was no major accident, but we did have a piece of furniture damaged during the move that we only discovered a month later when additional furniture we bought for the room arrived and we went to set everything up. One very heavy night table had a side that was smashed and someone tried to hide it or fix it with a big nail. We reported the issue and expected quick resolution as the damage was pretty apparent But in a duck and dodge effort the company refused responsibility as a repair (nail I guess) had been attempted. I wrote back that I was not responsible for the damage or the attempted repair and they need to fix or replace it. I added that it made no sense that I would try and fix something that THEY broke and I had paid for EXTRA insurance on but once again, the request was denied. I reached out to the team that supported my move to ask that they escalate to their management but apparently the company does not want to accept responsibility for a $500 fix on a $26,000 move. I am not sure how to suggest you protect yourself from this shady business practice but know that I won't choose a United Van Lines affiliate if we ever move again. read more

Not a good service company with ZERO communication to the customer. in early Sept we signed a contract for a move with United Van Lines / AAction Movers in Mesa AZ. This move was from Casa Grande AZ to Forrest City Arkansas. The estimate was $28K for a full truck for the move. The trailer was dropped in front of the house on September 20th to start the load. The load was completed the evening of September 21st with an overflow truck. We have high dollar items that we specifically requested and paid to have crated. No one showed up to crate the items. They were put on the overflow uncrated. These items are IRREPLACEABLE. The delivery. After leaving message after message starting on September 27 with NO communication back form AAction Movers. On the morning of September 30th we received a call from the company from Memphis would be delivering the truck that morning. About ¼ way through the unloading process I was asked by the driver for the check. I gave him the payment of $28,869.90 for the "Binding Contract". Within an hour AAction Movers call and asked if I had given the payment to the driver. All they cared about was the payment. I asked about the second truck and I was told at this time someone would contact me. Since this day I have called and sent messages several times with NO calls back from AAction Movers. 10/8, 10/13 Txt to Ryan regarding the second truck 10/1 TXT from Jodi stating that United is working on delivery of the overflow 10/7 Called Jodi no response 10/12 - I texted the United Van Lines corporate office and gave Louise all the information regarding the second truck. No call back or updates from Louise. 10/25 called the corporate office and gave Diane all the information and requested an update. No call back. 11/1 Called and gave Atia all the information and was transferred to Louise VM. I called back and stated I wanted to talked to someone and not leave an message. 11/1 I talked to Louise she had no information except the same message we have no drivers. We are now into 49 days with no commitment from United regarding the delivery of the second truck. The second truck has ALL the hardware that was put in a box by the loading team. This hardware is for all beds, desk's and cabinets. The truck contains the glass shelves for the china cabinets, furniture dollies, air and water hoses and other furniture for the home and all holiday items. The only excuse that we get is they have no drivers to deliver the items. I have asked for compensation for non-delivery since my hands are tied without the key items from the second truck. I've been told that since its an over flow they don't pay the $100.00 a day for non delivery. I found this statement under "Binding Estimates" 8. Failure of your mover to relinquish possession of a shipment upon your offer to pay the binding estimate amount plus the cost of any additional services you requested after the Bill of Lading was executed and any charges for impracticable operations (not to exceed 15 percent of all other charges due at delivery) constitutes your mover's failure to transport a shipment with "reasonable dispatch" and subjects your mover to cargo delay claims pursuant to 49 CFR part 370. This is NOT Reasonable Dispatch for a Binding Estimate... read more

Our home in Chandler, Arizona was packed May 7, with a May 14-19 estimated arrival at our new place in Upstate NY. Around the 12th or 13th, I called to get a more definite date of arrival, and was told I "wasn't going to be happy," but our belongings never left Arizona, had been moved into a non-climate controlled building, no driver was available, and no new timeframe could be offered. We are living our worst nightmare...no guidance, no management to escalate to, unreturned phone calls, texts and emails, and from the nation's largest mover! While I am disappointed in the delay, with the pandemic we've all learned to deal with what is. What I am unable to deal with is the failure to inform us there was a problem, the failure to allow us to choose whether we wanted our belongings stored without air conditioning (and we are not allowed access to them, they are held hostage) so we sit and wait, knowing the damage being done to a lifetime of photos, antique wood furniture, clothes, electronics in the brutal Arizona heat. Here we are on June 1, no driver, no plans, no help. We continue to incur hundreds of dollars of unnecessary expense as our family of 5 packed for the 10 days we were told to prepare for. A couple days late we could handle, now we have no choice but to buy items as needed for regular living. Hard to imagine the C-suite execs at this company would be happy if this was happening to their family. But who knows, the only people that can be reached at the "customer care" line have no authority, no empowerment to make a change, and apparently no point of escalation. Frustrating. read more

AAction Movers - Self Storage Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

A disaster from start to finish!! We moved from San Tan Valley AZ to Wyoming in July 2021. Labeling of boxes the movers packed was very scant, and handwriting nearly illegible. Paperwork was even worse to read. On morning of the move, no one showed up until we called the coordinator. Then they showed up with a truck that was too small. This required getting another truck to finish. They took our household goods to storage which we hadn't anticipated or been told about. It appeared to us that everything had been removed from moving blankets because everything was covered with dust when we received it. The arrival of our goods was later than the window of time given to us. Our move in day was nearly 3 weeks later than first anticipated. The unloaders took the blankets off of our furniture in the truck and dollied things into the house without cushioning, thus marring our living room furniture. Boxes were not put in designated rooms. Movers were calling out tag numbers and going in and out two different doors so we missed a lot of items that were multiples. For example there were 4 camp chairs labeled under one item number, but only 2 chairs were delivered. Who knows who got the other 2 chairs! This also happened with 2 shelves from our TV stand. One shelf showed up, the other did not, although the item number was called out and checked off. The movers unloading our goods and left without telling us they were leaving. They didn't put together the items the movers took apart at our former house as we were told they would. The only one left was the truck driver who stayed and helped put our bed together. As we unpacked boxes over the next several weeks we found a box with no labels or writing at all (possibly repacked in the warehouse??), with glass antiques in the bottom and an iron skillet resting on top of them, thus breaking them. This is just one example of the poor handling throughout this move. We spent a lot of hours documenting damages and losses, finding receipts and replacement costs before we turned in our claim. We moved in July 30, 2021, filed damage claim in Feb 2022 and finally agreed on settlement amount (after many calls, texts and frustration) Jun 22, 2022. We were told it would take 8-10 weeks for processing. It took about 20 weeks to get the check. Communication was extremely poor during the entire move. I would not recommend AAction Movers in Mesa to anyone!!! read more

Our move from AZ to NY was a disaster. The logistical and delivery performance was horrible. The driver/leader was inexperienced resulting in poor communication between him and the other workers. 1. Movers came two hours late. They did not put down anything to protect the rugs or floors resulting on them being tramped on with dirt and grim. 2. They arrived w/o sufficient boxes/packing material to do the job. I had to go to U-Haul to purchase needed material. 3. Because they did not bring garment boxes, they stuffed cloths into any box that was available resulting in many of them needing to be cleaned/pressed. 4. Items were damaged. They broke part of a 200-year old antique spinning wheel, they destroyed a standing lamp, I could go on. 5. They did not ship all of our stuff in one load. 6. The first load arrived unannounced. A day earlier, we were told by the company assigned to receive the load in NY that it was still in AZ. Prior to contacting the people in NY, I had tried to get some info from A Action, but to no avail. Consequently, we were not at our new home, They had to wait over three hours until the driver was able to locate us. 7. I called AAction many times for updates and did not receive any call back. When I did talk to an agent, they did not have the information needed available. BTB, United was not very helpful here either. Their tracking system did not tell me where our load was in transit. 8. They missed the window of when they promised to have our stuff delivered by almost two weeks. 9. They stuffed the overload (the second shipment) into crates resulting in many boxes being crushed resulting in some items being damaged. 10. To top things off, they packed and shipped items they were told not to pack and move. As I said, a complete disaster from AAction Movers!!!! I will say that the driver for United, Arthur Brown who drove the first load, and his crew from NY, and the people from Schaap Moving Systems, who delivered the overload shipment once it was delivered from AZ, were very professional and did an outstanding job at this end. read more

Do not use this mover!!! I've dealt with many movers both for local and cross-country. Wish I had read the reviews before I made the decision to go with them. Great sales rep and office was responsive up until the day after my move. Now they do not answer their phones or return calls. Their head driver was rude, condescending and didn't listen to a word I said. They damaged my brand new home and dented a refrigerator that had been delivered only 3 hours earlier. A number of items are missing also. No one responds to calls or emails asking for a claim form. This includes their main office. This is a horrible mover. Don't make the same mistake that I did!! Update from Feb 8 2020: the issues were not resolved. I finally received a call from the company who sent the claim forms I requested. I sent them back with no response. I'm giving up. read more

They promised a door-to-door move. With no advanced notification, switched from door-to-door to door to AZ summer warehouse storage. AAction Movers provided poor customer service and was indifferent when they broke the contract. After doing so they held my items hostage and demanded payment before our agreement. Avoid this moving company at all costs!!! They will tell you want to hear but will not honor your contractual agreement. During my move I often asked the status of my items and was told that they didn't know for multiple days. I should've read these reviews before booking my move with them. I've moved several times and this was BY FAR the WORST company I have worked with. Was completely underquoted, movers moved extremely slow, and complained the whole time about the move. Our amount owed was almost double what was quoted. And the reason we went with this company is because we were assured it would get done in the time frame we were quoted. I find it super sketchy that you only send 2 people to to a 3 or 4 man move. But what do I know. When you pay by the hour I guess you're likely to get ripped off. read more

We used AAction Movers on January 23, 2020. I don't think I can conjure up enough bad thing to say about this moving company. They were careless and void of any feelings of responsibility the way our furniture and personal belongings were handled. A television was broken...a leg on a chair was cracked away from the frame making it impossible to repair. A granite triple dresser top was broken into 3 pieces. They did tell us they broke it and said we could file a claim. Ten months later we are still waiting to be paid for the damages. We paid the UPS Store $48.64 to expedite our claim for damages. Again, no response. Such crooked, unethical individuals operating this moving company. We will continue to talk to these crooks regarding our damaged furniture. This will not be the last of comments about AAction Movers. Yelp needs to devise another method of critiquing. This company does not deserve 1 star. read more

What an incredible team the 3 of them make. Their customer service was outstanding, the were thorough, detailed and communicated with me frequently throughout the move. I know that theyre owned by United Van Lines but I had read some bad reviews about them and decided to use them because I've always used United and I just hoped for the best (also got the top tier insurance just in case). I wish there were fewer stars to give. This company is the worst I have dealt with and I have used many moving companies through the years. First, they only sent 2 people to pack my entire house, which took them from 10 am until almost 11 pm. I am not sure they could have moved slower. And, to add to it, one of them broke a ceiling fan and then actually asked my if it was already broken.....REALLY? I could keep going with reasons not to use this company. I was told that if my move were to be out of the "Guarantee window" i would be reimbursed $100 per day. This was a blatant lie due to the fact that my shipment weight did not meet the requirement, a fact my moving coordinator knew of. I asked about this again when my shipment was going to be late and the aaction rep confirmed that i would be getting this reimbursement. After the fact they gave me the run around and said only United corporate can do this. Corporate said they couldn't because my shipment was below the weight. So much for a "Guarantee." read more

Disappointing and frustrating working with Aaction Movers. (There's an UPDATE at the bottom of this review). The estimator rep, Dan Schooley was very nice for the first visit, making a good impression and instilling enough confidence for me to choose them over some other companies. Beyond that, things didn't go very well. For one thing, Dan provided a 10-day window for delivery of our items and stated that it seldom goes the full time for delivery. That never happened. The delivery was 4 days past that estimate, making us wait almost a full month for our stuff to arrive at our new place. When the stuff did arrive, I had to file a claim for damaged goods. So that was adding insult to injury, so to speak. I believe it was the parent company (United Corporate) that made good on the claim for those items. While I couldn't prove it since I waived the option of going through the entire list of items (the "bingo sheet") upon delivery, two boxes are unaccounted for. Another frustration was an entire lack of communication provided during transit. I had to call Aaction to ask where our goods might be along the way. The representative could not provide that information and stated she would call me back the following Monday (I called on a Friday). That never happened. I followed up again on that Tuesday and there was still no information available. While both Mr. Schooley and another rep finally acknowledged that I indeed had a claim for the timeline not being met (out of compliance with the agreement) and that I was promised this would be addressed, this never happened. (I was promised a claim form so I could submit my claim...that never happened). Mr. Schooley also felt this lateness was very inconvenient and said he would speak to the CEO of United, "Eric"; I never heard what this outcome was. To date, nothing has happened on the claim for the lateness of delivery (by the way, the agreement stated that the customer is entitled to $100 per day for every day the delivery is late. Mr Schooley felt this was not enough given the inconvenience of missing important items needed; even though we brought some things we would need right away). Because it has been two months since the delivery, I now plan to write to the state Attorney General's Office, Consumer Affairs Division to file a formal complaint. I do not recommend Action Movers for your move. UPDATE: The CEO called me and actually worked out the claim with the Corporate office and the last part of my claim has now been paid. So Aaction did make up a little bit for the hassle involved. So, I am moving up my rating to 2 stars! read more

This rep was seasoned - he gave me invaluable tips to utilize on our move, and some check lists that helped me stay on a timely track. This company is able to cover a complex large move, or one on a smaller scale. You should add this company to your list of prospective movers, because they can also handle the tiny details that everyone forgets about until the last minute. I recently moved home from Arizona to Oregon to spend my remaining days with my family. I hired AAction Movers which is a part of United Van Lines, 303 W Southern Ave, Mesa, AZ 85210, 480-730-5006. I decided on United due to their BBB rating and reputation. I am in my 70's, doing this move all on my own, packing, etc. I have 4 Dachshunds that rode with me in the 2 1/2 day drive, so my car was very full. I had to limit what I could take with me, so I sealed my valuable rings and bracelets in a box, wrapped them in clothes and hid them in my dresser. I know now what a huge mistake that was, but being naïve and trusting I thought it was safe. Two packers came Nov. 1, 2018 to load me. One was tagging everything, quite a job, and the other was moving my things to the truck. I was in the garage when he brought my dresser down to wrap it, but had to run into the house to handle things. When I came back out the dresser was wrapped and sealed in blankets and moved to the truck. When the dresser was unloaded in Oregon it was still sealed. I immediately opened the drawer holding my valuables, only to discover the clothes wadded up, the box open and empty. Not wanting to believe the obvious I took the drawers out to the wood bottom but not one item was there. The guy had stolen several bracelets, including a diamond tennis bracelet, and about 30 rings which included diamonds, sapphires, tourmaline, opals, pearls, aqua marine, smokey quartz, lapis, etc, etc. valued well over $20,000. Including my passport and SS card! I filed a claim with United, it was not even researched, within 2 days I had my denial letter from them. No apologies. The worker is still working at AAction, continuing his felon theft actions. I want everyone to know DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Among the rings were my grandmothers and my mother's rings, priceless to me. This hurts terribly, and I have to live with their actions daily, I am broken hearted. I try to tell myself its only material items, but at my age I planned my daughter and granddaughter would get to cherish these as much as I have. Please learn from my HUGE mistake! read more

My Name is Katrina. I had used AAction movers in October because of the flawless moved I had with them back in 2012. WHAT A MISTAKE!! I had stated over the phone that I had a 5 bedroom home that was mostly packed up and ready to go. When the movers got there, they had automatically stated they were not prepared for this. They spent the first hour huffing and puffing and walking around in a daze. After the realization of work ahead they finally got started. One was a younger man that worked efficiently and was polite in the beginning. The second was an older man that seemed to have health issues, he was the "Team Lead", let me tell you he loved to use the language barrier effect. They all failed to realize I could understand them perfectly. The third was a middle aged man that new how to milk the clock. I know the house was large and each room was furnished, but all rooms had been boxed up and they only had to take apart the bed sets and tables. Everything else was ready to move. They arrived at 8:30 AM and lets say this.... At 11:00PM the move was still not complete. We had moved into a smaller home to transition while buying another home so we had packed up the home, again, starting at 8:30 and not leaving until almost 5PM! The drive was approximately one hour to unload at storage, which was literally a dump and run. I could not see my furniture and the way it had been treated because it was dark. I sat at the unit with my vehicle shining the lights while they dropped everything. Then we drove about 10 minutes to get to the new location. Well they had brought the wrong items to this house and forgot my 3 year olds bed in storage. They brought 2 large dressers when I had specifically asked them to bring one, and you know what they had said to me when I said they don't belong here... Well you are just going to have to pay to make things right, and talk to my lead. As they were leaving my home it was well after dark, and after 10PM they slammed their loading ramp onto the ground and were rude. Well at this point I was pissed! The storage unit had closed its gate by that point and we had items left on the truck. So what happened.... Everything stayed on the truck over the weekend. The "lead" told me I would get it all on Monday free of charge.. Well that was a lie. When I had called on Monday the manager told me I would have to pay for an hour of service which was close to 100$. They dropped off my items, not my daughters bed out of storage and did correct that, but that was about it. I did want to tell you I purchased the best insurance they had.. Paid extra for it.. I am still waiting on things to be resolved an edit is APRIL... This happened in OCTOBER. All of this is supposed to be covered. In the end this move cost me approximately $2,000.00 In the end this is where I ended up... My newly painted home I moved out of- Huge scratch and gash in front door- NOT FIXED. Scratched dented and damaged furniture- NOT FIXED Oh, but the best thing... My practically brand new french door black fridge with freezer on the bottom... dented and huge scratches on it. Oh but they tried to fix it by covering up the gashes with a black Sharpie pen... OH THANKS! Now it has a lovely red hue to it. Several items in boxes have been broken, including my husbands military items he has been given to him from his years in the service.- NOT FIXED OR EVEN APOLOGIZED FOR. The sad thing is.... Many of my items are still packed away in storage, so I am sure to find more destroyed things all because of three movers. I could go on and on, but I am hoping this says enough about the integrity of this company. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would. We had a military move with them in May 2014. It is now February 2015 and we are STILL trying to settle a claim with them. So many things were damaged or lost and they are totally ripping us off on the claim. The person you need to speak to is ALWAYS "at lunch," "out of the office," or otherwise unavailable- communicating with them is nothing short of the most frustrating and inefficient experience I have ever had. After writing my previous review, I was contacted by the manager of Aaction Movers. He asked if they could have another chance, asking if he could personally come to our home to do an inventory and give us a quote. Against my better judgment, I agreed. I told him to be at our house Sunday at 4 pm. Sunday came and went, no call, no show. Monday morning, I got a voicemail from him before 8 am. Out of sheer curiosity as to what the story could be this time, I called them back. He said that he came to our town on Sunday, but he had been given the wrong customer address. He had no back up way to retrieve my phone number or address, so he was unable to come by. Not to mention that when he contacted me, he stated that they take social media seriously, and offered me a $100 gift card if I would remove my negative review on Yelp. I declined.
