My AAA membership card reads that I've been a member for more than ten years. Sometimes I think that means I must have been out of my mind. My latest experience was eight days ago. My car was stuck in the snow half a mile from my rural home. I made it home fine, then made one of the biggest mistakes of the year: called AAA to get the car home. They supposedly check out their providers, but they certainly hadn't checked out this one. They sent "Allstar" towing (or whatever - it was an oversized pickup and they evidently don't have a tow truck) from Jamestown, 40 miles away. With my car only lightly stuck in snow at the edge of the road, these people managed to break the steering column so that the lever is loose and doesn't engage with anything, then left the key on and drained the new battery I'd bought only 7 weeks before, so that it froze before I noticed it. "Allstar" acknowledged at first that it was their fault and promised to come on Monday and repair it. They didn't come Monday, didn't come Tuesday - and late Tuesday I called AAA to see what was going on. AAA informed me that Allstar now denied doing any damage (they didn't suggest how I'd gotten the car half a mile from home when it couldn't be driven), but said my car would be towed (not counted as a service call) by Friday and repaired at no cost to me. It turned out to be a runaround. I finally heard from the service manager, who informed me of the process I need to follow - which is simply impossible to follow with a car that does not run. The FIRST step is to have it evaluated by at least two mechanics. Besides being impossible to get the car to garages, taking the steering column apart to "evaluate" it takes almost as long and costs as much as repairing it, so that means to have it "repaired" twice?? Her last advice, to go to small claims court, is always a fancy way of saying "jump in the lake." She made it clear that AAA is in no way responsible for the actions of its providers. My steering column is broken, my battery dead, my car won't run, I live five miles from town in a Dakota winter, and I am on my own. I would not advise ANYONE to subscribe to AAA. They contract with incompetent and dishonest providers and do not stand behind the work in any way. If one of these incompetents decides to wreck your car and lie about it, you are on your own. Excellent experience. Plenty of easy to access parking. Friendly helpful staff that efficiently took care of all of my DMV needs. The only thing if I had to pick was we could have used another clerk to help speed the line along. Line was not too long so the wait wasn't that bad. read more

I got into an accident with an AAA member. They never give us(both parties) a call from the date it happened to the date it is resolved. I called in to report the claim myself, they reassigned it to an adjuster that never picked up the phone nor they will call you back even if you leave many voice mails. Thank you to my other party hit me that at least he was trying to call in since they need an statement from him, but never pick up, never call back, and never call him to get the statement. We both keep calling and following up for weeks, and still cannot reach of MICHAEL(our adjuster). First they said they cannot do anything further until they hear a statement from the other party, but how can you hear from the other party when you never try to call or pick up his phone calls? Then they told us, he can give his statement with anyone works for AAA beside our adjuster. After many many calls back and forth between me, the other party, aaa, then they finally accepted fault. Again, no call was being made to me at least letting me know that the other party accept liability and what is the next step. i kept waiting and waiting, and calling Michael and still no pick ups. I called in and was very upset that i was never get a call back from AAA unless i have to call in many times. They then shut me up saying "mam, lets move on" really? i think i deserve an apologize at least. Very irresponsible. We have AAA as well, but from this experience, I'm considering of changing my insurance. I would not want anyone has to go through what i had. Very unprofessional the way they handling the issue and helping the claimant. I hope the headquarter see these reviews from me and the others and have a meeting with all these reckless agents that don't provide the services we all deserve to get. read more

Came to this office for first time. 3 representatives sitting at computers at DMV desk chatting about social topics, while only 1 helping customers. Over an hour wait with lobby full. AAA used to be faster than DMV but now not so sure. Will probably cancel membership based on this very negative experience. read more

I felt entitled to make others aware of my experience. The customer service at this location is by far the lowest of importance to the service agents. They are concerned with up selling you the upgraded memberships & services. After reading the other reviews, it's obvious the culture is to meet a quota, not to provide a high level of customer service. I asked several times to process my transaction that I came for & not be read brochures of upgrade options. I was ignored 3 times, proceeded by me asking for my ID & paperwork. Theresa Ferrara at DMV AAA Concord solved multiple complicated issues regarding the registration of two autos, retaining specialty plates from a car sold out of state and obtaining a duplicate title which was never issued. She handled the transactions with professionalism and patience. We were both amazed and pleased that everything was accomplished in one visit. She is a valuable employee! Came in just to pick up my new tags, already paid at another AAA location & had the car smogged. Waited over an hour for something that should only take a few minutes. Walnut Creek's system is much better, everyone waits in line which goes by really fast. It's ridiculous how they prioritize member services over dmv services even if you've been there longer. WC's system of first come first serve is overall much better, will not be returning to this location. read more

Terrible Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been a member of AAA for 35 years and have always taken advantage of being able to go to the triple A office and take care of my DMV needs ... I don't think I have ever waited more than 15 minutes in line. Today I was at the office at 850am and was 4th in line outside!!! They opened at 9 and about seven of us entered and checked in.. all I had to do was pay my registration bill. I was finally called to an agents desk at 941am. 41 Minute wait!!!! It took 5 minutes to pay my bill and leave.... They were all new people working at this new office but no one was doing anything. One lady at the desk nearest to me was paying her visa bill, another lady at a desk by the entrance was talking to someone in Tagalog and laughing hysterically!!! I don't think this was a business call.. another women came running in at 9:21am said something to the lady at the front desk, they both laughed and she immediately went to her desk and started working!!! I never saw anyone who looked to be in charge.. Also when I left there were 31 people in line now and not a one looked too happy with what was going on... Get the point of this??? I will never go to this office again!!! In fact I will be looking into changing my insurance to another company, maybe one that takes care of their customers!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Fantastic service! I went to the DMV across the way thinking that my registration would be too complex for AAA to handle. Was told I had a 90 minute wait. walked across the parking lot to AAA. In the amount of time that it would've taken me to even have my number called at DMV, I was able to clear up my registration needs, go get a smog check and come back to close everything out... drove away with my sticker. She has personally called me 3x to let me know the line is short as I needed to get a new copy of the smog certificate for some stickers. Just paid my first visit to the new location in the Veranda Shopping Center. It will also be my last! Horrible customer service!! The "receptionist " at the front was completely unhelpful and clueless. All I needed to do was pay my bill, all she could tell me was that there were people in line ahead of me and she couldn't tell me how long the wait would be. 10 minutes, 30 minutes, she couldn't give me an answer. What a total waste of my time! I went to the Walnut Creek office and was done in 5 minutes. read more

The phone number just takes you to an automated mailbox, with no option for anything except claims and sales. I was trying to reach the office, but seeing all of the negative reviews discourages me from trying to get over there to ask my question. read more

I've had AAA for 20 years...used it maybe 4 times....tonight I needed a tow...2 hours later I got a call that they were really busy and should be another hour. Thank goodness I had a ride and just went home...hope my car is still there in the morning...don't think I'll need my membership after this... read more

It is as slow as the DMV. The only improvement is you don't need to stand in line. The whole process seems very disorganized. People who came in after me were called before me. I've waited a shorter time at the DMV without an appointment. Last year it was slow also and I thought it was a fluke. Apparently not. read more

I was at the AAA Veranda location in Concord. I don't usually write reviews but this is an exception. When I arrived there I was #16 on their waiting list to be served to register our car. The wait was very long but there were plenty of seats available to wait for your number to be called. Finally my number was called. The agent who helped me was Brianna. She was very helpful and patient. I had some issues with my AAA membership and a recent payment. She went above and beyond what I needed help with. She had the best attitude and very friendly. I have not experienced service by someone like her. The wait was well worth it. Thank you so much Brianna. read more

This has to be the worst mistake AAA has made, opening the new office in the veranda shopping center. You go in and check in with receptionist, she tells you they will call you when it's your turn. It's always packed and they mess up the order you come in, the workers talk amongst themselves rather than helping clients. They should have left it along where they had it before it was great! Need to advertise that your travel agents aren't in office on the weekends. And when calling in to ask if travel is available don't say yes when they are not. read more

We had a great trip to the Hyatt Regency in Ka'anapali. Our agent booked us a deluxe ocean view room with the buffet breakfast included. It was an incredible sunset view every night. The grounds were beautiful and the breakfast was delicious every morning. One note about the birds at the buffet. Don't sit right by the open windows because the birds are pretty aggressive. We sat one seat in and that helped. Beautiful view of the grounds and swans. Our agent suggested a service to get us to and from the airport and they were punctual so we didn't have to worry about driving to and from the airport. Our agent rented a car for us on Maui that was a perfect size and we only ended up using a half of tank of gas, though we did so many things. A few complaints and disappointments. We thought we were getting $100 in coupons; my husbands and I both heard the agent say that. But it ended up there was one for this trip, and one for a future vacation if we booked it within the year. We used the $50 coupon with the AAA agent at the hotel for the luau at the Hyatt Regency. We wanted to sit close and paid extra for that. We got the "preferred" seating", but we ended up being seated in the middle, not up front. We found out that was VIP seating, which the agent never mentioned. So the dancers in the show were pretty far away, with people's heads in the way. The food was very bad; it was like going to a cafeteria line. And I think the decaf coffee was regular, because it kept me up all night. The show was really nice; what we could see. Also, at the hotel, you had to park up front in order to check in. The valet parking attendants were like vultures. They held our car hostage, taking our keys and parking it each time when we asked them not to. Our deluxe ocean view room was not ready, so we had to come back, and it was that way both times with the hotel parking. We were able to use self parking the rest of the time, which was very close to our section of the hotel. The pool was beautiful, and I was able to swim laps while my husband rested. Our agent told the hotel that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the hotel provided us a bottle of champagne that we used on Valentine's Day at the brunch. All in all, it was a great vacation. More expensive that we originally thought, but well worth the extras we added. read more

Well I called in filled a claim , never heard back so after a week I called Chad and he got an agent on the phone who said the vehicle not covered I told him look there was 1 policy I have 1 truck on and one Ij have the truck and van on and j told claims that , they tell me that filled claim in wring policy , so they fixed that and said tow company would be buy then after they look the adjuster would call me. Well they picked.up truck 2 days ago now 3rd day Friday and my adjuster no answer , it's the weekend and j have no vehicle. AAA has communication issues oh and I did call my local claims office last week to say help with almost this, Cindy never called me back.......update they called my truck a total loss and the the adjuster ext.1236088 offered me 3700 when her with comps where 6k and 10k. You would think since the 6k truck has 40k more miles and less options she would be fair and give me 6k , nope not at all she even tried to say my vehice is broken it's not sellable I was like what that's why it's here it was fine before and she also told me to file a claim for tool loss to make up the difference , that was so shady. Update 3 Cindy us getting me her manager so I can get more money for truck, hopefully this works. Or my next step in filing a complaint with three ca depth insurance , they even said her offer was way off and really want me to file complaint read more

In the past I have had good experiences with AAA. This review only relates to this office. I went into their office today to set up a trip to San Diego. All I wanted was a flight and a rental car. The lady at the desk was friendly. She made sure that someone helped us. I went in to the office last week and was helped by someone that quoted me a price. I decided to go book the trip. The travel agent that was supposedly trying to help us today made me lose all interest in using their services. The monsters name escapes me now, all I know is that she had this horrible rash from her knuckles to her shoulders. Watch out for her, not because of the rash, but because she is a difficult person to work with. She began quoting us these ridiculous prices for the trip. She also wanted to argue with me when I asked questions. She kept talking over my wife and I until finally I got up and simply left. Basically I was under the impression that these people were supposed to be helping me. In retrospect, they did. They helped me save a hundred bucks by doing the work myself, instead of bickering with the Travel Monster. read more

Stopped by this office to renew registration. Only one window was open for registration although there were at least three other employees not appearing to have much to do. The woman at the registration window was busy chitchatting with her male customer. No problem but when the chitchat went on and on and on, I got fed up and left. I don't know if she was flirting or what but there was never any acknowledgment that I was there waiting. Have had better service at other offices. It's a business, isn't it? Daneen Diaz has been my agent since 1984. I have home, auto, and insurance on residential rentals. She has always provided excellent service. Over the years I have had several claims for both home and auto. I have always been highly satisfied with the claims process. Once I hit a driver from behind when he cut in front of me. The other driver claimed that I hit him when he slowed to make a turn. I provided photos and the adjuster was able to place fault with the other driver and have his insurance pay. I have a condo that was water damaged by the upstairs neighbor. The adjuster did an excellent job of having my loss covered by the neighbor's insurance. Recently I had a situation with a rental condo that I had no property coverage on but had questions about how I should proceed. An adjuster took the time to explain what I needed to do to protect my property and my legal rights. I also recently had my car in the body shop for a claim. The shop discovered hidden damage from before I bought the car new from the dealer in 2002. A CSAA representative looked at the car and told me to open another claim and have it repaired. I am very happy and also learned that I should not change companies on a car I bought new because if CSAA had not insured it the whole time they would not have been able to know that it was damaged while they insured it. read more

Today I had excellent service from AAA towing. It was almost 100 degrees. My car overheated. AAA was extremely busy on this hot day. The dispatcher told me to expect 45 minute wait on the initial call for help. Dispatcher called back in a few minutes, and said expect 10-15 minutes. AAA came right at 15 minutes!! The tow driver was so courteous , hauled my car home, parked it in the driveway. Just super service. Thanks, AAA. read more

I would rate them with No Star but the website is making me give them at least one star! This is not just against Concord but AAA california, Nevada and Utah where this promtion is going on. Why, I feel they are mislead me and the genral public about their $17 memebrship gift promotion. First time I heard it I thought it was just $17 dollars. Then I find out it was $17 off of $54 normal membership. So I thought I would have to pay $31. Then I am ready to give it as a gift to my nephew for Christmas, I find out I have to still pay $54.00 and that $17 dollar off is just a gimmick since they never mention the enrollment fee of $17 and right before one has been lured in and is ready to purchase the gift, AAA slaps on this extra $17 so you still pay $54. read more

horrible expeirience with AAA i aited for two hours and had to call another company within 15-20 mins the other company came (Tow Bully) and towed my car hoe for less than AAA would even charge me! and i pay for this service i didnt even get a call until i was at my moms house with my car and the nice guy from Tow Bully was dropping my car IT WAS FASTER AND COST LESS TO CALL SOMEBODY ELSE. I give one star because I guess I have to give some however they don't really deserve one star they are lazy stuck up agents that want just easy money my agent is bryan woodland somebody hit my car this January and I called my agent bryan to get in contact with the other insurance so they can fix my car he said I do it my self since I don't have collision coverage I can not believe what I hear I have several properties insure with triple aaa and they are only good for collecting money every year I will look for another insurance that they care about customer a little bit is embarrassing how I give my money for so many years and they don't care read more

I've been a AAA member for over 20 years, and I really like their customer services. I never had a problem with them until recently. This review is mainly for Danielle in the claims department. We were in a minor car accident, and Danielle left us a message about it. I called her back the same day I received the message, however she didn't return my call until 3 days later after I contacted her supervisor in Colorado. Danielle called me the second time at 7:30am about the claim. I couldn't pick up the phone so she leaves me a message, I returned her call at 9am same day. However she didn't pick up the phone, so I left her a message again. She didn't call me back until of course 3 days later. I got feed up with Danielle being so unresponsive. I contacted her supervisor again and requested a new claim adjuster. Her supervisor called me within an hour and asked me what happened during the accident. I told him what happened, and half an hour Danielle called me about the claim. I thought I made it clear about requesting a new claim adjuster. I CANNOT WORK WITH DANIELLE!!! I cannot keep on contacting her supervisor so that she can return my calls!!! Usually AAA is really good about handling situations like this. It doesn't take you 3 WEEKS and counting to handle a minor car accident. read more
