3 years later... I've taken my mother's, my brother's and my own car here several times and they have always welcomed me right in. One of my cars failed smog and the worker advised me on how to clear the errors and to return back the same day or next to pass the smog without being charged for the full service again. Currently here again with my mother's car and once again they welcomed us right in and the worker began work immediately. I can see he's wrapping up which means we were in and out of here in about 20 minutes total. I still highly recommend this place for the service, the speed, and the value!

In California, gasoline-powered vehicles more than 8 model-years old require a biennial smog check for registration renewal. Smog check for cars requested by DMV every 2 years. STAR certified station by Bureau of Automotive repairs (TC 282538) effective Y2016. Same old good service. Fast (out in 10-15 mins) , reliable & good value - $54.75 all inclusive for 2016 mid size sedan. (Did not have to mention $25/- discount certificate on their website when called for appointment. They already include that in their quote ($79.75 minus $25.)) They have 'Tap to pay' which helps for accepted CC pymts - MC/ VI / MX. Note- Fee is due whether vehicle fails or passes smog test. read more

***IF YOU LOVE to be cut off, SCREAMED AT, and F-Bombs yelled in your face from the business you are paying to support- look no further! Wife took our vehicle in for inspection, they passed the functional test and OBD II scan and visual inspection. However, they failed the vehicle because it has a K&N cold air intake, it needed a carb sticker on it with the EO, aka executive order number specific to that vehicle and part that makes it carb compliant. My wife said she would text me for it, and the worker guy immediately rushed her out of their garage and told her to back out, and was very rude to her and discourteous as she had our 3 small children with her. They charged her full price and sent her away. So, other places that are smog Certified in this state will actually take the time to simply look up the part number and EO number and pass the vehicle. This place didn't waste a second and simply told her "I need to get paid and do my job" total time invested was 6 minutes at this place $55... yeah. Complete waste of money. So I went back there with a printed EO number off of the governing body's website, to pass the part and explained I contacted the manufacturer and a sticker is coming in the mail, but I'm familiar with the outlines of the law and paperwork on hand is sufficient. I explained it already passed a dmv physical inspection as it was an out of state transfer title and it also already previously passed smog 22 months ago "as is" without the sticker. The employee said he was going to pass it without the sticker, but he said he won't now because I yelled (which yes, I definitely yelled back at him after he cut me off speaking 3 times in a row and...because well, anyone would have yelled back at that highly inappropriate scenario I'm quite sure- lol, being called f bombs and told I'm a liar to name a few) so he handed me a card to call his "boss" and I kindly thanked him for his incredible bias in deciding to pass my smog check or not, and gladly walked my butt out the door. Never to return. **I will make sure to write a BB report, and let others know this is not by any means a friendly business and is a major money grab. read more

Jon and his team are truly exemplary. I'm an already committed customer - but today I got a reminder as to why. With only hours before launching off for a road trip to Ashland OR, I realized that I couldn't drop my spare tire. It was stuck. Quick (about 20 min total), cheap ($54.75 all in -- standard check, $25 discount from website, and ~$8 CA submission charge), and easy. Waiting room is small, with a handful of chairs, but it's clean and air-conditioned. I'll be back when we need our next test. read more

Needed a smog test on a Sunday for DMV renewal and there were only a few places were open, including A1 Smog. This shop had great reviews so decided to give it a try! I was in and out in 15 minutes. Great, quick service; I will definitely be back! Also side note - if you're looking at the casino from the street, head to the left driveway and keep driving back and you will see it! Instead of informing customers or managing the delay professionally, they continued servicing cars in the other lane while I sat there with zero communication. No update. No transparency. No basic courtesy. That alone is poor management. What happened next was worse. When I asked about the delay, a staff member named Mike came over with an immediate attitude. There was no apology. No attempt to take ownership. His solution was to tell me to leave if I didn't like it. That's not customer service -- that's arrogance. Telling a paying customer to leave because they asked a reasonable question about a 30+ minute delay is unacceptable. It shows a complete lack of training, leadership, and professionalism. I had my 4-year-old son with me and chose to stay calm because I refuse to model bad behavior in front of my child. Unfortunately, the staff member had no such restraint. This business doesn't just have poor service -- it has a culture problem. When employees feel comfortable being openly disrespectful instead of resolving issues, that reflects ownership and management. There are far too many reputable shops that actually value customers to tolerate this kind of treatment. So I drove over 3,000 miles with dirty oil that I Thought was changed - Not Good. 2. Fred looked at my AC in an effort to diagnose the issue. In doing so he removed the plastic caps that are critical parts for sealing A/C system, and never put them back. I found them just sitting on the top of the strut well under my hood. I don't think he was being malicious, and as I stated earlier, he was understaffed that day - but competence is paramount when I am paying full value for a service.

Called up and they were able to take me right away. Took not more than 15 minutes in and out. Great service and I recommend highly.
