This place is a robbery of your hard earned money don't go here even with a coupon it's the worst ,experience I've had with a mechanic or auto shop..I took in my 1990 Honda Accord 2weeks ago and since has been leaking oil (did not leak before..)After taking to another mechanic , they had told me the filter wasn't even hand tight and the oil was over filled .. my accord take 4 quarts and I made a video draining 5 1/2 quarts out .. I even left the handbook on the front seat that would tell the shaft mechanic what he oil capacity was .. this can really ruin my motor .. I will go in this week to ask for a refund .. read more

OMG, what a crappy organization! My daughters car needed brakes, I saw their coupon in the local magazine. I called, he said the shop was closed ( odd, it was early) but the next day they could accommodate on a first come, first serve basis. They opened at 8:00, my daughter actually got up early! When I got there the shop was closed. I asked the guy inside when they open, he's said " We have no one here in the shop. It probably won't open today". Serious???? What a dump. Do NOT go here. I had a coupon and was not given the coupon price. NO WHERE on the coupon does it tell you to give it at the time of service/before it's done. The guy at the front fought me and told me I was given the coupon price & proceeded to take my payment, basically harassing me for it and told me to talk to the mechanic after. Every time I have interacted with their mechanic, he is less than professional in the way he speaks to his paying customers. You would think as paying customers we would be treated with at least a little bit of respect. He is rude and has absolutely no people skills. The coupons are a joke as they find ways to nickel and dime you and and charge you for things not listed on the coupon. It specifically stated $24.95 for oil and lube plus a disposal fee (which they charge $5 for). Somehow I walked out of there $43 later. I asked if I could be refunded for the difference with the coupon and was told no because the card had already been ran. I 100% do not recommend this place unless you desire to be disrespected when spoken to while you spend your hard earned money in their store. read more

I have known Dave for over 10 years and he has taken care of all my cars, from electrical work to smog check to general engine issues. Dave is very personable and friendly. He is knowledgeable, fare pricing and fast service. He reminds me of the days that we used to pull up to a mechanic shop and they will take care of minor problems right there. My motorcycle battery died while riding over the over pass so I pulled into the Exxon mobile grab and go food mart on first street near McDonald's to see if I could fix it and the owner came out and told me to move my bike I told him that once I tighten my ground wire back down I will move and he cussed me out and kicked my helmet and backpack damaging my helmet and when I stood up he reached in his pocket and pulled out his keys and held a sharp object between his knuckles and pulled his hand back as if he was going to stab me. I stepped back and called the cops. He then lied to the cops and said all he did was ask me nicely to leave and told then his cameras don't work. They came out and told me there was nothing they could do and made me push my motorcycle off the property and left. I just wanna warn everyone this guy is volatile and extremely rude. I don't post reviews as often as I should, especially for businesses around town. However David, the mechanic at this shop is a great. He has performed three separate services for my SUV and one for my convertible. Mechanical, electrical, and brake systems have all been serviced on my vehicles; (with and without my own parts). I have always been treated well here. The hourly rate is extremely fair; the estimates have always been the amount stated or less. The owner of the station has even offered to arrange a ride home for me when I stopped in to make a recent appointment for an engine issue. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. In hindsight, I realized this repair shop totally ripped me off. In April 2007 I brought my car in because the driver side window was having trouble going up and down. I explained to both the owner and the mechanic (2 separate people) and they said it would cost $85 just for the diagnostic. I'm sure they already knew what the issue was since they're in the business. Being naive, I said fine. They diagnosed it to be both the window regulator and motor. The motor cost $320 and the window regulator cost $90. It would also take 2hrs labor costing $170. Since I was already in the hole $85, I said fine because they would apply the $85 towards the work. I had to leave $185 deposit before they would start the work. Total cost came out to $700. I picked up the car and realized my window switch was backwards (apparently they ordered the wrong part!). Had to bring my car back and had the correct part replaced. Flash forward to January 2010. My passenger window started having issues coming up. I decided to see if I can do the work myself given what I spent in the past. I went to my local auto parts store and bought both the window regulator and motor for $60 (they price matched an online store). This is a big difference compared to $410 I spent 3 years earlier! I found some instructions online and ended up replacing it myself and it only took me 1 1/2hrs. A big difference compared to 2hrs charged by an experienced mechanic. This was the first time I've ever done this job! In any case, don't go to this repair shop unless you want to get ripped off. I'm fine paying the labor but I don't think it's right for them to take advantage and overcharge someone by that much. The mechanic never gave me the broken parts back so I don't even know what was actually replaced. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give it zero stars and have this crook thrown in jail I would. The sign in the front of the station says FREE BRAKE INSPECTION. I had my brakes inspected, and they quoted an outrageous price with parts I did not need. I refused the service, and they demanded a $45 Inspection Fee. I pointed to the sign in front of their store, that says FREE. His reply, only if we do the work. If not then you pay. Dude, it does not say that on sign. Can you believe that crap? It was such a blatant criminal rip-off, I feel like I was just mugged on the corner. I hope this helps you avoid the same fate that ruined my morning. read more

Friggin' ridiculous!!!!! My wife had an emergency with a flat tire and needed air. California state law (Assembly Bill 531) requires free air at service stations. The guy at the counter argued with my wife and insisted that she buy gas! She had a full tank so they would not provide air, although she explained that it was an emergency. Unacceptable!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS STATION!! This station is a Rip Off. DO NOT take your car there. They have rung my wife and son for so many unrelated repairs. I finally got involved, and they were asking for ~$600 for a repair that would not have fixed the problem after a so called diagnostic. This repair, they said, would have to be done so that they can determine what the problem is. BULL!! I know my way around a car a bit, but had no experience with the problem, did some research and got my hands a bit dirty and fixed the entire problem for less than 3 bucks. Yes $3.00. Two screws which they left off after the last Transmission service caused the problem. I wonder if they left this off on purpose. Also, there is no way a trained mechanic would not see this, after I noticed it in less than 5 minutes of being under the car. DO NOT GO TO THIS STATION!! read more

I had my front brakes pad and rotors replaced in August by this mechanic and, as of December, the rotors have already warped, causing my car to shake when applying the brakes. The mechanic offered to, "help me out" by machining the rotors and said that it would only cost me one hour's labor. He told me that the parts were out of warranty and that is why he had to charge me to fix them. I am no extreme driver and expect that brand new parts should last beyond three months. A total stranger gave me $100 at an Exxon gas station/food mart in Livermore on Saturday. I was stranded with no money, no credit cards, because I had left my wallet in Starbucks back in San Francisco. The manager of the gas station said he couldn't help me. I had no gas to get back to the City, and definitely not enough to drive 8 hrs home. If that wasn't bad enough, the manager was very rude to me, treated me like a criminal, was talking to me with his back turned to me, it was truly horrible. Every time I made a suggestion on how we could make this work, he just shut me down. I had a check book, I could have given him a check, I had my smartphone, to show him my online bank account, but no. The sales assistant was so embarrassed he gave me some of his own cash, enough so I could drive all the way back to the city to see if I could find my wallet. Then Shelly appeared.....I was at that point crying....she asked me what was wrong, I told her, she hugged me and said it would be ok, she went to the ATM machine and got me $100 out. I had asked her for $50, and wrote her a check for that amount, and was so stressed I didn't notice til she was driving away, that she had in fact given me $100. I ran after her car. She said thats ok, you need to get something to eat, its a long drive. Pay it forward. I was overcome with emotion. I got home, found her on Facebook and called her. She is a nurse who lives in Livermore. She told me she had never been to that gas station before, and certainly would never go there again. Thank you Shelly. I am writing to Exxon, the man in the repair shop was either the owner or the manager, I think the manager. He should not have a job, he was so rude to me, he made me feel sick. I ran a gas station in England frr 2 yrs a Total Oil, and never would I have ever talked to anyone like that. Do not go here, there are lots more gas stations close by. This man, I think his name was Greg, should be ashamed of himself, I was in need and he totally didn't give a f--k. I called to have my car smoke check and told them that I had check engine on with EGR problem. They said smoke check not related and told me to bring my car in. They failed my smoke check and charged me $27.95 because the EGR problem. THey knew I would not pass but checked and charged me anyway. read more

had my car smog tested there. they smogged it the first time without any issues. the technician showed me that is had a tire that was down the steel cords!!! I did not see this before, he got me a new tire at a very reasonable price and I was on my way. DON'T EVER PLAN ON RENTING A U HAUL THERE. I called early in the afternoon to find out if they had a specific trailer the did and told me to come get it. So at about 4pm I showed up to rent it and the smog tech that was there said he didn't have time to rent it because he had 3 maybe 4 smogs and closes @ 5:30. I don't think it takes maybe 5 min at the most to do the paperwork. So, I started to scramble to find a 12' trailer at other locations, which most close @ 4:30-5 pm. I had to move the last of my home out that day and thought I was covered until I met Mr. happy @ the Exxon. Luckily I found 1 in Dublin, go there super fast and professional. read more

Beware of discount SMOG Certificate, hidden costs once you get there. I have been getting SMOG inspections for my car for many years so I know what to expect. This Springtown Exxon came out with a $19 plus $8 cert coupon so I thought I would try this place out. After the inspection it turned out that there is an extra $10 charge because it is a STAR station. I have never been charged EXTRA by any other STAR station that I have been using. The $8 cert should have covered this inspection. It is false advertising, bait and switch technique. I will never use this place again. read more

Upon pulling in, my tank showed "35 miles to empty." I got less than $10 worth of gas - just wanted to pay cash for a enough to get me to Modesto - and noticed, while pumping, that the light on the pump where the price usually shows was dark, but that the numbers were still moving. Something didn't feel right with the pump, tho. When I got into my car, I discovered that no gas had actually gone into my tank - even tho I had paid. My tank still showed "35 miles to empty" and the needle didn't move even on millimeter. When I went back inside, the store clerk was extremely rude and threw a receipt at me when I tried to explain what I thought happen. Another customer even remarked how rude this man was. I made a call to the local Livermore Police to report this - so they have it on file - and will file with the local BBB. I suggest avoiding this station and going down the street, where there are many others. I actually went down the street to another legit station on Las Positas and got gas and everything worked fine, tank filled properly. read more

Went there on 2/24 to get my truck smogged. What a SCAM! I understand he was doing his job, but he knew what he was doing and he could have done a visual inspection FIRST instead of starting the overall inspection. Basically, he did a visual inspection and saw I had installed a throttle body spacer on my vehicle which was LEGAL, but I didn't affix the sticker that was sent with the part in my engine compartment. Since he started, he got $38 bucks out of me and failed me on the visual inspection. Now I have to get the sticker from Airaid which it's already in the mail and get my truck smogged all over again. We'll he won't be getting my business anymore! My feeling is, he knew what he was doing and a simple visual inspection up front could have avoided me paying twice for a smog cert! It's called GOOD customer service and watching out for the consumer - NOT SCAMMING them! read more
