I called, and they said it was impossible the two could be related, and did not offer to cure it. They told me to tow it back, on my dime, to sell me a repair or replacement. I later called again and explained that I took it elsewhere where they told me that the valve stem had been damaged. He asked "why did you take it somewhere else?" then "have a good day sir" and hung up on me. This issue required me to walk one mile to my home late at night in February, another mile up hill the following day, cost for tow, and the cost for an extra repair. Bruce's Pit Stop told me that topping fluids is not included in an oil change, which is unheard of. Terrible shop.

I was recommended Taber Street Auto Repair by a neighbor and I am very glad I took his advice. I…read morewas told by a major auto dealer repair shop that my rack and pinion needed to replaced after they had just replaced the steering column. I was already in $600 for the steering column, which did not fix the clunking noise coming from the front end. They told me for another $1300 I needed to replace the rack and pinion. They were supposedly discounting the $600 I already put into the steering column. Basically a $2,000 job. Well, wrong diagnosis! The team at Taber said I just needed to replace the sway bar bushings. I told them to go ahead and replace the stabilizer arms while they were in there. My RAV 4 has 152K+ miles, so might as well for an extra $100 bucks. The cost of the repair was $330--compare that to $2,000 for a misdiagnosed repair. I am also getting the $600 refunded after contacting the repair shop on the original work. Thank you Taber Team and Steve. Fair, honest and reasonable. They have a new customer and I recommend this shop for your repairs or especially second opinions--it could save you big money!

I went back out after 1.5 hours to get a bag and check on my car, it was gone. I told the dispatcher I had a sound check for a show, the parking garage nearby is closed, businesses were mostly closed and no one was in the lot, and had returned to check on it it -- he initially felt bad but then became rude, stating it was $425 and wouldn't budge on price. Keep in mind, city tows are $275. I got there after my show at 12:30am -- just a truck sitting at the gate, no light, no office. The kid there said he was just about to leave.
