It was kind of expensive but it is Mobil so you are paying for the name too. They are fast, but they said they changed our my air filter, and I ended up changing it again not too long after. I'm not saying they didn't do it, I'm not sure. They did do the oil change great, and they do try to upgrade you to other things. Sometimes, it's nice to just go in and get what you want. We don't always need to have other service shoved in our faces, but it's a part of the job. read more

The mechanics were friendly and knowledgeable which made the stop quick and easy. The only downside is the cost of top-brand products. BEWARE, This place will kill your car or truck with shoddy and unprofessional workmanship. My simple oil change and air filter replacement turned into a $2000 nightmare! What seemed pretty routine, when presented with the need to also change my air filter as a mouse had set up house in there went really bad. The technician as seen on the in-house video, removed the air filter and mouse debris recklessly and immediately replaced the infestation with a new filter. He never vacuumed out the air intake from his removal which according to my expert mechanic consultation is standard procedure in such an instance. As a result, while miles from home, I had to step hard on the gas, all the un-removed mouse debris got sucked into my injectors and I came to a complete halt in the middle of nowhere. The dealership said that it was very clear that whoever replaced my air filter did not clean out the intake and it was, without a doubt, shoddy work from Quick Oil that resulted in the $500 towing and $1500 rebuild costs. I nicely informed the manager of the problem and he showed me the video of the air filter change proving the dealers assessment of the problem. They took NO responsibility for the mistake and despite my attempting to address the issue in a reasonable way ultimately they said essentially "get lost". If I could have rated this business with a -5 stars I would. Disregard the one star, they don't even deserve that. Stay as far away from this place as possible. There is a local oil change one block away that is much better. read more

10/10 recommend these guys! I took my car there today for an oil change and for them to check my breaks. They went over and beyond for my car and fixed a couple things they noticed were off. They cleaned my windows and vacuumed the inside of my car out. They were so sweet and generally cared about my concerns that I had. They even recommended a body shop for the dent I had in my car. Excellent customer service! From the moment I rolled up to the minute I rolled away! Im in Ithaca visiting my daughter and she asked me to take her car to get an oil change. I live in California where I am used to great customer service. I have been to NY a few times and the CS has been hit or miss but not at M1. This is one of the few places I've gone to where the CS was top notch. I was greeted warmly, I was invited to have a seat in the waiting area, I was informed my oil change would be done quickly. There was a nice selection of magazines to read. The oil change was done in a timely manner, the process and cost were communicated to me (standard, no hidden fees) and I was in my way. I pulled in here for an oil change and NYS inspection. Pulled right in, no wait, 15 minutes later I was back on the road after oil change. No complaint there. HOWEVER - They told me I needed a $500 brake job to pass inspection. Car is new and in perfect overall condition. I went to another shop, they did inspection, and not a problem with ANYTHING. It looks like the reviews for this place are pretty divided. My review is for an oil change and subsequent customer service. I went in for a routine oil change and everything went fast and smoothly. The prices were reasonable and I appreciate the extra checks that are thrown in. 20 minutes later, my check engine light came on and my gas pedal stopped working properly. After I pulled over, I called the shop, thinking the very recent oil change had been the cause. The owner of the shop personally drove to where I was parked to take a look at my car. He concluded that the oil change wasn't a problem and offered to have his team read my error codes back at the shop. I'm going to need a plethora of new sensors, not something these guys do, but they were very helpful and attentive when it seemed like something had gone wrong. I even got a call from the owner a day later checking in on me and the car. With all the sensor changes that needed to be made, he seemed very concerned that I didn't get ripped off at a bad repair place or the dealer and suggested a person he believed would be fast and fair. Overall, I was very impressed with the whole team at Mobil 1 Lube Express and I will be going there for all future oil changes. read more

So glad to have found a Mobil 1 lube express in NY while passing through Ithaca. Pulled in to get the oil changed on my Subaru Forester and was blown away by the service. I had been going to my dealership for oil changes, but will be bringing it back here from now on. During the multi-point inspection they noticed my engine air filter looked a lot newer than the cabin filter. I explained that I had the dealer replace the one filter during my last change but the dealer wanted $80 for a new cabin filter. That's when the owner, Mike, stepped in and said they only charge $29.99. Needless to say I was grateful to be dealing with an honest shop. went today for oil change. bought my own oil and filter. they took 10min for the oil change and charged me $40 just for 10 min labor. do not go to this place, bunch of thieves no adults to talk to, only a bunch of young kids who don't know what they are doing running the shop.. they wanted to change my brake pads and rotors, winshield wipers, and break fluid, I said no thanks. read more

GO TO ANOTHER SHOP!!!! I came in for an inspection. They haggled me as soon as i got out of the car. First sign to worry was when they reused a cut up plastic bag over my driver seat. I have never in my 10yrs of driving seen that before. Second sign to worry, they warn my brakes might not pass inspection, pulled my car in and the inspector haggled me to get new pads and rotors saying "you need new ones! These are worn down to the metal!" At that point i knew i was being pushed around. He didn't ask me if i wanted to continue with the inspection and he had his assistant call to buy brakes! I know my cars i fix and maintain my cars. He clearly lied in my face! when brakes are low they squeak, when they down to metal they grumble and grind and its ugly. My brakes are half way worn, no noise, these guys are scam artists. He had his assistant tell me that the brakes are done for by pointing to the uneven rust marks. Ridiculous! I grabbed my keys and booked it out of there! Went down the street to another shop and asked for an inspection. Passed safety and emission. Ask the mechanic if my brakes need anything, he said nope just low, soon ill need new pads. read more

Have been my go to for oil changes ever since I started college in Ithaca. Recently had a coolant leak and they took a look at it and had it back to me within ten minutes and didn't even charge for labor. Explained what I needed fixed and didn't try to charge me for anything extra. Definitely recommend to everyone! read more

Basic $15 oil change is $53 plus added fees and anything they can steal out of your car. Insist on a vacuum job and inspection.

Went in for a NYS inpection and found out the license plate bulb was out. Sure no big deal. They tell me it's going to be $10 for a mini bulb (!!!) and I should have walked out right then. 5 mins later they come back saying they are putting in another bulb for $15 each!!! They just upsold me for absolutely no reason and without any explanation as to why I need those. Charged me $30 for what should have been $5. Not going back again and would recommend others to stay away as well. read more

I have been a customer for about five years Moble checks the differential oil pulls the front dip sticks never put it back in. Had to have my car towed home from a trip because it was rolling smoke from the oil splashing all over my .engine. Called the moble place he stated they didn't do it because they only check the back one. He had a staff come look at my car staff stated they would fix my car and they would pay for the tow.Had the car towed to moble got a phone call tow guy saying the owner never said he would pay for the tow.Owner calls me ever name in the book refused to fix his wrong. beware PEOPLE he's out to make a buck and does not care about YOU or YOUR car. I've used this station before and I guess I should've learned my lesson. I pulled in for an oil change. I made a point to ask them to check and fill the fluids. The gentleman "Ed" told me, "they always do, but he would make sure of it. This was the first time the gentleman that approached me had any manners and was very polite. I thought all was great. Until a friend and I decided I should learn about checking fluids and filters in my car. My brake, steering, coolant below the half mark, my washer fluid empty. If they are not going to check the fluids, don't tell customers you will. read more

Went there today with my two young daughters. They broke my dip stick to my oil. Didn't bother to say anything until I said something.They tried to super glue a pen to it to get it out Called some family down to help after waiting 2 hrs. Guy that was there was a jerk. They only paid for a new dip stick which won't be in until wed. . Charged me $50.for a oil change. Said that the dip sticks for my type of car break all the time, said it was a old one. My Volvo XC 70 cross country wagon, which I maintain well, never had an oil light come on, nor burned oil, leaked oil, made any sounds, until a few days after I went for a routine oil change here. Less than a week later, my oil light comes on, my engine starts thumping, and I break down on rt. 13. on my way to work with oil empty and sprayed all over. Now I need a new motor. i visited this location with in the past 2 weeks i was getting a full synthetic oil change on my vehicle. at first it seemed like a good place but when tyler brought me down the hall way to speak with me and get my information he came off pretty rude and thought he knew everything about my vehicle. i declined his services and went just with my full synthetic oil change that he said was 89.99 regular when i first arrived but had a promotion going on with 20.00 discount . after i left i thought my bill was a little high got home and looked at the bill he only gave me 10 dollars off. i wont go back there put a bad taste in my mouth and if you go there i would recommend to check you receipt before leaving! read more
