Avoid. I had an oil change and asked them to check tire pressure. Right after, one tire went flat, I look and see no cap on it. I called, and they said it was impossible the two could be related, and did not offer to cure it. They told me to tow it back, on my dime, to sell me a repair or replacement. I later called again and explained that I took it elsewhere where they told me that the valve stem had been damaged. He asked "why did you take it somewhere else?" then "have a good day sir" and hung up on me. This issue required me to walk one mile to my home late at night in February, another mile up hill the following day, cost for tow, and the cost for an extra repair. Bruce's Pit Stop told me that topping fluids is not included in an oil change, which is unheard of. Terrible shop. read more

Unsatisfied, absurd how only the younger gentleman does everyone job including the bay managers job while he goes and does God knows what and never gets talked to about it because the manager does not physically nor mentally care about the shop , what a complete liability on all aspects you walk in and smell either liquor or marijuana and you can physically see for yourself that only one person truly cares about their job , I am honestly flabbergasted at how older men act on the job like a complete bunch of two year olds not knowing when to keep their hands to them selves , I hope they understand the consequences that messing around on a job is a liability also !! I'm honestly lost for words on how a manager can just stand there in the shop that he doesn't even own and let it go down hill like an avalanche and be comfortable enough to still have a job like the others that mess around or just walk off while on the clock .. its a complete shit show . I feel bad for the younger gentleman that works there who , physically works his ass off and every time I go in there he's the first one to get up and greet every single car like he's physically the only that truly cares about his job and it's sad that I , as a customer points that out and nothing still gets done about it !! Every time I go there for an oil change the older to gentlemen in the bays are either trying to shove things up another employees a** or hitting the poor kid in the nuts and it always smelling like marijuana and the manager does not even care , I seriously hope he understands that what certain employees do is not professional for any business and the fact you can smell alcohol on the managers breath regardless of what ever he tries to hide the smell of it with , it truly does not work !! This place is not professional at all especially when another employee gets targeted by other employees like it's some sick game !! I would love to see them get another job somewhere else and try those stunts because they would be fired in an instant!!! It's Definitely Poor Management!! Definitely not the best you have a manager that drinks daily behind the container and then hides it by putting chew in and he hides the liquor in a black cabinet.. Not to mind you he also trys to rip customers out of money as well .. and he treats the employees like crap !! This shop cannot be trusted. My son brought his car in to have oil changed, and they failed to cap it properly. My son's car engine was destroyed. The shop strung him along misrepresenting they would take care of the damage and misrepresented that they were following up with their insurance. My son waited patiently for a month. The shop did nothing. Finally, after a month, my son contacted the insurance company on his own and within a day the adjuster came and assessed the damage. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. read more

My 10 year old Prius was pretty dusty and my wife got me a gift certificate for detailing at Bruce's. They did clean the dust off the dash and thoroughly vacuum. The vents were even clean. My complaint is that they used muddy water over the entire interior. At first I thought maybe the dirt was just so baked on that it would not come out and also the guy seemed really proud of his work. When I got home I decided to squirt some hand sanitizer on it and rub it in. The dirt lifted right off. I don't know what cleaning supplies these guys use but this is completely unacceptable when it's priced as detailing. read more

Bruce's Pit Stop may look like a small, hole-in-the-wall outfit, but they have been so consistently nice, helpful, professional, and willing to see me as a drop-in that I'd rather go there than anywhere else - unless it's not within their purview. The higher cost of $40.99 including tax was justifiable given the turnaround time; the oil change was complete in the time it took me to walk back and forth to Arbys and finish a sandwich. They don't take appointments for oil changes, but even though there was someone ahead of me, i was done in half an hour. The two workers were friendly and answered the phone quickly. Only downside is i paid more for an oil change than i would at the Monro next door, where i also would have gotten a free tire rotation. He did give the price and then ask if i was sure i wanted to stay, but i wanted to support a local business so i did once. But i will likely save $30 and go elsewhere next time. read more

Fast, kinda friendly, local. Windshield was super clean. Why 2 stars? They didn't tell me that my vehicle would require an extra quart of oil prior to starting & after quoting me a price. Not cool. Would've happily paid it b/c it's required but would've been nice to know beforehand instead of feeling like you're getting bait & switched. Their system didn't even cover specs for 2017 vehicles. Checked my paperwork which said they vacuumed my vehicle. They did NOT. Said they filled additional fluids (washer fluid specifically) ~ it was empty 2 days after oil change. Obviously ~ they did NOT. Guy said he set my FOB (not key) on the console ~ wasn't there...acted like I was nuts when I asked him for it. It had fallen down b/t console & passenger seat. There were 2 empty cup holders to the right of the gear shift. Could've handed it to me. Wanted this to be great, I wanted to get my car detailed. Guess I'll have to go elsewhere. read more

I'm torn between giving this place 2 and 3 stars. What I like about it is it's locally owned, staff/owners are polite, service is quick and price is reasonable. We took our first car here with no issues. Were very happy with the service. I actually had no complaints until we took our second vehicle in for an oil change. I was waiting in their waiting room and I could smell cigarette smoke. I took a peek outside and saw that the employees were smoking while working on our truck. The worse part is that our truck smelled like smoke afterwards. For non-smokers, this was really disappointing and completely turned me off to this place, which bums me out because we like everything else about it. So... if you're a smoker, go for it! If you're not a smoker, maybe request that no one smoke while working on your car. Or go someplace else. read more

I was in the Pit Stop today. The service was excellent. I was in and out in a matter of 10-15 minutes. The only thing I didn't like was that they required my phone number to put me in the system and my debit card ran as credit required my PIN number. Call me crazy but I received two spam type calls immediately afterwards. And the PIN for credit, why? Otherwise, I was happy and if everything works fine, no leaks, missing caps etc... Needed an oil change for a new truck, decided to go to Bruces pit stop because i like shopping local. When I first pulled in I watched in horror as a lady slipped in a bunch of oil sludge that appeared to be coming out of an oil separator that wasn't working properly. After I checked on her they had me pull around to first bay They checked what type of oil, apparently it only uses full synthetic oil. So that starts out at around 81$ but they made sure to mention that was for 5 qts. I asked (repeatedly) how many qts the truck took, and was finally told around 8. So then i asked how much each additional qt. was to which they finally replied 17 dollars! So i said even though i can get a 5 qt jug for the same exact oil at Walmart for 25$? He said yeah that's what they charge. I thought about it for a bit and said i guess I'll bite the bullet this time but with prices like this I won't be back. I must've struck a nerve because the employee started yelling at me that he didn't need to deal with customers with that kind of attitude. Mind you I didn't swear, I didn't even raise my voice. But the next thing I knew i was being told to leave the property like I was being a problem. read more

In and out for an oil change in the middle of a road trip. They got me in first thing at 8am (first come first serve for oil changes starting at 8am) and I was out 20 min later. He ran a few diagnostic on my car and gave me his honest opinion about a faulty tire pressure monitor, which I appreciated. Didn't pressure me at all about it. The oil change was a bit more expensive ($45) but well worth it for speed and nice attitude! read more

This place was the best. I am on a cross country road trip from Texas and had to change my oil. I called another place and they couldn't get me in for a couple of days but they recommended Bruce's. They got me in and out within 15 minutes. Didn't try to up sell me. Showed me how to add my own oil if I needed to on the trip (the oil light had come on because it was low). I recently got Nokian tires on my car because Bruce suggested them. We've had lots of snow lately, and we live at the top of a steep hill here in Ithaca. I'm a home health aide, and I have to get to work regardless of the condition of the roads. With my Nokian tires, I feel very confident even when the roads are completely snow covered. And they're all-season tires, meaning I won't have to hassle with changing them twice a year! Thumbs up on that! And also my husband recently had an interior/exterior detailing job done on his car at Bruce's. Looks like he bought a new car! We're very pleased with Bruce's. read more
