The awful staff/managers I talk about from 2019-2023 were finally dealt with. I scheduled an inspection, was expecting the disaster of every year before, so I made sure to call & check it was in the books. John reassured me it's there, and he'll be taking care of the inspection. Sure enough, he was the lone staff manning the location that day. He got everything taken care of in less than 30 mins. Even noticed something that needed sprucing up & did that service. I could cry. Never in 5 years with this place did they actually do their job well. I hope they give John proper support staff so he sticks around! He's done wonders for the place. 2023 draft (a one-two star review): The men working there had mostly been unpleasant to deal with--some to the point of hostile (unlike the guys over at the Elmira Road location, who were nice. Angel, in particular.) We've been customers at this Triphammer Monro for about 4 years now, and EVERY single time we bring the car in--whether it's for a a safety inspection or service--something goes very wrong. This year, they scheduled us for a safety inspection, but when we took it in at the appointment time, they claimed their safety inspector was done for the day. So everything we had needed that depended on the safety inspection for got completely derailed. If their service and work was really decent, then we could let it slide...but come on.

I went back out after 1.5 hours to get a bag and check on my car, it was gone. I told the dispatcher I had a sound check for a show, the parking garage nearby is closed, businesses were mostly closed and no one was in the lot, and had returned to check on it it -- he initially felt bad but then became rude, stating it was $425 and wouldn't budge on price. Keep in mind, city tows are $275. I got there after my show at 12:30am -- just a truck sitting at the gate, no light, no office. The kid there said he was just about to leave. I asked for a receipt by text and never received a response. I also asked for the contract between the property management co and Kosiken's, no response. They could have written a ticket or put a boot on. This is legal theft & coercion.

My son called me and I told him to tell them not to do anything. When my son came home I inspected the wheel and found that the outer covering on the lug nut had come off. However, there was enough of the nut there that I put a lug wrench on the nut and removed it. Then installed a new lug nut!!!!!! I don't know if this auto center has TOATALLY inexperienced and inept mechanics, or they are dishonest and trying to pad the bill with repairs that are not necessary. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! A very common feature for each review was the service quality, integrity and kindness of Louis. Louis answers the phone, follows up with each client, told me the truth and fixed my service issue. Today my rear brake job was completed after status updates throughout the morning from Louis. The job was completed under the EOD promise time, and Taber auto also completed my inspection. Louis went further to say he would have passed me before begining the work as my rear brakes were within allowable tolerances. Now I will visit Taber Auto for all of my repairs. A wise mentor once told me, people go where they are made to feel welcome and stay where they are treated well. Louis treated me well and I plan to stay with Taber Auto.

After diagnosing the car, they told me both rear EPB actuators and calipers needed to be replaced. I approved the repair and paid $1,124. They later called and said the car was fully fixed and ready for pickup. However, when I arrived, the brake warning light was still on and the EPB was still not functioning properly. I immediately informed them. The next day, they re-examined the vehicle and told me the parking brake control module had lost communication and that they could not fix the issue. They referred me to a Mazda dealership for further repairs. In other words, after charging me over $1,100, the original problem remained unresolved. When the vehicle was returned to me, the brake fluid reservoir cap was missing. The reservoir had been temporarily covered with plastic, and I had to return the following day to obtain a replacement cap. This raised serious concerns about the level of care taken during the repair. I spoke directly with the owner, William Chen, who has been very unprofessional and dishonest throughout the process, about my concerns. During our phone conversation, I explained that I was disappointed and did not want to keep parts that did not resolve the issue. He initially stated that he could return the aftermarket parts (though not the OEM actuators). However, after speaking with someone else at the shop, he changed his position and said he would not return the parts or issue a refund. Overall, I paid for a repair that did not fix the problem and was then told to take the car elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.
