Trapper Dan did what no one else could for us! We had been dealing with multiple skunks in our yard for months. When I called trapper Dan, he showed up the very next day with baited traps. He patiently demonstrated safe handling of them for myself and my husband and walked us through the process of how to check them and alert him if an animal was caught. Everything was done humanely and promptly. When we did catch skunks, he was at our house within 20 minutes to safely take them away. He was kind and pleasant to deal with and we are grateful for all his help! read more

My family engaged Trapper Dan's Pest Control services for a brief period. However, it was the most unsatisfactory experience we have encountered with any business - not just pest control - ANY BUSINESS! Prior to accepting his services, Trapper Dan was cordial and conveyed a positive impression. However, upon payment in cash, he demanded that and we will let the IRS know that he was paid in cash, and once he was paid, our experience with his service drastically changed. Trapper Dan exhibited condescension, rudeness, and a complete lack of customer service. He used derogatory language towards my mother and unnecessarily escalated the situation. Given my parents' advanced age, it is plausible to argue that he engaged in a professional form of elder abuse. While there are numerous positive reviews, our experience has compelled us to refrain from recommending Trapper Dan's services. Instead, we strongly advise others to seek alternative providers. Our family's previous review of Trapper Dan's services remains an accurate reflection of our experience - without exception. Furthermore, our review was NOT about any other company. We stand by what we wrote and strongly encourage potential customers to consider other pest control providers to avoid the kind of abusive customer service we encountered. read more

Trapper Dan resolved my rodent problem. He was reliable and the quality of his work was first class along with being good value for money. We can now close up the crawl space under our home knowing the space is empty. Thank you Dan. read more

A Trapper Dan's Pest Control - The repellent used - Pest Control Near Me - San Diego, California

Trapper Dan and his services are so incredibly above par, I don't even know where to begin. He was available 24/7, he worked with us on a payment plan, he was decisive yet filled with compassion for the animals he removed from the grounds, and lastly, he was a delight to work with! His trapping services are reasonable and definitely a good value and return for one's money. Trapping animals is not a pleasant experience, especially in Southern California where trapping is not looked on very kindly. In spite of this, Trapper Dan was gracious, willing to explain the entire process and how he will go about things, kind and patient, and a really fun guy to work/talk with! He's the type of personality that you just want to add a friendly "uncle" title to his name and sit in the front yard watching the sunrise with a cup of good coffee. His services may be a "necessary evil", but he performs these difficult services with extensive knowledge and knowhow, with a gentle and patient soul. If you ever need knowledge about wildlife pests, and/or removal of said wildlife, please contact Trapper Dan, you will not be disappointed. read more

Trapper Dan really knows what he is doing! We had a possum issue in our backyard. Dan baited a trap and drove all the way from Sea World to Poway within an hour or two. It was successful and he came and picked the possum in the case up and drove him away. I'll definitely use trapper Dan again should we need it! Thanks Dan! read more

A young snake found its way into the bathroom. (Harmless, as it turned out, but we didn't know at first.) Trapper Dan came quickly (and early in the morning, too), was careful and safety-conscious, and was gentle with the snake. It's been captured and relocated to the outdoors, and hopefully will live long and prosper. Dan's knowledge, thoroughness, and fast response are greatly appreciated! That was a very good experience. read more

His service was spelled out thoroughly by verbal interaction and by the contract. He was very informative of what the service was and the actions to be taken. There was no hidden fees or additional costs that were added. The intended capture was to be 3 animals but it has turned out a larger amount than that due to the location of the property and surrounding landscape. I will give this a 2 thumbs up and will recommend the service to others that have the pest control issues that I have encountered. read more

I had a skunk and a possum who decided to take up residence in my small back yard, and the skunk kept spraying to remind us that he was still here! I gave Trapper Dan a call and he promptly came by with two baited traps, showed me where to put them, how and when to set them to ensure we get the pests and not the pesky cats! Each morning that the traps are at your place you call Trapper Dan and let him know if anything was trapped. This is part of the contract. My first morning the skunk was caught, and Trapper Dan quickly came over and took him away. The second morning the possum was in the second trap. I called Trapper Dan and he came to grab the possum and say goodbye! I'm glad my friend recommended Trapper Dan - it was money well spent! read more

We called Trapper Dan because we had a mama raccoon in our attic wreaking havoc about 17 years ago. He came and put the magic stuff under our house and she left! Fast forward to this past week and we gave a new raccoon who found another way to our attic. I called Trapper Dan and he came out again and put magic stuff under our house. And the raccoon left again! He knows his stuff. Anyone having issues with pests of the four legged variety needs to give him a call. read more

Dan is extremely knowledgeable and reliable. He helped get rid of a raccoon family that was living in the attic. I had a couple of big companies looked at the problem and they said they could not do the job but Dan was able to do it. read more

Trapper Dan was recommended to me by a friend and we're so thankful for it! Trapper Dan quoted us over the phone and was at our house shortly after our call. We've been having trouble with a skunk and our dogs being sprayed but Trapper Dan was able to capture a skunk by the next morning and quickly came by to pick up the cage. I'll be sure to call Trapper Dan for any future skunk problems we have. He was kind, great at his job and very knowledgeable! read more

Rude "Dan". Lol Just asked a simple question, and he was being a big smart ass. Not sure why he has 5 star reviews. Don't recommend him! read more

Don't bother calling any other wildlife control outfit. Trapper Dan showed up within 2 hours and worked his magic - 2 days later the raccoon family was evicted from our crawl space! In addition to the predator smells he placed in the crawl space, Dan suggested several tricks we could implement to speed up the process. As a result, the mom left and took her babies with her so no rotting corpses to deal with either. I couldn't be happier with Trapper Dan's services and am so grateful to him for ridding of us what could have been a messy nightmare. read more

A Trapper Dan's Pest Control - Not his trap, he wouldn't put one under my house. Insists to use a scent, tried that failure before! - Pest Control Near Me - San Diego, California

We live in North Park and this is the second time I've had to call Trapper Dan to help us with skunk removal. The first time was more than a decade ago and he caught 3-4 of them for us. I was happy with his service than and reached out again. I called him on Wed morning after our dog rushed into our backyard after a walk in the neighborhood and was sprayed by a baby skunk. The doggo ran behind our grills, ran out squinting his eyes, ran back in and came out with a baby skunk in his mouth. My husband was able to get him to drop it and the skunk ran away, towards the side of the house, where his sibling was waiting. Trapper Dan came out in the afternoon and walked the entire perimeter. He concluded that our front gate was the only place for them to get in and out. I saw a piece of siding that was freshly broken by our foundation and was worried that the skunk family was nesting under my house. Dan assured me that the gap was so small that it was unlikely. He suggested not putting out traps and that they had more than likely left our yard. He saw that I was still unsure, worried and gave me some great advice. He suggested I take a flat board, put it by the opening in the siding and lightly dust it with some plain old flour. He told me to look for footprints in the flour over the next 3 or 4 days. If I found any, call him and he would come back to set traps. Trapper Dan is a very knowledgeable. He's doing this for years! More importantly, he's kind and honest. He could have charged me for setting traps, instead he gave me an easy home-solution. It's been 2 days and no footprints! He just called me to check-in, asked if I had seen anything and to make sure I was feeling more confident they were gone. He is absolutely wonderful and if I could give him 10 stars, I would. If you have a critter problem, Trapper Dan should be your very first phone call. You will not be disappointed. read more

Trapper Dan is a nice guy but his services and professionalism left some to be desired. He helped me catch two skunks that were beneath my house. Great! Then we realized there was possibly another animal. After charging an additional fee we set another trap. Following 4 days he removed the trap without a resolution. He was to leave it 5 days. There was clearly activity (the food at the front of the trap was eaten but not the back) so I was hoping he'd show interest in finishing the job. It was around the holidays so I understand someone not being entirely focused. However I had to take the issue into my own hands, pay someone else and find my own solution following my engagement with Dan. Unfortunately he didn't seem interested in helping me finish the job. Otherwise a nice man. Just something to consider if you decide to work with him. Might be better to have a pro handle the entire process (trapping, closing the entry points, ensuring no more animals) and just pay a little more for piece of mind. read more

This cannot be an easy job. When I looked at his reviews they were on both spectrum of the rating chart. I called him because all the sudden we had a lot of skunks and he was referred by our pest control company. My dog was sprayed 3x in a week! Found out the neighbor is leaving cat food out all night, so now we have them searching for food in our yard. Dan was very informative and did what he could right away. It took a bit to trap and he was very patient and helpful. He called right away whether we got a skunk or not to see what else we can do. He works 7 days a week, and does his job. One special note he told me - DON'T leave food out for cats at night! Bring in the food, so you don't attract wildlife critters! read more

I highly recommend Trapper Dan. He knows his stuff when it comes to trapping animals. We had a skunk in our backyard that would dig our garden nightly and frequently sprayed. Trapper Dan is great! We live in Oceanside and this is the third time we've called Trapper Dan to help remove possums from under our home. He comes quickly after you call, and always catches the animals. He gives a very reasonable price, much cheaper than other trappers in the area. You just have to call him in the morning to say if the animal has been trapped or not. It's a quick 2 minute phone call. Call Trapper Dan! read more

Dan was prompt and expertly rid us of our raccoon problem without harming the animals! Highly recommend!

We were referred to Trapper Dan, by Corky's Pest Control, when we had a raccoon take up residence in our attic. She was able to hop our fence and push out the screen covering the vent to our attic. We assumed it was probably a pregnant female looking for a place to give birth, as this was the end of March. We did not want to trap the female and let the babies die if she had already given birth. Dan was able to assist us with his solution, and gave us a couple of suggestions that we could do ourselves. The raccoon left after a few day as we did not hear any noises after that. We then replaced with a new screen and will do something to the fence prevent further incidents. We highly recommend Dan, as he was professional and has had years of experience with large animals. Thank you so much, Dan. read more

Trapper Dan is literally the BEST! I called him in my 20's, 30's, and now in my 40's, and it was only last week when he deemed the issue at my house necessary for his services. All the other times he coached me through what was needed. He is honest and has integrity. It is also very rare that you find someone who doesn't tell you, I will be there next Wednesday from 3-5 PM. Trapper Dan was at my house immediately after I called him, and knew exactly what was going on. He predicted that I had a raccoon or skunk and after 2 days, a skunk was trapped before they could start a family under my home. Today my handyman looked under my house and could not find a thing. THANK YOU TRAPPER DAN! I will always call Trapper Dan. He is the best in the BIZ! read more

Definitely not 24 hours and not as helpful as he was made to be on here. Sage wisdom given to us was "Put a trap down" well jeez, thanks for the information. I live in Temecula and had a possum wedged in between branches of a ground-level tree. Called everyone from big name pest control companies to local government-contracted places. Even local companies either advised they could not handle it or that I had to wait the following week. I was recommended Trapper Dan by big name company. Thankfully, Trapper Dan accommodated my request and was able to remove the animal. Thanks for coming last minute. I will always recommend you. Thanks again. read more

Trapper Dan showed up on time and on short notice to deal with a raccoon under my house that was creating quite a bit of noise and potential damage. I wanted to handle this in a humane way as I was pretty sure she had a litter of babies. Turned out to indeed be the case. And trapping would NOT have solved the problem, given the babies, who would likely have died under the house and become a horrible condition, not to mention that death-by-starvation of the litter. Dan showed up with his secret weapon. I won't say what it is (you'll have to find out -- it's pretty cool and gross at the same time), but he's one of only two companies in San Diego using it, and the other reportedly charges much more. Long story short, in two days the mama and her babies were gone -- left to find another home, unharmed. What's also great is that Dan called to check in with me each day after he visited. Who DOES that? He wanted to be sure his work was effective and I could tell he really cared about his customers being 100% satisfied. And that's the case here. He also followed up to recommend someone who could rodent-proof the house for good so that I'd never have to deal with this situation again. Thank you Trapper Dan. read more

Had a problem with raccoon(s) digging up our garden. Trapper Dan was recommended by an exterminator company. Trapper Dan came out to our house promptly and set a trap. The only thing we caught were rats and not the desired raccoon. Despite the claim by Trapper Dan that the bait would draw the raccoon(s) from blocks away, had no success. As time marched on with an empty trap the bait seemed to fade in effectiveness yet there was no effort to refresh the bait. I ended up spending a lot of money for no result. I have used other animal removal services at a lower cost with much better results. I do not recommend Trapper Dan. read more
