Ambience and Decor was pleasant. Plenty of parking and easy location with little traffic. However, the food was less than stellar. It's an Italian restaurant and the food quality was subpar. My husband got the Godfather platter and I got soup and firecracker shrimp. The soup had little flavor. My husband's pasta dish was a large portion of 4 different pasta/sauce selections: lasagna, manicotti, chicken parm and spaghetti/meatballs. I asked if the portion was big enough to share (which it was) and the waitress said that would be an extra $5 to share!!!! What??? The sauce was NOT tasty. The homemade dough for the manicotti was thick, doughy and not fully cooked. I suggest you just skip this place and seek out the Italian restaurant on Court Street. read more

What a wonderful little restaurant! I went here for the first time about a week ago with coworkers. I was so impressed I returned two days later with my wife. The Puttanesca pasta was spicy and flavorful. It came with a complimentary salad that while small, was very fresh. Decent bread as well. I can't remember what my wife ordered. Only that it was delicious. The service was fast, attentive and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We live about 45 minutes away, but the food is worth the drive. read more

The pandemic has kept us away for months, but we finally got to A Tavolo in our round of patronizing local eateries during this difficult time. I encourage everyone who reads this to be sure to add this place to your take-out or outdoor dining experience. Our orders of spaghetti with sausage, and the lasagna were both magnificent. The salada that accompanied were fresh and interesting with their dried cranberries, nuts, and crumbles of cheese. I was especially pleased with the oil to enhance the Italian bread slices. You don't often get that with take-out. In short, A Tavolo made our dinner on our own deck feel very much like having a meal in the restaurant. That's a big bill to fill. Well done! read more

I had a nice enjoyable dinner here. Spent the night at a local hotel on my way back from Cooperstown and decided to check this place out and glad I did. The Good! Pasta is homemade and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. I had great service from a young guy I believe his name was Cameron. Their deck is covered and comfortable. (Although could use a coat of paint) If you get their pasta with the arrabbiata sauce be sure to specify how spicy you like your sauce. This one has some kick to it. The Italian sausage was delicious. The place is in an older home made into a restaurant, I drove by it the first time and had to double back. They have some nice background music playing and the deck is nicely decorated but then they serve beer and water in plastic cups....it's a little unique in that they seem to want to be upscale but then the plastic cups and chairs on the deck, different from my experiences but it didn't take away from the meal at all. They have some decent wines and a good beer selection as well. I'd definitely go back if ever in the area again. read more

Tried to dine in and noticed multiple tables to the left empty. Waitress barely acknowledged us and when she came back around told us they had no seating because one of the tables inside was reserved for some of the patrons that were dining outside since it was going to rain...they have canopies outside. Wonderful food and a nice atmosphere! I had the filet mignon which was cooked to a wonderful medium. Fantastic flavors and excellent for a 6 oz. size (although I certainly could have eaten more!) In such a small size, great service is expected, and it is most certainly delivered. The pasta sauce is seasoned wonderfully, and is not sweet! (I personally can't stand a sweet sauce, so I enjoyed this, but that's just dependent on the person!) UPDATE: We (wife and I) came here very early one evening to sit and eat at the bar. They have an L shaped bar with 6 seats in front, then the waitress access station are at the bend, then one more lone seat (7) after the bend. Seats #1 and #2 at the end were already taken. Seat #3 was empty. Seat #4 and #5 were "reserved". Seat #6 was also empty. Now it seems unusual when restaurants reserve bar seats, but be that as it is, when we asked if we could move the reserved two seats over by one place so we could sit together the bartender said the couple who sit there are very particular and we may not. Effectively, those reserved seats cause empty seats #3 and #6 to be single seats, preventing any other couple from sitting at the bar. I'm sure that 90% of the patrons in this cozy Italian restaurant are in parties of 2 or more people. I hope the "reserved seats" patrons are big spenders, because they effectively take up 4 seats at the bar. We took our money somewhere else. Here are the points: 1) Make a reservation or you will receive an attitude if you show up without one. After all I have read about business demeanor and reservation scandals, I was a bit nervous making mj 2) Be on time or - "No soup for you" 3) service is pretty good but a little inexperienced and some things WILL get lost in translation. 4) food is "ok" - I'm a bit picky on Italian foods but I really wanted to like it! I had the seafood fra diabalo, my wife had the chicken Saltemboca dish. The bread was served prior and was really small and ok, kinda reminded me of a small dinner roll warmed up and sliced thin! The seafood dish was below average. Small shrimp, 2-3 clams and muscles I asked to be left off. My wife's chicken dish was even worse than my plate. It's hard to compete with Oaks Inn (Endicott, NY) on this dish though. So keeping perspective, my wife thought it was "ok". 5) Drinks - Expensive and lame pours. I asked for a single malt scotch and got one, it was literally a micro shot in a tiny liqueur glass fixture. I was like what is this? $13 for a micro drink from a bottle that costs $24 down the street. Weird!! Wine was "ok" but $$ by the glass. Idk.... Very good food and excellent service. We sat on the covered deck - a perfect setting. I ordered the fish special which was in parchment paper with potatoes, asparagus, clams & shrimp. It was delicately seasoned with fresh dill. Excellent. My husband ordered the stuffed pork chop special and unfortunately is was overcooked and tough. They have an full bar with a nice variety of cocktails, wine and beer. We will go back sometime and try some of the other menu items. read more

This was our 3rd time at A Tavolo and maybe our last. While my dish of chicken cacciatore was really tasty, my simple request of no mushrooms and pasta boxed to go was ignored. It's difficult to pick mushrooms off a dish like this. My husband ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and revived fettuccine with meat sauce that was extremely bland and tasteless. Well... I really would like to like it; but it's just ok. Service was lovely, good portion size, decent selection and quaint setting. The food was mixed, from ok to good and normally we would try again. But honestly- the woman/bartender was so ill mannered, rough and rude; it ruined our evening. She'll be the demise of the place. It's like the staff is afraid of her; they have to run everything by her before they do their job or go above and beyond for a customer. The owner/chef came out after the meal and asked us how everything was and we learned that the staff lied to us regarding a simple request we had. We even offered to pay a difference in price, if necessary (although no other restaurant in town would charge for it). Really? The chef never received the simple request- the woman intercepted it and had the staff lie to us that "it couldn't be done because they customize every order." How is that for tacky? The chef implied that our request was simple (as we thought) and would not have been an issue at all. Not the type of customer centric atmosphere I prefer to spend my money on. Too many good restaurants closer to town without the evil attitude. Not worth the effort to drive out there for average and obnoxious. One and done. read more

Quaint old house turned into a restaurant. Nice bar and nice ambience. The wait staff is prompt and continuously checks on your table. That part is all excellent, but let's talk about the food. The spaghetti sauce was almost plain tomato sauce. The spaghetti as a side to the chicken marsala and the chicken parmesan was cold. The meatballs with the spaghetti seemed like the bread crumbs weren't well mixed into the meat. It seemed like you'd get chunks of bread crumbs as you were chewing the meatballs. The Alfredo sauce on the fettuccini Alfredo dish was very bland. It was very creamy but lacked the cheese flavor you'd expect from an Alfredo sauce. The chicken in the chicken parmesan was over done and very dry. On another positive, the portion sizes were very good and at a fair price. The quality and taste of the food needs some work, though. read more

Passing through Binghamton on a Friday night in late August. Very fortunate to see this restaurant listed on my phone. Stopped in and got an outdoor table immediately. Very friendly staff and delicious dinner. I believe it was the owner making her way around the tables, more than once. She was very attentive and helpful. Turned out to be a lovely evening.
