Grew up in Binghamton and never dined at the Oaks inn but was always told I should. Growing up we always went to Cortese or Little Venice. When I was in town last week, I decided to meet my sister there for dinner and drinks. Sat at bar until our table was ready. Bartender made us an awesome martini or was it two :) She was excellent. Our waitress was spot on and the food was delicious. We closed the place and, on the way, out had a nice chat with the owner of the restaurant. I highly recommend the Oaks Inn. read more

We had a lovely dinner here on New Year's Eve. We go out with our son and his girlfriend every New Year's Eve and she has never been to the Oaks so we decided we needed to go here for our dinner. She loved the experience and no one was disappointed. The wait staff was ready to greet us and offer wonderful service. Checking in to make sure our food was what we expected etc. What I really loved was that we didn't feel rushed or that everyone was seated close together. The restaurant was calm and not loud at all! Finished drinks at bar. seated 7:30, drink order 7:45. Server walked away before we ordered app. Called back. App (scampi - delicious) arrived 7:50. 8:10 entree order not taken. Was visiting Binghamton with the hubby this week and we had dinner at oaks inn. We followed previous reviews and was sure to make a reservation. They were busy, so glad we did. I loved my meal with the vodka sauce. It was good in the restaurant and my leftovers the next day tasted even better. The Marsala chicken was just okay per my husband. The clams casino was great. I could taste all the flavors. The greens were good too, you get a large portion and they were filling. I will say it did take a while for our food to come out but I think it's because things are made to order and fresh. I would definitely go back. The waiter was nice and made good suggestions as well. read more

All of the staff, hosts and servers are always so kind. I've been here a few times every time I come in to town and it never disappoints. The shrimp scampi is a must-have. It is delicious. This time I got the chicken marsala and it was great. I love that there was bell peppers in the dish I had never had it like that before. The drinks are always good and the prices are even better. What a reasonable priced spot for such amazing Italian food. I've never had anything bad here and I will continue to go every time I'm in town. I do wish the lighting was a little different / dimmer or they did something more to add to the ambience but it's a Classic spot that can't be changed and that's okay too!! read more

Food was delicious but the service was terrible- We waited over 2 hours - server got the order wrong / begged for bread / begged for drinks / begged to correct order / server was very arrogant and had no clue what he was doing.. rude and begged for the check. I don't see how you can run a business when you have a hap ( Ryan ) being the biggest disaster in the fro t of the house. We return to Endicott several times a year to see family. One of our favorite restaurants for Italian food is Oaks Inn. Yes reservations are usually needed as always busy. Six of us had great meals. Nothing was lacking in quality or portion. green salads, chicken Parm, Meatballs, Lasagna, Gnocchis, lemon chicken, shrimp appetizer and pasta fagioli. Did I mention the generous mixed drink pours. Omg and the prices so reasonable. We had the pleasure of having Lea as our server. They were short staffed but you would not know- she was so attentive, friendly and accommodating ( A+ employee) It was a great evening and we are returning in two days. read more

I was in town for a few days and this place was recommended to me by a close friend who I trust greatly with food recommendations and she did not steer me wrong! This is true old-school Italian restaurant and the food was fabulous in a quiet and inviting, charming environment! Unfortunately they were out of Clam dish I wanted but I ordered the Rainbow Trout and it was amazing--it was cooked perfectly and was a really nice portion (I asked for just a regular olive oil sauce on the fish and they were happy to oblige). We got some nice bread on the table with a a nice dish of olive oil to dip the bread with some spices. I also got a glass of wine with the dish which was delicious. Now this price is so reasonable I was shocked--the glass of wine was only $6 and my fish was $15. My friend got the Eggplant Parm and said it was the best he has ever had. The staff was friendly and inviting and we left with a bill that was only $40 for two of us which was so nice being that restaurants have gotten so expensive these days! Thank you Oaks Inn for a wonderful meal-I will definitely be back! Make sure to make a reservation if you can because it does get full and you must call after 4P as they do not answer the phone before that time. read more

I found the atmosphere the be relaxing and engaging and the food was just marvelous. I had the Veal Francaise with a glass of Chianti and it was everything I had hoped for: cooked well, full of flavor, nothing dried out, and the wine selection was well-chosen. The quality and amount of food were well worth the price and I have wanted to come back ever since. Covid has kept me at bay going anywhere for a while, but I'm sure that the Oak's Inn has maintained their high quality regardless of the pandemic. read more

Had the occasion to have dinner with friends last night. I have lived in Endwell since 2005 and this was the first time that my wife and I had dinner there. What a wonderful surprise was in store for us. The service was excellent. The waitress was super nice and made us feel like family. I had the veal saltemboca, and it was the best I've ever had. The waitress suggested for an appetizer we have the chicken meatballs and they were excellent. My wife had the trout and it was just as good as my veal. I would recommend this restaurant without any Reservations. This restaurant is now on my go to list. read more

I first came to Endicott New York a few years ago for a work trip and heard this area had great Italian food. Sounds like a challenge right? Well I dug in and began the search by checking Yelp (yep awesome app) and recommendations. I found it, the one, la luna dela pasta. Not sure that translates correct but sounded good. This place is the real deal. Old school pictures, Italian American music, and plain good Italian food. I have tried a number of the special and they all are great. Tonight before this review I am being fueled by homemade spaghetti, sausage, and some vino. It did not disappoint. I was smart tonight (ok might be stretching that one) by skipping the soup and adding one of the last (snap!) of the slices of cheese cake. I got some raspberry sauce on the side. This is another let down. The food is good, but the place lacks ambiance and character/coziness. It's almost like sitting at someone's house for a holiday with 20 people gathered around tables pushed together stretching from dining room to living room to eat and getting the table by the beeping ( no it beeps )kitchen door and someone clearing tables and spraying some horrible solution on the tables that would gag a horse!! Really!!! We're eating here or trying to. There are so many Italian restaurants that make good food, have some coziness. Nope, one and done. Took food out but found it to be very average Italian food for all the hype! I was quite surprised. Best item is the "lamb lollipops." The sauce was not that great and the gnocchi's were too large and tough. The lasagne not tasty. The fish though was very good. The hostess was very uncaring and off putting. I am sad about this but I'll have to pass on this restaurant next time we have guests. read more

I am proud to be the first person from the Los Angeles, Hollywood California area to review this restaurant on Yelp. It is a gem and worth the drive if you are not close. The food is excellent, the service excellent, and the ambiance very good. It's on the second floor of a non-descript building in a area that looks sketchy. They have their own private parking lot. White table clothes. You can dress up a bit and feel comfortable, but casual is fine. Tip to owner: Dim the lights a bit at dinner time in the dining room, and you will have excellent ambiance. It's so bright that film production would not need lighting if they shot here. This Section For Guys Only: If you want to impress your woman, want to easily build some romance, and not blow the budget too big, take her here. You can't miss. Perfect setting. Excellent Italian food. The salad that starts their entrees is generous. I had the Eggplant Parmesan and my husband the Veal Francesca. He has been around the world as a Merchant Mariner and he claimed that this was "the best veal ever". No small praise. The restaurant is on the second floor, up stairs. I am not sure if it is otherwise accessible. There is its own small parking lot, and just across the street is the lot for the George W. Johnson Park (complete with one of the 6 carousels in the area), which is used for parking by patrons in the evenings. We were there on Wednesday about 6pm. Although they asked if we had reservations -- we didn't -- they were able to seat us. We had tried it on a previous trip on a Monday and it was not open. Highly recommend, and suggest making reservations to be certain. You will not be disappointed. read more

Simply the best Italian-American cuisine in the area. The throwback atmosphere is also a plus. They are very old school re reservations (a must to get in), which can be frustrating when trying to reserve a table, but certainly worth the effort. Buon appetito! read more

I've eaten here many times.. I forgot just how good Every last thing is here.. had Utica Greens for appetizer and it was amazing.. veal bianco for dinner and my wife had the rainbow trout. Went with my lady friend for a nice dinner a couple of weeks ago and found them closed on a Wednesday night with no sign out or anything. Have called multiple times (always after 6pm) since then and never received an answer. Perhaps they've closed up shop? I don't want to believe this because it is truly delicious. My wife and I went here for Valentine's Day. We try to get Italian every year and this was a place that we heard good things about. The place was a little cramped, but we were seated promptly. Our waitress came by a few minutes later, offered us a wine list and kinda disappeared for a while. Then, when we ordered wine, they didn't have what we ordered and tried to pass off a cheap substitute, which I declined. However, the waitress was very gracious and gladly got us a different bottle. The food was pretty good. We didn't order appetizers, mostly because there was nothing on the appetizer menu that was horribly original or interesting - mostly just clams casino, shrimp cocktail, stuff like that. But we were given bread with a very good dipping oil. I ordered a bone-in ribeye. My wife got veal. Their veal section was very decent. Just about every veal dish you can imagine. Our entrees were perfectly done (I can't stand steaks that are overcooked) and well presented. The portions were definitely large. Overall it was a pretty good meal. Best of all, it was pretty cheap. A good bottle of wine and 2 entrees for under $80. Can't really beat that. I'll go back. read more
