    Beef and mushroom sandwich
    Raeann Q.

Cute place to stop that's open later than most places. Waitress was super nice and gave great recommendations stating everything is fresh and mainly done in house which was a huge selling point. Based off previous reviews I got the pizza rolls and the previous reviews and a beef, mushroom and cheese sandwich. Pizza rolls 10/10 would definitely order again The sandwich... eh 3/10. Meat was VERY salty, canned mushrooms. Anywhere that uses canned mushrooms is huge red flag especially after how it was explained everything is fresh and homemade. Definitely open to trying other stuff on the menu but just avoid the beef and mushrooms.

Our group enjoyed dinner here with salad, antipasto and beers with our entrees: Eggplant parmigiana, Traditional Stromboli, Chicken Jessica, Veal parmigiana and I had Dr. Rubenstein (Reuben sandwich with fries). Everyone was served a huge hot meal...some took food home... service was user friendly and efficient, thanks.

Found this spot right over the PA line while working yesterday. A co-worker and our customer both spoke highly of it, so it had to be tried! Pretty unassuming location in a plaza, tucked in amongst other stores and services, but worth keeping your eyes peeled! When you enter you can see the pizza warmer display built up and into the front main service wrap, and greeted promptly by staff! Definitely had a diner feel in my opinion, but a decent charm to the interior based on color and material choices. A pretty packed in house for around 12:30 on a Tuesday, which is always a good sign IMO. Plentiful pizza offerings, from standards, to Alfredo, and even mashed potato (Old fashioned mashed potatoes and creamy butter covered with a blend of four cheeses, ham and bacon)! Lots of sandwich and wrap options, calzones, Stromboli, pasta dishes too! I took a swing at their Italian wedding soup ( my jam) and it was flavorful and packed full of the good stuff! Shredded chunks of chicken, pastina, the little meatballs, vegetables, so good! For my main course I got the chicken parm-wich - a classic chicken parm cutlet with cheese and sauce and a decent quality roll, served with fries. Love that everything is made in house, all meats and manner of foods prepped daily! If you're in Hallstead, hit it up!

Food was very good, and they were able to accommodate our very large group on short notice. The menu has a wide range of Italian American choices including pizza. Portions were generous. I had veal parm, my "standard" Italian test dish and it was very good. The spaghetti was not over cooked, which I liked. My 14 year old cousin got a large salad that she finished, having very much enjoyed it. Another reviewer commented on the garlic knots which were excellent, but bring a roll of breath mints for everyone in your party.

    Lots of unwanted black olives

Ordered pizza here again. Got what I didn't want again. I specifically asked for NO black olives. They totally ruin my pizza. I asked again. Please no black olives. Still got black olives. Pick them off you say.... they were under the cheese. Melted in. Done ordering pizza from this place.

Well, it finally happened on a return trip from NC. Parked the RV and went in for a half rack of ribs (they were out of brisket) and slaw, baked beans, and german potato salad. Great meal with coca-cola and root beer. Saturday night music by a guy and a gal singing with a guitar, really nice ambiance, country setting and a cool evening night. There was a wedding group at the barn. Visited the barn the next morning and got an informative overview from the owner, Mary Beth, and a quick hello from her husband. Will definitely be back for more BBQ.

Location is pretty hidden, I was not sure the map has gave us a correct location 1 second before we got there. Although it's modest outside, but the interior is very cool. It's all mid 60s vibe with Elvis's song playing. The waitress were very nice to us and suggested several options and we decided to go with the meat samplers. Should I say the top bbq ever??!! Brisket was so moist and tender. Smoked chicken wings are so yummy! Our family loved everything in that sampler and we ordered more brisket for the road!!! If we're back to this area, will stop by again!!!

It was one of my favorite sandwich. Slices of rib eye sautéed with pepper and onion. We opt for no cheese cause of allergies, but the sandwich was very juicy. No need any condiments. They have two locations. This one is farther north about 15 mins away from Binghamton University but closer to Suny Broome. Though there is a closer location to Binghamton. I heard that the rib eye sandwich is only available in the other location. Def worth the drive up. We also ordered the onion rings and chicken nuggets. But the star was the rib eye sandwich. Will beback very soon.

I didn't remember to add mayo and lettuce to our original, so it was a little dry. I did ask for mayo and lettuce and added it. The macaroni salad was really good! Today (7/25) we stopped in to have lunch with family who are local on our way back to NC. The spiedes were really sloppy and so saturated the bread was mushy. The 12 inch original my husband and I were sharing was super saturated. Unfortunately one of the chunks of chicken was served raw in the middle and I ate a bite out of it before I noticed the raw inside. I took the piece to the employee working the to go counter and she offered to remake our order and refunded by husband's card. I appreciate the business making it right. Hopefully our next trip will be a more positive experience. However overall the two stops were not bad, even with undercooked chicken.

The schnitzel sandwich was also very good. The fries, at $8 as a side were not worth it, I would have rather ordered another sandwich than got two sides of fries. The chips were also almost flavorless, except that of 99% fresh oil. The kids grilled cheese was American cheese, and thus, imho, was not very good. One of my kids took a bite and didn't like it either. Ambiance: simple, nice view of the lake. Service: friendly staff. Tl;DR: I'll be back, but won't order sides or the grilled cheese.

Food took longer than we expected to come out, but they were fairly busy when we dined in. I ordered the veggie panini (sans goat cheese) and my husband went for the muffalini with a side of sweet potato fries. The veggie panini was excellent - I especially enjoyed the housemade olive salad! My husband thought the muffalini was delicious too. The sweet potato fries were good, but not really worth the fairly exorbitant upcharge. A can of pop was $3+ as well. Overall the food was great but it felt like the extras were overpriced. That said, I would definitely go back for a sandwich. Thank you, The Elf in the Oak!
