This Tim Hortons is located just off the highway in between Binghamton and Scranton in Hallstead, PA near the PA-NY border. It is more of a Tim Hortons express with more limited selection rather than a full size location you'd find in Canada or certain spots within the US. It's part of a gas station complex attached to a convenience store. The interiors are bright and well maintained, with plenty of seating and American theming (the bags give a nod to it as a Canadian chain with a maple leaf). Nostalgia usually brings me back to Tim Hortons, and I probably hadn't been to one in about 10 years. The mocha latte drink I ordered was merely average in taste, and had a few more hints of bitterness than I usually like in my caffeinated beverages. The Timbits (donut holes) were slightly more sugary than I remember (or maybe it's just me getting older), but the cinnamon and chocolate glazed ones I tried were otherwise decent. Service was a bit slow, but the employee that helped me was otherwise friendly and provided service with a smile. Overall, this Tim Hortons location is good for a quick pit stop off the highway, but otherwise average for its donut and drink offerings. read more

Off the Halstead, NY, exit of I-81, this Tim's is part of a larger service center. I hoped it was my last stop before reaching home in Bucks County. Their coffee was very good and the two sour cream donuts provided great taste, texture and energy burst for the final leg of the drive. This shop offered a breakfast and lunch menu, but was still not as complete as the stand alone Timmies north of the border. Still, it was all I needed along with the restrooms to prepare me for the last two hours behind the wheel. Compared to my other experience on the way up to Ontario, this was a complete winner. read more

Stopped in here on my way back to the airport in Syracuse. It's my wife's absolute fav coffee and I wanted to surprise her with some. Once I landed back in Orlando and cracked it open the next morning I discovered the can had been opened ‍what the heck yo. I called twice and hopefully they make it right. I'm so disappointed in this Tim's! My family and I were on here on vacay for almost a week, so we've been coming every morning. They just can't seem to get our order right! Some days it would be okay then other days so awful. We always get our usually caramel macchiato extra caramel drizzle. First day they gave us Lattes so we're like okay whatever. This Tim Horton's is just off the freeway, and if it wasn't for the construction they have going on on the roads outside it would've been easy to get to. The food here is excellent, as always, the sausage egg cheese croissants were so good ordered another to follow our first. The staff was decidedly pleasant and welcoming, and patiently took our order, delivering it exactly as asked. The sign says open 24 hours but they are not open 24 hours - misleading. Service at the front was terrible, but they didn't have an item and I came in 5 mins before "closing" and they said "well we close in 5 minutes so we really don't have much." The Canadian Dunkin' Donuts is trying hard to be the Canadian Starbucks these days, and is not doing a bad job of it all. They now feature a small panini/wrap menu, really decent hot soup, and surprisingly good small smoothies (sort of ice concoctions, not true smoothies, but so it goes these days). The baked goods still don't really send me - I think for some reason these are much better on Canadian home turf than over the border here - but they do taste differently than Dunky's and don't require a mortgage to purchase, as do Starbucks' baked items these days. The staff here were extremely friendly and service quick. This is an "express" location with counter service only, and it's a little awkward to get around inside, although they had a flat screen TV (on ESPN) and a fake fire place for a little bit of warmth, somehow the fact that it's open to and communicates with a mini-mart reduced the classic Tim Horton charm quite a bit. The whole complex is attached to a gas station as well, and the pump layout - facing straight in to the store, not parallel to the front -- makes parking very very awkward here. I do note they have a big lot for RVs and buses and I suppose you could park a truck in the lot. It's relatively easy on and off from I-81 - you have to take a left and then an immediate left across traffic to get in, but getting out dumps you right back onto the feeder road to the entrance so that makes up for it. I'm not going to sing to the high heavens, since it's not quite as good as the Tim's in the Great White North, but it's probably a cut above the Dunkin's across the street even on a bad day, particularly if you want soup. Recommended for the quick hot lunch off the road with casual sit-down. read more

I went into an empty store, ordered a sausage biscuit with bacon and cheese. I was over charged for a sausage egg and cheese biscuit sandwich, then $1.30 for a strip of bacon? It wasn't what I ordered, it was over toasted and I paid on a credit card while in a hurry. So I spent over $5 on a garbage sandwich I couldn't stomach finishing. I wasn't going to wait to get fixed. I have eaten there many times passing thru on 81, and that was the emptiest it's been, and the only time I've had my order screwed up there. If only they listened to the customer. What really makes this Tim Horton's in Hallstead, PA so terrible is their staff. There are maybe a couple of staff members who are nice but the rest of them need to be taken out with the trash. Extremely rude. Their District Manager isn't any better. She's a real "peach" so I'm not surprised that the staff there are the way they are. There have been a few incidents that have happened there which is why I am contacting their Corporate Office . Their food is mediocre at best and definitely not worth the hype but the staff's attitude is much worse. I definitely will not be going back there. read more

A buddy and I recently visited here on our way to the coalmine in scranton we weren't impressed we asked why all the fuss the coffee isn't that great and by all means is no where near as good as mcdonalds cup of joe and the doughnuts are terrible just not a great experience but I guess that's what you would expect for a quick fix on the road read more

I have stopped at this 24 hour Tim Horton's a handful of times during road trips and it has been a godsend. It's adjacent to a gas station that has a clean bathroom--yes, a gas station with a clean bathroom! It's a good place to take care of necessities and to top it with a good coffee or donut when on the road. I have not had the food at this Timmy Ho's, so cannot attest to it but recommend checking it out. read more

For the nice decor and promising selection, Tim Horton's in Great Bend fails in service and execution. The staff is generally horrid, they have attempted to check me out after only ordering my first item on more than one occasion. They treat customers as if they are invisible and proceed to discuss orders in the drive thru or other unpleasant conversation while I stand and wait for my food. The girl making my sandwich looked miserable and set my panini on the counter with a melancholy "there you go". The same young man served us both times and did an excellent job of being friendly, efficient, and professional. We thought the coffee was rich and flavorful and were really impressed.
