Cool Little coffee shop I ran across when I was up in Binghamton. Shop had a very cool vibe and the staff was super friendly. They had a number of coffee options and some good looking pastries. I grabbed my usual cold brew. The coffee was excellent! If I was in the area regularly, there is no doubt I would be here a bunch.

Came back to my hometown and discovered Tom Sheredy has converted the old Cigar Store into a coffee shop. He did a great job of reviving the old building down to preserving the embossed ceiling. The care he put into restoring the interior is the same care that goes into his barista skills. Our coffees were fantastic. Here's to a long run of success, the man makes a damn good latte!!

It's a coffee place. Not a sandwich shop. You can get a pastry or a bagel but if you want a sandwich look elsewhere. Of course, I'm a coffee snob so if I tell you to stop here for coffee, the location cleared a high bar. I had a latte... it was very good - the house blend is smooooth. Because I was hungry, I also scored my first cruffin. The laminated layers of this muffin/ croissant hybrid were flakey and perfectly peel apartable (I love interactive food!!). It featured a perfect hint of cinnamon sugar and lemon - yum! On my Saturday afternoon visit, customers ranged in age from carried-in-by-parents (they came for hot chocolate) to seniors (perhaps ordering the same thing), but most were college aged. Some came for to-go; others stayed. A young Hispanic woman FaceTimed with a family member on one side of me and a couple on a first date played "never have I ever" on the other side. They sell beans and swag. Nice vibe overall. If you aren't certain about the name, Sole City is a reference to the Endicott-Johnson shoe company. A near-by former child shoe and box factory has been converted into a home for Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences (beside the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences). The walls of the coffee shop are covered with classic photos from back in the day as well as art by local artists. I'll be back! Free wi-fi.

I found Sole City on Yelp and stopped by Friday morning. I got a maple latte and my husband got a croissant. I liked my drink so much that I got a second on Saturday morning as well. We were just in town for those two days but I loved the maple latte enough to get it twice! The exposed brick walls with hanging plants was lovely and cozy, and the stunning mural down the block made me walk down to take a photo!

Lovely coffee shop in downtown Johnson city,NY. Staff and service were wonderful. Told them it's my first time and they were so welcoming and kind. The owner himself works there and gave great recommendations. Lovely place! Definitely visit when you're in town.

The inside of this place is nice. They have local art you can purchase on the walls, a plant wall, and nice decor. It's a good ambiance to relax and maybe study. It's great that they're celebrating the history of the Johnson City area with EJ shoes and a place like this is definitely, as another reviewer said, "a breath of fresh air on Main St." as this seems to be part of a broader revitalization that is very much needed. However, their menu is pretty limited and basic. The coffee is just ok and they only have a couple options for non-coffee based drinks (hot tea and chai latte). The main reason I would consider coming here again is because it's close by and small owned, not that it's particularly great. It's pretty average in terms of the drinks and food.

Iced chai and croissant in the patio.

Always a pleasure coming back to Sole City, whether it's to study, catch up with a friend, or just unwind by myself. The owners and employees are friendly and hospitable. Today I discovered that they have patio seating! So not only is the indoor ambiance spectacular, the outdoor area feels so breezy and zen with a trickling fountain. I ordered my casual iced chai latte with a warm croissant. There are many coffee shops around, but this one stands out.

Homage to johnson city's shoe producing roots, there are actually shoe forms from the old factory. Good lattes and donuts from Mannys

This choice was…read morebasically accomplished by using Google and seeing the massive list of places in the area and choosing one we haven't been to yet. Oh my gosh I'm glad we did this one.. Isn't much to look at when you walk in but it's basically a diner so what do you really expect? . Menu isn't huge but what they do they do very well. First thing I noticed when the breakfast came to the table was that the potatoes were fried in butter. A lot of places we have gone to use a little oil on the flat top, nope this place uses butter. And not that cheap imitation butter either they use some real butter. Those potatoes were incredible. We both had the steak and eggs, we both ordered the steak or air which for a breakfast steak is about a 25 second window before it's overcooked, and these guys nailed it. Everything else we had was really good including the French toast. A lot of places have it rather soggy, this wasn't crispy but it was well, let's just say less soggy. We asked him about other things we like for example the sausage biscuits and gravy which they only do on Saturday so we have to go back now. I also want to try their breakfast sandwiches because I was talking to them about these, and for those that are in this area that remember a place on I think Broad Avenue called Pasquale's.. well Pasquale's used to have the best breakfast sandwiches, and the Clinton diner here is telling me that they make theirs a little bit bigger. Definitely has my interest peaked. So anyway yes, I definitely recommend this place. The prices were not too bad really, all of the food we have here I think was about $30. For two steaks, and basically a third order of French toast, I'd say not too bad.

I have been having breakfast here almost every week for around 19 years. The food is great, the…read moreservice is good and the prices are very reasonable.
