Went to Concordia for the second time with family and had a fantastic meal again! This was our first visit in the old Consol's location and they did a great job renovating and decorating for the holidays! The ambiance was warm and inviting. I do miss the white bean dip with focaccia but the bread and accoutrements were delicious anyway. Two of us got the shrimp scampi, another the eggplant parm, and another the salmon. Their tomato sauce is thick and a bit sweet, just the way I like. Joe was an excellent server and knowledgeable of the menu. We appreciated how he made us feel welcome and was attentive throughout our meal. We would definitely ask for him again when we return! Except for a tasty chocolate lava cake and appetizer pizza , our 6 meals were sub-par . ( shrimp scampi , dry meatballs and worst of all the aptly-named airline chicken-- remember airline food?!) -- We waited an hour for our meal and the management seemed shocked that two of us asked to replace the inedibly oversalted potatoes with a side dish we could eat. We didn't make a reservation but they were able to seat us in the bar area and we were immediately met by a very welcoming server. She was terrific and knowledgeable about the menu that it made our choices very difficult! My friend had Calamari Puttanesca as an appetizer, spaghetti and meatballs for the main course. I had homemade meatballs which were huge and the Bolognese which was delightful! The salad dressing (I know a weird thing to focus on) was absolutely delicious! This could be called Concordia 2.0 as they've moved a block away to Oak Hill Ave in the facility formally run by Consol's nee Duffs so it dates back to the 1940's. It's freshly painted and updated but has a nice Italian corner joint ambiance that's very inviting. They've only been open a week but service was great, seems like they've worked out all the kinks. The place was packed but we had reservations and were seated with in 5 minutes. We started with a couple of mixed drinks which were great, not a super generous pour but satisfying. Wife had a Lemon Drop Martini, I had an Old Fashioned, no complaints, good drinks My wife got the shrimp scampi which was delicious and I got Ed's Fabulous Meatballs for an app and pizza for a main course (more on that in a minute). I don't know who Ed is but the meatballs lived up to the hype and were fabulous. So why pizza? This place has a long storied history dating back to Duffs. The pizza is legendary and I've seen pizza places in North Carolina and elsewhere claiming their pizza was styled off of Duffs in Endicott. No way I couldn't try it and it was an honest 6 stars out of 5. So if you're familiar with Dave Portnoy and his pizza reviews, this is right up his alley. An easy high 8 or 9 score. New York style, thin light crust, no flop and a good undercarriage. Nice crust blisters which says the dough was properly rested and the oven temperature was perfect. There's a lot of good pizza in this area, but this blew me away. All in all, the perfect package all the way around. Great service, great food and decent price. A home run! read more

Was visiting with friends in Endicott and planned a dinner at the Concordia. We had a party of four and 3 of us had the eggplant parm and one had chicken marmalade. All entrees were excellent especially the eggplant, perfectly seasoned and baked to perfection, it was absolutely delicious. The remodel of the restaurant is very nicely appointed, the service was excellent and it was a pleasant dining experience. If I may make a suggestion I would suggest that there could be a focus on the acoustics as it was rather loud during our meal. It was full capacity to be fair but it is suggestion that would add to a complete dining experience. The excellence of the food and service was just great. read more

Ironically enough, I was going to the restaurant up the street, but it was packed, they are not lying about getting reservations. What a nice 'save' at my first time at Concordia. We got one of the last open tables and saw many without reservation unfortunately turned away. Very pretty, freshly decorated & cozy restaurant, good looking bar area. I got the chicken Milanese, good work on that, and my wife got arguable the best chicken Marsalas we've had in a while, it challenges me to up my marsala game at home. Went here with family while visiting in town and it did not disappoint! They had many menu options and could accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions. You could tell the food was prepared fresh and homemade and everything we got was delicious! The restaurant is on the smaller side but very homey on the inside. However, if you want to guarantee getting in, you would definitely need a reservation. The service was quick without us feeling rushed. Would definitely return again when in town! read more

We had a reservation ( made a month prior ) on New Year's Eve at 4:45 pm, just after the restaurant opened. On arrival, the host walked us through the mostly empty restaurant to the most distant seat on the cold porch. I then requested a seat in the heart of the restaurant and the host declined to allow us to have a more welcoming seat. The restaurant was not even 50% occupied. When I again asked for a better location, the hostess said she would check with the owner. She returned and said we could sit in the bar area. We declined and left the restaurant, never to return. My wife and I had been at Concordia several times prior to this experience. It was quite obvious to us that our request could have been accommodated but that the owner had forgotten how to extend hospitality. As there are many good restaurants in the Endicott, NY area, my wife and I will be doing business with those other restaurants in the future. In our opinion, we were treated as second class customers who the owner was trying to jam into the cheap seats. NEVER AGAIN !!! read more

I've been a loyal customer of Consol's Restaurant for over 14 years. This evening I drove an hour for the sidewalk spiedies and meatball sandwiches. I arrived at 5:40 While I was in line, we were informed that they were already out of the spiedies and would soon be out of the meatball sandwiches. This was a clear case of extremely poor planning ever poorer management. I don't know if they put a limit on the number of sandwiches or not but had they done that maybe they would have had enough to servie everyone. Shame on the management and on Concordia Restaurant. This would NEVER have happened if Consol's was still in charge. I will NEVER go to Concordia again until they are under more competent management!!! read more

I had a very poor first experience at Concordia. When we first arrived, I asked the hostess if they offered takeout and was told no. Meanwhile I had seen on their website that they did have pizza--which she confirmed, but her lack of effort and engagement made it feel like we weren't even welcome. To make matters worse, she ended up seating a couple who came in after us, while we were still waiting, at a bar table where we would have happily sat to order drinks and the pizza for takeout. That was the point we decided to walk out. As we were leaving, the hostess then came outside and awkwardly offered us seats at the bar--seats that didn't even exist. The whole interaction was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and left a bad taste before we ever got to try the food. Luckily, we ended up at another restaurant nearby that was absolutely delicious, which only highlighted how poor the service at Concordia really was. read more

Last night my husband and I went to Concordia for an early anniversary dinner. We usually go to the same places and I convinced him to take a chance and try something else. We were very pleased with our decision. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Since we hadn't been here before our waitress, Jamie made some wonderful recommendations. I had the Salmon which was delicious and my husband had the pork chop which was cooked to perfection! We ended with bread pudding which was a great ending to a great night! The bread with white bean dip, that comes as soon as you seated, is delicious- I was hesitant at first, but after the first bite I couldn't get enough. Our first visit... We live out of town... We took my in-laws and brother in law. Delicious food, great service, beautiful ambience. Homemade focaccia with white bean dip is so yummy. Homemade lemon vinaigrette for the salad was phenomenal. Everyone loved their meals (chicken Marsala, chicken Piccata, Miso Glazed Salmon, NY strip steak, eggplant parmigiana) and the Chocolate Lava cake was one of the best I have ever had! Went on a Thursday evening for dinner, early because we didn't make a reservation. We were the first ones in the door. They had to check the reservation to see if we could be seated. That was different. First time at this restaurant. The meatballs were a little tough, difficult to cut with a fork. The red sauce was a bit bland. Ordered the homemade pasta, very al dente. There was no host or Hostess in sight and we waited a long time to be even recognized that our table that we were directed to . Additionally it is a quaint little place but so very noisy it needs to add some sound panels or something as we were constantly leaning in to hear the waiter and he was doing the same for us . But two things break the deal for me, no good bread when two great bakeries are right around the corner, and $17 dollar martini's. Tons of parking across the street or right in front. There is an elevator available for disabled or elderly folks. Upstairs is the Endicott Museum. This used to be an Italian, Sicilian Club and has been remodeled very tastefully to be a class place. The cocktails while pricey - are excellent. House wine is $7 a glass and there's a nice wine list. Dinners are in the $25 range and include homemade bread and salad. So far we've had the pork chops, salmon and spaghetti and meatballs - all excellent. The service has been great also. You can easily make reservations online, which I suggest... or you might not get in, people are catching on and it's getting very busy - good for them.
