I originally signed up with Smith Pool service who at some point sold my account to A-OK. I had issues from the start with how the transition was communicated and their overall responsiveness but honestly I couldn't be bothered to find someone new so I didn't do anything for a few years. That was a mistake. I finally got fed up when they didn't respond after weeks of asking them to come look at my broken heater. I discontinued service and got a new company. In the new company's first visit, just 3 days after A-OK was here, they showed me my chemical levels ... high PH, low salt, no chlorine, high phosphate, dirty filters and broken salt cell which A-OK sold me over a year ago then never cleaned. I'm out $400 to fix what A-OK screwed up. A-OK's response to all this? "The new company must be lying. If you don't pay our final bill, you must be poor. We're not. Good bye". You don't have to do business with people like this. It's a crowded market. You can do much better. read more

Had friends over to swim, kids got a little rough with the pool sweeper hose and snapped it right out of the wall. Called the office and Richard was at our house within a couple hours. As always, the service call was a fast, efficient, and friendly experience... they also service our pool weekly. These guys are awesome, and we refuse to call anybody else! Richard and his team did a good job busting out concrete, replacing skimmer, intake pipe, etc. Put everything back together and now we have no leaks! We were having one of those days our pool light went out along with the pool booster pump. I read on line that you have to be very careful when your pool light goes out, water and electricity do not mix. I was in a panic I called 8 pool repair companies, 3 picked up but only Rick at A-Ok could respond. Not only was Rick kind and genuinely concerned, he has been in the pool business forever! He can come an hour later, assessed the parts we would need and quoted a very fair price. It only took 2 days to get all the parts and for Rick to complete the job!!! I am very disappointed with the service we received from a-ok. We did not choose them our account was given over to them by Smith pool service without our permission. Our pool has been green for weeks and not once has anyone left a note or called us to say "hey so here is what I recommend." I realize we are chemical only but the pool service we had before would always give us recommendations and price quotes. When you call them you get an answering machine 100% of the time. My husband called in April because we wanted to have the pool cleaned after all of the winter rain and wind. The guy came out on April 30th and he cleaned up some debris but not the dirt from the bottom of the pool. He cleaned the filters and let us know they needed to be replaced. So the pool still wasn't cleaned and they never followed up. When I called the owner last week he made excuses that it had rained and that's why he didn't come back out. Well there have been one or two sunny days since then and not even a follow up note, call, text, nothing. So the owner said he would come out the next day to clean the pool and change the filters. He said he would have it back up and running by the weekend. Well He sent someone else even though he said he would be the one to do it. The pictures I posted show what it looks like after he "cleaned" it and he did not change the filters. Didn't come to the door to follow up or tell us anything. When asked the owner said his vacuum kept clogging up and that he did exactly what he was told to do. Like somehow that made it better?! He didn't even say he would come by or make it right. Just left it at that when we said we wanted to discontinue service he said ok. So ok. read more

My wife contacted your company to adjust chemical and sweep the pool plaster dust after our pool was re-plastered. You were recommended by C & R Pool Plastering. She was told by you that you would adjust the water chemistry, brush the pool twice daily until the dust was removed and follow C&R's startup procedure. The start up procedure is 32 days. After seven days the pool dust was as bad as the first day. I have several test results from All Seasons Pool & Spas that show no free or total chlorine, high PH, low hardness, low alkalinity while you were supposedly taking care of our pool. I will not pay you the $500 you are asking for. When I suspected that you were not showing up to work on our pool. I put a rod against the gate that would fall when you entered our back yard. I did it for a month. You showed up four times. read more

I had my pool refinished and replaced some of my pumps in 2016. The company that replaced the pumps and controller failed to mention that it would have been a good time to replace the old valves. I contacted a few different pool service companies. Almost all said that , because my pool equipment was below the pool, I would have to drain the pool to get the valves replaced. Richard of A-Ok Pool was able to replace the valves without draining the pool. He saved us water, time and money. Over the years we have used his services on 3 occasions. In our experience he is very honest, does great work, and his prices are reasonable. read more

Unfortunately, I need to add another negative review to this company. We initially contacted A-OK while searching for a contractor to upgrade our existing pool pump. It took over a month for their sales rep to provide us with a final quote, which nearly doubled by the time it was finalized. Ultimately we found another contractor to install the new unit. We decided to give A-OK another chance and contracted with them for weekly pool service, but after numerous billing problems and issues with technicians not securing the backyard gate after cleaning we've moved on to another service provider. Richard and crew are always polite and nice to chat with, but management needs to reassess company operations if they want to retain clients. read more

Unfortunately we had the same problem. He came out a total of 4 days and sent an associate 1 day. The plaster on are pool is ruined. When calling CandR who recommended him Tammy the secretary answered with an attitude what do you expect me to do. Except with us Richard had the nerve to send us to collections. Finding out there are others who had the same problem and recently finding out he doesn't have a contractor license. We plan on taking legal action against him and possibly CandR. What angered me the most is how Richard lied from the beginning. How he would be at our home everyday for the first 3 then every other day for the next 2 weeks. Which didn't happen. Then poured the wrong chemicals which ruined the color of our plaster. I highly recommend that you do not use him. read more

The address for A-OK Pool Service is a mail-box address. He installed a pump at our house a year ago and said it has a one-year warranty. Well . . . one year to the date the pump stops running. We have tried calling his phone number, but he doesn't respond. His email address is no good.When we called on him shortly after installing the new pump, since it was making strange sounds, he came back and was very rude and unfriendly. I don't know if he is still in business. I definitely would never recommend his business again; that is, if he is still in business. read more

Richard built my pool 4 years ago and has serviced it ever since. He has exceeded my expectations in both the design of the pool and the quality of service. I should have read the reviews from pool owner in Granite Bay, as in my situation, the EXACT same thing happened. He stated he would come to "set-up" the pool and balance the chemicals. He came once. I had to call 2 weeks later to have him come a second and third time. I know that he did not show up any other time, as I locked the back gate. I would highly recommend NOT using this service.
