This was an amazing meal, out of the 2 week trip we took to Spain and Portugal (including a Michelin star restaurant) this one was the most memorable. Vibe: Small intimate restaurant with it's huge octopus decor hanging from the ceiling over the bar seats and chefs. Service: Our server Ana was highly attentive, answered questions, gave suggestions without being pushy, and was overall speedy. They had English menus available which was convenient. Food: All of the fish we got was delicious, beautifully plated, and interesting. I truly enjoyed every mouthful. We also got 2 deserts, both very good. We got a pisco sour which was tasty. Value: We spent $142 for 3 people, definitely not cheap. Overall we really loved our meal here and I want to go back just to eat here again so it was worth it for me and I would recommend.

When we came to Portugal for a quick weekend visit with friends we stumbled across this place and decided to stop and eat. We selected a handful of plates to share amongst the four of us so that we could sample a bunch of things. None of them disappointed. All the dishes were stunning and incredibly tasty. Service was great since we got there and were one of the only tables at the time. I would go back if we ever make it to Portugal again. It was all just stunning.

When asking people for recommendations on restaurants prior to visiting Lisbon, this restaurant was mentioned. So, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, as soon as I entered the store, my friends and I were seated right away. I think it was partially due to the fact that we were eating an earlier dinner and partially due to the very rainy weather outside. But luckily, we had no issues getting seats without any reservation. When we got seated, we were asked if we wanted cornbread to start which we immediately agreed (little did we know that it wasn't complimentary and cost us per person...). We got corn bread on top of a bed of corn nuts with 2 different spreads. The spreads were very smooth and flavorful. I also had the highly recommended pisco sour. The drink was very nice - very light and airy. Of course, we could visit A Ceivcheria without trying a variety of ceviche dishes, so we opted for the TUNA & FOIE GRAS CEVICHE and SALMON & DRAGON FRUIT CEVICHE. Both the ceviches really had flavors that were bursting in my mouth. The combination of all these ingredients was something that I've never taste. Chef Kiko combine the soft texture of the tuna/salmon with the hard textures of nut hazelnut and cashew respectively. Both ceviches tasted a bit tarty - the tuna & foie gras one was a bit more sour. But, I really thought these two were worth a try. QUINOTTO NERO WITH TIGER PRAWN & SCALLOP The quinoa was made with cuttlefish ink, so it was black and makes your tongue black as well. The quinoa was nicely flavored but tasted a tad bit salty for me personally. The scallops were very soft. The tiger prawn was big, but wasn't too much meat to eat from after extracting from the shell. This was one of the more filling dishes that we had. Each ingredient was set so nicely on the plate. The flavors were very unique and you can tell it was created by a chef who knew what he was doing. I really enjoyed my dining experience despite the expensive price tag. Overall. I thought it was a 4.5

Recommended to us by a local, this was our first stop along a food tour we put together for ourselves. We started with a pisco sour, that it their signature drink. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was a fan. Light and refreshing, went down very easy. Since we were going to multiple places and this was our first stop, we on'y ordered a few things but what we did order was excellent. We had the tuna and foie gras ceviche- wow! The flavor combination was a symphony of delicious flavors. tuna ceviche, foie gras, beetroot, raspberry and lychee topped with crushed hazelnuts- drool! Next we had the tuna belly tartare tacos, they were delicious in their own right. The service was quick and great. We will def be back on our next trip to Lisbon and we will order the same things.

Overall 4.5. We two had dinner. FOOD: 4.0. - 4.0: Prawn with Quinoa and Cuttlefish ink. Salty, "but nice if one wants a change from traditional Portuguese cuisine." - 4.0: Ceviche: Tuna, Foie Gras, raspberries. (Note that the Foie gras isn't like that of Dordogne.) Very good. - 4.5: Chocolate cake with platano (banana). Banana mixed with a little bit of pepper served as a gelatin with chocolate and ice cream. Excellent mix of tastes. AMBIANCE: 4.0. White and bright. Nice blue-tile floor. SERVICE: 5.0. A large team in ties worked together seamlessly to take care of us.

Late post. This is one the best food we went into just that the tap water are being charged without us knowing it for 4 Euro. Their *Couvert" chips are made in- house and it was good and unique. - Corn nut, "cuttlefish fish flatbread" but it was like a crunchy chips with basil butter and aji amarillo sauce- got this 3x. The area is typical European restaurant where like you're side by side really close to each other. We had ceviche tuna with beetroot, lychee and raspberry puree' - how's that for fusion and presentation?.., Tuna tartar with tobiko on a wheat torilla, Octopus and Quail Egg Causa, Codfish and Algarve Prawn Causa : both with potato puree'. And that banana split with twist.

Small restaurant down the road from our hotel. No reservations so plan on waiting quite a while for a seat here. We snagged a table luckily our second try. We each had the tasting menu. You can only get it if you're sitting inside. The outdoor seating is fine, but the night we ate here the first time it was way too windy to enjoy the food The servers are very friendly. The tasting menu is very generous. Every dish was delicious. The dessert was fantastic. The room is small with a counter and tables against one wall. There's a huge octopus hanging from the ceiling which is beautiful.

Pros: - Service was good - Interior is small but charming - Very accommodating for my gluten intolerance Cons: - Food was overpriced - Food was over salted - Drinks were a scam* *I absolutely HAVE to explain that their "signature cocktail" is a pisco sour - which they immediately recommend to you without mentioning the cost. I guess we got suckered. We ordered 2 rounds throughout dinner & when we got the bill we couldn't believe what we saw ........ €14 a drink. That's wicked expensive even by USA standards. I have no issue with ordering an expensive cocktail if it's worth it - but something about this whole thing felt exploitative.

Chum Bucket

Come here if you want to have drinks spilled on you, pay $10 for bread, and pay $25 for mid ceviche. You'd think this would be outstanding ceviche given the name of the establishment. However, on the contrary. Overpriced for mediocre grub that they should serve at the chum bucket.

Very cool place! 1. Ambience: cool, modern, cold as the doors are open in the middle of winter. 2. Food: good, but some items I hated. but it is not the fault of the restaurant that it doesn't match my taste bud. 3. Service: very attentive and professional It is a great place to visit, it was personally my first time ever at a dedicated ceviche place. I would recommend.

The best ceviche of my life: The Portuguese Ceviche
Melis A.

Stumbled upon A Cevicheria around lunch time when a restaurant across the street that my hotel recommended was not yet open. The outside tables are perfect for people watching along with a nice breeze, and the Pisco Sour is literally the perfect way to start the weekend! Ordered the Portuguese Ceviche with slow-cooked egg yolk envelopes massaged octopus, local codfish, textured potato, and parsley, and as a ceviche connoisseur, it's the best ceviche I've ever had anywhere in the world. It took about an hour to get the food which got me wondering if they had to go catch the fish but there was a very delightful gentleman who may have been the Manager that made it easy for time to fly on a whim. Absolutely try this place if ceviche is your thing! You'll thank me later.

The ambiance and decor are stunning. I arrived before 12:30 and I was lucky that I was seated right away. The waitstaff was friendly, and I told my server multiple times that I have a dairy allergy. He brought out what I thought was an appetizer, but was actually the snacks that are called the "courvert charge" (that I didn't order). It was all dairy, so I mentioned to the server that I couldn't have any of it and he removed the items. The ceviche de atum e foie gras was visually stunning and texturally interesting. I also had the taco de tártaro de atum e tobiko - delicious, exactly what you'd hope for in a tuna tartare taco. When the bill came, I noticed that (1) even though I hadn't ordered the courvert charge and (2) I didn't even eat the courvert charge because I was allergic to all of it, they charged me for it anyways! I had to wait a little longer for them to correct the mistake. I agree with previous Yelpers; it's a pet peeve of mine when restaurants charge the customer for something that the customer didn't order. For an already pricey meal that would have been stunning otherwise, I was disappointed in that practice. Visually beautiful experience, but they need to do better with service. I would come back with friends if they stopped forcing the courvert charge practice.

Table seating was by the front and along one wall with the rest at the bar that dominated the middle of the restaurant. Menu was almost the same with a great selection of seafood ranging from tacos, ceviche appetizers to pasta, fish and shellfish entrees with many Asian flavors. The Peruvian ceviche was very nice with thin slices of fish, radish and red onions. The corn nuts added a nice crunch. It also came with a small bowl of toasted crostini chips. The cuttlefish tacos were delicious.. Big chunks of cuttlefish topped with tomatoes and placed on a small tortilla with a white sauce. We actually ordered just one but comped a pair. Sea bass was the best with its crunchy pan fried skin side topped with nori and the moist fish went perfectly with the barley and miso sauce combination. Even the bok choy was cooked well. The squid ink pasta had a mild sauce but scallops were nicely seared. At the end the owner offered us a shot of ginja to try for our first time. It was sweet but at least lower in alcohol,16%. Another great meal and service even two years later. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting some seafood here in Lisbon.

We were so glad we went, it was an outstanding meal. The restaurant is not large and mainly has seating for 2. Other reviews complained about waits, but it would be worth it. We ate early and were lucky to arrive when another couple was leaving. Service was quick and very friendly--and like many places here they spoke good English. They do not have a wide drink list, but we had a bottle of the house wine that was really good and complemented food perfectly. For appetizers, we had bread basket, miss cheese, and the caprese. Get the bread basket if you get either. I had not heard of that cheese but it was great, semi-soft with a nice flavor. The caprese salad was nice also, fresh tomato's and mint as opposed to basil. For the main course, I had the seafood paella that was served in a hot pan right from the stove. This was excellent with rich saffron flavor and a nice mix is seafood--the calamari and mussels were particularly good. I loved it. With the said, my wife's sea bass might have been better. The whole fish was served, nice and fresh. It was cooked and flavored absolutely perfectly. The skin was crisp while the fish was moist and just melted in your mouth. Completely wonderful. It came with potatoes and some steamed vegetables, a superb dish. Definitely worth a visit!
