Moving is such a mixed bag of emotions. It can be exciting, fun, a little sad, exhausting, a chance to bond.. I've moved around quite a lot and have used several different storage units from Manhattan to Los Angeles. A1 is the best, Susan helped make the process so easy and fun. She was a joy to talk to, flexible to work with, I believe she gave me really good rates and was overall so helpful and sincere. Always just a warm smile and great attitude from Susan. The facility itself is great too. It's located near the freeway so it's super easy to get to. The parking lot in the front is a little small, but never full. My storage unit was seemingly small but surprisingly spacious. Some of the lights didn't work in the unit which was mostly inconvenient at night. I felt safe at A1. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood. I recommend this place to anyone who is seeking a great storage experience. The facility is pretty clean and the workers are nice. They have a key pad to enter the unit so it's secured. Thank you Susan for helping out with everything. read more

Susan and Maritza are a pleasure to deal with. Very professional, knowledgable and very easy to work with. Helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Wouldn't go anywhere else. I live in Santa Monica and it's a long drive to do business with these folks. But it's worth it. Thanks so much!! Very highly recommended. Maritza, you rock! read more

Great personal !!! Especially Susan and Rebecca! Amazing customer service! Definitely recommend!!

Everyone was so great there. I had my things there for over a year and never had one problem. The place is completely clean (I wish my house was that clean!). My ONLY wish is that it was climate controlled when you're moving on really hot days here but my stuff came out as pristine as it went in. No security issues, everything was great. Totally recommend. read more

I rented a storage from here from Oct 2014 to August 2015. Quick and friendly service from Susan from the beginning to the end. Susan and Maritza is an awesome team! They are there when you have questions or need help. Spacious location with clean units and facility. Hours of operation is from 7am to 7pm and assistance from 9 or10pm to 5 to 6pm. They even stay late to help me out with the moving to and from. Never had this kind of treatment elsewhere and even got some friends to rent here. Bottom line: No bugs, hostility, mess and crowds here! They take great care of you and treat you like family. You bet if I ever need a unit, I'm only going HERE. Thank you again Susan and Maritza! read more

I came here looking for a small storage with a decent price. And this place is it! I was provided with above and beyond service by Maritza. She was amazing! Maritza accommodated all my needs because she understood my circumstances. Also, Susan has helped me along the process as well. These two are both the sweetest ladies and I am thankful for their help with providing me a conveniently located storage space. read more

The greatest strength of this business is the customer service. I've used them twice in the last 4 years and they have been very consistent. Shout out to Susan, fellow Morrissey fan! She is the best, the other gal too, always willing to help and are very smart about their jobs and responsibilities. The place is clean, safe, and has very convenient hours. I freaking hate moving but doing business with a professional place like this makes it better. Keep being great :) read more

Maritza truly goes the extra mile and beyond! I would give her 10 stars if I could. I had to commute from Santa Monica and I was worried that I wouldn't make it to their office before closing. Maritza offered to stay and wait for me! (Luckily I made it in time). Wow. Simply amazing. The process was so quick but Maritza was very clear with what I was signing up for and did an excellent job of explaining the application. Extraordinary service, gracious communication, and the best. read more

My wife did a lot of storage for short to long term storage and came across A-1 in El Monte. The prices were cheaper than other competitors and quite frankly the service we received on every visit was outstanding. Maritza and Suzanne were extremely helpful and super friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this location to anyone in need of short-term storage. Super convenient location off the 10. read more

I had never thought I would need storage until I had some water damage in my home. I did not know where to start so I looked up my options online and found A1 Self Storage in El Monte. This location was a little ways from my home but the great reviews is what caught my eye. I used this storage for a few months and was impressed by the quality of service received by the staff! The place is clean and my belongings were safe. read more

This location has the best manager ever...Stephanie!! The other emplyees are very helpful as well but my dealings have been with Stephanie and she went above and beyond to take care of me. Someone backed into my unit and damaged the door which Stephanie made sure was taken care of right away. She had the door replace with a new one which works like a dream. She was so helpful and always kept me up to date as to what was going on. I go there on a daily basis and she is always hard at work, either helping customers or cleaning, and she always has a smile. She is awesome and she keeps this location very clean. I definately recommend this location to anyone needing storage. read more

Been renting here for about four months now, and A-1 has a great staff and way better prices than you would find with the other guys. What I get here I would pay triple somewhere else. It's very clean inside and if you have any questions someone is there to help. read more

I was helping my mom find a storage unit and couldn't decide between A-1's 10x17ft vs Public storage's 10X15ft. The prices were both competitive compared to other companies. I told my mom to visit both locations. My mom said the public storage she went to was dirty and the door is narrow. She didn't like it at all. But when she went to the A-1, she was very happy with the size of the storage, the cleanliness, and helpful staff. Susan was the one who helped her. Susan was very patient with my mom and answered all of my mom's questions. My mom said she will always go with A-1 storage in the future. read more

Was looking for a storage unit. Came upon A-1. And found just what we need it. Maritza was so helpful and explained everything to us very well. She was a great help. I will definitely recommend coming and ask her! read more

while having my storage unit here, everything was ok. It wasn't until I was leaving the unit, that I was accused of leaving my trash in the building. It was very extremely rude of the lady in the front to assume and try to pressure me into saying I was the one that left my trash in the building. I was extremely upset at the false accusation coming from an employee in the front. Talk about having good costumer service read more

This place may be clean but over the past 2 years of storing my things here, my rate has been raised twice. My original rent was under $80 a month. Today I received an email saying my rate will now be $92 a month. Its ridiculous. I didn't say anything the first time it was bumped to $86, or when they painted the inside walls inside and got a line of paint on my refrigerator. These rate hikes are dumb and I will be looking for another storage place immediately. read more

Easy setup online and came into the store the morning of my move to get a walkthrough and gate code. Susan was extremely helpful and such a delightful person to talk to. She was very patient with my questions and gave me a tour of the facility and showed me how to use the lift. She also lent my wife a hand when she came by herself and was having trouble opening our storage unit. All in all this place is well secured and Susan was the coolest person Ive met in awhile. We even talked about her family and my family for a bit. Cant say enough but thank you Susan. read more

Amazing customer service from Susan ! Free coffee , candy & water as you wait . Best prices out here & very clean . 10/10 highly recommend. Ps Remeber to unlock your yelp free boxes !! read more

Today was my first time here at this place. I had reserved a space online and I received courtesy call first thing in the morning from Susan. I have to say, Susan is the most wonderful lady to work with. She took the time to show me the space before I rented it. The coupon on the Yelp app was not working properly today, which would have allowed me to get 50% off my first month's rent, but all she needed was a screenshot sent to them, and there you go! 50% off my first month. Also, open checking in, you get 3 free small boxes. Hey, every little bit helps! After checking several different places, A1 has the best prices by far! 2 thumbs up ! read more

Maritza and A-1 Self Storage are wonderful. I rented for a few months while I was out of town. The entire process was really easy, and worth the price. Customer service is great. You can pay online as well, which was really helpful for me since I wasn't in the area. I really have nothing bad to say. The facility is nice, clean, and safe. Carts are available if you need it to haul all of your stuff in/out of a unit. I'm glad I found A-1 Storage :) read more

I walked into this storage facility 5 years ago and asked if they have units for rent, not only the staff was friendly when i was signing up, they are 5 years later. it is very very impressive, i had no issues with security, the grounds are kept clean, and from the managers to the staff they are all understanding and they are REALLY willing to work with you to get you what you needed, i went from a 10x12 now a 10x 20. Granted some of the staff have come and go, but one team member "Susan" she has always been there, and whenever i leave a message, either her or another staff will call back within the hour. What is amazing is, they make very detailed notes, if you call and someone else is helping you out, you can expect the same service and expectations from them as well. Highly recommended! read more

I have used quite a few of storages and A1 in El Monte is the only one actually I enjoy coming too. I feel very safe here and receive very good service. also, their packing materials are a good quality and affordable. read more

Just rented a storage space here today, and so far I have been very happy with the experience. Susan helped get me checked in, and gave some great advice about storage size, and she was particularly nice! Gate to get in with a unique code for your convenient access, clean, well maintained, and friendly staff. They do make you purchase insurance if you don't have any for your belongings already, which is $10/month, so be aware of this before you go in because it will add to your bill, but as far as I can tell this is pretty standard practice for self-storage. read more

Stopped by a few different storages & nothing compared to A-1 Self Storage. The price was the lowest in the city and the workers Susan & Maritza were the most helpful employees ever. They were so attentive and made sure we understood exactly what we were paying for and answered any questions we had. Best storage experience ever! read more

Great first experience. Susan was a great help and walk us through step by step. Definitely recommended this place.

Stuff Susan very nice, very helpful, thank you. Highly recommended. I got a 8x10space with a reasonable price. The space was very clean, enough lights. Only difficulty was the key pad are far away from the drive way, you will have to got off your car and punching the numbers. It's really not convenient during the raining day. Other parts so far so good. read more
