I also asked about the new customer discount (first two months would be half off), and she explained that that would be available for certain units depending on scarcity of the unit. At first, she stated that the option for that discount wasn't available since I was taking the last of a specifically sized unit, but then she made it happen. And I very much appreciated it! She was kind and patient throughout the process and worked quickly to ensure that we could get our unit before the end of the day. This place is very competitively priced, and the units are clean. They'll go over the process of how to get in and whatnot when you rent out the unit. They also sell locks in case you need one on the spot.

The first time I walked into the office, it was extremely small, and there was a very strong unpleasant odor. I have a very sensitive nose, and I couldn't stay inside for more than a few minutes. I went back to my truck and completed my reservation over the phone instead. After finishing the reservation, I returned to complete the rental. They assigned me a 10x10 unit located in the middle of a narrow driveway where two trucks cannot pass each other. As I started unloading my belongings in the heat, an employee came up to me with a rude attitude and told me I had to move my truck. I asked her, "Should I stop unloading every few minutes to move my truck, or do you have another unit where this won't be a problem?" She simply said no. I then went to the office and asked if they could move me to a different unit. I explained that if they couldn't, I would rather cancel my rental and get a refund. Instead of trying to help, the employee became aggressive. She started yelling at me in front of other customers, got in my face, and even called me names. I was shocked by her behavior. I have never seen someone working in customer service act so unprofessionally. Her behavior was completely unacceptable and honestly made me feel unsafe. To make matters worse, another truck became stuck in front of my unit, so I couldn't continue unloading. I waited for hours, left to get water, came back, and the situation still hadn't been resolved. What should have been a 10-minute move turned into a five-hour nightmare because of the poor layout and lack of organization. When I spoke to the manager, she immediately defended the employee before even listening to my side of the story. I asked to speak with a supervisor, but she refused to provide any contact information. Instead of resolving the situation, they made it even worse. I canceled my rental, asked for my refund, and left. I took my business to another storage facility where the staff treated me with respect, the property was organized, and there was proper space to park while unloading. That's how a storage facility should operate. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The staff is rude, the management is unprofessional, the property is poorly designed, and they clearly do not care about their customers. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and completely disappointed. Save yourself the stress and rent a storage unit somewhere else.

Management was blase about it, saying the lock hadn't been tampered with, and since I am the only one with keys, they didn't know what to tell me. The indifferently told me to call the police to file a report, if I wanted to. It didn't make any difference, since I didn't have a written inventory or receipts for what was in the unit, and felt like filing an insurance claim would be pointless. I was having health issues and there was no way for me to try to inventory all my things at that point. In frustration I bought a new lock and relocked the unit. Inside, thieves had cut open boxes and thrown things all over. I suggested an adjustment on a couple months' rent and was told no. A few weeks later I was called and ordered to inspect my unit immediately since there had been a fire in an adjoining unit and sprinklers had gone off. At first glance, things seems ok and dry. It was hard to tell because my boxes were packed pretty densely. At this point I decided to get out asap. When I rented 14 months ago, rent was $85 a month. There have been three increases since then, with rent going up to $175. I have been getting my things out a car load at a time, and some items indeed were ruined by water--precious books, papers, and expensive oriental rugs ruined. Things with sentimental meaning that cannot be replaced. I finally have everything out and am ending my lease this month. I have paid approximately $2K to have much of my stuff essentially ruined. I am really disappointed and feel like this business is concerned only about bottom line profit, not customers. Storing things here was a waste of money and time.

I feel terrible for forgetting her name but the very courteous, professional woman at Storbox that greeted me was a real life saver. It was late in the day, they were open for 1 more hour and she was able to go over contract details, storage unit sizes/prices and standard grounds procedures/protocols so efficiently that I was still able to return to my new unit within operating hours and achieve my goal of having all my items safely and securely relocated by the days end. There are multiple storage location options in Pasadena but Storbox was the one to come through in my time of need and I can confidently recommend this location without a doubt.

I have meant to recommend this A-1 for the 9 years or so I have stored things there: 1. Safe w/o doubt to walk to, use, 7 days 7a-7p. The neighborhood is clean; a new Citibank at the end of the block West, across from a newish Starbucks; a hi-tech gasoline-convenience store-station 1/2 block East next to the 10 freeway, shopping center across from the Citibank. 2. more than enough units, garage size to "hall closet" size (although the latter are rarely available as far as I know): guessing 50 garage size, 250-300 large bedroom size to half that. Business and personal uses. I can only attest to my building being comfortable in chilly or hot or humid weather: the ceilings are about 8 feet high, strong fans going as necessary My guess is that the three two story buildings are 20, 15, and 30-40 years old (the last nicely remodelled, well-built) 3. Everything---office, parking lots, halls, unit walls, floors,doors---is kept very clean, up to date in paint (no grafitti ), pest-free. 4. Sprinklers. 5. Having to happen to see part of the core structure to the building I have used, where I saw seemingly a 4-foot thick nearly pyramidal concrete/steel beam structure between walls, and considering thick ply , attached to steel(?) stud interior wall framing, over the inside of outer walls, the latter appearing to be capable of flexing above the first story, my estimate is that the building and its contents would stay intact in even the 1-2 minute long quake simulated by the USGS for the valley. It is difficult to imagine the dam upstream breaking, flooding as a result. The dam was built after the shallow flood took place circa 1920. 6. Everyone who works in the office, or each of the few who have transferred, has always been pleased about working there, and ,so, congenial or gracious and readily informative about inquiries and arrangements, making each phase easy and momentary. 7. The only real inconveniences I find: not having two different unit sizes of my choice anytime; shelves not provided. (A&A Boltless about two miles away has a range of shelving). (Home Depot, Grants/Max's, etc sell ladders.) My estimate is that units have always been available, not necessarily w/i range of the size wanted: these days, probably any size wanted. read more

I wanted to rent a small place that was clean, safe, with good lighting and had air conditioning. The first place I called quoted me a price for more space than I needed, I'm not sure if they had smaller spaces but they didn't offer it, it would've been twice the price. This storage facility was fair and the customer service was great. Maritza and Susan were polite and friendly, they explained everything with patience and showed me and my friend around with courtesy. If you are more than 30 days late they charge you additional $200 for "auction fees" that's before the. legal 60 day auction lien fee when your payment is legally in default not to mention they increase at their discretion an additional 40% and charge you for an additional protection fee . I never received my 30 day notice of price increase and they BAMBOOZLED me. This is my personal experience. luckily I have proof and documentation of it all.
