Having lived in apartments or with roommates for all of my adult life, I haven't yet had to deal with calling plumbers. A sewer scope came highly recommended by the realtor for the house I'm buying so I googled "$99 sewer scope" and these guys popped up. They were very friendly over the phone and accomodated a last minute Saturday morning appointment (even though Saturdays are busy for them). The guy that showed up was very nice and good about involving us all in the exciting process and viewing of watching a camera crawl up the sewer line. We even got a DVD so that years down the road, we can re-live the memory of the exploration. I'll be sure to file this one with "Carly at one" and "Carly's Kindergarten musical". Our sewer scoper (I believe his name was Jesse) also had very handy advice about what not to flush down the toilet as well upkeep I should perform to keep my 120 year old sewer line moving things along smoothly. He was a bit late, but I think he had a pretty tight schedule for the day, especially as I was accomodated at the last minute. A relatively quick and painless experience! read more

Great customer service, very funny guys, easy to work with.... They told me the exact problem and showed me what to do and what not to do. *Note to self: Never use Drain-O. It's bad for the drains....eats away at everything, INCLUDING the pipes, leading to larger problems and ultimately more money.* Why didn't I give them 5 stars, you ask? We called $99 Rooter to clear a clogged main line. The guy spent about 45 minutes and was on his way. Three days later it's backed up again. Their service is warranted so we call again. A different guy who appears to be a meth junkie comes out and works at it for about an hour. He tells me some story that we need to have it camera scoped and that HE fulfills the warranty - meaning, if we have any other problems we have to pay again. The next day the line is backing up again. We call Colorado Sewer Service and they charge what our usual is...$200. He spends nearly 3.5 hours clearing roots and double checking his work. It's been clear since. We do not reccommend. read more

I'm in the process of buying an old house. After DeWayne of Mainline Services scoped the sewer pipe and found a clog, a realtor called in 99 Rooter. They came, and they did their thing, and they said "It's clean!" And we said great. Then DeWayne came back and re-scoped the sewer pipe. It was clean up to 100FT; at 100FT, it was still clogged. We called the city and had them check their end. Then we had 99 Rooter come back, at which time they said "Wait, you scoped again?!" As in, "wait, you checked our work?" Supposedly, they cleaned it again. But, after a 3rd visit from DeWayne, we discovered the pipe IS STILL CLOGGED. Bottom Line, 99 ROOTER LIED to us, twice. I understand that their equipment might only go to 100 FT, but to lie and tell us it's clean when it's clearly not? At least say, hey, this is still clogged, or we think it's still clogged, as we can only go out to 100FT with our equipment. At this point, several of us involved in the buying/selling process of this house have spent a ton of money on scoping and cleaning, and THE SEWER PIPE IS STILL CLOGGED. Thanks for nothing, 99 Rooter. Or I guess I should say thanks for lying. Bottom line--if you have anything that might even be a tad bit more involved or complicated than a very basic cleaning of a very short sewer pipe (less than 100 FT) DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. read more

This joke of a company charged me $600 to clean a main line clog at my mobile home park. The tech worked for under two hours which equates to robbery. They charge per time they shove the tool down the pipe. They are great! They were quick, thorough, professional and honest. I had what could have been a very bad situation with roots and other stuff that had collected in the main. They diagnosed the problem and went above and beyond to remedy it. My final bill was well over $99 but I was more that happy to pay because they were so great and persistent. They could have just walked away and it would have been a bigger problem. But they didn't; they stayed until the job was done. Really saving me money down the road. Well worth it! They have you sign a blank screen on a phone without telling you what you are signing for. $99 Rooter is not a deal. They sent out a technician named Michael. He was using snap chat during the job that he could not resolve. He tried 3 time and gave up. He said it was a loose clog. Which is better described as a milk shake. I've had my old guy who retired, unfortunately, work these kind of clogs and they eventually drop and the drain is clear. We have plenty of rental properties and plenty of clogged lines to know a good or even decent technician. To add insult to injury, when he wanted to collect for the unfinished job he wanted to collect an extra $20 for the trip charge to Brighton. The person on the phone when I first contacted this poorly ran company said the trip charge to Brighton was $20. He wanted to charge $40. I just wasted $90 for an unfinished job. I called this company and scheduled an appointment for the next day. First I was told that I was out of area and would have to pay 20$ extra for that. I agreed and made the appointment but required to give my CC number. My time was to be 5-6 on Wednesday. At 4 pm I was called and told that the guy would be late and at 5 I was called again and told that a machine went down and I would have to reschedule. We reschedule for 1-2 on Thursday and I was called 3 times pushing my time back to 5-6 and then to "sometime later" they didn't know when because this time a person didn't show up. I was also told that the technicians do not work for this company. They are independent contractors and they company cannot make them come to my house. I was called again once more at 6:15 to tell me that there was a broke down van and I would have to reschedule for next week. Really? Next week. How does one do business like this? Do Not use this company. They are merely a phone center for independent rooter guys. Bad company. I wish that I could give no stars. read more

Came out to snake my kitchen sink. Didn't drain thoroughly when he was done but was told to give it a day or so and that we had a 30 day warranty. It has been 40 days and it is now clogged again, they want to charge me another 99$ to come back out. I have used 99 Rooter for over 10 years, since I owned my first house. They used to be a great company, not only professional, but also earnest about getting the job done well. My last couple of experiences with them have not been so great, and the most recent one in particular left a bad taste in my mouth. The technician from 99 cleaned out some tree roots, and I decided to have the line scoped by another company later that same day in preparation to potentially replace the sewer line. However, the line couldn't be scoped all the way because we ran into tree roots 14' into the line. Since my 99 rooter receipt listed that they have a limited warranty for 30 days after their work, I decided to call them and just let them know that the line still had an obstruction in it and see what they would offer to do. After a little bit of runaround, the conversation ended with the guy on the phone asking what I wanted to do about the tree roots that were blocking the sewer line. (Note that he didn't offer any solution to me, as the customer.) I told him, you know what, I will call someone else to do the clean out, and he told me okay, and we ended the conversation. So, to summarize, not very good customer service, not very good follow-up, not even a courtesy: I'm sorry to hear that, sometimes when lines have a lot of build-up in them, it can require a more extensive cleaning, I will have to charge you for another trip, but I can discount that since we've already been out there once...Bottom line, I no longer recommend this rooter company. Try Jake the Snake or Diamondback Drains instead. They are smaller operations, but they can actually do a job well and stand behind their work. read more

I just bought a fresh flip and called $99 rooter to fix a slow drain and a toilet that backed up rather than flush. The man on the phone told me the prices and that if the toilet needed to be pulled, there would be no extra charge. Two men came and left. The tub worked out, but 2 flushes later, the toilet backed up again. The same 2 men came back out, and this time they did pull the toilet and unplugged the drain. They charged me again! I told them that it was unfair to charge me when they didn't exhaust their options when they were here the first time. They became very patronizing and told me that plumbing fairies had smiled upon us. I called the office manager who said he wouldn't charge me but if they had to come out, even if it's tomorrow, they'll charge me full price then hung up on me. 2 stars because they eventually did fix the issue, but no more because I didn't need to be made fun of, yelled at, or hung up on. We experienced a major back-up 3 days after I called $99 Rooter in for their rooter service. They came back and did a $99 camera scope to see what the reason was, and on the video we saw a major paper build-up (that was actually knocked loose by the camera) along with extensive root growth at the joints. My question is, why would this paper build-up and root growth still be there 3 days after they supposedly did the rooter work... and if a camera could knock it loose, why did't the actual rooter blade do anything? These guys are cheap and responsive, but not necessarily the best option based on my experience. read more

I am mostly glad with the prompt response and eventual results of the work done because it was overdue and we needed an immediate remedy to be able to use our toilet. But these guys were very unprepared for the job they were doing. When sewage (roots, dirt included) started coming out, which it's going to do, there needed to be something there to catch it and there wasn't! The assistant had to run up and out to their truck for the wet-vac and then I had to ask him to please vac up the liquid, which by that time had crept along an entire wall. These guys are great! I had called another company who advertised $99 and then showed up and wanted $350. I asked them to leave and got these guys' name from a neighbor instead. They fit me in 2 hours later and they were exactly as advertised. Tough drain clog, but they got it cleared - for $99. I had them look at another drain - but they determined it didn't need clearing - they didn't try to up-sell me on unnecessary services. And... courteous, timely and tidy! I can't say enough bad things about this company. Certainly do not ever think to use them for a house inspection, which we did, and not only were they completely unprofessional and provided us and the sellers with wrong information, but because of their misdiagnosis (which took two separate visits from technicians) we lost money in negotiations with the sellers. THEN they offer to make up the difference and THEN take back the offer. The most dishonest crooked people I have ever worked with. STAY AWAY!!! I literally almost took legal action and then decided it wasn't worth my time, but I want the world to know just how awful they are. Not even so much as a refund for the $99. Terrible. read more

I'm completely satisfied with the service I received from this company. My call was answered on the third ring and handled very professionally. Mark Ford came out one hour after my call and had main line back and flowing in under an hour. He didn't try to sell me any other service and the total bill was $99.00. I would recommend this company. If you call them ask for Mark Ford he is good and he has been a plumber for years not just some one who cleans drains so he really knows what he's doing. I agree with another reviewer, these days it's a 'crapshoot' the kind of technician you get when you call a plumping company to get something fixed. My dad (a general contractor) was trying to find a clog in our pipes that made the bathroom sink drain very slowly (it would actually get backed up). Finally, I said let's just call a rooter (I've used this company to snake a couple systems while searching for a home to buy, and the techs were really nice, professional). I called them again, and was told if roof access is necessary, it would cost extra -- that's cool, I like to know beforehand. Well roof access wasn't necessary, and the tech who came spent 3 HOURS snaking, looking, analyzing, and scrutinizing what the heck was wrong. My dad was around and he told me all this. Finally, the tech opened up a wall, cut a hole in the drain pipe and found 2 POUNDS of cement and dirt someone had (for some reason) tried to dump down the drain pipe! WHAT?! HAHAHAHA! He removed the clog, patched up the pipe and wall, and charged the company price: $99. I think my dad was very happy with his work and gave him a tip. The tech earned it, companies need to look for and MAKE SURE they hire techs like him. I don't know his name, but he deserves this rating. read more

Called $99 Rooter on Tuesday afternoon because I needed a scope of my main sewer line to be done ASAP so I could have mudjackers come in to lift up my basement floor. I was able to get an appointment for that same day, and DeWayne provided excellent service. He was very friendly and personable and showed me what was going on with my line, as well as mapped my line so the mudjackers would know where to drill. Best of all: this service only cost $99. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for plumbing/sewer services. read more

Don't recommend at all. Had a sewer main back up and was charged 99 for "trying" to clear it. OK, whatever, it was out of their league. I had requested a post cleaning scope. The rooter guys suggested I do the scope anyway so we could determine next steps and the scope guy came and scoped but I didn't receive the video for several days so I had to pay another company to scope to figure out what was going on and then fix it. Called and emailed the office multiple times and they kept blaming it on their "subcontractor". When I finally got the video after several days it showed the contractor had sent it in within the promised time-frame but the $99 Office Rooter was sitting on it. read more

Tell them you do NOT want Fred to come do your plumbing work. They sub contract out. All other people have been very nice from $99 dollar rooter. Fred was here for 7 minutes, did not open or looked in pipe at all. He just asked when the last rotor rooter was done, I sad maybe 5 or 10 years ago. Right away he said oh I will be here a long time maybe all day. I asked why, he said my sewer line is full of tree roots so it will be a long time and a lots more money. Remember he never even looked in pipe or back yard to even see if I had trees!!!! I told him the only tree I had was at back ally 65 ft. from the area, I had already put a steel fish tape (stiff wire used by electricians to run wires in walls) so I already knew blockage was about 8 ft. from cleanout in pipe, 57 ft. from ally tree. He said that did not matter roots can come from anywhere??? He said even from that far. I told him that 2yrs. ago we had the same company out to clean the main straight sewer line that this sub sewer line connects into, they had no problems. THIS STRAIT SEWER LINE IS THREE FEET FROM TREE HE SAID ROOTS HAD GROWN 57 FEET FROM THAT IS BLOCKING THIS PIPE IN HOUSE. This guy should not be in pluming, He appears to be dumb as a rock (sorry rocks) DO NOT LET THIS GUY IN YOUR HOUSE!!!!! Had a main sewer clog, meaning no plumbing was usable in the house until it got fixed. It was late Saturday afternoon. I called several emergency plumbers to no avail, then my friend told me about these guys. So, I called later Saturday eve and someone answered! He couldn't send a plumber that late, but he would have a dispatcher call at 9 on Sunday morning, and they actually called! And came less than an hour later. And they were wonderful. So friendly, educated us about our plumbing, and they really were only $99. Definitely would recommend them and use them again. read more
