I'm taking time to write a review based upon one overarching factor, to wit: before the rotor rooter employee began the actual sewer line unblocking process I told him I didn't want to hear about how I should pay for a scope because he believed there might be an issue. The scam in this industry is to say that they discovered something during the process of the rotor rooter procedure that leads them to believe there's a major problem with your system and then charge $300 for a "video" scope of the sewer line. The last four rotor rooter companies have all opined they believe there's a major issue and I should have a scope done. The fact of the matter is I had a sewer line video scope professionally completed and there was no indication of any problems with the integrity of my sewer line. It is my belief and opinion these companies, including this one, particularly exploit elderly people finding them to be more gullible and vulnerable. My advice to anyone who believes they may have a bona fide sewer line integrity issue, is that they have a scope done by a party that will not do any actual repair or replacement of a sewer line but rather is engaged solely in independent testing and not aligned in anyway with an entity that will remedy the alleged problem. Despite being told I had already had my line independently tested and no flaws or problems were revealed the service provider employee insisted I should have a sewer line scope done because " his boss" said something could be wrong with my line. I asked how much such a scope would be and he told me $299. So typical. Run Forrest run! Caveat emptor! Let the buyer beware! All of that being said despite the sales pitch, they did a good job on the actual rotor routing service and I gave the guy a $25 tip for doing so . read more

Promptness: I called $99 Rooter on a Sunday afternoon to schedule a service call for Monday. Much to my surprise, the dispatcher indicated that he could have a tech here in less than 2 hours. As promised, Rocky ( the tech assigned to my job) arrived precisely at the agreed upon time. Such promptness is a rarity in this day and age and greatly appreciated as my time is valuable. Professionalism: The professionalism exhibited by $99 Rooter began the minute that they answered the phone. My call was answered immediately without having to listen to a long litany of phone options or being placed on indefinite hold. The dispatcher was notably upbeat and enthusiastic as he gathered the necessary information and set my appointment. Upon his arrival, master technician Rocky , who was neatly dressed and well groomed, introduced himself, asked me to describe the problem in detail. Rocky set up his equipment and went right to work. As a property manager who owns lots of tools I was highly impressed with the state of the art equipment that Rocky brought to the job. Pride: It was readily apparent that Rocky takes genuine pride in his work. One is less likely to find an honest politician than someone who takes pride in their work these days. After clearing the drain Rocky tested it repeatedly and on the final test invited me to observe. After confirming that the work had been done to my satisfaction he explained the warranty and encouraged me to reach out to $99 Rooter if for any reason I was less than 100% satisfied. Before leaving, Rocky took it upon himself to clean the soap scum around the drain that had developed due to the slow drain problem (Who does that?). A backed up basement sink didn't drain a drop overnight. I snaked it, but my 25 foot snake got jammed at about 12' and wouldn't come out any further. Nathan came within an hour and a half, and found the clog about 15' out, and ran the snake out to fifty feet to make sure there were no other problems. Fast response, excellent work and cleanup, couldn't be happier with this service. I was concerned however after the fact with the number of really bad reviews. I will be asking for Nathan by name if I need another plumber. read more

I've used this company for close to 8 years. Always pleased, always fair pricing. Had them 2 weeks ago, pricing increased a lot, I called, they explained the difference. Ok. Now after two weeks I had a clog, called first thing in the morning, was told 11-12. At 1:10 I called. Sorry, can't get a hold of the tech, and there is no one else available. I asked if there had been an owner change because the difference in the company was apparent.Yes there had been. So I can add this business to the list of DO NOT USE. In today's world, very few businesses treat my emergency as if it is their emergency. 99 Rooter is the exception. When our handyman wasn't able to solve the drain problem for one of our tenants whose kitchen sink was backing up, he referred me to 99 Rooter. They were professional and helpful and scheduled me for a technician first thing the next day. They were able to solve the problem and went above an beyond in communicating with me so I could let the tenant know when they would arrive. Charges were exactly as they promised they would be. The added bonus: I noticed that my card was charged for the appointment twice and before I had time to call and check on it, I received an email from the company saying they noticed a double charge and had immediately refunded it. They terrified my friend that was staying at the house when the sewer backed up, by not calling as promised before they arrived - disheveled and snarly. I set an appointment a week ahead for a yearly preventive sewer clean out. They did not show up at the time scheduled. When called to see if they were still going to make their set appointment they claimed their tech came out and knocked on the door and nobody answered. They wanted an extra $ 75.00. to come out in order to do the job. We were home waiting and our security camera did not show them being at our house as they had said. BEWARE!! 99 Rooter is nowhere close to what they charge. We had them come out to rooter a blocked main sewer line. They attempted to rooter it and said they couldn't get through and charge us $166. Then they suggested jetting the line - quoted us $450 for the first hour, then $350 for each additional hour. We authorized for 2 hours and they cleared it in less than 2 hours and charged us an additional $1700, making our grand total over $1860. Not to mention they left a complete mess in the bathroom and destroyed our carpet. Completely unreasonable on the phone when trying to get an answer on the overbill. Justin the tech came out. Wow, what an exemplary person and employee. Justin went above and beyond using a camera both to line out to tap, and to inside of house. Stay away from these crooks. They use a bait and switch tactic on quoting for jobs. They only quote via text and require that you approve of them doing the job based on their "estimate", then they charge 2 or 3 times as much. They are only quoting on their estimate of materials and leaving out their labor! What good is an estimate if it doesn't include what is likely the most expensive part of the job? They bought out Pipe Cam which was a terrific company that did great work and didn't do the lazy susan smorgasbord of fees (like some restaurants do for added food items) for every item of work. They increased fees a bunch over pipe cans previous lump sum prices i.e. charging $50 to pull a toilet which takes 5 minutes and no new materials to replace. Pipe Cam included that in there total charge. So I guess we shouldn't have got "the bake potatoes and peas" to get a fair price. On top of this, we had our line camera checked the week before by another company (owned by a family friend) and there were no clogs or plugs, only minor roots at pipe joints which we wanted removed for a future buyer/sale. read more
