BURNT - After seated it took a long time to get the pizza and when we did the pizza was very burnt, when I told the waiter he didn't seem to care. It was so bad my very hungry kids couldn't eat it. They still charged us $15 each for these 2 very small pizza. Everyone was upset, I will never go back. Great idea but no quality control or care. read more

Pizza was yummy. The restaurant was REALLY loud. There was loud music blasting over head. Our dinner conversation was mostly, "What?", "Huh?" , "Pardon me?" Wheelchair access is inconveniently located in the rear and up an elevator. They serve unique wood oven pizza and more. read more

As an update, after I posted my previous review the owner sent me and insulting private message on yelp. Did not address any of the issues in my review, or ask what I think could be improved, he just insulted me. It shows a lack of professionalism as well as a disregard to any aspects of customer service. This place has great outdoor seating as well as indoors. The food has always been delicious. All of the pizzas from the menu thus far been great. Try some of the appetizers too. That are delicious. The service has been hit or miss for the past few times we've been there. There really isn't much to complain about. I would give it a try. The pizzas feed 2 people and to make it a complete dinner I recommend an appetizer as well just to make sure your full at the end. read more

Friday night I had the pleasure of eating dinner at 900 Degrees with my family. 900 Degrees never disappoints! We ordered several appetizers including the delicious PEI muscles, fried calamari, and beet salad. I tried the shrimp scampi with spaghetti and it was delicious... we also tried the shrimp scampi and margarita pizzas. debating between 3 and 4 stars. pizza from their special oven was tasty, though crust was rather soft and bread-like. at least it was different, unlike any other pizza we tried, both famous and obscure, in ny and in italy. prices might be wild, but their 'wild' mushrooms are not. they looked and tasted like ordinary white mushrooms from your local supermarket. given the prices, they could have been more generous with these generic mushrooms, instead of 1 or 2 very thinly sliced mushrooms per pie. salad had a nice balsamic dressing, but the portion was tiny. normally, portions that small are complementary. pasta was good and portions generous. though again, at these prices they should at least offer freshly grated cheese, not old cheese shaker found at your $1-slice pizzeria. we might come back, if only to try other things on their interesting menu. read more

The best, most creative pizza around! Terrific menu, friendly staff, casual but chic atmosphere while being very accommodating to families with kids. The outside seating is awesome in the warmer months. Great tasting thin crust pizza. The fungi and margarita pies were delicious. These are not your usual giant sized pies so definitely order one per person. The large is about 12 inches. We have yet to return to try some of their several appetizers and other selections on the menu. Nice decor, goid service, very clean, option to sit outside on terrace. The pizza is outstanding , trust me there are many pizza restaurants in the area but 900 is far above all the others . I would even go as far as saying it's slightly better than Star Tavern in Orange. The salads and entrees are also great , the decor and atmosphere add to the great ambience of this place . Calamari were pretty good, the New Yorker pie was excellent, and the Shrimp Scampi pie was 'ehh' (too greasy). Service was weak.

This was our 3rd time eating dinner at 900 Degrees. We were seated right away on a Saturday night with no reservation. The place quickly filled up so we must have hit it just right. We had calamari as an appetizer, and it was very good. I had the seared chicken entree and my husband had the chicken Parmesan. My entree was served about 5 minutes before my husbands so I had to start eating without him so it wouldn't get cold -- it was delicious. My husbands entree was overdone (the mozzarella cheese was brown),though he said it still tasted pretty good. Service was just okay. We probably would have stayed for dessert, but the party of 4 seated behind us was extremely loud, and we were having a hard time having a conversation with each other. Normally I wouldn't complain about something like this but they were really disruptive, even banging on the table at times. It kind of ruined the whole cool atmosphere thing this place normally has. read more

Came here last night with my wife. Place was busy. Nice atmosphere. My wife had the asparagus and bean salad (served warm) which was delicious. The wedge salad was ok, kind of plain. We shared a Margerita pizza which was good. A little pricey for a small bar pie but tasty. Shared gelato for dessert which was good. Will return in the future. read more

I had heard about this restaurant from a friend and decided to meet some other friends there for dinner. Fantastic! We had the choice to eat inside or outside on the patio. Pleasant and very attentive staff. Had several appetizers including broccoli rabe and sausage that was outstanding as well as several oversized meatballs and a stuffed rice ball dish. The pizza was incredible. "The Boardwalk" and the "New Yorker." Delicious, cooked perfectly and super fresh ingredients. Topping the meal off was the cannoli cream pie dessert. It's BYOB so you can bring in a bottle of wine or something else to drink. Not overpriced either. I'm definitely going to return. read more

Went the other night with wife and daughter. They had the broccoli soup to start with, it was a special that night, and they both enjoyed it. I had the 900 degree mussles which were very spicy, as stated on the menu. I dislike when a place states their food is spicy and is not. We oredered two pizza's, but be forewarned their pizza is on the small side. Our crust on both pizzas was black, not charred in spots, black. I stated this to the waiter, and he didn't seem to care. On the way out I stopped by the oven and told them whoever is making the pizzas is burning the hell out of them. Once again they didn't seem to care. Food is good. Staff is pleasant but need a little more experience. It will come with time. Definitely go back.

Been a couple of times good experience just opened overall they are working out a few kinks but the pizzas are decent. Clean new place... friendly... helpful. Mussels are awesome (get the 900 degree ones-the others are just average). They have some Italian dinners as well but have not tried yet. Great addition to the area. read more

We drove by on our way to somewhere else....it looked new and inviting. It is in a new line of sidewalk shops across from the new Towaco train station. A huge ceramic oven sits center stage where a wood fire blazes inside. We were promptly seated. The menu isn't huge but has a lot of interesting items. Pastas, hot and cold appetizers,salads and a full page of specials on a separate sheet. The place looks amazing inside...right at home in Aspen Co. The pizzas are prepared and cooked in full view of customers. The whole room transmits the odors of basil and garlic as everything is prepared. We ordered fried calamari, garlic bread and a margarita pizza. The squid was nice and fresh, light cornmeal dusting and very crispy, and a generous portion. The accompanying sauce was lightly seasoned and perfect. The garlic bread was enjoyed by my family-they seemed to like it. I had the pizza, very artesimal and excellent. fresh mozzarella and fresh basil...really perfect. I would expect and have had pizza like this in Europe, in tiny little family run pizzerias in Germany, Italy and France. Make no mistake, this is not NY style pizza...this is a small crafted and fresh pie about 12-14" inches in a 1000 deg oven. I am counting the days till I come back to try every specialty pie on the menu. My new favorite place. The best part-a gourmet experience and I was out the door for $34 plus tip. Tried this place on 8-5-17. Walked in, place was empty, so we had our choice of seating. The hostess brought us to our seat and there we began to wait. A person who may have been our waiter stopped by asked where our wine was to which we said we didn't want any. He made a weird sound, took our glasses away, and there began the waiting process...15 mins of time passed before we left... My family and I were excited a new brick oven pizza place was opening walking distance from our home. We went the second night it was open. While the pizza was good, the crust was burnt (which I felt could be due to the inexperience with the new oven). I needed two personal pies for my two daughters and at $15 each I am extremely disappointed at the pricing and would not be surprised if they fail. I only hope that Rails doesn't overprice their menu we aren't all NJ Housewives!!! read more

Pizza is way too tough... When they first opened the pizza was light and airy with charred bubbles in it. I would never order pizza from here. Maybe if I visit again I would order an entree... But boy they missed the mark on the pizza and the dough.. Was so much better when the place first opened. Small portions and way too expensive for what they give you. read more

Great little BYO place around the corner from where we live with the attractive decor, sitting outside, good food and service. What is not to like? Meatballs and calamari were pretty good. We ordered two pizzas - one with arugula figs and prosciutto and the second one with suprosata. We loved the first one and we liked the second one. I live in Montville and had called earlier during the week (Tuesday) and made reservations for 7pm this evening (Saturday) for 6 people. We arrived at 6:50 and didn't get seated until 8pm! Whereas the food was good (we shared 3 pizzas, and 3 apps (the mussels were excellent)) standing in a crowded entranceway for an hour ruined our first visit there. The owner graciously tried to make amends by offering us a free platter of italian cold cuts and cheese but the place was far too small for those fortunate enough to be seated. I just don't understand why if reservations are made far enough in advance, and accepted, why anyone would have to wait an hour to be seated?! read more
