We are frequent fliers at this location. Get basically the same thing every time. Disappointed tonight when I was brought a glass of wine that wasn't the wine I ordered on the menu. I get this wine every time. The bartender presented it by its name to our table. It was not the wine I asked for. I notified my server who asked the bartender. She came back to our table to explain they stopped carrying the wine I ordered & this is the replacement. No offer to change my order or refund me. I understand menu items change. Was in Fort Wayne for work for a few days and was a bit concerned about what my food options would be like on this trip given there are not many gluten-free dining options in the area. Fortunately, I found 800 Degrees which can make gluten free thin crust pizza! Dined in with co-workers and we were all very happy with our meals here! You can dine in, but have to order your food up at the counter. I ordered one of their signature pizzas on a gluten-free thin crust pizza, the Salsiccia which was amazing & had a great wood-fired taste to it: tomato sauce, mozzarella, sweet Italian sausage along with garlic, rosemary and olive oil. They have a great selection of signature pizzas or you can build your own. They also have a good selection of appetizers and salads, pastas, calzones and desserts along with an impressive beer and wine selection for a small pizza place! The service was also great here. Everyone was really friendly and never once made us feel rushed considering we ordered our food very close to closing and we were the last ones in the establishment. Will definitely come back here for food when in Fort Wayne for work again. read more

For starters, the pizza here was good. I tried two different kinds and enjoyed them both. My only complaint is that the restaurant is small. There was a 10 minute wait for a table, then quite a long wait for the food. As it stands though it was worth the wait. Everything was delicious and I would go back to the restaurant again. My husband and I come here every couple of weeks, and every time we have a good experience. My only suggestion to them would be they have servers all the time. Sometimes I go in and they say to order at the counter and others they have a wait staff. They say its the difference between lunch and dinner, but really it's whatever I think there situation is that day. Makes it kind of confusing. Came with a group of friends while in Fort Wayne for the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Husband and I each got a half salad (I got the Misto, he got a Caesar) and we split a pizza - Verdure, with kalamata olives on my half. It was excellent! We chose to sit on the non-service side (as opposed to sitting in the bar section.) Our group of 6 was seated right away, which is impressive for a Saturday night at 7:15. Our food came out quickly, though in kind of a confusing order - the last couple to order got their pizza first, and then our salads came, and then a long wait for the other 2 pizzas? Oh well. The staff was very friendly. I won't say it was the best meal I've ever eaten, but the Verdure pizza was EXCELLENT (I recommend adding the kalamata olives for any olive fans, too - it balances out the heavier mushroom flavor!) and the prices are decent. The staff was very friendly and the decor was well done for a local place. I kept thinking it was a chain, but they source local meats and veggies, where possible. The pizza was delicious thin crust and delivered much more quickly than expected. The garlic bread is amazing, but only if you like grease. We're from out of town, but have relatives up here. I've had pizza in several different Italian cities including the great pizza mecca of Napoli and will assure you that this is the closest you'll get to the real thing in this area. The salads are amazing as well, with the Forno being my absolute favorite. Why is it missing a five star with food this good? I absolutely loathe the format in which you go about ordering/being served and here is why. You're definitely being served by a very hard working staff, but you're never being fully served, as you're ordering your food at the counter, with the only option to tip being before you ever get waited on. This leaves a lot of confusion in my opinion. Do you presumptively tip 20-25% hoping for it to serve as a self fulfilling prophecy? Is the waiter/waitress making a fair wage or are they making the wage of a traditional waiter/waitress? I want to compensate the person fairly, but also feel if you're adding 20% onto your bill, you should be fully waited on, not left wondering if you're supposed to refill your own drink...however I don't want someone busting their tail with too many tables feeling like they're getting stiffed. Also, depending on which of the 3 sections you sit in, the format changes. All that said, their food is so good that maybe this issue isn't needed to be addressed as we'll all keep coming back :). read more

We love 800 degrees! First of all, we always sit in the cozy bar section since we don't have kids yet. They always have awesome craft beers on tap and a nice wine selection (with big pours!). You have to start with either a Pirelli or bruschetta. Both are amazing. Next, the mista salad is awesome. It has a lemony vinaigrette with pine nuts and fennel. We have tried several pizzas but always go back to the margharita with a touch of sea salt. Everyone that works here is super friendly and the service is consistently great. read more

My favorite kind of pizza has crust that would also make good bread: chewy, flavorful, not greasy. It requires sufficient time for the yeast to develop, not through artificially rushing the dough but by making it fresh every day and patiently waiting for the dough to rise. This is the crust at 800 degrees. A great crust. That's 90% of the pizza. The owners are supportive of local farming and get the freshest ingredients. I am a fan of veggie pizzas (meat pizzas overwhelm the crust, in my opinion), and the restaurant has some outstanding choices, both the mixed mushroom and roasted vegetable pizzas have wonderful aromas and are a delight to the senses. I can't help chuckling about a few of the complaints about no one coming to take your order. You have to place your order yourself (look for the big sign that says 'order here'). I think if you sit in the section behind the bar they serve you but other than that you're on your own. Anyway, atmosphere is kinda odd, feels like I'm in a hall, very loud. This is the absolute best pizza. You will not go wrong stopping at 800 Degees. My favorite is the 800 Degree pizza which has sausage that they make daily, red peppers and ricotta cheese on top. It is absolutely delicious. It is spicy so beware if you are sensitive to spices. The pepperoni pizza is great too. The pizza is cooked in a large wood fire pit.
