Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Craved a sweet treat after lunch. Walked over to 7Gradi. The guy who helped us was amazing and encouraged us to try different flavors. We got the biscoff, ube, and mango passion fruit, which were all delicious. The biscoff was my personal fave. I also got to sample the strawberry, which was very refreshing. We enjoyed our gelato on the communal tables outside of the shop. This place had good gelato and great service and I definitely recommend!
Stopped in for a sweet treat and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! There was a great variety of flavors to choose from, and the whole place smelled amazing thanks to the fresh handmade waffle cones. We did have to wait a little while because of the line, but it was easy to see why it's so popular. The wait was worth it, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They're seating right outside, which was the perfect way to end our night. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors. Bonus points for the convenient parking in the SALT at Our Kakaʻako parking structure nearby!
7gradi is the perfect way to end the night after grabbing dinner at one of the neighboring eateries! I love the light and airy texture of their gelato and all the unique flavors. Rice has always been my favorite because of its slightly sweet and plain flavor. I also got the biscoff, and it tasted just like the cookie! Service here is friendly and quick. There's lots of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your ice cream. Just want to add that the new parking system here sucks. The QR codes are confusing, especially if you don't know how long you're going to stay for. It's also way more expensive than before. I used to love coming to all the places in SALT because it was convenient and parking was cheap. I cannot say that's the case anymore. Other than the parking, this is the perfect spot for a sweet treat!
I have to admit - gelato isn't always my sort of thing. While I certainly enjoy it, it doesn't hit the same for me as a more classic scoop of ice cream does. However, after my friends suggested grabbing some gelato at 7Gradi after lunch, I couldn't say no. For one, I was intrigued by what types of interesting flavors and concoctions we might find, but also because a nice, cold dessert is always a fantastic decision on such a warm day! Although it may not be tucked away in some corner of the complex, 7Gradi is somewhat easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Not hard to see why given how there's just enough space inside for a half dozen or so folks to order/pay. Similarly, the menu isn't very extensive either, but they still have a solid mix of about fourteen different flavors, as well as a few flavors of waffles to go with your scoop(s). Also, even though they may not have any seating of their own to offer, there are a bunch of tables right outside with umbrellas that provide some shade, too! -- PEACH MANGO Of the two, I thought this one was far better. The flavor of both the peach and the mango was strong yet neither overwhelmed the other (or my other flavor). Plus, I loved how smooth and silky the gelato was (even smoother and silkier than other gelatos I've had). -- BANANA CREAM Not too shabby, but this was more solid than spectacular. While the consistency of this one was just as smooth, the flavor wasn't quite as remarkable. Mostly, the taste of the banana felt a little muted and, for some reason, it tasted more like banana than banana cream. With regards to the service here, after reading multiple reviews about what others have experienced, it seems as though it can range from great to seriously lacking. Thankfully for us, it seems as though we got lucky and ended up coming on a good day - not only was the girl who helped us really friendly, but she was also super patient, helping us to sample multiple flavors before we eventually got about a half dozen orders. That being said, between the steady flow stream of customers that were stopping in and how she seemed to be the only one working, I wonder if understaffing could have something to do with it. Since this is the only gelato shop I've been to in Honolulu, I can't say how 7Gradi compares to others, but they feel like a pretty decent option. Plus, it's great how unique some of their flavors are, like Mascarpone Oreo and Farm Cheese, and how their offerings change with the seasons. I'd still prefer to get some shaved ice or perhaps a scoop of classic ice cream instead of gelato, but the next time I'm here at the SALT complex, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back again. All in all, THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded up.
Won a gift card at the Pinch of SALT event yesterday. Stopped by to redeem it since I'm in the area. We walked around in circles in the drizzling rain coz we missed the sign (smh). It's located across from Kahala and next to Lonohana Chocolate (as of Dec 2025). It's a little grab-and-go gelateria. The gelatos are in individual mixers. It's a pretty big variety of flavors with familiars (mint chocolate, chocolate, red velvet) and unfamiliar (rice, tangerine, green apple) etc. i had my mind set on mango yogurt and maybe lilikoi lemon but i decided to sample rice. It tastes nothing like cooked white rice haha and more like sweet cream. So I got that and tangerine. I really like the tangerine! $6.75 for a cup of up to two flavors. You can sample up to two flavors as well. You can add toppings for 50 cents per. The girl working today is friendly and welcoming. There are covered tables and seats in the courtyard area outside for folks to enjoy their gelatos. (And the umbrella coverage is sufficient enough to keep the chairs dry-- great design!)
Dropped by to try this gelato place and I'm glad we did. They have classic flavors, but everything tasted really good. I got the green apple and peach mango combo -- super refreshing, especially on a humid day. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Definitely a nice treat to cool down with. Will definitely come back for it.
Another 7gradi visit that didn't disappoint! I love how fresh and fragrant their vegan fruity flavors are. This time I got single cup with half raspberry dark chocolate chips and tangerine. Both vegan, both delicious, and unfortunately they were so good I inhaled my gelato in .25seconds. My only ask is can we PLEASE have some more savory vegan options? My favorite is always the vegan dark chocolate gelato and I would be ever so grateful if that was always on the menu
I came here for dessert on a Saturday evening after a nice dinner at Lani Sot upstairs. 7gradi has a rotating mix of 14 flavors all of which are a great mix of sweet, tart, or a combo of both. They also sell containers in a small freezer near the register. I got the single scoop with two flavors and selected Oreo mascarpone and toasted marshmallow. I appreciate that they offer 2 samples each since there are so many intriguing options. My daughter got ube and toasted marshmallow, my sister got biscoff and toasted marshmallow, and my husband got mango yogurt and ube. Everyone really liked theirs flavors. The toasted marshmallow was really subtle and unique and pairs well with bold flavors. It's so creamy and melts quickly so have your table picked out or begin eating immediately. Overall taste was really good and there are so many other flavors I would like to try next. Would also like to try their waffles. I've read people have had both excellent service and not so excellent. Unfortunately ours fell on the not so friendly side that night, but it's end of the night and the service industry is not easy so I get it. It would not deter me from trying again.

Gradi proves gelato doesn't need to be heavy to be unforgettable. I went with the tangerine and strawberry sorbets and they were next-level, smooth, refreshing, and packed with pure fruit flavor. No fake sweetness here, just sunshine in a cup. The shop is small and chic, and the display case is a full-on rainbow of temptation. Every color calls your name, and it's basically impossible to choose wrong. Huge bonus: tons of dairy-free options. Sorbet isn't an afterthought here, it's a headliner. If you're plant-based or lactose-sensitive, you'll feel spoiled instead of settling. 7 Gradi is a happy little spot with big flavor. Pro tip: just point to the color that vibes with you and go for it. It's so fruity and fresh it should probably count as your daily serving of fruit.
I've never had such a smooth, flavorful gelato in Honolulu until I tried 7Gradi Gelato. They're always changing their flavor lineup that's filled with unique flavors like Rice, Toasted Marshmallow (my favorite!), Guava Yogurt, and more. I got their Strawberry flavor, which is surprisingly refreshing, not too sweet, and very light. They also have sweet waffles that you can get with your gelato. Vibe: The workers are always very friendly. There's lots of outdoor seating and they have a small cooler on the side of the restaurant where you can purchase pints of gelato to take home. Parking: SALT Kakaʻako offers free parking in their parking structure for the first hour (no validation) and paid parking with validation for parking longer than one hour.

Love love this ice cream place. Ice cream here is made fresh daily and constantly mixing in their special mixer gadget. The texture is nothing like other ice creams I've had. It's stretchy and cream. This week they had a new flavor guava yogurt which I love because it was tart and sweet great treat after a long day at work. The way that the cashier scooped the ice cream was so nice too. Prices here aren't too bad either the single cup only $5 you can pick two flavors but I really liked the guava so I ended up picking only that! read more

By far the best gelato I have ever had on Oahu! It's so smooth! You can find this cute shop at Salt in Kakaako, in front of Vein and next to a chocolate shop. It's a small area so the line does head out the door quick if there's a lot of people but they do have fast service. I believe you can only sample 3 flavors from what I remember seeing a small sign. Honeydew - I would compare it too bubble tea rather than the melona ice creams (10/10) Ube - taste like any other Ube flavored thing (10/10) Toasted Marshmallow - I don't know how to describe the flavor of it but it didn't taste like toasted marshmallow to me but it went well with Ube (9/10) I didn't get the chance to try out the waffles but they did look so good and crisp! Definitely gonna go back to try the other flavors. read more

I love coming to 7Gradi whenever I'm in the area. Their gelato is always so soft and smooth. The texture is great. Def one of my favorite gelato places on the island. I got the rice and matcha gelato. The rice flavor is my favorite and it has a subtle sweet rice flavor. It tastes really close to rice flavored ice creams you get in Asia. Highly recommend! The matcha flavor was really good. Super strong matcha flavor and non of the bitterness. If you're in the area, this is a solid choice for some yummy gelato. read more

"GELATI" - Little Nicky voice The cashier provided us with samples of our choosing. That's always great because there were tons of flavors! I ordered the Toasted Marshmallow & Ube flavors. My husband ordered the Black Sesame and Toasted Marshmallow. We also shared an original waffle. The consistency of the gelato was a thick yet smooth and creamy. It was super delicious and was finished in just a few minutes. As for the waffle, I wish it was toasted. The flavor was great, but it was bit too sticky and soft for my tasting. I'd come back again to try the other flavors. read more

Nice place to get dessert after your meal at SALT. They typically have about a dozen different flavors. I like the fruit flavors. The combos like "cherry cheesecake" don't really work because unlike say Baskin Robbin's, there's no bits of crust or chunks of cheesecake in there. They do have unusual local flavors like Tangerine and Ginger Yuzu and they are excellent. I wonder if they are made with any local ingredients? Prices are about $6 for a single scoop (2 flavors max) or $8 for a double (3 flavors max). read more
I really cannot deny my love for this spot. I've really liked just about everything I've tried. Some more than others. But still, everything! And I'll keep coming back. I think they're here to stay, which I'm excited about. I can't remember what was in that spot last but either it didn't last long or wasn't memorable if it was there for a long time. I'm just super stoked we have this now. Granted it's not soOooOooO perfectly authentic but the texture is great. Flavors are great. And I love that it's not out and piled in the open like some gelato places and is contained. That was always the determining factor of the "better" gelato when I was in Italy, haha. I'm no expert though. But anyway. Definitely give them a try. Now I want to go back! read more

Delicious! My boyfriend who isn't from Hawaii said this was one of his favorite foods from the trip and possibly his favorite gelato ever! Their unique flavor options are refreshing and I've noticed that the flavors are strong and deep. The worker was very sweet and they also offer samples too! 7 Gradi Gelato. Can't wait to return. I ordered the tangerine flavor and the peach mango gelato. I ordered the tangerine for its vibrant color. So glad that I ordered it. I also had a waffle to eat with the gelato. I couldn't resist getting it and I'm glad that I did. The waffle was so delicious eating it with the gelato. There are so many flavors to select, and they all look good and I bet they are. 7 Gradi Gelato is located in the Salt in Kaka'ako. The interior and exterior of this cute gelato place is kept very tidy, upbeat, and brightly lit. The time that I went in the afternoon, there was a lot of parking but I don't like it. To me, the parking is too tight. I didn't have to pay for parking because I spent less than an hour on the premise. read more

new gelato place in Salt at Kakaako! 50% off for their soft opening so come and try them cos it's worth the visit! the ladies were so kind and helpful when we came in, giving us suggestions and free samples for what their favorite flavors and combinations were. we got the small with ube and green grape. the ube is one of the best ube ice creams I've ever had - it actually tasted like ube. most times you get ube from other places and it basically is like a plain vanilla with the essence of ube, but not here. the green grape was also fantastic, there were even bits of grape mixed in. the display was the cutest thing. occasionally the tubs start spinning, as that's how they keep them cold. we were having so much fun watching. we'll be back to try other flavors and the waffles next time! read more

Gelato is our love language! Admired their beautiful display of cold dense creamy goodness! Hubs had TANGERINE and TOASTED MARSHMALLOW - tangerine gelato was sweet, tangy, crisp with bits of real fruit in it. Toasted marshmallow tasted exactly like what you'd hope it would! Excellent, he was impressed! I had PASSIONFRUIT GREEN APPLE and the DARK CHOCOLATE. Passionfruit had little seeds in it, indicating real fruit! Fresh and tart! Deep rich chocolate complemented the fruit gelato, made for a nice pairing! Definitely would come back, there's other flavors we want to try! read more

7Gradi has been in the Salt building a while and frankly I don't think they are going anywhere anytime soon. The flavors are always changing and have a texture that is unmistakably Gelato. I'm by all means not a chocolate guy but the Dark Chocolate is unreal, a must try. read more

This place has got to have the best gelato I have ever had! Prices are not bad as well. Great flavors and the texture is so silky. I tried the bilberry and Mascarpone Oreo together and it was great! The bilberry had a strong natural berry flavor with a slight sharp acidity and the mascarpone was fantastic, but could have cared less about about the bits of oreos in it, but the two flavors side by side was a great pairing. It would be great if they added an expresso machine to do affogatos to their menu, but no matter what, they have a great gelato! read more

Tried this place out with a friend. There were several flavors to choose from. They let you have 3 samples. I chose to sample ube, Mexican vanilla, and haupia. Ube was good. Mexican vanilla flavor was also good, but didnt seem like anything special, and haupia did have coconut fibers or flakes in it but seemed to have something tart in it for me. Decided to get ube and Mexican vanilla with a plain waffle. Personally dont think the waffle is worth it. The plain waffle was like a chewy croissant with honey. After paying, the gelato seemed to melt very fast, ( as in the pic)not sure why. I've tried gelato at a couple other places and theirs didn't melt fast like that. read more
Very nice shop , clean and very importantly dog friendly. So many people brought there dogs by when we were there and all good dogs got treats. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. You could get small samples if you needed help making your choice. The gelato was very good and the flavors were great. When even got a small free sample of the waffle that's available if you choose. If you're in the area definitely stop by and give them a try. read more

I ordered a single with a chocolate waffle and was handed a cinnamon waffle. When I told the person working I ordered a chocolate waffle not cinnamon he said that there is cocoa powder on it.... I have attached a picture. There is no coco powder let alone a chocolate dipped waffle like in the photo. I just left because it wasn't worth arguing about but the whole situation was annoying. I am really disappointed considering the gelato itself was good. read more

Came here for dessert and got the dark chocolate and mascapone oreo scoops for my flavors. The Gelato was super thick and decadent, I definitely would recommend for the chocolate lovers. The shop is pretty small but there is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. The staff were super nice and the line moves fairly quickly! read more
Trendy gelato w a nice interior design :) the gelato was kind of soft and melts fast but I think that's their concept! We ended up getting two pints to go so that we could freeze it a little harder. The two flavors I tried were really yummy (marscarpone Oreo and blueberry cheesecake). The gelato was also suuuper creamy!! 7gradi doesn't have cones or waffle cones and I think I heard the worker saying it's because their gelato is too soft, but I'm a "cup" ice cream girl anyway!! They accept Apple Pay which was great bc my dad and I didn't have our wallets on us at the time. They have ample outdoor seating (no indoor). The hours of operation isn't posted anywhere in the store but I looked up their ig and I think it's 11am-7pm daily!! Can't wait to try their other flavors! read more
Came back and tried the Oreo Mascarpone, Riso (Rice), and Matcha flavors. Matcha was nice and not too bitter, the Oreo mascarpone was super creamy, and the Riso I got based on other folks' reviews. Really good! It tasted like an intense vanilla with hints of toasted rice. All three of the flavors really complimented one another too. The texture is almost like a thick soft serve. Mmmm... Got the grapefruit and ube in a small cup. Only like 5 bucks but it's a decent amount as a treat. Taste was phenomenal def would recommend!!! Not exactly where the pin is though... gotta look around a little bit. Not too far off though. read more

I've seen this gelato place pop up on my Instagram so I decided to grab dessert there yesterday while I was in the neighborhood. I ordered the single gelato, which came with the option of two flavors. I chose the Oreo Mascarpone and Mexican Vanilla. They were both creamy and smooth in texture. Very delicious. My favorite between the two was the Mexican Vanilla! I'm not much of a vanilla person, but this vanilla had so much flavor like an elevated vanilla. It's hard to explain so you have to try it yourself! Price is great too. A little over $5 after taxes. I rate this place a 4 star because there wasn't any type of chocolate gelatos available as an option. The closest thing was the Oreo Mascarpone and Nutella. I would return again just to see if they rotate out their gelato flavors and have some type of chocolate gelato next time. read more

Is this dairy free?? I bought the dark chocolate yesterday and need to know for a person sensitive to dairy?
Unless it's marked as dairy free or sorbet, assume it's diary based. While there are dairy free desserts styled like gelatos, real gelato can't be dairy free. My friend asked and the staff also stated only the sorbets are dairy free.
