To start off with a compliment my order was ready to go upon arrival and the young lady was very nice. Immediately pulled into the neighboring parking lot to eat. Everything was already room temperature. There was sauce or something on the outside of bags so now my console is dirty. The shao mai was okay. One had a big piece of gristle in it. The shrimp shumai tasted like it was from the day before and just refried, stale. My pork gyoza was supposed to be steamed, fried and already cold. The maki combo was ok. Literally a downgrade from grocery store sushi. Everything that should have been warm, spider roll and tempura shrimp was cold. The wasabi was so old/cold it wouldn't dissolve in my soy sauce. Definitely disappointed and now I know why they're prices are cheaper. read more

I was ready to dive in, everything looked so fresh and flavorful. I'm a frequent consumer of Sushi Ya at HEB and I was expecting a similar experience to that. Not only was the sushi great, the service was phenomenal. The young man who helped me offered to help me take my bags to the car, which was so sweet. I love that there are lots of options including bao, but also that there was a good selection rolls that did not have rice. My husband has diabetes and it's great to have options for him.
