Service was fast and efficient. The side dishes came out promptly after ordering, and the selection wasn't completely traditional. Specifically, one of the side dishes was beans in fermented black bean sauce commonly used in jajamyeon, which I particularly enjoyed. This is the 2nd time eating from 707, but first time eating at the location. When we first arrived it was packed and put our names down on the waitlist. There were 3 parties ahead of us and waited about 15 mins. We had looked at the menu while waiting so we already knew what we wanted to order. The server came over really fast and we ordered. A few mins later he came out with the banchan, cold sake and rice. About 5 mins later we received our beef bibimbap and then a few mins after we got our kimchi soup with pork. The server then came out with their chili sauce and everything was exceptional. The kimchi soup was sizzling to the point that I needed to serve myself in a separate bowl because it was that hot. I would say if you end up stopping by 707 and aren't sure you want to eat there, look up their menu with the QR code on the window and don't rely on the menu because it's not updated and they have like 50% more different items. Must have been from some gigantic chicken. A good portion too, 10 pieces total. They weren't as crispy as other Korean Fried Chicken (e.g. Bonchon); probably only fried once instead of twice-fried. So they were partially crispy and partially soggy. Sauce was sticky and spicy and a little sweet. Bul Go Ki: I was kinda worried that when I saw liquid in the takeout container. Sometimes places sell bulgogi that is more in the style of gyudon, not seared as much as it is braised in sauce. Thankfully, that was not the situation here. The beef was thinly sliced and nicely grilled up. It just happened to be sitting in a bunch of marinade afterwards. Which meant the flavor was really intense! All those pickled sides were a great pairing to cut the richness. Also, huge portion, easy to stretch into two meals. I really can't believe how WONDERFUL this place is. It was a place we found on a whim (my favorite food is soft tofu stew so I wanted to share the experience of the cuisine!) The decor and lighting was on point, they're playing good music, K-pop girl groups are projected onto a brick wall. It's really cool. Visited our table the perfect amount and was so fast running around taking orders (it was pretty busy in there for a place that seems little). She gave us our banchan in like less than a minute (everything was fresh though)! The kitchen must work like crazy because we even got our food in under 10 minutes. And as you can see we got a lot of it... I have weirdly never tried any buchimgae, the pancake. This was a kimchi pancake and OMG now I regret never getting it before!!! I should have take a picture of the bottom. PERFECTLY fried. I wish I knew how to make it but know I wouldn't be able to reach the perfection 707 did. The taste was just flawless. I want to eat this every day lol. The corn cheese had a light sweetness that I wasn't expecting and it was refreshing! I had never tried this either, but we wanted to get the full experience. I'm a sucker for tteokbokki. While it wasn't actually very spicy, the cook was perfect - I'm from Dallas where I have come to expect a "too chewy" texture from any tteokbokki I order. I really loved this one! Please don't waste the sauce! I literally wanted to drink it lol, doused my rice with it My favorite - sundubu-jjigae, the soft tofu stew. I leaned in to the waitress and said "please make it extra extra spicy"... just to be dramatic... I like some pain with my food. While they didn't go too extreme, I really think they reached just the right amount of heat. I could drink that broth for days, and they were generous with their tofu. My friend really really enjoyed his bibimbap. Hadn't ever had it before and I was in charge of the whole order, so I went the traditional route! Check out that cook on the egg and the size of it. I think that's perfect. Please make sure to get the stone bowl; the rice was BEAUTIFULLY crisped at the bottom and I know this because I packed it into a box and watched it all come off in one sizzling piece. Gorgeous! Walked in and it was 12:30PM but there was no one inside as most of their business comes during dinner and from online orders. More people came in after we started eating. They play Kpop music and later in the night they have a projector for the music videos. Ordered Japchae (glass noodles), Beef Manduu, and Corn cheese which was plenty for two people. The seating area is one big room and the place was all filled up on Sunday night, but the lights are dim and it felt private. Put our names down and they could seat us in 5 min. On the service -10/10, the waiter was educated on dietary restrictions, gave recommendations, food came out fast and all around the same time for our party of 6. On the food itself - 8/10. well presented, good portion sizes, well priced, decent tasting. Definitely satisfied my japchae craving. My favorite is the Creamy Tteokbokki and their fried chicken. Their soy garlic flavor for the chicken is better than the spicy sauce flavor in my opinion. I've tried their pancakes before but I can't justify $14 (kimchi) or $18 (scallion with seafood). Their beef stone pot bibimbap is pretty standard. Your food comes with sides and the servers are attentive and will refill it for you upon request (I had 3 refills because I enjoyed them so much). For a group of 10, we were seated fairly quickly, only having to wait a bit to sit all together. Service was fine, despite what some of the Yelp reviews say. We shared a few small dishes and the banchan were also good. Standout dishes I thought were Bibim mandoo, or dumpling with spicy vegetables, and Korean style egg omelette. I got bossam the first time from another Korean restaurant couple of days ago and I've been obsessed with this dish, so I decided to try out bossam from different restaurants. The pork belly itself was really fatty, like I love fatty pork belly but this is too much, and if I said something is too fat, most people can't eat it. Some pieces are barely edible as it's basically all fat. The bossam I got from the other restaurant was too lean tho. And I can get rid of some fat on the meat pieces by reheating them in the microwave and cooked the excess amount of fat out, so I guess I would still prefer this, as the meat pieces are super tender and moist dur to the high fat content. There are 3 sauces it comes with: a sweet and spicy chili sauce (tasted just like Thai sweet chili sauce), a sauce with Korean fermented salted shrimp, and a Korean fermented bean paste sauce. The bean paste sauce was the best one, but it's not the best I've ever had. I also love the salted shrimp I just wish it's not soaked in water, I like how salty they are originally. The sweet and spicy shredded radishes kimchi and pickled radish slices are both too sweet in my opinion. I wish at least one of them is sour since sourness can cancel out the greasiness of the pork belly slices. The amount of lettuce it comes with was too little, I ended up buying a whole head of lettuce from groceries just to eat with the rest of the meat. I also got a head of garlic to go with it. The bossam i got from the other restaurant comes with green chili pepper slices and garlic slices which I like a lot. Generally I will definitely order this again and I'm also looking forward to try out different dishes on their menu in the future. read more
