Four stars for both the experience and food. We wanted something unusual to do and we had high expectations for 7 paintings in what was a convenient location. Initial impressions were very good -- low lit room with art interspersed. There's a menu but nothing to order except drinks. The koolaid was served in a skull glass but too sweet for my taste. The smoky mescal drink was good. The food was all solid -- nothing exemplary but nothing bad. Our favorite dish was the Banksy carpaccio but it might not be for everyone since it was veal. The Jackson Pollock vegetable painting was unusual and kinda cool but we wonder about whether the mats were sanitary. The staff were well trained and were helpful when we needed hints, although the main person had trouble capturing everyone's attention to explain the courses. The room is loud (hotel conference room). They charged us 22% gratuity for large party (only two of us) even though the web site said 20% but it wasn't worth complaining. It's a pricey experience but we're glad we did it.

We had an amazing time. The entire experience was fun, unique, and delicious. I typically don't like fine dining because it can become long and tedious but we were having so much fun that time flew by and we didn't even feel it. Although pricy we felt it was totally worth it. I highly recommend!!!

This was an absolute joke and I feel that with a price tag of over $500 for 2 is an outright crime. It's a 7 course meal and my wife and I left still very hungry. This takes place in a hotel conference room where you sit on tables where 90's style projection screens shine on the table and project stupid videos on your placemat. It's ridiculous and kind of laughable. Overpriced and a total waste of time. I don't recommend this to anyone. Unless you want to spend $200+22% mandatory tip per person. Stay away!!!!

If you have the chance to attend 7 Paintings, just don't. The 7 course meal was pretty good although did not need 2/7 to be dessert and it was definitely not worth the $600+ for 2 people. My hubby ate a slice of pizza after and some popcorn. Not enough food. They also dialed to notify us which of the items in the first course was GF. It was in a box that you had to unlock based on a code you got from shining a flashlight on tne table. Very gimmicky. Brilliant concept to have an art-themed interactive dining experience. Sadly, the execution left a lot to be desired. Horrendous talking g Mona Lisa with very boring content and boring animation. Very little art history. Uninspiring music. The projected graphics on the table was nice, probablye engaging for an early elementary school audience. Fundamental drawback was tne content, seemingly geared for 5 year olds with poorly executed animation and lots of gimmicks. If you have a ton of money to burn, this would be a fun birthday party for young elementary school children. The content could be re-written to a decent level of interest with a good prompt on ChatGPT in 10 minutes. No excuse for this dull content. Don't go if you want an intimate / romantic experience. My hubby unwittingly bought this as a birthday surprise for me, as did the other couple seated at our table. They were very nice and we enjoyed them, but it was not a private dining experience since we were seated very close to another couple at our table. It's hosted at the Ameswell Hotel, a stylish spot with a very appealing aesthetic and fun little nooks and crannies to hang out in. The restaurant Roger there is very good. Definitely recommend that!

    Horrible

This felt like a scam from start to finish. If refunds were offered, I'd absolutely ask for one. For a $$$$ "premium" experience, it was held in what looked like a random hotel conference room with cheap chairs not meant for a 2.5-hour dinner. You're also seated at a shared table with two strangers -- not exactly the elevated, intimate vibe that's implied. The food tasted frozen and reheated, the cocktails were overpriced, and they automatically added a 22% gratuity on top of it? Absolutely not. Extremely disappointing. Would not recommend.

Blood orange and agave mocktail. Meh.

My second visit was for Hocus Pocus, and it didn't live up to the first. The drinks tasted watered down, the food was mediocre, and the dessert was completely flavorless. My third experience was supposed to be The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it was canceled and I was given a code for a future film. I used that code for Beauty and the Beast and was so excited--only to receive another cancellation email. Since this was the second movie that got canceled, I didn't feel comfortable taking yet another code, so I requested a refund instead. It's now been over two months, and I still haven't received it. Don't get me wrong--as a Disney lover, I think this concept is such a fun idea. But it feels like it may have run its course. For the price, I expected a lot more consistency in both quality and communication. Ironically, my best experience was Ratatouille, but I had to go to LA to see it because it wasn't offered in my area at that time. Overall, it can be a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience--just make sure the event is actually delivering what you're paying for.

They sent out a generic email stating that I could reschedule or get a refund. For over a month I tried to be patient but all my calls and emails got ignored (all calls go to their voicemail) . These tickets are expensive and it's frustrating that they're taking advantage of people's hard earned money and they're not being honest. Their lack of transparency is really upsetting. It seems this is something that has been happening in different cities and if you don't believe me, look at all the negative reviews online. (Yelp, social media, TikTok). I did eventually reach out to my bank to dispute the charges and luckily they were able to assist me. Please save yourself the headache (and money) and use that instead to treat yourself to a nice dinner and a show somewhere else.

It started with the barbacoa chilaquiles. When I saw that that the chilaquiles in the menu had habaneros on it, I knew I had found my place. I often cook at home with ghost and scorpion peppers, which are not traditionally found in restaurants, but they've done some pretty amazing improvisation when I've asked to make it work. One time, I recall getting the chilaquiles and asking for extra habaneros and asking if their chef had a secret hot sauce that was stronger than "white people spicy." Miriam brought me a little ramekin of a pepper sauce puree that the chef prepared - and it was EPIC. I don't ask for that every time, but you know whoever was on the line took the request seriously and actually had some fun making my mouth burn. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of their willingness to "play" in the kitchen. Today, I went for breakfast and ordered the Carne En Su Jugo for my first time. Not just here - first time ever eating it anywhere. I had totally forgotten to ask them to make it spicy! I asked Miriam if there was anything they could do to spice it up. She assured me they could. Then I received it. And I tasted it. And it was cathartic. The chefs prepared a PERFECTLY spicy stew, and I downed that whole thing in 7 minutes. It was delicious, put some sweat on my brow, and left me feeling more than satisfied with my meal. I love this place! Miriam is always great every time I've been there. I will continue supporting this business as long as they keep doing business. Please give me compliments to the chefs again. Their creativity keeps me coming back for spicy treats!

Bonus points for having fun seasonal choices. The kids menu has good options but it is kinda pricey for being the kids menu. Bonus points because they use handmade tortillas for the kids taco. They also offer unique things like a breakfast molcajete and a mini birria pambazo. We didn't try those but it sounded intriguing. Also so many drink choices if you're looking for a michelada or mimosa. Cute vibes inside & love the plates and ceramics they use. It is small though so wouldn't really accommodate a large group easily, especially if it's busy. There is parking but even though it wasn't busy it was hard to find a spot. All that said, it was a very mid experience. The meat for the kids birria and the chilaquiles was more on the dry side. Same for the rice. The Grinch milkshake was good and cute. The tamarindo mimosa was good after we asked for extra tamarindo. Initially it was very heavy on the champagne. The country potatoes were yummy. The gingerbread pancakes were also dry & didn't taste like gingerbread. Also was sad that they were out of the advertised Holiday drinks: chocolate abuelita and atole de mazapán. I ordered the hot chocolate in its place but even though it looked cute, it tasted watery. I came here specifically for the Holiday items so that's why I was so disappointed with that. Service was okay. Our server was friendly when we interacted with her but it was very limited. Pretty much when she took our order & then when I flagged her down to return my pancakes & hot chocolate. She was very understanding though about that so I appreciated that. Overall, if they made adjustments to their flavor & quality it could be really good. From this visit I would say their Mexican food is better than their American food. I'd try again in the future, just not any time soon.

Booking was super easy and I thought they provided a lot of helpful details in the emails they sent, for example parking prices, a hint at what the game would be about, etc. I thought all of the actors did a fantastic job throughout the night. The fake participant at my table did a very convincing job at pretending they were a participant and only one very small thing had tipped me off prior to bigger hints that they weren't a real participant, but no spoilers! The show was adequately silly, interesting, and kept moving. Sometimes, random audience members would be called to participate, but it was all in good fun. I really hope the actors had as much fun as the audience. There was also a prize for the top sleuth, so write quickly! We also actually really enjoyed the food! My mom and I both ordered the fish - it was a very tasty roast salmon with vegetables. We heard from the others at our table that the chicken was pretty salty and some people couldn't finish it. The tiramisu was also a pretty huge chunk and delicious. Not too sweet. The dinner was at the beautiful Marker Hotel. We definitely enjoyed taking photos in the hotel before/after the game. Also they had clean bathrooms. For parking, while they do provide parking prices at the hotel, mom and I were able to score cheaper parking elsewhere by booking on ParkWhiz. Overall, I would highly recommend checking it out at least once if you're curious what a murder mystery dinner may be like. I thought the show, venue, and food combination was well worth the price we paid. I would definitely go back to another show.

However, for $200+ per person, I was disappointed in the food, seating and limited types of acrobatics in the show. The dinner seating was very very cramped, not how it looked to me on the seating chart. (The general admission seating with no dinner looked more comfortable!) I could barely get into my chair between the two people next to me. The chairs were tall hardwood barstools with no back, which were very uncomfortable. The beef and polenta dinner tasted like dog food out of a can! I could not eat it, although some people did. The dessert was served in a stale ice cream cone. Only water was included with the expensive meal; drinks were extra and expensive. The circus consisted mostly of Ariel acrobatics, risqué costumes, some nudity, and a little bit of dramatic story telling in between. As I said, the band was excellent, although the vocals could have been more prominent in the sound mix. Sorry, I really wanted to support this kind of live theater and they did make a good effort, but it was too expensive and it just fell short.
