WOLF-BERRY MORO-NGUE Berry Tartlet, Infused Meringue, Basil
Mika M.

A culinary movie experience! I have never done one of these before. I wanted to give it a try. It was such an amazing experience. If you ever book one of these make sure to book fast as popular movies do tend to fill up fast. The only downside is side about booking so far ahead is that you don't know what the menu is until it's a week before the showing. If you wait until then there is a good chance seats will book up. The Movie: Princess Mononoke A great spectacular movie! A Hayo Miyazaki studio Ghibli movie that explores a conflict between humanity and nature of cursed prince. I highly recommend watching. The meal: A set menu that is inspired by the film. The chef of our meal was from the Downtown San Jose restaurant called EOS & NYX. I honestly thought everything was delicious and really complimented the film. I believe the chef is different for each movie and so is the menu. You will never know what you will get based on film. Appetizer: Kodama-mame Steamed Edamame, Sesame, Togarashi, Lime MAIN ENTREE THE HATE-FILLED BOAR-B-Q Slow Roasted Ribs, Bok Choy, Plum Sauce DESSERT WOLF-BERRY MORO-NGUE Berry Tartlet, Infused Meringue, Basil ( you buy themed cocktail for extra. It's not included) CURATED COCKTAIL - $16 THE SHISHI-GAMI Tito's Vodka, Yuzu Citrus Syrup, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Fresh Lime Juice, Soda Water They do provide water bottle that comes with the meal. Overall, the experience was 10/10 and the food was very scrumptious. I would book another culinary dinner experience.

Great news, the Pruneyard Cinemas, and Cedar room will stay open!! I definitely will be better about patronizing these businesses in the future. I blamed her all my life, and some of my earliest memories are attending the theater in Pruneyard. While I'm thrilled for myself, more importantly I'm ecstatic & relieved for the employees who depend on this for their livelihood.

A mom and pop dinner theatre?! Say less. I wish this was closer to me since it was the perfect little theatre with delicious snacks and great service. Location is fab and central to anything and everything you need. Plenty of parking too in the morning! I went on a weekday to watch a matinée movie. I was the only one in the theatre. Snacks arrived about as quickly as they were ordered and the server brought an adequate amount of napkins (very important in a dark theatre where you can't see where you're spilling!!). All staff I encountered were warm and pleasant. Bathrooms were clean. And although the place was all carpet, it didn't have that awful movie theatre carpet smell. Much more enjoyable and a better bang for your buck imo compared to the big brand name theatre near me.

Perfect for date nights either solo or accompanied. Cute ambiance and comfy seats that have an attached tray for all your snacks or meals. Chill vibes and friendly staff all around. The theater is located in a shopping strip with other restaurants and shops so parking can be tedious, but not impossible, just be patient. I attended a special event which included a special viewing and dinner that consisted of a 3 course meal prepared by a guest chef.

First time here and took my teen daughter to see the new Wicked movie. Staff was super welcoming and explained how the system works for ordering food and drinks from our seats. I would suggest arriving before the movie starts to get situated as it was a little awkward trying to navigate the QR code and menu in the dark while trying to be considerate of other viewers. Food and drinks were fantastic! They forgot my salad but it was so good when it finally arrived that I won't even deduct a star for that. Can't wait to go back with the entire fam next time we are in the area.

Caesar with grilled chicken (chicken was flavorful and juicy!) + garlic parm fries (a must!!!)

Always our go-to theater. The staff is always so nice. The facilities are always clean and up to par compared to other theaters in the area. They have complimentary water from a dispenser, which is nice. We loooove coming during dinner so we can make it a movie/dinner date night. Our favorite from the food menu is the Cinema Burger with the garlic parm fries OMG. We wanted to switch it up this time and got a hot dog and gp fries + a Caesar salad w/grilled chicken and a side of gp fries. Also can't watch a love w/o buttery popcorn and an icee! On this particular night, we went to see the new Freaky Friday movie and there was a huge group of 10-12 year old girls... you can only imagine how loud it was. I asked the server/staff to kindly increase the volume and while he looked surprised, he understood immediately LOL. Bonus points! Overall, we love Pruneyard Cinemas!

Went here for the first time because they had a more convenient movie time slot compared to the other theaters. This is such a local gem and a really pretty theater. I love the aesthetic and their lovely staff. You can order food from your phone and they'll bring it within 10-15 minutes which is a relief because Alamo takes a extremely long time. I just found out they might be closing soon which is extremely unfortunate because of how it's basically a piece of history. But I understand how with everything going on businesses need to close down sometimes. So if you have the chance go before they're gone! (I don't know exactly when)

Went and saw a movie here today around 11:15am and was surprised that the popcorn was cold and wasn't fresh. When they first opened years ago they had the best popcorn with real butter topping. The owners have changed and it's very noticeable that the quality of the food just isn't there. Now, they only have "butter flavored" topping. The menu for the food and cocktails isn't as good as it used to be either and very overpriced for low quality items. The seats were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Not sure I will be returning anytime soon.

Pruneyard cinema is a dine-in theatre in the middle of pruneyard shopping mall. Overall it's just ok. The good: * they do have decent food. Better than most movie theaters. * the bathrooms are clean though the men's room is upstairs in a random hallway. * they have 6 minutes of trailers instead of the usual ~30 at century or amc. * the pretzel was decent * they have free water with legit size cups near the snack bar The bad: * the main area of the place smells like a tsunami of cleaner went through it. * the seats are kind of uncomfortable. * the tickets are kind of expensive $13 each at matinee. * the food is kind of expensive. * the kettle corn is awful. * the chicken wings were hot but way overcooked and dry. * the workers just seemed so unhappy to be there.

Can I bring my toy poodle?

Hi Phuong, While we allow dogs in the Cedar Room, we only allow service animals in the theater as a…

What is the difference between "NEC Laser Projection" and "Sony 4K Presentation" showings?

Hi Alex! Happy to help, NEC Laser is just newer technology and our newest projector. You may see both options listed for a film due to it playing in different showrooms but I can assure you, both are great options!

How much is the total price for a Culinary Cinema movie and dinner event?

Hi Jenni - Thank you for your question, the ticket price for Culinary Cinemas is $57.50 and there is a $1.75 service charge which brings the total to $59.25 for the movie and three course meal.

Do the seats in the very back row recline?

All the seats recline.

What is the average price to rent out a movie theater and watch a new movie?

Hi Kimberly, please reach out to events@pruneyardcinemas.com as the price varies by number of guests, day and time of movie, and a couple other factors.

What is the current menu for this place, did they change it? I don't see tbe burgers listed on the menu online anymore?

Hello Aresha, We currently have a flame-grilled, Braveheart beef burger on our menu. We are aware that the menu on our webpage is a little out of date. We plan on updating it…

Do they still serve wine?

Yes

Is the air conditioning system filtered for Covid?

Yes. Prior to re-opening in May we upgraded our MERV-8 filters to MERV-13 filters at the recommendation of CDC documentation against covid-19.

Do they have heated seats?

No, at least when I went.

We were going to go tonight but, the showing only had 2 seats on at each end at the very top which the top would have been fine but really? How does that work, we asked the tickets person said we'd have to sit on opposite ends?

Oh no. That doesn't sound like fun. The seats are reserved. I would say try to go in early and see if you can have the entire row move down a seat so there are two seats together, but I have found that people maybe very hesitant to move. Everyone…

Are they open Christmas Day 2018?

Yes

Are food/drink offered all day, or only during certain hours?

All day, during business hours.

How do you order food?

When I went, there are menus at your reserved seat so you can decide what to order. I think the seats have a button to call a server (kind of like the steward button on a plane) and someone comes to take your order.

Do they have any 3D showings?

At this time, we do not have 3D showings.

BEAUTIFUL VENUE!!!…read more The road going up and down is a little scary (for me), but everyone seems to be very careful. The venue is absolutely beautiful...outdoor theater with great views of the city below & beyond. And when the sun goes down.. it is even more magical. I had the empanadas, which were really good and tasty. The wine was also very good - we stuck with the Pinot Noir. Staff were a little high strung... they should smile more. Would I go back? No complaints on the venue itself but there are some ushers with the rudest attitude in such a bad way. I have a hallway that is strictly music themed memorabilia and some of the best pieces are the set lists that I've collected over the decades. I frame and treasure them as memories that got me through good and bad times. Music is and always has been a huge part of my life. The other night, we were at a show and I went to get a set list for my collection. There was nobody around and the people working on stage were clearing the set as fast as possible as they only had a few minutes to clear the stage and set up for the next band. An usher, I think her name was Karen asked me if I took the set list. I said yes and she took it from me and PUT IT BACK ON THE STAGE!!! I think I'm still a bit shocked because it was so unnecessary. She told me, no,I can't have it..... I have to ask for it! At this point, I'm beginning to feel like Pavlov's dog, I turned around and faced the stage. I had to interrupt the guys trying to clear the stage and said (in my best Dicken's Tiny Tim voice, "please sir, may I have that piece of paper?". Ummm.... What the hell? She was smirking like she did such an amazing job with teaching me a lesson! I've been to other shows where people are begging for set lists. This was not the case. If there were other people before me, I'd make sure they got it over me! She also told me numerous times not to touch the stage. I did have to lean my upper torso in a few times maybe 20 degrees (again only my upper torso!) to interrupt the guys swapping the stage. I did not intentionally try to touch it, please take a look at the CCTV cameras. I am too old to be submissive to someone with a twisted issue with power control. I know I shouldn't have let this bother me but I slept on it and I just think it was so unnecessary. It was humiliating but I was given three set lists that night that I will add to my beloved collection. I complied with everything asked of me, I was not touching the stage on purpose and that was clear as day. She is unfit to interact with your guests. She was treating me in such a condescending manner which was bizarre and can ruin the experience of patrons to come! A big shout out to your security upon entering, your merch and bar staff. Unfortunately( it just takes one person to change your overall experience. She may think she did anything wrong but it's not a good experience moving forward. Also, please let people have a set list if they want it! It may just be a piece of paper to one, but a an amazing memory to another. Best

It started with the barbacoa chilaquiles. When I saw that that the chilaquiles in the menu had habaneros on it, I knew I had found my place. I often cook at home with ghost and scorpion peppers, which are not traditionally found in restaurants, but they've done some pretty amazing improvisation when I've asked to make it work. One time, I recall getting the chilaquiles and asking for extra habaneros and asking if their chef had a secret hot sauce that was stronger than "white people spicy." Miriam brought me a little ramekin of a pepper sauce puree that the chef prepared - and it was EPIC. I don't ask for that every time, but you know whoever was on the line took the request seriously and actually had some fun making my mouth burn. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of their willingness to "play" in the kitchen. Today, I went for breakfast and ordered the Carne En Su Jugo for my first time. Not just here - first time ever eating it anywhere. I had totally forgotten to ask them to make it spicy! I asked Miriam if there was anything they could do to spice it up. She assured me they could. Then I received it. And I tasted it. And it was cathartic. The chefs prepared a PERFECTLY spicy stew, and I downed that whole thing in 7 minutes. It was delicious, put some sweat on my brow, and left me feeling more than satisfied with my meal. I love this place! Miriam is always great every time I've been there. I will continue supporting this business as long as they keep doing business. Please give my compliments to the chefs again. Their creativity keeps me coming back for spicy treats!

I could barely get into my chair between the two people next to me. The chairs were tall hardwood barstools with no back, which were very uncomfortable. The beef and polenta dinner tasted like dog food out of a can! I could not eat it, although some people did. The dessert was served in a stale ice cream cone. Only water was included with the expensive meal; drinks were extra and expensive. The circus consisted mostly of Ariel acrobatics, risqué costumes, some nudity, and a little bit of dramatic story telling in between. As I said, the band was excellent, although the vocals could have been more prominent in the sound mix. My wife and I could tell he loves doing this, and that makes it even more fun than it would have been otherwise. My wife and I were also brought 'on-stage' and that was also a lot of fun. I have been to other shows where the magician does not make the spectator feel comfortable, and this couldn't be further from that. He made us feel like the most important thing was that we had a good time, and we certainly did. I cant wait to see Jay again. Next time we are definitely taking the kids too, then I'll have to bring all the other members of my family as well. I cannot recommend Jay's show enough. Please do yourself the favor of going!
