Came here for a volunteer recognition luncheon. Didn't realize there's such a nice venue in downtown Campbell before. The building had some parking spaces; parking on the street was easy as well. The staircase to the event room looked grand. There's an elevator right by the entrance as well. Spacious area outside the event room for registration. Event room was huge and nicely decorated. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious and beyond my expectations for an event like this. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall, a very well organized and enjoyable event! read more

I enjoyed this venue for a wedding like event. I was surprised how spacious and airy it was for being downtown Campbell. It was easy & free to park which is a perk. The staircase in was luxurious. I appreciated how brightly lit it was for a nighttime event. I do wish there was more natural sunlight, I won't complain given it wasn't dark and musty like many venues. Went to the annual San Jose Volunteer Recognition event hosted by the Junior League of San Jose at Villa Ragusa. The reception checkin was in a spacious hall in front of the very well laid out event room. The tables were formally presented and inviting, and the chicken cobb salad lunch entree and red velvet cake dessert were the perfect lunch for this awesome recognition of volunteers making a huge difference in the SJ community, for children and adults, foster or homeless or in medical need. The food service before, during, and after the lunch was impeccable. Coffee was in carafes on each table and decaf was available on request. The no host bar service was excellent. The ceiling height appeared to present some limitation on the size of the projection screens on the sides of the stage and for the production spot lighting (big distraction from the low ceiling spots and the frustrating absence of a highlighting spot) on the stage, but this was hardly noticeable. Parking is either on-street or in one of the many public parking lots, all of which are within 2-3 blocks of Villa Ragusa. On the event itself: on time starting and ending, good paced, and great video production of the finalist volunteers. The well disguised tissue packages on each table was a good hint of what to expect in the very emotional heart warming video interviews of volunteers giving and paying it forward to the community. All volunteers, the nominated, the finalists, the winning finalist, and those even not mentioned all make a difference, and this event was an awesome reminder of the amazing people giving their time and commitment to others. I had no idea this place existed otherwise I may have had my wedding reception here. I came here for a birthday party for a friend and it was stunning! She had one of the spaces reserved for 120 guests and there was a wedding going on the same night in another space. The bar was fully stocked and my friend gave out drink tickets for beer/wine and it was cash bar for cocktails. Dinner was delicious- she had two kinds of salads, fish, chicken, fresh green beans and wild rice. I was so pleased with the food I wanted to get up and have seconds but held back. A few hours after dinner they did a dessert bar with small cake pieces and cheesecake. The chocolate moose cake was light and moist. My friend also had a three tiered cake that was cut later in the evening and the staff sliced it up for her. My friend had 3 types of live entertainment and everything was very well organized. I loved the architecture and style of the room-clean and elegant. Highly recommend this place that is in downtown Campbell where there are two parking garages close by. read more

We had our wedding reception at Villa Ragusa in September, rescheduled from November of 2020. Firstly, Laura and the VR team worked very closely with us during the covid rescheduling period. We actually had to move our date twice and they were super accommodating and flexible. It was worth the wait and our reception was the best party ever! The food, the bar, the coordination and planning were all top notch. Not to mention the value, we looked at many venues and this was the best value for the package by far. Laura made our day so special, and worked tirelessly with us when changes came about. She was a quick communicator and very flexible. We felt cared for and like a priority. I booked a corporate event at Villa Ragusa and Laura knocked it out of the park. We were not the easiestttt of clients, but she took all our curve balls and helped us throughout the whole way. She was so flexible and adapted to everything. Booked Villa Ragusa (VR) for our company party this past weekend, and it was such a breeze! Before I say anymore, I want to thank Hilary for coordinating and walking us through the entire process! Located smack dab in the middle of Downtown Campbell, VR is the perfect venue for anything you desire! Wedding? Parent's 50th Anniversary? Company party? Quinceañera? All perfect reasons to take a look at VR as a potential venue! First, the place is beautiful! Upon entering, you're met with an elegant staircase perfect for pictures. Once on the second floor, there are about 2 general "venues" that can be separated into smaller areas depending on how you want things to be set up. For our party, we rented the East Gallery (the space with the huge bar). It was the perfect size for our party of a little over 100 people. We were even able to fit a band and photo booth. Next, Hilary, one of the event managers at VR, was so pleasant to work with! She basically helped us with setting up the entire thing... and our party went off without a hitch! Huge thanks to her and the rest of the staff that worked the bar and food! In the end, we got such good feedback from attendees (and that the place was way better than last year's venue!), Villa Ragusa will definitely be a top contender for our next year's party! read more

We were very dissatisfied with what happened to our September 2020 wedding during the pandemic and how Villa Ragusa handled it. They made us put in another deposit of $2000 just to reschedule our wedding to August 2021 due to Covid. My friend who also went with Villa Ragusa wasn't asked to make another deposit to postpone wedding. That was totally unfair. We were all taking a hit. But another $2000 deposit was uncalled for. Not all venues were asking for another deposit. So we lost $2000. It's not a small sum! During January 2021, we made the decision to cancel our wedding with them and they only gave back $2000. It was still more than half a year from the wedding. But with the pandemic, things were so unsure that we didn't know if we could do an indoor wedding at all and we were scared to have an indoor wedding. We were very unhappy with the person who was in charge of communicating to us. We wanted to change another person to coordinate our wedding, but also Villa Ragusa didn't have outdoor wedding option. And we were already very upset about everything. They are not flexible at all. We wanted to speak to the owner but the lady we were communicating brushed it off. read more

I had my husband's celebration of life event at the Villa Ragusa on 6/4/22 and as of today, 7/15/22, I am still receiving rave reviews! I don't get the appeal of this place. Well, I guess I do - price. From what I know of them, they're one of the less expensive options in town for banquet facilities. It's for a reason. Sound: I've never been to an event here that didn't have AV problems. They don't seem to rush to make sure it works well. Food: bleh! Imagine the worst banquet food you've ever had. Really, get the image in your mind. Got it? Ok, this is worse. Tastes like it was made early in the day and kept warm. I am STILL daydreaming of my wedding from a month ago! Villa Ragusa was our venue from beginning to end, ceremony to reception. We can't rave enough about Hilary! She is attentive, excellent in all she does, detailed oriented, and really helped make our day so special! Never missed a beat! Villa Ragusa has very reasonable rates. We had our Reception at Villa Ragusa in July. VR is a massive and beautiful banquet hall that fits up to 600 people and was our top choice when choosing Reception venues. VR is very reasonably priced with one of the best alcohol packages!! We had the pleasure to work with Hilary throughout our planning process. We cannot express in words how amazing Hilary is. From day one, she was truly involved, answered every single one of our hundreds of questions (even if we re-asked the same questions), and made sure that our special day would turn out truly special. She was very easy to work with, always available, very responsive, and very accommodating when scheduling appointments to go see the venue. She helped us with everything from the small details to the big stuff. She put together a floor plan that best fit our needs/wants and even provided genuine advice from her years of organizing events. Laura another great coordinator was the one present on the day of our reception and she made sure everything ran by smoothly. Other bonuses: VR has a kitchen that is perfect for food vendors to use, they build a dance floor to fit your size needs, have a wide selection for table cloth and chair sashes to choose from and to top it of there is also ample of free/safe parking in the area making it convenient for guests. My workplace association held an event here, so I don't have any specifics on cost/ease of hosting, etc, but I will say this as a guest: The food is decent. Yummy salad. No complaints there. Room is pretty. I liked the light fixtures/chandeliers. It was unusually cold in the hallway/common areas. Not sure if they cranked up the AC in light of our room being upstairs but I felt bad for anyone with bare arms. When we wanted to get an extra chair and squeeze in one more person to our table, we were told "no, sorry, there are no more extra chairs" by staff, which wasn't a big deal. We started asking other tables if they could spare a chair, but IMHO when staff saw us doing that, it would have been polite to help us out. Maybe they were too jealous of our Mastermind Plot in its rivalry to solving world peace to step in. *shrugs shoulders* I'd already had a venue reserved for my summer 2012 wedding, but after this experience I was pretty glad I didn't look at this place seriously or even make an inquiry. read more

I just had my wedding here and Laura made it the most perfect wedding we could imagine! The event space is large and is pretty but Laura is a huge part to making it all happen. From day one she was always very quick with her responses when we had questions and we chose to hire her as our day of coordinator. She made sure my husband and I were taken care of the whole night and kept our whole day organized. The food was amazing and the service staff was amazing. There is not one complaint! We went to check out Villa Ragusa as a possible wedding and reception site for our wedding next year. My email interactions with Allison were really pleasant, and we set up a time to come in and meet with Marisa. The site was nice enough, and I can see how it got rave reviews from several yelpers. Now here's the part that made me not only give the place 3 stars, but also made us decide not to use the facility. We were there 15 minutes at the most, and Marisa asked us questions about whether we intended to use "smoke and fire" or "ethnic" foods, etc. She either made a comment or asked a question regarding different cultural traditions, etc. like three or four times. She also made this weird comment about catering and how sometimes people want to bring in their own "backyard" caterers, and they end up with damaged items, stolen items, etc. We are clearly not a caucasian couple...and I'm seriously trying to be careful about making assumptions about people and their biases...but she sure made enough assumptions about who we are to make me get onto this website to write about it. read more

This was my first visit to Villa Ragusa. Located in the heart of downtown Campbell, the venue is upstairs to the Sonoma Chicken Coop. It's a great place to host a wedding, reception or banquet. In our case we attended fund raising banquet and auction on behalf of the Hospice of the Valley. I was really impressed with the layout of the venue. There was ample room to mingle in the reception area and not have the feeling that we were all being crammed into a small space. The wait staff was great about clearing empty glasses and dishes as they appeared. Dinner was very good with portions being more an adequate. During the reception, we noshed on fresh fruit, cheese, bread, wraps, cold cuts and roasted veggies. Premium beers and wines were served. As it's been said - This is NOT a good place to be on a diet. Dinner was decadent with portions verging on super size. Unfortunately, for those of us watching our waistlines and wanting to doggie bag a portion of our dinner, we were told that there were no containers available to allow us to take our uneaten dinners home with us. I was saddened at the waste of food. Thankfully, a couple of the ladies at my table went downstairs to the Chicken Coop Restaurant and brought back some containers which we were able to take the remaining portion of our dinners home with us for later. read more

Great location, setup for the registration, setup for aucttion and dinner was great. Lighting was nice but the muted lighting that was great for networking made the silent auction items hard to read. The acoustics were a bit off during the event, overamplifed in some areas, not enough in others. The food served here was excellent, the dessert much less so. The portion sizes were very generous. Here's my key com plaint: NO takeout containers. Three different staff were asked about this.... finally several people went down to Sonoma Chicken Coop and asked to buy some containers. If most of the people had the option, I'm sure the would have used containers to take food home. I hate to know how much money Hospice of the Valley wasted on food tonight! So, I can only really talk about the venue, which, yes, it is huge. The only negative I can think of is that hmm... I can't think of one. I guess if I have to say something, it'd be parking? Went here for a company banquet dinner. Definitely a nice venue! The site accommodated a casino themed event, able to hold live band, dance floor. We had an outside caterer so I can't comment on the food there. Parking: there's a structure that's walking distance a block away. Open Bar: This is always nice. The company had open bar till a certain time. The server was super nice and gave me options to go for since I'm not an avid drinker. Servers: The servers were pretty good from what I could see but of course, it's hard to notice when more than half the table is out gambling once they finish their course. No one really sat still for long.Must have drove them nuts. No complaints on this end. We were looking to use this as a wedding reception venue but I marked it down 1 star because of all the restrictions and costs! read more

I got married here in August of 2010. I love the location and the simplicity of the venue. I worked with Maria and she was extremely helpful throughout the planning and on the day of. She made my wedding day very memorable and stress free! I hope other brides get the chance to work with such an amazing facility coordinator. The food tasting was done at their Sunnyvale venue, Del Monte. All of the food was delicious. I couldn't make my mind up when deciding on what to have on our wedding day. The cake tasting was also fun and yummy. All of our vendors were AMAZING and made our wedding day so much more special. We had our reception here as well, a few months after it opened (July '03). Marie was so great to work with and understood all the concerns of throwing a big Indian wedding. We had two of the three rooms (she let us use the third, smaller room for pictures as well since it wasn't booked). She was fine with us having an outside caterer and all the crazy decorations I had. She even threw in a few things that really made the hall more beautiful (votive candles and round mirrors for the tables). I checked out the place a few times before the big day and she was accommodating every time. Bride's account: Alright so we booked the place a year before our date and I believe they had some staff changes in the interim. Because of the fact that they were changing some things around including how the catering would be done, we were skeptical. This became apparent after the first menu tasting with the new staff. We had an original tasting prior and everyone approved. This second tasting didn't fly so well because 1. of miscommunication and 2. mainly because of a difference in styles of tastes. That on top of the manager not writing anything down, it wasn't very comforting. After a few conversations back and forth and a third tasting, this is verdict. Likes: - Very competitive pricing for a wedding venue, in fact, a question they always get asked is, "what's the catch?" When there really, absolutely isn't one! What you see is what you pay. - Before and after the staff change, one thing that never changed was the stellar customer service - Maria, our new hostess, was very helpful and professional throughout our planning process with the appropriate probes and timely responses. - They help you set up the day of. Whatever you drop off during the week of, they will help set up for you. - The night of, whenever we needed Maria, she just seemed to show up! But also everything went according to schedule. In fact we were half an hour ahead of schedule, that may have been a nightmare in catering, but I never knew of any mishaps! - Everyone loved the food, and this was truly amazing because we have some pretty tough crowd - the filet mignon had great reviews! Dislikes: - We heard that some of the hor'deurves didn't get passed around as much. It could have been that they were the more popular ones. I would say, maybe they could have placed them on a buffet line? Besides the sudden staff change, without much communication at the beginning, there really hadn't been any mishaps or great concerns. The success of the night, the great reviews from guests certainly made up for whatever seemed like miscommunication at the beginning. The delivery was smooth and our guests enjoyed themselves. We had our daughter's Cotillion party at Villa Ragusa last Friday. It was a success! Hilary and Laura were responsive, accommodating, and helpful throughout the process. They are very easy to work with and made planning easy. The day before the event, they let us in at the venue for 3 hours so we could do most of our set-up and preparation. That helped a great deal! On the day of, they allowed our vendors to come in 4 hours before we started to allow them ample time to set up. That worked out well. The party went as planned and as discussed with Hilary and Laura. Also I was so relieved that even though I left my camera bag at the party, the crew found it and turned it in to Laura. I was able to pick it up at their office few days after. The bag was all intact, nothing was lost. Thank goodness! Our guests loved the venue. They said VR is beautiful and classy. Also the bathrooms were kept clean the whole time we had the party. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely consider them again for our next big family event!! read more

We had our father's memorial service at Villa Ragusa and I can't say enough positive things about the venue, service and especially event coordinator, Hilary. During a very difficult time she worked with me and my family on price, set up for seating and AV. On the day leading up to the service, Hilary was incredibly responsive in all the details we needed. She worked directly with the florist, ensured we had time to set up all the things we needed (i.e. photos of my dad, reserved signs, guest book, etc.). We had a slideshow and played music on separate devices and everything went off without a hitch. Again, during a difficult time my family and I couldn't have asked for a better event manager to support us. The venue itself was open with natural light and it was nice to have the option of the bar inside the room. We received multiple comments from guests how nice it was to have a service there- felt light rather than dark and stuffy. The only non-positive thing I have to say is that the parking is a bit of a pain, but I feel like that is minimal compared to the venue, food and service. Once you're inside you forget about the hassle of parking and in all honestly, it's the trade off for having an event in a downtown area. The silver lining is that if folks want to go out after an event or in our case, arrive early and check out the Farmers Market, it makes for a nice option. read more

I recently filmed a wedding here. The venue it self is great. It has a nice large bar for big parties, a big open area for dancing, and grand windows to allow natural light in. It is also located in downtown campbell which in itself is a plus. Definitely check out this place if you need a hall. read more

Villa Ragusa was a beautiful venue. Hilary and Laura were responsive, professional and helpful. If i wrote an email I would get a response in an hour or sooner. It was probably sooner but lets say an hour to be safe. The venue was flexible about with the vendors we wanted to use as well as the number of vendors . They were always forthcoming with all the options for the venue, like the bar limits, or when the vendors could start setting up, or the number of events that would also be taking place on the day of my event. After searching reception sites high and low that would accommodate 250 people we came across Villa Ragusa. We met with Marisa and instantly hit it off. Their prices were very reasonable compared to other sites. We went with the priceless package and felt that it was the best value. It included things such as votives and candles, cake, appetizers, and chair covers. We also liked that they had a flat fee for their bar packages instead of a per drink price as all of the hotels do. The site was definitely more modern than some of the others we visited and the staff was very helpful. We did run into one issue at our tasting with the food that was served. They were very attentive and quickly re-scheduled a new tasting. They assured us that all the concerns would be corrected, and they were. We received many compliments on the food. Marisa made sure the night flowed smoothly and that everyone had a great time. We recommend Villa Ragusa to anyone looking for a reception facility. read more

Great venue for my friends wedding! I'm assuming that VR is best for humongous weddings, because it is huge. I was one of 350 guests on Saturday night. They had plenty of bartenders, two full blown bars, and a helpful staff. Food was decent. I had chicken in a light sauce with mashed potatoes and veggies. My card said salmon, but I wanted chicken, they were totally cool with the switch. The salad was just ok. The bleu cheese stuffed mushrooms stand out to me as the bomb hors d'ourves. Overall a great venue in a cool spot, downtown Campbell. read more
