Really enjoyed spending time at the Campbell tennis courts. The courts were clean, open, and surrounded by beautiful palm trees and greenery, which made the whole place feel especially pleasant on a sunny day. It is a nice spot to get in a good match, practice for an hour, or just enjoy being active outdoors. What I liked most was the overall atmosphere. The courts felt well kept, and the setting made it easy to relax and have fun at the same time. We even ended up getting creative after playing and made a little tennis ball pyramid on the court, which made the visit even more memorable. Campbell Community Center track is a gem. It's a 6 lanes track and great for any level of runner. It's got all the markings and is in good shape. It's open from sun rise until dusk and you'll see a variety of people doing different workouts and I've never seen it too packed. They've also got bleachers for those that want to get a stair workout in. The parking is plentiful and I'd recommend parking in the shade. This is mostly a track review but there's also a skate park and other fields where you can get some physical activity in. All in all it's a great place to get a little exercise in or even just get a walk in and some sun. read more

I'm a runner, but my work hours necessitate having to run after dark sometimes. The Campbell Community Center is an ideal place for running, not only because it's well lit at night, but also the environment is quite nice, clean, and feels safe. The track wrapped around the grassy field is made of rubber material, yet sturdy and easy to run on... As a frequent runner I can say that this track minimizes leg pain compared to running on concrete. One lap is about a quarter mile. Plus after dark, there were still a lot of people out, using the track and staying active, about 50+ people on a weekday evening, including couples and families. It didn't feel too crowded though. There are 5 lanes, and signs posting that runners use the inside lanes and slower people use the outside lanes (though not everyone reads or follows instructions). They have a full station of exercise equipment, and even the bleachers are used to run on... everything I would need for a good workout in one place. There's also a giant parking lot, so it's really convenient. I really appreciate the free facilities they offer to the public, especially the track, but there's also a skate park, multiple public restroom buildings, picnic benches and tables, and of course indoor space. read more

Rating for Senior Center. Great lunch provided for Seniors. My Dad paid his taxes for long time so they get discounted Senior lunch. I believe he stated it was 5 or 6 dollar donation. But he paid 9 dollars for me to come in for lunch ( Guests pay 9 dollars). I was not even hungry & wanted to skip it, but my Dad con me into coming... The food was wonderful. They usually serve Brown Rice & some type of protein & plenty of well cooked Veggies. Today, they had Black Rice which is super nutritious (delicious). The problem I had was I need a little freedom ( I take care of Mom/Alzheimers) so need break. Dad con me into coming with him & Mom but had I known the Bingo was so long, I would not have come. Dad like to donate to people but he does not understand that no matter how much he donate, he still has to follow the rules. Just to warn people, on the Bingo Days you are not allowed to talk & Dad was talking & annoying other tables. We would have been better off going to a restaurant where you are allowed to talk. We were initially sitting at a farther table so could have talked to each other there but somehow some people wanted us to move to the table next to the front (not sure why) but this caused Dad to be disruptive to their Bingo...so dont sit near the front during Bingo. It went on forever & my niece was visiting from out of town so we were not allowed to talk to her for 15 min. That was the only time I get to see her. So yes, Dad was dumb to take us to this event. We obviously had not seen each other in years & I really wanted to talk to my niece. The food was good, but I dont recommend the Bingo days if you are trying to get to know people. It does not feel social if you are sitting there staring at numbers. Be careful of the table next to us who gave dirty looks as Dad was talking for 10 seconds. Felt super safe with him as the lifeguard. The facilities are clean, efficient, & spartan! Love it. Was able to get in a serious work out in the pool...in between fab convo and joking about on the deck w/ the stealth IG supermodel. And met Dharma! Love her name! Passion + Skill + Selfless Service = Dharma. She's a fab lifeguard as well. My gosh. I am going to be in tip top Bond...I mean Ethan Hunt shape with all this swimming. It's gonna make me look more appetizing than Top Gun 2 on and off the beach. Watch out ladies! Hearts are gonna break. But reserving a time online is a must! And the experience is worth every penny! Took a CERT trauma stop the bleed class. The class was held at the old Campbell high school now known as Campbell community college. Instructions we're quite helpful. We learn the dues and don'ts of stopping open wound bleeds. Instructor Michael Grodin taught us the first things to do when coming on scene and then going from there like how to pack a wound, using a tourniquet, and the tools you need and should have on you in case of emergencies. I am a runner, so I really appreciate the lit track. Actually, I don't really run. I walk the track. OK, fine. I don't use the track, but I drive by it often on the way to Taco Bravo. Anyway, I do use the Campbell Community Center because they are housing the Campbell Express Library as they remodel the one at City Hall. And I love to read. Well, I don't read that much, and I'm not sure what vociferously even means. Actually, I don't read much. Fine, I just get the books to use as makeshift tables to eat my tacos. But, it is a cool site. It used the house Campbell's only high school. In 1985, it became the site for the parks & rec's classes and services, with banquet spaces and office spaces to rent, the Heritage Theater (which has hosted Billy Ocean, Leann Rimes, and the county's Teacher of the Year event), and the park, which has a football stadium and bleachers, fitness zone, skate park, picnic tables, about 800 parking spaces, year-round heated pool, 4 tennis courts, 3 handball courts, 2 gyms, and a partridge in a pear tree. read more

Katie is was amazing and super responsive! They did everything we needed and were so friendly and easy to work with. They even let is drop off stuff the night before. Parking: FREE & plentiful!!! Campbell community center really pulled through. We booked the Mary Campell room because rain was forecasted pretty much every day of the week of our daughter's birthday party. Make sure you reserve a room at least 10 days prior to your event, btw. We reserved it just in the nick of time. You can take a tour prior to submitting any payments, however, we were unable to do that given the recent storm. The website does have pictures of each room available for reservation, so that's incredibly helpful. I highly recommend the Mary Campbell room since it's directly across from the main parking lot and restrooms are right around the corner. It's a perfect size for a birthday party. The cost is pretty high per hour, but if you are a Campbell resident, or it's for a nonprofit, it's a bit cheaper. Unfortunately, we didn't belong to any of those categories lol. But, it was worth it given the rain. Definitely gave us a peace of mind. Oh, I definitely recommend calling after you submit the room set up page since there seem to be some tech issues either on my end or their end. I was really struggling trying to reserve a date at your recreation center. I wanted to book at the Edith Morley Park and I wasn't able to do it online. So I ended up calling and spoke with Elizabeth Polly Sabic! I can't remember when I received such amazing customer service. She went out of her way to make sure that everything I needed was an accomplished and she didn't stop until we were completely done. Great place for taking your kids to Have fun and get outside and play! They have a running track and stairs for adults to exercise. They even have a playground for kids. The Campbell community center has 4 of the best public tennis courts in the region. Free of charge, the courts are open 7am to 10pm, lighted, in pairs, with full windscreens on all sides, well surfaced, good nets, well painted, and benches between the fence partitioned courts. 90 minute limit on play while others are waiting, with a time board. On weekends it can get very busy, so we get there at 7am right when they unchain the fence doors. One court has a wall to hit against. Parking right next door. read more

Even though I drive by this community center on a regular basis, I don't often stop by it, though I have attended the annual Campbell Relay For Life on the track and field for several years in a row, and have also participated in classes and workshops. Anyway, the facilities are pretty nice and well maintained (in fact, it probably used to be an old high school that was recently renovated) and the track and field is great (it's not state of the art, but does serve its purpose). There's also a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a basketball gym available. Parking is plentiful but can be difficult especially during special events such as the aforementioned Campbell Relay For Life (usually held the second full weekend in July). read more

I finally made it around to this place, and let me tell you, I can't believe that I waited so long! The track was pretty awesome, and I got there around 05:15, which was nice and all, only a couple of people running, but within the hour, there were about 30 more people there! So my advice to you is you should definitely try and plan your day around the peak times, which are probably from 0600-2200. If not earlier or later... So yeah, be prepared to duck, dodge, dip and dive, because there will be a lot of traffic. Most people are pretty courteous, and stick to the outsides if they are slower, but some people just can't really read the notice that says, "RUNNERS ONLY", written several time, but whatever. Anyway, come check this place out if you enjoy running around a track, cuz it's pretty chill :) read more

Review for volleyball: Me and my friends love to come here on Mondays to play volleyball. It cost $7 from 7-10pm. There is always 1 court for beginners here. I love how there is a lady inside the gym managing the court. She always makes sure everyone has fun and get some play time. My friends had always had fun playing here. Everyone is really nice here, too. When we play on the beginner court, the advanced people may stop by to play with us. I'd definitely continue to come back here for indoor volleyball. read more

This community center is wonderful, keeping people healthy and active. Facility is in good condition and many classes to chose from if you are interested in signing up, or you can run/walk around the track, or drop in to lap swim at the outdoor heated swimming pool. I am taking spin class twice a week here. I love my instructor, Jennifer Correia, she's energetic, friendly, powerful and keep us motivating throughout the class - in short, she's someone you enjoy working out with. Spin bikes are easy to use and in good condition, I thought the indoor facility might get stuffy and hot but A/C and several fans keep the air well circulated, and usually it is almost too cold until we get going on the bike. I also utilize the track to run, especially at night when I cannot run the trail. The rubber track is easier on my knees and it is well marked (in meters) and well lit. It gets a bit crowded after work hours but I never had problem finding a parking space. Also there are tennis courts and skateboard park. It is truly all purpose community center providing many activities and place to come together for the community. read more

I just moved to San Jose a few months ago and yesterday I visited this track for the first time. It is OPEN AT NIGHT and it's LIT. My female friends say they feel SAFE here because there are at least 50 people around in the evening. It's a dilemma because it's safe, but it's also very crowded. There are people in every lane, on the grass, in the middle, and off to the side as well. It gets dark earlier this time of year so I feel like it might get more crowded, but I hear that as it gets colder less people come out to the track. Love it. I'll be back regularly. read more

I am so jealous of this complex, I might move to Campbell. incredibly beautiful, spacious, and brand spanking new. There's something for everyone, and enough that you don't have to wait to long, whether it's for parking or tennis courts. I've been here for a large community event (World Refugee Day), and staff members were very helpful in making sure it went smoothly. I appreciated the maps and clear signs everywhere too. The tennis courts are the only sports facilities I have used, and though the system of setting times is confusing (I still don't get it), everyone is courteous about playing for a decent amount of time before turning it over to people who are waiting. There are also security guys going around in their carts. They are surprisingly helpful and not obnoxious. read more

I love that this center exists. I play in the women's basketball league on Monday nights. Registration is always full because there are so many women wanting to join this league. The Center is pretty nice. I've explored a little bit in between my games. They have a pool, track, lots of cycling equipment, basketball court, a dance room, and a whole bunch of things I haven't even seen yet. If I didnt live in Union City and was way closer to Campbell I would frequent this Center more than once a week. They offer a ton of classes for all ages. I've been here to see Michael Pollan at the theatre and to use the outdoor track. The entire facility is very nice, well maintained and safe. Lights are on at the track til 10pm and I feel very comfortable working out there. There's even a fluffy gray cat that lives in the neighborhood who likes to come on to the track area to visit. Cutie pie. I have not tried the fitness classes or the rest of the facility but I'd be willing to bet it's great. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. read more

Review for the running track: I went here on Wednesday night to meet up with my running group for a track workout. The rubber track is nice to run on, but I think this track is a little too crowded for my taste and appears to be smaller in width than a traditional track. I ended up weaving in and out of traffic to avoid joggers/walkers. If you want to sprint down the straightaway, you have to be careful because someone may move in front of you. It's free and it's quite safe. Also they have built-in exercise area next to the track too which is nice. I may come here again to catch a bootcamp class through another running group I'm in, but not for a track workout. I rather go to a community college (De Anza or College of San Mateo) and pay $2 for parking for less of a crowd and a much bigger track. read more

I can't say enough good things about this facility. For the past several years, i have been using the athletic facilities and I am simply in love with this place. First off, all of the facilities themselves are nice, and most have recently been renovated including the pool. They have also recently purchased lots of new exercise equipment for the weight room, which is nice, even though i prefer free weights. The track is awesome. For years, i did all of my running (outside of events) here. There are lots of tracks around the bay that have recently been renovated to this softer, rubberized stuff, but no other track has so many people consistently running at it. I swear, from 6am till the lights go out at 930pm, there are always people running here. They also offer some great drop in stuff such as volleyball, yoga, and spin classes. They ALSO offer tons of special interest classes like cooking or dancing or music lessons at low cost to anyone who wants them. I am currently a member of triathlon training team, and the coaches there are just flat out great, knowledgeable people. 5 stars all the way, i don't know of any other community center around that is as good as this one. read more

I love that there are lights but wished there were more lights as some parts of the track is a bit darker than others at night. I love that there are lots of people there even in the evenings so you aren't alone jogging or running at night. Great to see people of all ages trying to stay and be healthy. read more

I can't comment on anything but the track, but I'm very thankful it's here! When I lag on doing my runs or need to at least walk off some calories after dinner, this is my go-to! Especially since during fall/winter the sun sets around 5pm, I need a place that's safe and lit. There's always people walking, but never TOO crowded when I've come. It starts to empty out after 9pm though. It'd be nice if the lights stayed on later 'til maybe midnight, but if 10pm is what they're gonna give, i'll take it! This last summer I attended an anniversary party here at the Campbell Community Center. There was a nice vow renewal ceremony in a church near downtown San Jose, then we all moseyed over to Campbell. Let me just one thing before I proceed: Santa Clara County has some of the most effed up freeways ever. I used to live up there in San Ho and I never thought much about it, but after having lived elsewhere, I gotta say that you guys don't make it easy for non-Natives to navigate around there. 280 turns into the 680? And the 17 turns into the 880? WTF? It took for-effing-ever to get to Campbell b/c we couldn't make head or tails with which direction to go. I suppose that's a good way to prevent an invading army from taking over y'all's cities since they'd get so frustrated just getting from one place to another that they'd just say "Eff it, Comrade. Let's get out of here before I go ballistic-ski." My mom (whom I was accompanying) wanted to give up, but I thought of the free food at the end of this effed up journey and I said we should persevere. And I'm glad we kept on driving. Holy cr@p is this place nice. You guys in Campbell are seriously blessed to have this beautiful facility. I live in L.A. where I don't think a place like this exists for any of the communities. I don't know, maybe it does and I'm just too lazy to look for it. Anyway, there's an astonishingly clean exercise facility with cardio machines and weights. There's a spacious meeting/ball room (where the anniversary party was held). There's the library with all them fancy looking books. I believe there's also a couple of gyms. And are ya kidding me with the dance studio? I whole-heartedly recommend that you people - yes, I said "you people" - take advantage of this place. Because it'd be a shame to let it go to waste - esp. since there are people like me not there who don't have such nice things. We have, like, Santa Monica and Vine, where we have Trannies hookers who hike up their skirts while running away from the Five-Oh. It's funny, but not fun. read more

Campbell has a nice community center -- neither skeezy nor snooty. It looks pretty and well-kept from the outside and is clearly well-used. My review is largely about the adult fitness classes they offer. Currently, I'm taking pilates and hatha yoga. The classes are continuous (you re-register for a very reasonable fee every couple months) and the instructors friendly, helpful, and competent. The center allows people to borrow various items for their classes, like rings and resistance balls for pilates and blocks and padded mats for yoga, on the honor system. The people taking classes are unpretentious and at all different levels. I'm at the "oh crap, what am I doing?" level, and I still feel happy to go and glad I went. Non-residents can also take classes for the same fee, provided there is room in the class once the non-resident registration period begins. I hate gyms, but I'm really enjoying taking fitness classes at the Campbell community center. read more
