I'm glad I found this place for my daughter's 1st birthday party. The location is in a residential area across the street from a school. The hall was a decent size for the party, ~80 people with plenty of space. I dealt with Tanya for all my party needs. She was quick to respond to my emails and very thorough with all the information. The day of the event went smoothly. I believe Nathan was working the front desk and we did a quick walk through to make sure everything was ok. I'm 5 months pregnant and he was happy to help me bring out some extra tables while I waited for my helpers to arrive. The party ran smoothly and we had zero issues. I would recommend this place for birthday parties. The hall holds up to ~200-250 people I think. Pricing is reasonable compared to other places around the Bay Area. read more

From a review I found elsewhere. I couldn't have said it better. "It was rarely used before the pandemic. It's a community center that closes before most people are home from work on weekdays and not open on weekends unless rented for rates too high for it's community. It's always a mess outside so who would pay a premium price? Even during a heatwave the pool is usually closed. Motels have more pool access. It's on a dead end street area where people come to practice sideshows or party in their cars every Saturday and Sunday because the Mayfair Community Center is a ghost town every weekend all year long. The whole area including the creek next to it looks like a potentially beautiful park and recreation area just waiting for better management and someone who doesn't view the area as undeserving of middle class treatment. Went here for a baby shower for my friend. My minus star is because of the lack parking. If you were to have a wedding party here, which I'm sure does get rented out for. Well, your guests really need a place to park their cars. Inside the hall, it is very spacious and clean. Great kitchen area. I saw kids outside playing on the playground. Every neighborhood needs a park and this one has provided. Yay. read more

They host great events for the community in a fun and safe environment.Eric and his team are dedicated and take pride in serving all who vist the center. Plus I got married here!!! The rental process was easy. My son went here for the first time and had a blast!! The staff made his 2 weeks here memorable. I was impressed by the excellent service - when we arrived we were greeted sincerely by the front desk and again when we left for the day. Camp San Jose staff - by far has exceeded my expectations - they are engaging, friendly, detail oriented and fostered a great community for the youth. words can't even express how appreciative i am for having such an amazing group of staff members mentor my son. thank you for a great summer - looking forward to next year :) read more

This place is a brand new place, it's clean and really nice and big for about 300 people but don't let the newness of this place fool you the major cons were: The hourly rental is $125.00 (not bad at all) plus $46.00/hr for Police men whom just stand there doing nothing even if we call them to get people uninvited out! plus $34.00/hr for two staff member whom are doing nothing at all! If you want the stage and use the kitchen it's more $$$ and funny how it comes with the tables but you pay $1.00 per chair. OH! and guess what?! you need to be out by 10:00 and cleaning should be done by 11:00! are you kidding me? the party starts at 10:00 It should end up at 12:00 and cleaning by 1:00. But if you are very desperate you need to rent this hall do it just don't say you didn't read this! Try other halls that are less expensive and parties can end at 12:00 or 1:00 a.m. read more

A health forum was held here yesterday. Services like eye exams, acupuncture, HIV, stress test, blood pressure check, flu shots, etc. were offered for free. Knowing anything that is given for free, I expected a mob therefore I came early. I was the first to register (more like you sign a liability and confidentiality form) then it's free for all. By the time I got back from a walk, I was behind 15-20 people. The line grew gradually and when it started to get rowdy, I then asked myself why in hell am I there? I could pay the $115 to get my eyes examined to avoid this headache. The volunteers were all kids- very friendly and I love it when I see volunteers at any age enjoy it because life is about helping others - to me. I volunteered at Laneview Elementary when I was in 6th grade, I volunteered at Toyon Elementary, I volunteered at the San Jose Family Shelter, I was an ombudsman for Catholic Charities, I bake for the fire stations near my place of residence, and I made sandwiches and passed them around in the city. So as you can see, I am all about helping others even when I need help myself. The people that organized this event and the people trying to make this a political thing were NOT friendly. A Mexican lady walked by and was surprised that her friend was there, I understand Spanish, very little though but yes, she was a friend.. she then register then stood in line where her friend was, in front of me and a million others. A Vietnamese lady about 3 heads behind me made a scene - about the lady cutting in line. Staff ran out and basically made the Vietnamese lady looked stupid. I said, "Just because she cannot understand English fluently doesn't make her outcry invalid. That lady did cut in line and you are allowing it?" That was the last straw.... of course after being bothered by a random few, I left. I wasted 2 hours of my life. I could have been working out instead of working out at the empty gym in the afternoon! Blah. Before receiving any services... you must attend the political thing. Screw that. This isn't about helping the middle class.. this is about swaying voters in exchange for the health services. Though a great service and a great team of volunteers.. I made a big mistake coming here. You pay for quality and boy, that's what I should have done. read more

NEEDS MORE PARKING, It's irritating to have to come here see no Parking AT all, I have to park in a neighborhood at walk 5 minutes, In the sun, just to take my sibling to a 30 minute swimming lesson which at this point is feeling like a huge waste of time. Frankly I don't like complaining especially about something that's feels a little small but having to come here EVERYDAY for a month and not finding one parking space EACH DAY is irritating! read more

My son went to preschool for a year and half there and loved it. They have very nice staff.

If I could give this place 0 stars then I would! My godson was drowning during his swimming lesson .. 90 % of his body was under the water my aunt screamed for help 3 times! And no one on duty bothered to save him! So my aunt took the initiative to jump in the pool and save him herself! Mind you the lifeguard had the nerve to ask if my godson was in the class!?!! Like are your serious regardless if he wasn't in the class or not he was a fuckin life gaurd! And my godson was drowning! So if you'd like to risk your child's life feel free to sign up! hope this business goes down! So unprofessional! And so careless!!! read more

I call this the red park because there's a lot of red concrete. The locals are nice. Park is smooth and clean of debre for a smooth skate. It's nice to see sponsored skaters visit too. The only thing that sucks is when the sun's setting and it's blazing in your face. read more

The park is a really nice, good smooth concrete all over with piping or metal coping oneverything. Nice transitions and a nice mini pipe with a pretty good sized box in the middle. If you go around 11-2 you'll pretty much have the park to yourself until everyone gets out of school but still not that crowded. Excellent park read more

Last week, I paid a visit to the facility to get a feel of it since my daughter starts swim classes on the 15th. I was apalled with how the "Director of First Impressions" ( or so I thought ) approached me. I will spare the kind of un-professionalism work ethic this lady said/ showed because clearly, she was just not having a good day! Here is my 2 cents regarding the 3 stars I gave to this place. Customer service was horrible. Being that you are the first contact in any workplace, you would think to at least greet your patrons with respect. Shame on you! This is a community center where kids/patrons can enjoy themselves instead of going off some place else doing God knows what. How dare you blame your attitude on these kids. Mind you, I arrived to the facility right when school got out. There are 2 schools on the block and this place was filled with kids. Other than that, this place is beautiful for being in the hood. I've lived in East SJ all my life and can honestly say that this is another icing on the cake for our beautiful city. There are banquets halls you can rent out, a lounge in the front lobby, a park for kids aged 2-5 years old ( as clearly stated on the park rules sign ), a small water park, picnic tables with limited BBQ pits, and a beautiful green grass field. They offer a good amount of activities which you can find online on the City's website under the PRN section. We'll see how it goes. We'll be here for most of the summer since my daugther is enrolled in 4 sessons of swim classes. read more

Summer program offered af is the worst place to sign up your child. There are bullies all put together in classroom. And the staff of college or high students are not trained nor have knowledge to faciliate or be with children not paying attention incidents occuring. Customer service front desk greet if they want to or not. I was hoping a bit of professionalism and welcome instead it lacks all areas. I would not recommend this place to no one! I hope this place does change if not it will go down hill word will spread around terrible place to take a child to. read more
