Hidden Lake is a great serene park for having lunch, watching ducks, and a great place to exercise…read more Get your steps in at this park by walking around the lake or if you go up the steps there is a pathway that is nicely paved. Ride your bike around the lake or if you have a little one have them burn their energy riding a bike, scooter, or roller skate. Plenty of people are there especially in the morning so I have always felt safe. I have seen some people fish here at different times of the day. It has a small parking lot located in a safe neighborhood. There are no bathrooms at this park.

Due to being part of a community, there are a ton of guest parking (especially near the gates to this park) BUT if you keep driving, the parking lot for this "park" is on the outside (you turn in with the sign "HIDDEN PARK LAKE" in green lettering/tanish brown background and there are a few spots for you to pick from). Two stairways up to other flat cement ground trails. Very quarry lake vibes but not much water. Lake itself is a smaller circular flat cement ground leveled trail. Regarding up the stairs: One way does end up at another park whereas the other way just ends up in another neighborhood/main road. Lack of shade. Lots of ducks. There's few places to sit. Few trash bins. No visible toilets.

Lauren Correia, the Guest Services Manager and previously the Sales Manager, was truly one of the highlights of my time there. She was always warm, responsive, and incredibly helpful whenever questions came up regarding fees, renewals, or membership matters. She consistently made the experience feel personal and easy. Since then, my son has attended both camp and several Parents' Night events, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kids World. The entire team is exceptional. I have experience with other children's camps, and Dasha Nonkin, the Kids Club Manager, really stood out. She was thorough, kind, organized, and very detail-oriented. It is clear that she takes tremendous pride in the camp program and in creating a meaningful experience for the children. My son was treated like gold. He did incredibly well, learned so much, and came away with stronger social skills, a better understanding of teamwork, and so much enthusiasm for the arts and crafts, projects, and activities. He genuinely raved about his experience and wants to continue to join future camps! I am extremely grateful to Dasha and the entire Kids World team for creating such a positive, enriching, and caring environment for him.

With the auto belay, it's easier to clip on and just climb, so you can climb more reps also. Friendly staff. Remember those days in the playground and their climbing structures? Well, as an adult, The Peak is the place to reignite that hobby and enjoy the sport with a rich community of professionals and enthusiasts. This huge facility is shared among The Peak's climbing structures, an indoor volleyball court, a casual restaurant, and a small arcade. There aren't many parking spots up front but around the back of the building, you'll see plentiful spots. Once you enter the building, head to the left through the glass doors where you'll see the many climbing walls speckled with multiple colored protrusions. The pricing is transparent and it's all available upfront. They do have day passes, multi-visit passes as well as memberships that will waive your entrance fee. In addition to the entrance fee, you may also be required to pay for the harness and shoe rentals (members get a discounted price). They also have chalk for the more advanced climbers. If it's your first time, consider completing the waiver online ahead of time. You may be asked to go through a quick orientation regarding the use of their auto-belay system, however if you already know how to belay traditionally, they may ask you to go through additional training just to be sure. Each wall seemed to feature a variety of colors to distinguish the different difficulty levels for more advanced climbers. Aside from the walls, they also have a huge structure designed for bouldering with a thick padded floor underneath. The boulder and auto-belay walls seemed the most popular but it didn't seem there was much waiting given the ample space in the facility. There was certainly enough climbing space for everyone. As a novice, the activity was fun and tiring; there's definitely a balance between technique and strength! Despite having entry for the whole day, we definitely were tired out within an hour of constant climbing and by hour two, it was just about time to leave and refuel. Fortunately, the location of this space is quite convenient due to having a restaurant right on site as well as its proximity to the highway and other eateries just a few minutes away. The staff were friendly and informative. Besides the initial onboarding, there wasn't much interaction with them. They seem to keep things organized, cleaned and well-maintained. Overall, The Peak does a fantastic job introducing the sport of climbing to the local community and providing a clean and safe environment for newbies and experts alike. The price is reasonable for an all day activity and even more so if you become a member. For kids, they also have camps to build a new passion and train them up as climbers. For the more serious climbers, you may want to consider investing in the equipment to further save on the rentals. If this is a new challenge for you, take the opportunity to get in on this sport! The Peak makes it relatively easy to pick this up and continue leveling up with each visit!

The first thing that struck me was the beautiful fountain and how quiet it is here, in the background someone was playing and accordion " the atmosphere was so serene" There are park benches under shady trees also there are a bunch of benches around the fountain, behind the rose garden there is a big field of grass that you can sit on and have a picnic. The roses are so beautiful and many smell to the delight of your senses. Such a great place to stroll around, read, I have a cup of coffee, enjoy the wonderful smell sight of the roses and or have a picnic.

This was our first visit of San Jose. We have an amazing International Rose Garden in Sacramento…read more It's part of the capital park. Along with the roses it's filled with memorials. Our family has a couple there as memories of our love ones. Compared to the Municipal Rose Garden- San Jose, our rose garden is tiny. Soon as i read a review on yelp left by one for the many yelpers I follow, I knew I had to see it for myself The yelp review only has the cross streets, which makes it difficult to plug it into your gps. I googled the rose garden and only got the cross streets. I then plugged Municipal Rose Garden, San Jose, CA to my google maps it pulled it right up with the actual address: 1649 Naglee Ave, San Jose, CA 95126. This made me so much more comfortable being able to find it without having to drive around. Google took us right there to the front gate. There are actually 3 main gates to get to the garden and it backs against a green belt so you can park anywhere along there and ease your way in. Parking is all street parking in a suburban neighborhood. Most of the homes have roses in their front gardens. Lots of them have roses lining their driveways. There are 2 public restrooms that were actually open on a Sunday in September. We were there Labor Day Weekend 2026. The men's and women's restrooms are not next to each other. They are by opposite gates. The bathrooms are your typical park bathrooms. Not the cleanest, made of cement and metal toilets. They have doors on the stalls that lock and they had plenty of TP. They have this odd metal gadget that dispensed soap if you push on the lever. I was happily surprised that the bathroom had soap as most park bathrooms lack soap. I was happy they had a cleanish bathroom. This park is the perfect place to take romantic pictures. If you are a professional photographer you need a permit and I belive it costs $100 for that permit. There is a sign in the park with a phone number for professional photographers to call, so there is no surprise for them. Talking pictures, there are many arches that are perfect for standing under and having a friend taking your picture. It looks so much better if you have someone take your picture as then you can see the whole arch. I should have asked someone to take our picture instead of just taking the selfie. We did get some great pictures. Some were not so good as the sun was in our eyes and we were squinting really bad. We took our time exploring the roses and really enjoyed ourselves. One thing I didn't notice was the iconic smell didn't vape though the rose garden. That is where the Sacramento Rose Garden excels in. They have many aromatic roses that wafts through the garden. The nice thing about this garden being so large is you can take pictures without having people in your shots as there is so much room to move around in. In addition to roses, there are also redwoods cluster in the garden. It almost felt like you are in a redwood forest if you stand in the middle of the grove. The Municipal Rose Garden was worth the stop. I'm so glad we made the time to stop by and allowed time to just wander and explore the many varieties of roses. One thing they didn't have were signs so you know what each breed of roses you are looking at, the Sacramento Rose Garden has signs so that is another difference. While we were there a park ranger and a volunteer were busy pruning the rose bushes.

I was initially a little anxious that the sunlight would be too harsh since the area is mostly exposed, but the lighting ended up being perfect and really helped create the dreamy, ethereal vibe we were hoping for in our photos! We drove to the area marked as "Top of the Hill, Del Valle Rd" and there was plenty of parking available along the side of the road, which made it really convenient to get to our photoshoot location. The sites were huge and even better there was plenty of flat ground for pitching tents. Showers and bathroom facilities deeper in the campground towards site 39 were very clean and very new. The hot showers were also super warm and the best part is no coins. The bathrooms themselves also seemed to be heated so even in the cold october evenings, you were warm inside the bathroom. We did not go down to the water due to blue algae, but there was still plenty of things to do for the kids as they loved being able to ride all around the grounds on their bikes. Fire pits in the evening were also very clean and had plenty of airflow to make good bonfires. There were regular patrols from the rangers and the east bay regional parks police, it all felt very safe. Just be advised that there's plenty of wildlife in the evenings and they do not seem like they are scared of people. We had a family of four raccoons in the tree at our site and there was also a skunk that visited and got within a few feet away from us one night. Thankfully it lost interest and left, otherwise we would have been in trouble. There were also deer and squirrels to be seen. Please watch out for rattlesnakes as well, we stumbled upon one on the road while biking around the camp ground. Make sure all food including uncooked pasta noodles are stored in a safe location overnight Otherwise, the animals will get into it. No bear boxes at the sites, so may need to store things in your vehicle. All in all everyone had a fantastic time and the kids loved it. We'll be back next year.
