Nice little neighborhood park, with amenities including a couple of basketball courts and a decent playground area.

Where do I begin to express my DEEPEST GRATITUDE TO THE WORKERS HERE, ESPECIALLY THE FOLKS THAT RUN…read moreTHE LUNCH SERVICES, THE YOGA INSTRUCTOR, & EVERYONE ELSE THAT SERVES AS A LIFELINE FOR THE SENIORS, even ones w/ dementia like my mom. While my mother has been dealing w/ slow cognitive decline, most (if not all) of her friends & family have dropped off the face of the planet and stopped calling or coming by. She's been lonely and missing "community." Welp, NOT anymore, and due to the absolutely loving vibes found in the staff, the kindest angels on the planet that greet the seniors coming for lunch. I cry w/ joy because how AMAZINGLY well my mother has been treated by her yoga teacher, meditation, zumba, and everyone else. She has found a sense of belonging, and rekindled that passion for the healing arts that have always been a part of her life, even now in her current stage of dementia. THANK YOU WG Community Center; ya'll are the BEST thing that happened to my mother, and as someone who went to WG & grew up in this area, her being so loved and included has been the biggest blessing and slow welcome home she, and every other senior deserves (and needs). I can't thank ya'll enough. I want the community at large, & world to know what a PROFOUND impact your all's CARE & deep commitment to bettering the lives of seniors has made on my mother's life (and mine). I hope ya'll get ALL the funding you need to make a bigger center, because you all are doing AMAZING work that's deeply impactful and helpful to seniors like my mother who've lost most of her friends. She has NEW ones now, and is so much happier thanks to YOU. Truly.

We visited for the first time today. My kids really enjoyed the pool. It was pretty crowded but it…read morewas Saturday AND hot. $3/kid and $4/adult. There were about 5 or 6 lifeguards watching the pool at all times. Kids are allowed to bring in floaties, noodles, body boards, etc. Also, jumping into the pool from the side is ok. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun (very much unlike the Y), yet safe. There's also a diving board, which could also be for cannonballs. There are showers in the locker rooms with that spinning machine for your suits. I wish they would extended their hours just a little bit. Currently open 1:30 to 3:30 Mon - Sat. (only for the summer)

Lot's of friendly and passionate volleyball players of all ages (starting at teen and going up to senior citizen). This place also has a nice fitness gym. The staff is friendly. The hours work for us (8 am to 5 pm weekdays). Good selection of cardio and strength building equipment. The value is incredible- $100 for the year, or a daily drop in fee that is very reasonable (I forget what it is).

There doesn't appear to be any security, and the area gets very dark, empty, and isolated-looking in the evening. There are at least two designated homeless parking facilities in San Jose that also provide services, food, case management, and so on. At the very least, if the Cambrian Community Center is going to permit all this going on in the parking lot, they should provide additional security and lighting.
