I absolutely love the beautiful aesthetic: greenery, center fountain, geese, high trail at the top, quaint houses. one circle around is about 0.3-0.4miles so on the smaller side. great for an afternoon stroll with family! no hills, bumps, wide road

Turtles, Pigeons, Ducks, and I hear there are carps in the water

I don't really think this "lake" or "park" is nice or worth visiting. There's no shade. Lots of sleeping geese / ducks. Lots of their poop. A lot of red eared slider turtles, which are the most invasive species of turtles! I heard on youtube there are carp in the water. You're not supposed to fish here though. A bit of a walk up the stairs and you can get to a trail.. which is also hardly noteworthy. It was dry in 2021, and hardly any water flowing in Summer 2023.

Do you think they'll get mad if I bring my plant clipping shears next time I visit?

Great park to walk your dog. They say, just letting your dog out in the backyard is like reading the same book over and over and over again. Better that you bring your dog to an interesting place like hidden Lake.

Can't believe its taken me this long to actually stop by this hidden little gem! I drove by countless times, but never took the time to stop and enjoy the park or the scenery. Hidden Lake Park is a brilliant tiny little neighborhood park well maintained by the city of Milpitas. The parking lot is tiny as well, so is the main park area by the lot. There are a few other pockets with tables and benches spread all around the park where one can hangout. This 6.5-acre park has 2 barbeque units, 3 tables, parking for 5, and a lake with ducks. A nice place to relax. Location: North Milpitas Boulevard between Escuela Parkway and Jacklin Road. - City of Milpitas https://www.ci.milpitas.ca.gov/milpitas/departments/recreation-services/parks/ There is a trail on the backside that can be accessed by two sets of stairs. I didn't get a chance to check it out, but it looks much longer and perhaps will need some more time to explore.

    Lots of birds

This is a nice little park and lake situated along Berryessa Creek Trail (stairs connecting the park and trail). On North Milpitas Blvd, you'll find the entrance to a small parking lot with exactly 13 spaces for vehicles, plus one handicap spot. The park is an awesome place to go for a run, about one third of a mile around the lake, but a beautiful enough setting to take several laps and not get bored, and also easy to hop onto the Berryessa Creek Trail if you want to cover more ground. Very peaceful for sure. And there are two fountains in the middle of the lake that sprinkle cool drops of water on you along with the breeze if you're walking or running on the path around the lake on a hot day. There are so many birds here... ducks, geese, pigeons, birds I can't even name! They sleep and hangout over the rocks surrounding the lake, some almost camouflaged with the large jagged stones. And flocks of birds fly in circles over the lake before landing in the water, almost putting on a show for visitors, it's so beautiful.. especially the geese, they looked so graceful in the air. There are also a lot of turtles here. They bob their heads, floating and swimming near the edge of the water, some even climbing onto rocks and posing like baby statues. I've never seen so many turtles in a hidden neighborhood park, it was amazing. The lake is almost triangle shaped, with a concrete trail along the border. The side of the lake near the parking lot is fenced off, but the rest of the lake is open/unfenced. There is also a fence bordering the whole park, separating it from the neighborhood streets and homes. Three small picnic areas are situated on different corners of the lake, each with 2-3 picnic tables and seating, a couple of the picnic spaces providing comfortable shade for those warm sunny days. There are bird poop stains in some parts of the grounds, but it's not excessive like at some other parks (ie. Emma Prusch). And the scent of bird poop could only be smelled at one corner of the park, other than that, there were no unpleasant odors throughout the park, not even of the landfill of Milpitas, at least the day I visited. There's nothing I didn't like about this place. I think I found my new favorite local park!

This is a nice spot on my way to work that I stopped by to get a quick walk. Very peaceful, it's nestled right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I like it for a change up to my normal spots, it's just not very large so I have to do multiple laps to get the walk time/distance that I prefer.

Second time coming to Hidden Lake Park and each time I kick myself in the butt for not making the drive more often. With a name like this, this tiny little park could easily be overlooked. Hidden right in the middle of residential property, I'd recommend you slowing down your speed to navigate better. The park is small in size so don't expect anything too hardcore when it comes to getting in a workout. There is an option of heading up the stairs and into another trail- I didn't explore but there were tons of visitors who did. 5 star kinda place with its kick back vibes but I deducted one star due to the crowdedness and the lack of people wearing masks. FYI- the restrooms always seem to be locked. Don't expect one to be available when coming here.

A hidden gem I recently discovered despite living here all my life. Great place for a walk/run. Fully paved. Small parking lot in front. Dog friendly. Please don't feed the ducks/birds!!

    Almost time for sunset!
    Elaine N.

When my friend and I arrived on Saturday to watch the sunset, there was almost nobody else walking around this lake. We were fine with that since at least that meant we wouldn't have to squeeze through large crowds!...unless this lake really is hidden so not much people know about it, but we didn't have trouble finding it. Haha, but anyways!...I noticed there's not a lot of animals or much to see here around this lake compared to other lakes, but it was still very calm and nice. I'd recommend this place! It's a nice sized lake to walk around if you're in the mood for a good and somewhat short walk. The trail here is flat and it's a good place to watch the sunset and take pictures here too. The only downside about this lake is that there's not much to see or do here.

Had a good walk around the hidden lake and it was so meditating view with the wild birds around Make sure to take a jacket, it gets cold at night

Hidden Lake Park is the perfect name for this park because it's literally hidden. For many years, I never realized that Milpitas had it's own man made lake. I like going here because it's not far from my home, it's not crowded compared to other parks, there a good amount of parking, there are benches and tables near the parking lot, but they also have benches surrounding the lake as well. What I like most about the lake, is all of the birds you get to see and the water sprinklers. It's a nice place to wind down and relax after work or during the weekends. It's also dog friendly as well. If you want to go for a short walk or need a place to unwind, I definitely recommend stopping by this hidden park in Milpitas.

A lovely spot for a hike! My best friend and I needed some catching up to do and Hidden Lake Park was the perfect fit. The scenery is nice and we loved being accompanied by all of the geese and ducks in the area :) The park is also connected to a trail that gives a nice view of the creek and the possibility of spotting large trains passing by; always something calming to look at.

This is more of a pond than a lake, with about a 0.4 mile perimeter walking trail. It's really more of a residential park, with some public parking and a fenced perimeter. There is a nice bench seating area, and plenty of birds. It's a nice place to hang out for maybe around 30 min, but nothing here to do except admire the view for a bit. I imagine that sunsets here are beautiful. Still, a remarkable find in the middle of Milpitas.

    Is there any fees?

No fee for parking. No fee for entry. Open to the public during regular park hours, people even visit at night sometimes to go running or walk their dogs.

    Is swimming allowed?

    No swimming allowed.

Is this place a good place to stargaze at night?

it's not dark enough, too many lights from the surrounding area

    Still allowed to fish here?

Have anyone caught any fish here?

I walk around here a lot and I've actually seen some people catch some fish.

Is this place visible from the street, I couldn't figure out how to find it so I left and went fishing somewhere else?

No, area just looks residential, but the Yelp map location is correct and other maps show the tiny lake. You need to be southbound on North Milpitas Blvd to pull into small parking lot. Fishing better at a larger lake like Lake Chabot.

    Is fishing allowed?

    Yes

With an upcoming play date planned between myself and a gf, I was happy that this particular park was picked for our meet up. First things first, this park is MASSIVE! Delano Manongs Park is broken into 10 parts- YES, I SAID 10!! This includes a small and large dog park, multiple gardens, a fitness station, and a number of play structures to keep all your little munchkins happily occupied. The park is very well kept, the restrooms are very doable, and with its large size, there isn't that congested feeling you get with other locations. On top of the many perks, there is a large field to kick or throw around a few balls. The only flaw- and might I add that it is a big one- is the lack of actual shade. Your relief from the sun's powerful rays is limited to the gazebo where the benches are or using the large flower structures as a shield. 5/5 stars all in all. This is lots of fun for kids of all ages.

There's one man there burning the incense to pay respect but mostly it was just visitors checking out the place like visiting a museum than worshipping gods. This spot also has a restroom. Then there're more stairs up, and soon transitions to uphill trails with big patches of grass growing along sides. No cows or other animals insight. To our left is the beautiful valley and a dropping sun. When the wind blows, it was beautiful and magical. As we continued the climb and reached the top where there are a lot of smaller porcelain statues displayed on top of poles. It was super windy up there so we didn't linger. Going down was much quicker. There's a portion of the trail where it was slippery with gravel, fortunately, next to it there's a flight of stairs for easier walking and the steps are not that high. By the time we got down to the first gods lawn, there's a security car probably clearing out the place. A car just arrived and was told to turn back because they were closing. We were all very satisfied with this hike.

We wanted to find a park that is relatively new/in good condition and not too crowded to let the little ones safely play. I'm honestly surprised that this isn't a more popular place to bring your kids. I suppose a part of it is because it is a neighborhood park without dedicated parking, although there is plenty of street parking. With that being said, the play area is gated so it is safe to let your children roam with supervision, the play structures are all in very good condition and the padded flooring is intact across the park. Very suitable for toddlers and older children, they even have a baby changing station inside of the bathroom, as well as adequate drinking fountains and drinking fountains for dogs. We were there on a Saturday morning, from 9 to 10am and were the only family there the entire time. This is completely different compared to some of the other parks in Sunnyvale or San Jose, where it can become a zoo by that time. We will definitely be setting up future play dates here.

The only water fountain I found was by the picnic/playground/bathroom area and it had a lower fountain for dogs. **Dog park: The dog area was really small, all dirt with one bench. Big dog and small dog are separated but the size is pretty similar to each other with the big dog having just a LITTLE bit more space. It was empty for me except for 1 dog owner but I wonder if there would be more dogs after-work hours for some socialization :-) you would have to walk a little but further down to the main area for water fountain.
