I visited on a summer day when temperatures were around 90°F. It was quite hot, with little to no breeze. We stayed until sunset, the lake reflected the evening colors, it's beautiful.

There's a nice grassy area in the center and I noticed a few instances of owners playing catch with their dogs off-leash. There are picnic tables by the playground and public bathrooms all in the same area. The only water fountain I found was by the picnic/playground/bathroom area and it had a lower fountain for dogs. **Dog park: The dog area was really small, all dirt with one bench. Big dog and small dog are separated but the size is pretty similar to each other with the big dog having just a LITTLE bit more space. It was empty for me except for 1 dog owner but I wonder if there would be more dogs after-work hours for some socialization :-) you would have to walk a little but further down to the main area for water fountain.

We wanted to find a park that is relatively new/in good condition and not too crowded to let the little ones safely play. I'm honestly surprised that this isn't a more popular place to bring your kids. I suppose a part of it is because it is a neighborhood park without dedicated parking, although there is plenty of street parking. With that being said, the play area is gated so it is safe to let your children roam with supervision, the play structures are all in very good condition and the padded flooring is intact across the park. Very suitable for toddlers and older children, they even have a baby changing station inside of the bathroom, as well as adequate drinking fountains and drinking fountains for dogs. We were there on a Saturday morning, from 9 to 10am and were the only family there the entire time. This is completely different compared to some of the other parks in Sunnyvale or San Jose, where it can become a zoo by that time. We will definitely be setting up future play dates here.

The park is divided in two: big dog and small dogs. Its mostly just dry dirt with some tanbark along the edges. No poop bags are provided however, there is a spot for some tennis balls and a water fountain along with a big bowl. Theres 4 benches mostly parked under the shade of big trees so you can expect a bit of seating. Parking right next to the dog park is pretty limited as it's mostly just street parking along Piedmont Road. No food or drinks are allowed and people, for the most part, follow the rules. Sometimes people bring their medium/large dogs into the small dog park so do keep an eye on your dog. The park is pretty well kept and clean throughout despite no bags being provided. Most of the people who frequent this park seem very kind and warm. If you have a social pup, I would come here and check it out.

The park technically closed at 10pm but is opened pretty much 24/7 with the exception of Weds mornings until 3pm. Also there's WiFi and tables here which is really nice. Gripes are the train station near by, can get really loud -- sheer volume of dogs, which is a double edged sword and some owners being on their phone but chill otherwise. It also smells really strongly of pee -- recommend not being on the turf and getting your dog a good wipe down after.

The small dog area was separated from the large dog area, and it was secure. It was extremely clean as well! No dog poop!! The doggie owners were also very responsible, which was such a tremendous relief! Everyone stood around observing all of the play time, and ensured that things didn't get too out of hand. Another relief is that none of the dogs were aggressive. And yes, there are some small dogs that have aggressive behavior. Not the case here. All of the pups got along so well! In all, this is an amazing dog park and I plan to bring my girls here on a regular basis.

The owner brought the same exact dog back to the park today unmuzzled, and it aggressively went after and bit my dog multiple times. What frustrates me the most is the complete lack of preventive action. If a dog has a proven history of biting other animals, letting it roam a public off-leash area without a muzzle is completely reckless. The owner didn't take any steps to prevent a repeat incident after the first attack, putting every other dog and person in that yard at risk. If you see two St.Bernards whose owner can't manage it, do yourself a favor and turn right back around.

Some people watch their dogs attentively, and others don't. The ones that don't watch their four legged friends tend to have misbehaving dogs; humping other dogs, getting into fights, harassing other dogs, and likely to not pick up their dogs poop. The list of all the bad stuff goes on, and you WILL see these common problems at other dog parks. There's no perfect dog park, everyone really need to watch out for their own: - Stay alert - Bring your own water - Protect your dog On the good side, your dog will find a new buddy and they will chase each other and play. This place is great to train your dogs impulses. I've walked on the outside of the the enclosed area to help leash train my dog. If she does well, she gets play, if not she goes home whimpering like the spoiled girl she is. Then repeat and reward often until she understands not to pull so damn hard... but I digress, this park is great. Not too big, not too small. See you guys there!

I picnicked under the trees, enjoying some good eats from Shrimp'n Aint Eazy while listening to live music by the San Jose Jazz Collective on a breezy Sunday afternoon. Nothing really notable about the scenery here, but it's a nice enough park and a lovely setting for events like this.

It's in such a a convenient area, and right next to the neighborhood park as well! They separate the little and big dogs into two different sections. Our little chug (chihuahua/pug mix) can only handle the little side for now!! Its a decent amount of space for all the small doggies to run, and cute little photo ops for your furry loved ones! Theres also a lot of places to sit/stand for all the owners to watch their dogs, as well as poop stations with bags that you can use to pick up after your dog! I have no complaints about this place at all! Every time I take my dog here, he gets more and more accustomed to the scenery. The other dog park goers are always so friendly as well. It's a real growing community over here and I love how this aspect has been added to Newark's community!
