Clean and safe area! I wonder why the reviews are so low. For a public park, it is well kept and clean. There are restrooms right in the front with several doggy bag stations scattered throughout the trail. On the far right of the park, there is a nice picnic area with plenty of tables and grills all underneath a roof! Perfect for summer BBQs. They also have tennis courts towards the back and two playgrounds. I love coming here for picnics or just to walk my dog around! read more

It's hard to find a beautiful park these days and Pinewood Park, needless to say, has almost everything in it. It's a very well maintained, neat & clean facility with good play area amenities for the kids. Thanks to the City of Milpitas Maintenance Team. Rest of the Park's playground area is spacious and large, making it easier for kids to play in groups or families and friends having a leisure picnic time. Though I've not been a regular or everyday visitor to this park but been here twice and had a wonderful time so far, practicing Yoga with my friends at early morning hours & attending one of my friend's kid's birthday party. They've around 4 covered picnic areas where you can host parties if you're an outdoor party lover or just hangout with people, enjoying the pleasant weather. Quick tips, - To use the covered picnic area, you need to make a reservation in advance. Have a look at City of Milpitas website for more details on reservation, (http://www.ci.milpitas.ca.gov/government/recreation/facility_park_facilities.asp) - I've not seen a separate parking lot as such, although I've also not found any problems in finding a good & legal street parking till date. - It's Pet friendly. - Location landmark: Near 'Pearl Zanker Elementary School', Milpitas. read more

If you're kids need to run around after shopping at the Great Mall in Milpitas then this is a great close by park. Kind of hidden in a residential neighborhood next to a school. This is a good park to let your kids run around without too much worries. 2 different play structures that are on opposite ends of the park. I've lived by this park for most of my life and seen it developed throughout the years. Recently, the park had gone under major renovations with fenced off areas in many places of the park, but even through all the construction work many patrons and families still came by to walk their dogs, exercise, or take their children out to play. The recent construction added a new and improved playground catering to children from ages 2-5 years-old. As well as a new picnic area with three designated locations each with a sheltered high ceiling canopy, barbecue pit, and all weather picnic tables. The park also smoothed out its landscapes leveling off many of its hills. The park features added aesthetic characteristics such as wooden fence posts, added grass area, newly cemented floors, smoothed out gravel pathways, and a growing flower arch. The construction also took care of cosmetics issues with water, electrical, etc. One thing that does bother me about this park is its lack of bathrooms. One stall per gender at one location. The park is huge making it a troublesome task each time. In general this park offers a great potential for an array of activities. The added and newly renovated features has made this park better than ever. The Pine's is a great place to hosts events, exercise and have fun. read more

Nice playground in a neighborhood close to the great mall. My daughter had a lot of pent up energy after being subjected to some shopping at the great mall. We did a quick search on the way out and found this park. There are 2 playground areas, one for ages 2-5 and the other for 5-12. The play areas are a little far apart so if you have kids that span both age ranges it'd be tough to keep an eye on both areas but it's a nice, clean park. Worth a visit! read more

Today, I saw a lot of people playing tennis in the morning until around 12:15 pm. I would say that this park is good and the boy and Girl Scouts has a big meal for their lunch at this park. It is incredible. I'll find out if there is anything special. Today, I didn't see a lot of people play tennis. It is quiet and peaceful. This is one of my favorite moments. I'll still come here next wek This week today, I came to the tennis courts and it was sort of wet. There were some people playing there and it was great. I past by those party areas out there in this park. Boy Scout or Girl Scout meet there every week. I'm going to say that this court is still. Last week, I saw most people play in the tennis court. I waIted for some minutes and it was okay. I just felt good that the people enjoyed tennis. Boy and Girl Scouts are in this park and a nice day to go here. read more

When I was a kid, I had some of my greatest imaginary friends and adventures at this park. Having visited for as long as I can remember, this park has definitely gone through some changes. In the past two years or so, this park now has built in benches, and overhangs for shade! I've always been on the shorter side, so the improvement in swing strength and length for taller folks didn't affect me much- but it does help since everyone enjoys swings- so the recent weight support means mom and dad can swing with you too. :) The previous sand has been replaced with bark if you recall the former state of the 'larger park'. To me, it feels like a much cleaner alternative to the sand, since there was always water bottles, cigarette buds, and even dog stool! Yuck! :( But with the bark being padded in, it's hard to dig entirely since it fits like a puzzle almost. However, try to not impress your friends with massive jumps- that's the downside to the sand being traded out! Pinewood Park has three different attraction parks, the second being near the 'largest' and for children 10 and under- even toddlers! There is also another tinier park that's best suited for toddlers and babies around the left corner from the immediate entrance to ensure little ones aren't tackled or trampled on when rough play or packed summer days come along. There's more than enough grass for soccer games, football, or even a little picnic. The layout of the park itself is impressive having enough 'road room' on site for bike rides and strollers, so there is no tight spaces to walk or move. The cement is also even enough for limited injuries. :) The tennis court is usually full from early morning to the hot hours of late afternoon, so if you plan to play, try to get there early! It's near a basketball court, and there's plenty of space to shoot some hoops too. The main concern is the bathroom being low on supplies and hardly maintained- lack of soap or paper and the order it's kept in makes you feel more inclined to take the 15 minute walk home to 'go'! Take into account this is situational, but happens often enough. Some advice would be to bring some toilet paper from home and soap. Overall, this park has new life to it and is a great way to spend the day and enjoy the finer things in life. The grass is always green, and soft enough to lay in, and with the summers reaching California, the sky will be much bluer. read more

This is the perfect park for a 2-5 year old. There are actually 2 parks, 1 for 2-5 and one for 5-8 but my three year old played happily at both. We went on a weekday at 11:00am and had both parks completely to ourselves. The parks were clean and in great shape and there is fun park equipment that you don't see at most parks. I got to this park cuz it's very continent. It's our neighborhood park. They have actually three different parks here. One for 5+ and then for toddlers and then if you go around the corner there's a smaller one that's newer for the toddler age range. They also have tennis courts and basketball courts with lighting, i believe the lights turn off at 10? I'm not 100% sure. This park also has nice picnic benches with covers over them along with bbq pits. Pinewood also has a huge grass area where you can bring your dogs, a lot of people walk, jog and run around the grass area. The park also has bathrooms to use, never used them yet, don't need cuz the close distance from our house. This park is also clean no trash that i see around. A lot of trees if you throw a party here as well. My son enjoys coming and playing at this park, and so does my dog! Parking, there's no actual parking lot that i know of, i know that it's by a school, but i only see residential and street parking...which i don't really see an issue. read more

My husband and I just moved to the area with our 17 month old daughter less than 1 year ago. We usually walk her to this park in hopes that she can run around and possibly meet a friendly playmate. The reason that I am writing this review is because the people that go to this park are extremely rude. The park itself is clean and the equipment is great for kids! Just know that there is always a group of mom's who are usually click-ish and glare at you for no reason. My husband and I always try to say Hi or smile to families but nothing in return. Maybe they don't know English? Maybe that's just California but we have lived in pretty much every area in California and this is by far the worst! Last week my daughter ran up to a mom and her son swinging on the baby swings smiling and I was standing behind her a good distance...just watching her play. My daughter tripped on her feet because she was running happily, smiling at these people and she fell. She hit her head pretty hard and the mom rolled her eyes and looked away not once maybe saying aww its okay. I comforted my daughter but seriously? If a child fell 2 feet away from me I would at least help them or say its okay you'll be okay. The people here are rude. This has been more than one occasion. My husband takes my daughter there sometimes when I am not around and says the same thing. He gets stares and people are just rude. Maybe we were raised right and say Hi to people and smile....we are not going back to this park its pointless. Also, there is always a short fat dog lady walking around with 2 of her yappy dogs doing strange drug deals in our neighborhood as well at this park so beware of her. She does things with men behind bushes at this park as well as the small parks around the area. We've seen it and left. Overall, not even impressed with the environment here. read more

We played tennis here quite regularly before, the place is quite hidden within the neighborhood.. the park is good, and tennis courts are pretty good. Lights are somewhat dimmed but still acceptable. The court is somewhat not well maintained, but still fine to play on. read more

Big applause to the City of Milpitas for fixing up this park. It's spacious and spread out with three different playgrounds for kids. Nice semi shady picnic area too. It's very family & pet friendly. Most importantly it's clean and well kept. Only negative thing is that there's only one bathroom area with one staff for women & men. read more

We walk our dog here every evening around 5. There is always a group of dog owners close to the tennis courts. Great area for the dogs to run around. Typically poo bags are available, two available areas: to the left and to the right of the tennis courts. Grass is kept mowed, no weeds. read more

This park has a large lot area and a paved trail around it where a lot of people go for walking and/or jogging mostly in the morning and in the afternoon. It has 2 playgrounds (on each side) for young kids. This is also a good place if you like to play pickup basketball games after work (5pm - 10pm). There is only 1 basketball court next to the 4 well-lit tennis courts but this gets visited by a lot of good basketball players. The lights on the basketball court are a little bit dim but you get used to it. If you want a good competitive game, visit the place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights . The schedule gets more consistent during winter time...when it gets dark early. read more

Being a Pines resident, I have grown up with and actually grown to love this park more so now having a dog to walk. The entire park is well-kept and spacious, and there are 3 playground areas total - two in the main area and another smaller one in the backside of the park. Swings for the older kids (or grownups!) and for tiny tots, a giant play set, basketball courts, tennis courts, and tons of green for the nature lovers out there are some of the neat features that defines the Pines. If you want to walk your dog here, there's plenty of exploring area and doggie bags to clean up after your dog, so no excuses too! I do feel relatively safe coming here, but there were occasions where that wasn't the case. Some bothersome and sketchy folks come here too, so bring pepper spray just in case. Restrooms also need a lot of work, but again, I never expected much from them in that department. Other than that, a solid park. read more

The park is great, my daughter loves it. The only reason it's getting 1 star is because of the other parents that bring their children there. Almost every time we take our 16 month old daughter there, the other parents look at us as if we are different or don't belong there. I don't know what their problem is, but children should be allowed to play together. Parents shouldn't go pick their child up when another child comes to play with them. It's just plain rude. My daughter is curious and wants to play, that is all. She's just a little girl and for parents to be the way they are by looking at her like she don't belong and not allowing their kids to play with her, it just isn't right in any way, shape, or form. I'm not saying this is a race issue, cause it isn't, it's just a bunch of stuck up parents who the mink they are better than everyone else. We live in the Pines Neighborhood and have just as much right to be at that park as anyone else. read more
