We went to try a new dog park This one has very good reviews. This was a great neighborhood park. Plenty of parking. Plenty of porta pottys near the entrance. This park has it all. It's separated by both a big and small dog side. There's a giant pergola to give plenty of shade. Water is available,also plenty of poopie bags. There's also a few pieces of agility equipment for the dogs to play with. The grass was a little sparse, probably due to the heat. I assume it will grow back during the winter. There's also a nice park with a paved walkway. We walked around the whole park . Plenty of green grass and picnic tables. read more

We love this dog park! My small doggies like to run around but are a little defensive from big digs so they love that they can stare at them from the other side of the fence. Newbark Dog Park is a great dog park. There are two gated areas. One area for small dogs (as shown in photos) and another area for large dogs. On the small park side, there is natural grass, an A-frame and tunnel for the dogs, and plenty of shaded and non-shaded seating for owners. There are always poop bags available, and the owners who bring their dogs to this park are generally very good about picking up after them. On the large park side, there is a combination of natural grass and dirt, an agility seesaw, an A-frame, and a tunnel. Also, there is plenty of seating and poop bags available as well, so it's never a problem if someone forgets to bring bags for their dog. I've brought my dog here at least a handful of times, and the other dogs and their owners have all been welcoming and friendly. Overall, I think Newark dog park is a wonderful place to bring your dog for some socialization and play time. I don't know if the Newark parks and rec department ever closes the park a couple days out of the year to do a hose down and cleaning of the space, but if they don't, this would be my one suggestion in keeping the space well maintained. read more

This place was SO cute and very clean. My older dog (who is 13 and about 26lbs) went into the TIny Tails area all by herself until a few pups showed up. I didn't see any poop in the grass - it all seemed very well cared for and I appreciated the shady area. The space seemed big enough to me! So happy to find this place for my Nori to explore. There are 2 separate areas- one recommended for 30lbs and over and one for under 30lbs. Both areas have- - ample space for running around - seating for the parents to supervise - water fountains (human and dogs all in one) - poop bags - trash cans - obstacle course pieces for fun! - grass The big dog area is a bit more spacious with a big sand/dirt area and lots of grass for them to run around in! 4/1/2021 - the grass is blocked off for the big dog area but there is still big space in the dirt and obstacle course area for zoomies! Parking - there is a lot in front but also a short distance from the community center park and parking lots! So ample space if none by the dog park. It's so close to playgrounds for all the families as well so this is a great area to come and enjoy! I can't wait to meet the other corgis! read more

I'm so happy there's a dog park in Newark now. This place is super close to my boyfriend's house so we go here whenever we decide to pass by. It's in such a a convenient area, and right next to the neighborhood park as well! They separate the little and big dogs into two different sections. Our little chug (chihuahua/pug mix) can only handle the little side for now!! Its a decent amount of space for all the small doggies to run, and cute little photo ops for your furry loved ones! Theres also a lot of places to sit/stand for all the owners to watch their dogs, as well as poop stations with bags that you can use to pick up after your dog! I have no complaints about this place at all! Every time I take my dog here, he gets more and more accustomed to the scenery. The other dog park goers are always so friendly as well. It's a real growing community over here and I love how this aspect has been added to Newark's community! read more

I love to take my babies here early in the morning when it's a bit empty. It's a great spot for them to run around and meet new friends. I really like that this dog park has grass because I've been to many dog parks and a lot of them have wood chips or dirt which they hate so it's nice to have a dog park that has grass. The one down side is that there are some owners that do not pick up after their babies which is upsetting bc I have stepped in a fair share of waste but other than that it's a great place and fairly clean. read more

Great park overall But be aware of this person she owns a brindle pitbull super Aggressive. Her dog attacked my 4month pup and didn't even ask if he was okay just ran to her car when confronted you could tell she was not a stable person! She claimed to be a minor and that her dog don't like to play with dogs.. how in the world does that make sense so you a minor with a full grown pitbull that don't like dogs but you have it off leash at a dog park..??!! She tried to make every excuse in the book..Just be AWARE and keep your dogs safe. My puppy will be okay just a couple cuts. **COVID REVIEW** Huge dog park with real grass! It's divided by small & large dogs which was nice. We came around noon on Friday and there wasn't too many people, but it got a little busy an hour later. We met coco at this park who we later adopted and welcomed to our home! So glad that there's finally a new dog park closer than the Fremont Central Park Dog Park! Soft opening was supposed to be in March but due to COVID-19, Newbark actually opened late May/early June. I was so happy when they finally opened, the grass was so clean, everything was so nicely taken care of and the park didn't smell like pee/poo yet. They provide trash bags, but no water fountains (taped off) as of right now, for safety reasons. There are benches and tables for the humans to sit at, and separate sides for big/small dogs. Every time I've been there, all the humans I've seen have had masks on, so I'm glad people are taking the necessary precautions. The park seems busiest around 5 PM or later, when owners are done working for the day. Usually not too busy on weekdays before then. If you have a corgi, come join our east bay corgis ;) we meet every Friday around 5 PM! read more

This place is absolutely amazing! My dog and I don't live in the area and happened to just be passing by, but what a great situation it turned out to be! My dog had such a blast with the other dogs! She loves all the dog structures and fake grass and everyone was so nice! This park has an area for humans and also separate enclosures for small and large dogs. It is also an easy accessible location with lots of parking. I will definitely return and recommend if I'm ever in the area. read more

Parking is easy to find at this dog park. The small dog park is cute and has lots of little agility course items. The grass is a bit patchy. Some people clearly didn't pick up after their pets, so watch where you step! There is ample seating for people who prefer to watch their dog from afar. read more

Can get dusty and muddy. Quite a few aggressive dogs come here, and have seen a few dogs get bit and bloody out here, so beware - doesn't seem like the aggressive dogs' owners tell their dogs off for the chasing and biting either. Saw three dogs bleeding just today. read more

As we continue our journey of exploring the various dog parks that the East Bay has to offer, we decided to pop over to Newbark Dog Park. This is one of the newer parks on our list, and so far it has been a really great experience. We have a small, very submissive and mostly timid dog but who shows a real curiosity with wanting to play with other dogs. This was the most active and engaging we have seen her be with other dogs! For the first time in any dog park we have gone to, our lovely pup felt comfortable enough to wander away from us. All the other dogs were friendly, and if it became clear that two dogs were no longer enjoying each others company, all the owners were actively monitoring and participating in their dogs play to ensure healthy interactions. The park itself is split into two sections, one for small and one for big, my review reflects purely upon the small since we did not utilize the big side, though it looked lovely from our side of the fence. There is a staging area much like you see at other dog parks where you can bring your dog inside the gate, get them off their leash, and the enter the main section of the dog park for the side you have chosen. There are benches with tables and a covering over the top if you would like some shade. There is plenty of seating around the outter edge of the park itself, and it is a large enough size that doesn't make it overwhelming for small dogs, but also provides plenty of room for personal space for dogs and owners alike. There is agility equipment for the dogs to play on, a little ramp to climb up and down, a tunnel to go through, and a cute little podium style space for them to climb up on. The grass is as well maintained as you would expect for a dog park, but most importantly, the grass is clean, there is not poop left all over the grounds. This really is a wonderful park, and when you are done playing, you even have the option of taking your dog for a walk in the nearby park as well. read more

We have visited many dog parks between Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara to Newark and have come to appreciate the close knit community at NewBark. Owners are friendly but mindful of their dogs as they keep an eye on their 4-legged friends while monitoring their activities. The dogs and puppies who visit here actually love to PLAY with each other all the while learning doggie messaging and figuring out what is appropriate behavior (and, just as importantly, what is NOT). :) Newark usually has a cool breeze, so it's generally pleasant to be outside even on a warm day when your puppy/dog needs to burn off some energy! Pretty good dog park ! Super clean and now the grassy area is open which is great for the dogs! Only problem I have had there is a male owner with a pit bull puppy who seems like a first time owner because when my male labradoodle came up to his puppy, the puppy seemed scared so I tried grabbing my dog to give the puppy some space and my dog was in play mode and scared the puppy which made the puppy cry out loud and the owner got scared and KICKED MY DOG. my dog was in play mode. If you are bringing a puppy to the big dog side just know the bigger dogs will try and play with them but it doesn't mean you should ever kick a dog. I asked him nicely if he could go to the smaller dog side with his puppy if he's so afraid and he escalated and got upset. I'm only 21 years old female arguing with a late 30s male. It was not okay and my dog was on a leash and calm when I was speaking to the man. Please be careful you guys. Three rhings to be.aware of: 1) Alot of people don't neuter their dogs (small dog area) so there is alot of agressive play and humping/mating behavior which gets annoying 2) Alot of people don't 3) People tend to soxialize or be on their phones, and moat often ignore their dogs pooping.
