Taiwanese twinsies and Lulu the referee!

Great park to have doggie meet ups! Yesterday was the Taiwanese Dog Meet up for owners and doggies adopted from overseas due to overpopulation of street dogs are threats of them going to "meat factories" or getting abused. Adopt a Doggie in Castro Valley http://www.adoptadoggie.org coordinates these meet ups all over the Bay Area and i think this location is one of the best dog parks to host one...plenty of room for the pups to run around and reconnnect with their 4-legged peeps. Yesterday, was a beautiful day, plenty of dogs....1/2 from the adoption and other people from the neighborhood....so plenty of dog playing with agility courses, chasing other dogs, sniffing, peeing, marking and a walk path for the humans....my dog Silvie met her "doppleganger" and of all the dogs there, she gravitated to "Koa" the whole time....then found out he's a 'celebrity dog' (insert ohhh and ahhs here!), fostered by Jeff Clark (famous big-wave surfer, famous for surfing Mavericks!) and recently adopted by a nice lady named Meghan. Anyways, great doggie park for my pups to have fun and burn off some energy....convenient parking on the street, and plenty of shade seating for the humans!

ALL DOG OWNERS: LOOK OUT FOR THIS CAR/DOG OWNER!!!!

We usually have a good time at the park until today. This lady had an all white husky mix that she had a hard time with taking the leash off of because it was lunging towards our dog. When we were walking over so she could let her dog off the leash, she released her dog and it trampled and attacked our dog. She didn't even grab her dog off or move from her spot while our dog yelped multiple times as we ran and screamed for her dog to get off of our dog. She didn't even apologize or ask if our dog was okay when we got her own dog away from our dog. This park is still a great park (5 stars) but all dog owners should just be aware of this dog owner and car.

I love this dog park! We've got an energetic new puppy (~10 months), and it's hard to get her enough exercise. We go to the big dog area and she runs with the big dogs, has a blast, and comes home tired enough not to chew up my shoes. The large grassy area is nice. The concrete benches offer shade for owners to watch their "kids" in relative comfort. The agility courses are sweet, and I love to watch the dogs run through it. Plenty of water and bags and places to put the poo. There are gates on either side, but if you're coming through one without the transition area, be careful not to let out the escape artists! They just really did a nice job with this park. Thank you, Union City. Check out the aerial view! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/p530reSbBOQw8TlphQ2D5A?select=VgmxgNQS6Q-iW-FaMfa7ZQ

Not all parks are alike, so I heard. This is our community park and we it. Primarily because the regular owners watch their dogs, play with yours and watch your pup if you need to step out for a few minutes; usually to smoke or a work call. The obstacles are great and a nice area to play catch or walk around.

GUARANTEED GOOD TIME FOR POOCHIE! They ran and ran and ran! They rolled in the grass! They socialized with other dogs! They played follow the leader! They peed! They pooped! I didn't have to worry about losing them because it was all fenced up. There's a section for big dogs and a section for small dogs. This was a relief for me because I'm always fearful that a big dog will munched on my small dog (this has happened to me in the past, it's not a good experience)! Since I'm a responsible owner, I brought my own poopy bags. So, even though there is a dispenser with poopy bags, there will probably be days that it'll be empty. It happens, right?! Bring your own bag (byob)! If you have a small dog, you bet you'll find me here with mine on the weekends from now on. So, far, all the small dog owners has been pleasant with me and my dogs :) See ya soon! Woof!!

What I love: -Agility course available in both the small and large dog section! Not a lot of parks have these! -cute dog-centered decoratives around the park: fake fire hydrants for dogs to mark, paw prints in cement, etc. -large dog section is HUGE. -water fountain for pets - complementary poopy bags to pick up after dog -lots of available parking @ street -benches/seating area available (but no shade @ small section) What I disliked: -came on Sunday. No other small dogs around for puppy to socialize with :( -Small dog section was small compared to other dog parks. - the park is clean! (No unexpected poop) But there's a lot of dead patches where some grass area aren't growing anymore. Wish I could've rated higher, but puppy didn't have as much fun here compared to other parks.

Dog heaven! If you don't want your dog to be featured on Caesar Milan's Dog Whisperer then I suggest you let your dog socialize with as many other dogs as possible. The great thing about this dog park is that it's enclosed and fenced off.. no need to worry about your dog running out on you and into the streets. There's a small and large dog area which is great since my little man Zeus gets pretty frightened when big dogs try to play with him. He goes crazy! Another thing great about this park is the cool activities your dog can do here: -Agility activities like: tires, jumping poles, climbing ramps, and a large grass field for rolling and squirming. If you're dog is thirsty, no worries... Drigon Dog Park has a water fountain for you and your dog! Overall, a great park for dogs with plenty of activities and loads of fun!

Closed on Mondays! :( I took one of my dogs, Lily, there today to check it out. She's been here before with my wife, but today- the gates were locked. I was impressed with the park. The grass is well kept and the agility equipment looks in good shape. I also like the paw prints on the fence posts and the concrete fire hydrant. We will defiantly come back here so Lily can have her day. (and rating may change)

Drigon Dog Park is an okay location if you want an outdoor adventure with your pooch. We arrived around 1pm and there were quite a few dogs in both areas. I was a bit disappointed in the small dog area. It was definitely small compared to the large dog enclosure. I appreciate the agility course even though my dog wasn't interested. For some reason the water supply was not working. A few of us brought our own water bottles and ended up sharing with other dog parents in both enclosures.

This dog park is adorable. From Google maps, the walkway is in the shape of a bone! I have been taking my dog here frequently since I moved to the area over the summer. He loves the agility courses and large patch of grass to play frisbee in. I have noticed, however, that there is almost always that one d-bag dog with the indifferent d-bag owner who won't/doesn't know how to control his or her dog. Having my dog harassed on too many occasions by other dogs with irresponsible owners is enough to keep me away from this otherwise nice dog park.

Ask the Community - Drigon Dog Park

As of 06/18/2020, Alameda County is allowing dog parks to be open, as part of the revised health order. Is Drigin Dog Park open again? If so, any idea what are its hours? Thank you.

Where do u park? Didn't see a parking lot for the dog park?

There's plenty of street parking on the outside of the park.

Is it safe to go here after all the outbreaks?

Safe as it can be. Union city parks and rec took the warning serious. They shut down, scoped for any standing water, shut off the lower dog water fountains, and posted extra… Read more

Are they open now from the 12/30/17 close?

They're open. They have lepto warning signs posted. The lower water fountain has been shut off so bring your own bowl.

More than enough space to accommodate all the dogs and their owners. Several water stations around the park. My only gripe is that shade is sparse. If I came back during summer, I'd definitely want to come here at 8am or so. It was my first time taking our pup to a dog park since I've read many horror stories. I'm glad there were no unfortunate incidents today though. Owners seemed really attentive to what their dogs were doing, and only one out of the many dogs there seemed to be somewhat aggressive. It was nice seeing all the dogs sniffing and playing with each other. So much space to run and pee! The astroturf is definitely a plus. Just wish we were closer!

I'd say there was limited seating relative to the size of the space, but I did a lot of walking around rather than sitting anyway. There's also not a lot of shade so if it's a particularly sunny and hot day, it may not be a good place to go. I liked that this park was flat and provided a couple of water fountains, a small dog agility area, several trash cans and different entrance/exits. I would come back!

We had picked up some lunch and were looking for someplace that we could eat it. I searched for a Dog Park on my GPS and it brought me to this park. After I parked, we walked by the gate and saw that it was limited to small dogs 20lbs and under. There was no one using the park. We walked down the street where we had seen some picnic tables and had our lunch there. Our Shiba just sat there patiently waiting for us. She did score a few small pieces of oxtail and that may have helped keep her on point. While we ate, we kept an eye on the park. No one used it while we were eating. When we were done, I took a calculated risk and took her into the park. We chased around for a few minutes and then it was time to leave. One woman walked by with a small dog, and I asked her if she wanted to bring her dog into the park and we would leave. She basically laughed at me and said no. I found out later that the large dog park was across town, so we'll have to look for that one next time.
