I was kind of skeptical of SP's overall size because I've been fooled a time or two while watching posts on IG and let me confidently confirm any doubt that may linger- the playground is good in size. Come prepared with some shades, water, a hat, and sunblock because there is little to no shade. The heat is no joke but rest assured that there will be more than one ice cream vendor ready and willing to help you cool off. 5/5 stars. This playground is definitely one of our more favorable spots to hit up.

It's not really a big park but it's convenient for those who live really close to it. They have a building called Irvington Community Center, which I think is a place for children's activities. There is another building which is small. I think it was supposed to be a library, but is recently closed. Right next to it is the ballot drop box, where I usually go to drop my ballot envelope. Nothing much changed overall but it's good to reminisce the memories I have going here when I was a kid.

The second also seems like a newer more fancy build, looks like a forest with tons of climbing options. Lots of climbing and probably both playgrounds will be packed on weekends but there seem to be walking trails and picnic spots as well so plenty to do. We didn't get to explore everything so we'll definitely have to come back!

When we came across a video of this location on instagram we knew we had to plan a day to come. The weather says 80, but with the breeze and the slight shade from the trees it felt more like low 70s. We were lucky to get the only bench in front of the main play structure over looking the smaller ones. Others sat in lawn chairs and on blankets under the trees. There is no public restroom on site. There is a Ranch 99 about a block away, so if the lil one had to potty that is where we planned to venture. There is one food truck selling Mexican food - cash only - otherwise bring your own snacks. We were fortunate to snag parking directly in front of the park as space is limited. Around the park, there is a single block creating half a "circle" of parking availability. There is more parking around but it requires crossing the street. The residential street directly across from the park is no parking 9a-4p. There is a path for littles to ride their bikes, scooters or skate around safely, remaining visible. Our daughter kept hers in the car while she played between the multiple structures with different "friends." There is also a fitness area on site as well as a smaller tot area in a separate section of the park and a half basketball court. There was a birthday party being held on the premise. This is definitely a park we would return to if she requested. The lack of restroom does have me a bit torn, but knowing this allows us to plan a bit smarter. I would bring a friend along to accompany her as they could play on different structures while both remain visible. Our tall 6 year old played in both areas of the park - big and little kid areas - and enjoyed them both. They is quite a bit of exploring and lots to do for a free adventure day at the park.

L O C A T I O N Off of Dusterberry and Peralta, there's parking on the perimeter of the park that's for 2 hours. Now this can get full if the DMV is full as I parked there initially around 9am and by the time we left around 11am, it was kind of packed. P A R K There are a few playground structures, some for the little ones and some for the bigger kids. There's this huge structure that is kind of scary to be honest and I saw a tiny kid climb and hang and say he was Spiderman. So I'm sure he's super excited, but know that if their hands slip, they can easily fall many feet to the floor. I've seen these types of structures before, so I'm sure parents are very careful about having their kids play on them. There is a swing set where a parent and their baby can swing together which was cute! I've never seen such a structure before. There's also a walking path that goes around the park which is what we did. I think folks are a little sad there's no toilets here which I think yes is a downside, but I can also see why they don't want to put public toilets. I don't recall water fountains, but I'm sure they must have some. Otherwise, it looks like a very new park with lots of things for kids to do. My niece would have a field day here. There doesn't seem to be many huge trees (yet) for shade, but I think that's just because they just planted these trees. O V E R A L L A lovely park with playground structures that are relatively new. A great way to pass the time at the DMV if you have time to kill or just have a kiddo who wants to play.

The two story structure has two slides (a sidewinder and a tunnel) from the top story (only accessible by ladder) and a small double side from the lower level perfect for the smaller kiddos. There are plenty of chances for climbing on various ladders and the sphere just off to the side of the structure. My kiddos particularly liked the caged over hang from the top story and throwing a ball up the ladder. I gotta get a ball. They had the best time playing with a ball on the structure. Who woulda known. Close by is a standard swing only swing set and on the other side of the hilly grass center is a full basketball court. Hilly grass=no kick ball Across the residential street we found a little free library with lots and lots of books! It was a great add to our outing. No bathrooms. We found this when cruising neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights with our kids. We saw a huge thing with lights on it from a distance and just drove towards it until we found this massive tree covered in lights. Park also has some other christmas decorations but the tree on the corner is by far the coolest. It's so big even from far away I couldn't get a picture of the whole thing. Check it out while it's up! Cool local find for fremont people and makes for an awesome "slowly scrolling up" IG story or Tiktok.

It's very clean and well kept. During the holiday season, there are lights up nearby the pool, gazebo, and the very tall, iconic tree is adorned with lovely lights. I've called Kimber Park my home for more than half of my life, and Buena Vista Park is an irreplaceable facet of this community. It's small, quaint, and has everything you could want in a small neighborhood park. The playground has swings (my favorite!), with two big kid (adult?) and two baby swings. There's a playground structure, complete with slides, climbing bars, and a tic-tac-toe wall. Oh the days of Hot Lava Monster! There are two wooden benches to rest your weary legs, and a rough basketball court with one hoop. The expansive green field with huge trees decorating the edges of the park makes the park an ideal spot to play sports, bring your dog, or just lie on the grass and chill. I've seen people fly kites and throw frisbees, and around the perimeter there is the occasional biker and jogger--hopefully, that'll be me more often haha. I have yet to see the park filled with people to the point of noise pollution and people congestion, which contributes to the serenity of this spot. There is no parking lot, but most visitors are local community members, and there is parking along the borders of the park for those with vehicles. The park closes from 30 minutes past sunset until dawn. But, between you and me, some of the best moments in this park are at night when you and your friends can sit on the swings, stare up at the vast night sky, and marvel at the beauty of the peace, leisure, and life.
