    Algae bloom
    Marie S.

Niles has the components of a great park: body of water, piers, paved trail, grassy area, and a playground with a sandbox. Unfortunately, when we visited, the paved trail was covered in droppings, the water covered in algae, and there was an unpleasant odor at several points along the trail. We did appreciate that the playground was clean. While resources for mitigating algae may be limited, posting caution signs where the water is level with the pathway, as well as power washing the droppings, would make a tremendous difference.

The park looks small from the outside but it is spacious inside with lakes and sometimes overflow water from the rain. The park itself is huge as you can walk and run with your dog. It is beautiful but the water in the lake grows too much algae that it looks green instead blue water. It is located in a residential area so very convenient for those who stroll for a walk/run everyday. There are public restroom but I didn't used it. Parking are free to the public also. This park is great for Fall season as some of the trees are red and orange colors.

Late November / early December is a beautiful time of year to stroll around the park. There are several paved paths that make it easy to enjoy the scenery. Saw lots of people fishing too!

Niles Community Park is large, has a lots of greenery but few athletic facilities. this a rare park that has both parking and scenic waters, no beach though. there's a dog park, trails, concrete walkways, trees, a tennis court. grass, and the omnipresent children's playground.

a review from amom2kidsandapark.com Niles is such a cute community in Fremont that feels like a trip into a hallmark film Niles Community Park has a simple play area with a structure, swings, and a sandbox. The structure has two slides (a sidewinder and a short double), steps, a bridge, an arched ladder, an inclined rock wall, and two types of monkey bars. There are two swing sets; one with bucket swings and the other with standard swings. Near the play area are easy walking trails around the different ponds and the Alameda Creek. We only walked a little bit along the trail towards the train track bridge before turning back. The park also has a grassy area and tennis courts. We liked seeing all the different trees along the trails and this kids liked to spot those with "eyes" Parking lot and bathrooms Add a meal at @broncobillys_niles for those hungry tummies.

Beautiful park! The trails do get flooded but it's a great place to go. Free parking.

Beautiful bald cypress forest by the pond, that's what attracted me here. The entire loop of the park is short about .9 mile, part of the path was in the adjacent neighborhood, easy pace path. There is tennis court on one side of the parking , the other side has a few picnic tables and a playground. There are a few more picnic table through out the park. Decent amount of parking space. A nice little park to spend the afternoon if you are the the neighborhood.

This park is a nice place to take your dogs. Although there is a leash requirement many do not adhere or let the dogs run loose dragging the leash. I was concerned that a man with a golden retriever had his dog off leash and could not control him and worried that my dog would attack him as he ran right up on us. I picked this park as a meeting place for a Dog Family Reunion and it worked out great!

Went to see Bald Cypress forest by the pond at lunch time at the park with a few friends. It's so magical. I love the fresh Cypress smell. Come here the end of Nov. when the leaves starts turning orange. You won't be disappointed. 2019-12-03

I came here for the Niles community dog show. The parking lot was full. Plus the parking lot is not that big anyway. Thus, you have to look for parking in the street where residential houses are. The park itself was OK. There is nothing spectacular about it that I saw while I was at the dog show. Thus, I am giving this park three stars for being a OK. There is a lake you can walk around. Perhaps Id give it more stars if I walked around more. The grass was not super green but considering it is summer and California has a drought it is understandable.

One of the trails leads you here.

I love how much shade is at this park. The play structure is even under the shade. It's close to the creek and quarry lakes. Great spot for a picnic and it isn't busy.

The good and the bad: The Good: Off-leash dog park that's very spacious (long trails or short -whatever you want) with friendly dogs and people. Beautiful scenery with the creek and ponds surrounding. Ducks, fishing the whole 9 yards. The Bad: What in the hell is up with all of the trash, broken glass, graffiti, and obvious drug deals? I've had to report this several times. Each time they clean it up, but it keeps happening. After the 4th time reporting the same thing, I got over it. This place has the potential for 5 stars, but it needs to be better maintained and have security out there daily for monitoring of shady shananigans. Oh, and why r people living there in tents with a view of the water if I pay thousands a month to live in a house with a view of a fence? Time to enforce the law kids! Giddyap!

We came here after being disappointed by the area at the Vallejo Flour Mill Historic park off of Mission and Niles Canyon. This park is huge, has tons of parking, is very beautiful and has a lot of different features to offer. There are some nice concrete paths that go around the large and fully green with grass fields. There's also a nice playground for kids to play on, there is a dirt path to walk next to the creek, and just so much open space. I have attached some photos of the good and bad at the park, but I think overall it's more good than bad, and I wished we had discovered this park sooner. One star removed for the dirty bathrooms with toilets that are overflowing with paper and the homeless people that are living on a path or two at the park. Otherwise, there are so many nice things about this park. There are tons of beautiful trees and plants, the grass is very well maintained and paths that are clean and smooth to walk/jog, whatever you want to do. We had a lot of photo opportunities and really enjoyed the time we spent.

Nice park for kids playground and large grass area nearby. However park benches flooded even during warm spring day.

Love being here with my dog. Really nice and quiet, lots of space to walk around. Can be dense with foxtails and blue algae.

A hidden gem of a local park with several trails to walk, including along Alameda Creek. Just park in the lot a pick a trail to follow.

Which makes sense when you're in a concrete urban jungle day in and day out - we just weren't meant to live this way. I literally searched Yelp for a park in the area on my way home, and Lakeshore came up. Tucked away in a residential area, Lakeshore is a small-ish, serene, well-kept park with, as the name implies, a lake being the central point. I strolled on the path for a bit. I'm not sure how long the path is, but it seems like a good spot to get a decent walk in, and there were a few walkers and joggers. After stretching my legs for a bit, I grabbed some bench and watched the birds - geese (these guys are huge!), seagulls, ducks, and crows - hanging out and eyeballing me to determine if I had food. They were so cute. There is nothing that gets me feeling better fast than being around animals. The human animals that passed by were nice as well, with smiles and hellos, how refreshing. I spent some time just sitting and resetting. It was good. I need to do this more. Nice park, enjoyed a much-needed reprieve here, and would return.

When we came across a video of this location on instagram we knew we had to plan a day to come. The weather says 80, but with the breeze and the slight shade from the trees it felt more like low 70s. We were lucky to get the only bench in front of the main play structure over looking the smaller ones. Others sat in lawn chairs and on blankets under the trees. There is no public restroom on site. There is a Ranch 99 about a block away, so if the lil one had to potty that is where we planned to venture. There is one food truck selling Mexican food - cash only - otherwise bring your own snacks. We were fortunate to snag parking directly in front of the park as space is limited. Around the park, there is a single block creating half a "circle" of parking availability. There is more parking around but it requires crossing the street. The residential street directly across from the park is no parking 9a-4p. There is a path for littles to ride their bikes, scooters or skate around safely, remaining visible. Our daughter kept hers in the car while she played between the multiple structures with different "friends." There is also a fitness area on site as well as a smaller tot area in a separate section of the park and a half basketball court. There was a birthday party being held on the premise. This is definitely a park we would return to if she requested. The lack of restroom does have me a bit torn, but knowing this allows us to plan a bit smarter. I would bring a friend along to accompany her as they could play on different structures while both remain visible. Our tall 6 year old played in both areas of the park - big and little kid areas - and enjoyed them both. They is quite a bit of exploring and lots to do for a free adventure day at the park.

Actually it was also a way to keep an eye out for my car which was parked at that park as the parking for the DMV was completely full at 9am in the morning on a Friday. L O C A T I O N Off of Dusterberry and Peralta, there's parking on the perimeter of the park that's for 2 hours. Now this can get full if the DMV is full as I parked there initially around 9am and by the time we left around 11am, it was kind of packed. P A R K There are a few playground structures, some for the little ones and some for the bigger kids. There's this huge structure that is kind of scary to be honest and I saw a tiny kid climb and hang and say he was Spiderman. So I'm sure he's super excited, but know that if their hands slip, they can easily fall many feet to the floor. I've seen these types of structures before, so I'm sure parents are very careful about having their kids play on them. There is a swing set where a parent and their baby can swing together which was cute! I've never seen such a structure before. There's also a walking path that goes around the park which is what we did. I think folks are a little sad there's no toilets here which I think yes is a downside, but I can also see why they don't want to put public toilets. I don't recall water fountains, but I'm sure they must have some. Otherwise, it looks like a very new park with lots of things for kids to do. My niece would have a field day here. There doesn't seem to be many huge trees (yet) for shade, but I think that's just because they just planted these trees. O V E R A L L A lovely park with playground structures that are relatively new. A great way to pass the time at the DMV if you have time to kill or just have a kiddo who wants to play.
