discovered a charming little lake nearby my neighborhood. It's surrounded by a peaceful trail, perfect for a short walk, and teeming with geese and ducks. The serene beauty of the place is captivating, though you do need to watch out for the occasional bird droppings along the way! Checkout my photos

My daughter lives here and her backyard faces the lake. You can see all the various species of birds swimming. It's great especially when the geese land in the water. Last year I got to see baby goslings and ducks for the first time. It was truly awesome.

This is another good park to go to at Newark. Expect many geese to come by here since it's believed that they live here. You'll see many of them and maybe rare ones that you don't see often. I really like the lake here because it looks nice. There weren't many people here since I visit here around the morning on a weekday, but expect many people to come here after work and perhaps during the weekend. It can be easily compared to Lake Elizabeth since there are geese here but it's smaller, which is why I decided to walk two laps. Many good places to take pictures of! Also, just be careful around geese poop on the trails.

Very beautiful park at Foster city A peaceful park by the lagoon, perfect for a relaxing walk or a picnic. Plenty of green space and calm surroundings make it a great spot for families and nature lovers!

Lakeshore Park has no picnic tables, no play structures, and no public restrooms on site... also, no crowds on a weekday afternoon, just the way I like it. It's gorgeous out here, with the lake glistening in the sunshine, and ducks, geese, and other birds roaming freely, seemingly carefree and unafraid of passersby. Bird poop is pretty much everywhere, but it's hardly a nuisance when captivated by the breathtaking views of nature throughout the park. This place is pretty unique, as there's a whole community of homes in the middle of the lake, only accessible by a single road/bridge which creates a beautiful archway on the water. There are even several little islands at different corners of the lake, which look like mini jungles with a variety of plants and trees forming a decorative landscape. What's more, I saw a couple good-sized trees situated in the middle of the lake, appearing almost as if they're floating on the water. The concrete trail around the lake is 1.24 miles long, with quarter mile markers painted on the ground, perfect for runners like me. There are even a few exercise stations along the path. And plenty of benches throughout the park provide the convenience for visitors to just relax and enjoy the fresh air. I also saw some kayakers paddling away on the water. There's a mini boat dock/pier along the shoreline, near the parking lot which is on Chelsea Drive. And by the way, Lakeshore Park is located in a great neighborhood. I kind of envy the residents (especially those that live ON the lake). But at least I can come back here any time I want :)

Found this place on Yelp few months back and visited here couple of times with friends and family. It is a beautiful community park with man-made lake in the middle. Good for walking and jogging trail around the lake. Not too busy. Today morning, I was passing by and couldn't control myself for not stopping here as it was looking so beautiful and then decided to have a good walk around the lake. One time around the lake is a little more than a mile. I really enjoyed my morning walk going around the park and also enjoyed watching different types of bird. I saw that all the DUCKS and GEESE waddle around in the water with their BABIES and they were definitely looking super cute. Before visiting this place, I don't think I knew what HERON sounded like because I have never heard so many herons making noise at once. I also saw ducks and geese walking on the road, walking on the trail, walking around me, flying to the " MINI ISLAND " in the lake. Saw so many bird nest. This is the best place to observe birds and birds photography. After spending some time there and taking beautiful pictures I realized that all birds will look at you, expects food from you and might follow you too with the assumption that you have food. So if you even take their pictures they might be thinking that you are going to give them food. Downsides are : ============= 1. There is no bathroom. 2. You need to be careful while walking as there is lots of birds around and there is a lot of poop on the sidewalk because of that so be careful where you step.  Other than that, I love coming here and will continue coming here!

the park part is along Lake Blvd., just stetches of green grass. the lake can be accessed at various points at it's edges. there's often some parking available. the lake is surronded by housing. the geese, ducks, and ??? are wild.

This park is a hidden gem! It is nestled in a residential area and away from the madding crowd. There is a beautiful lake and loved seeing all the different types of birds around. We really enjoyed the afternoon walk going around the park and enjoyed the bird watching.

Sweet little neighborhood park, what's not to like! I discovered this park in my area one day while just driving around. I made a mental note to come back sometimes because I'm always looking for a new place to take a walk, and with everything going on in the world right now with the pandemic, it seemed like the perfect time. This lake is about a mile around and very scenic. There seems to be an island in the middle where there are houses, Lucky them! Overall the park is clean and not too crowded. There's a small parking lot and lots of places where you could also park on the street. Ducks and herons abound, There seem to be two small islands where the herons have stick their claim. I have never had so many herons making noise at once, in fact, I don't think I really knew what I heron it sounded like prior to this. There's no real place to take cover in the shed if it's kind of a hard days night to keep in mind when you decide what time to come. Overall solid experience, I will be back!

Hidden gem to walk Fido. Peaceful neighborhood spot with friendly visitors and neighbors. Near the Ardenwood preserve. A small man made lake surrounding some beautiful homes. Attracts lots of wildlife and some enthusiastic health nuts. Its a bit more than a mile all the way around and makes for a pleasant afternoon stroll.

I used to walk around this lake all the time either to get exercise or when I was having a rough day and needed to clear my head. It's very close to my house and I love house it is tucked away in between the lovely houses in Newark. If you don't live in Newark or Fremont and come down Lake shore then you wouldn't even know it was there. On the nice chilly mornings or those warm afternoons/evenings is when it's best to walk around the lake, it's just so peaceful and serene and there are usually quit a few people out there walking, running or riding their bikes. I believe the whole distance around the lake is 1 mile but don't quote me on that. I really do enjoy it here. Though it is very nice there are a few cons to this lake. One would be all the ducks and geese everywhere, some of them aren't very nice (I actually got hissed at and chased by one this morning), second there is a lot of poop all on the walkway and in the grass and third would be the lack of adequate parking. Other than that the lake is really worth checking out.

Felt pretty safe, but when the sun sets there's not many walkway/street lamps so keep that in mind. Lots of Canadian geese and we got to see their awkward teenage goslings. There's some ducks and we got to see what looked like cormorant and I think a small heron. We also got to see small song birds and some robins too. It's neat that they have bird houses on some of the trees too and we got to see some ground squirrels. I think the prehistoric themed playground is super nice too. I LOVE themed things so the little saber tooth structure from the distance was quite nice. Along the lake are some "work out equipment" like a pull up bar and parallel bars. Lots of bird turds, so be wary of where you walk, but other than that. A solid park.

There's a large free lot off Old Canyon Road with a not so great porta potty but pretty straightforward access to the trail. It's all paved and fairly wide but has sections that have seem better days with some rough sections, bumps and potholes. Still, it's a mostly pleasant ride as you're riding along the creek the entire way. The first section has some nice views of the winter green hills and even the Niles hillside sign in the distance. For some sections you'll be parallel to a busy road as well as some housing developments but once you get closer to Coyote Hills regional park, the scenery vastly improves. You actually intersect with the Bayview trail at Coyote Hills, so can take a detour around the park if you want more miles. However, I just followed the creek trail until it ends with some picnic benches at the bay. Overall, a fun trail that's mostly flat with a few short inclines each time you go under one of the roadside overpasses. I liked that you didn't have to wait at any busy intersections since the trail is continuous and easy to follow. I got to see some deer, herons, egrets, lots of geese and other shorebirds closer to the bay. The trail wasn't too crowded on a Saturday. Overall, I'm glad I checked it out and may come back again.
