Large dog side of the dog park with a walking path on the hill in the distance

My girls love this dog park, whether there are a lot of dogs around or it's during a quieter hour. There's a nice green grassy area for them to run and sniff and lay to observe their surroundings. Some of the not as great parts are some small muddy patches even in the hot summertime as well as some holes from digging dogs and dog waste left behind by irresponsible owners, but all in all it's a great space. I appreciate the waste bags which are usually stocked and the couple of dog water fountains as well as the separate large and small dog area. We enjoy sitting on one of the benches and watching our girls have the time of their lives.

Zoe soaking up the sun at her favorite park! There's a small parking lot but never had an issue with parking. Located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood.

Dougherty Hills Dog Park is one of my go to places to take Lola It's a grass field with open spaces. Parking lot is small but I've never had an issue finding a spot to park. There's a trail behind the dog park too which is nice to combine activities for Lola.

I pass by this park all the time when I go on my daily walks and can see it is very well maintained. The grass is green and the dogs look happy playing around. There are benches to sit on while watching the dogs, and there is even a large concrete tube in one of the areas. There is a small parking lot at the front, and there are two different areas. One for smaller dogs, and another for larger dogs. Definitely come here with your dog, mainly for my enjoyment to watch them play :D

Review mainly based on the small dog area. Park is in a residential area, looks small from the street but it's actually quite big! Limited parking in the parking lot but you can easily park on the street. It's nicely fenced and large and small dog sides are separated; both sides have a double gates for extra safety. Park looks hilly but it's actually not too bad. Small side was really clean. It has a water dispenser, poop bags, pretty trees, and benches. It was not very busy, just the right amount of people and dogs - everyone was very friendly! Rio enjoyed himself; he was so tired! He played with other dogs and he had a lot of space to run. Overall I am very happy and will definitely be a regular.

Watch out! You may trip over one of the many random holes.

I have been coming here since this dog park opened years ago. The City of Dublin has really let this park go. Many times the weeds are overgrown and the gopher holes so large that you and/or your dog can trip, fall, or suffer a major injury. I keep telling myself that we won't return but due to its proximity to my house, I take my chances so my dogs can run & burn some energy. It gets very muddy when it rains so don't expect your dog to come home clean.

I gave this park 5 stars because my dogs love it here. We've been to other dog parks in the area and for some reason my dogs feel most comfortable and happy here with the grass. We have not encountered any problems with either other dogs or their humans. I've been bringing my furbabies here for over a year and will continue to do so as long as my dogs love it here.

Not too crowded, friendly people and dogs. Mostly full sun but there are shade trees on one side and benches.

The park seems well maintained and there are a number of benches. They also have a nice grassy area as well as a cemented section so your dog has options depending on their preferences or the weather. There is shade and sun and the area and other patrons were welcoming and quiet. Our dog had a lovely time sniffing about and we enjoyed gazing at the beautiful spring blossoms. We had picked up some lunch and were looking for someplace that we could eat it. I searched for a Dog Park on my GPS and it brought me to this park. After I parked, we walked by the gate and saw that it was limited to small dogs 20lbs and under. There was no one using the park. We walked down the street where we had seen some picnic tables and had our lunch there. Our Shiba just sat there patiently waiting for us. She did score a few small pieces of oxtail and that may have helped keep her on point. While we ate, we kept an eye on the park. No one used it while we were eating. When we were done, I took a calculated risk and took her into the park. We chased around for a few minutes and then it was time to leave. One woman walked by with a small dog, and I asked her if she wanted to bring her dog into the park and we would leave. She basically laughed at me and said no. I found out later that the large dog park was across town, so we'll have to look for that one next time.

Beautiful hike in the Spring, and a bit hot and dusty in the Summer…read more Be aware, there are many ticks here in the Spring. I went hiking with my friends here in April, and both their dogs had tons of ticks crawling around in their fur. If you are hiking without dogs, tuck your pants or leggings into your socks and avoid the taller grass if you can. You can also spray tick repellent on your shoes and socks before starting. That usually does the trick. Very fun and laidback hike otherwise. We've been visiting this trail for years now, and always have a nice time. Great views, and rolling hills. Can't ask for much else, locally.

"Hot Dusty Trails, but Lots of Free Maps"…read more I love the East Bay Regional Park system, but this is probably my least favorite park. The main trails are just dirt tracks wide open to the elements. You can imagine how it is on a summer day out here. If you enjoy dusty, desert-like environments with no water, and dying of thirst, you'll love this park. I try to come here once a year. Honestly, that's enough. Besides the main staging area, there are a few tricky entrances to the park. In the California Highlands condo complex, there are a few trails that eventually lead into this park. Keep in mind that those entrances are not open to bikes. I found out the hard way. There is an interesting side trail called Donlon Point. I believe it's the highest point in the park. There's a good view up there, plus lots of cow material. There is drinking water and a modern restroom at the staging area. Additionally, there are plenty of free maps at the gate. That's one great thing about the East Bay Park system. They are not stingy about giving out free maps. The day that I visited, the parking lot was nearly empty. You will not have trouble finding a parking spot. On the other hand, there's probably a good reason for that. As a local alternative, I recommend Las Trampas. The trails there are more interesting. Check out the Camille trailhead in Alamo.

There's a larger park - with a zip line, a little obstacle play structure + slide, swings, and many more activities.
