The layout of the park is very compact and it has many nice features that I like: 1. Large, paved biking/walking path that runs around the park. 2. Basketball and Tennis courts. 3. Large open field. 4. Covered area for picnics/BBQ and plenty of benches around. 5. Clean area with plenty of trash and recycle bins. 6. Chessboard tables! Just need an opponent and pieces!

Downside, no formal parking lot, which is a little difficult for residents as only street parking is available.

Overall, it's a very peaceful, pleasant park with a good size open field to play football or frisbee. Street Parking is pretty easy. I don't take my dogs to run off leash here...... it's usually pretty busy. I just go for pickleball and love the community there.

Parking was easy to find on a Friday afternoon, near the playground side of the park. Two playgrounds, for ages 2-5 and 5-12, consisted of swings and climbing structures, the play area small and simple just like the park itself. A well maintained wide open grassy meadow provided plenty of space for sports or picnicking, though not shaded as trees were mainly at the borders of the park. There were however a few picnic tables available under a pergola, so a bit of shade there. The place isn't huge, but it was large enough to get a good workout, running laps along the concrete trail lining the park. A few benches for visitors to sit and relax while on the path as well. Unfortunately, a swarm of gnats and mosquitos in the air too, on this warm and pleasant day with spring season approaching. No restrooms nor access to the clubhouse and lounge area attached to the park, except for Sorrento owners/residents. But the Piazza Tasso community facility and surrounding townhomes featured eye-catching italian style architecture, adding some charm to the place. My favorite part, I found a hare and tortoise sundial sculpture on site, which was simply adorable.

Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. It's clean, easy, and works well for group gatherings. Only downside is the restrooms were available but not very clean, and parking can get a bit tight. Overall, a reliable spot for things like birthday parties without feeling chaotic.
