Okay, so I think this may be my favorite park in Pleasanton. I love discovering new parks so I did a quick Yelp search and found this green oasis. This park is not only beautiful, it's so much fun. There's so much space and walking paths. There's a smaller playground for toddlers, and and larger one for older kids. There's a swing set. And the coolest slide ever. My kids spent at least 20 minutes playing on the slide. There's plenty of shaded areas because the park is surrounded by beautiful tall trees. I seriously cannot wait to go back. read more

AKA "The Big Slide Park". I've taken my three-year-old daughter here a bunch of times. Ive taken my older nephews as well. Everyone loves the big slide but there are multiple play structures as well in addition to open grass lawns. Lots of kind neighbors frequent this park and its just up the road from a commercial plaza in case you need anything. Great spot. A Pleasanton classic. read more

I love taking my grandchildren to this Pleasanton park when we are visiting family or coming from Sacramento to the Alameda Co Fair or the Scottish Games. They tend to get up early, so it's our morning routine before the splendid Alameda fairgrounds open. Remember to bring a piece of cardboard for the 50 ft slide. Tip: the right slide is the faster one as the left side tends to dip outwards towards the bottom. The playground isn't too toddler accessible so that's why I gave this 3 stars - the grounds are beautiful and spacious. read more

Mission Hills Park is a vast parcel of grassy fields, with 2 sections where a a children's playground is present. there's also a metal slide and a basketball court. just street parking surrounding the park..no public parking nice. the park is very well maintained. read more

One of the nicest parks in Pleasanton - better known to locals as the "park with the giant metal slide". There are a few paved trails, a basketball court, a couple of play areas, a few jungle gyms, and many seating areas. The terrain is hilly and there are a couple of ditches traversed by small foot bridges. There is plenty of parking along Junipero Street and some of the other neighborhood streets which border the park. No bathrooms that I could see. We will certainly be back. read more

Really an expansive, super quiet park for the whole family. There's a long slide that can be done even faster is you use the cardboard on the ground. Other than that, they playgrounds are just average. read more

Great park for kids. Their is two different playground on each end of the park. The purple and orange one is geared for more littles but my 5 yr old still enjoys it. The big slide and swings in the middle but closer to the newer playground is so fun. The slide can be fast is you have soft clothes or sit on cardboard. The only downside is that there are NO bathrooms here. Lots of shade, grass, parking and trail around the park. read more

Great place for children, I went during the week and it was very peaceful, went to visit with my daughter to spending quality time. The slide was very fun. The park is very green and has two playgrounds with a basketball section along with a few working out stations. I just love a park with a hillside slide There are two playgrounds, half basketball court, a creek, bridges, exercise equipment, grassy open space, so much sidewalk, and picnic areas with bbqs (plus one site with a covering). The metal 50-foot double hillside slide was our big draw to this park. There are a couple of bumps on the way down to help slow the slider, but even so, it makes for a fun rush! Getting to the top of the slide is easy using the stairs to the left, the inclined rock wall to the right, or the steps behind. Of course, there's always the option of running up the hill Near the slides is a swing set with standard and bucket swings. Just beyond that is the green playground. The green playground is a bit taller than normal with lots of climbing opportunities. There is one straight slide, steps, various ladders, a unique bridge, a rock wall, a rope wall with step rings, a large sphere for hopping from one platform to the next, activities and a little room with a serving window for some pretend restaurant play (yummm wood chip nachos are my favorite ). If the structure wasn't enough for your kids, the play area also has climbing boulders with parallel ropes, stepping stones, a big mountain lion statue and a mallet instrument The second playground is a bit more traditional. It has three slides (sidewinder, double, and straight), a bridge, steps, ladders, a tunnel, activities and pirate theme face cut outs for photo ops! Connecting the two playgrounds are lots of sidewalks with exercise equipment every so often (some I've never seen before like the giant pikler triangle and the highest monkey bars), bridges, big shade trees and so much beautiful grass! I loved this park... even if it was 100 degrees out No bathrooms. Street parking. read more

This park is absolute gorgeous! Our little one loved the giant metal slide and playground. There are so many things to love about this park - the wide open space, the big hillside slide, multiple playgrounds and plenty of shade from all the trees. The only downside is there is no bathroom. This park is a throwback. Large metal slide. Hills. More grass than the opening scene in the Sound of Music (ok, that's an exaggeration). You just don't find parks made like this anymore. Nowadays, they'd pack in 40 homes in this amount of space and have a small playground and call that a "park". The slide is THE best feature. Everyone in Ptown knows about the "park with the long metal slide". The city is taking it down for safety but I'm soooo glad they are putting a new one in and making some really cool upgrades/enhancements. My only gripe - no bathrooms. A couple times my son had to go number 2 and let's just say we had to make a quick run to a friend's house who lives about a 5-minute-hold-your-poo-and-jog away. read more

This is one of my favorite parks to take my toddler. We pack snacks and lunch for picnics and head over. The park is located in a nice residential area away from busy streets and hustle and bustle. It is surrounded by large mature trees and there's lots of shade. The toddler play structure is a perfect size for limitless, so they don't become overwhelmed. I wish it was set more inland than right in the corner of the main thoroughfare of the neighborhood. Across the large field, there are two large aluminum slides for all ages that are built in the hills! To get up there you can either use the rock climbing area or stairs. You may see cardboard lying around, that's for those adventurous folks who want to go faster down the slides. The bigger kid structure isn't bad, but isn't that great either. The swing set is completely separate the toddler area, so you have to walk across the field to use them. I love a creek is in the middle of the park, my LOs love exploring and getting muddy during wet season. There are no bathrooms so become prepared. Overall with tony logistical issues (swings, structure placement) this is my go-to park! read more

Amazing park with lots of space, trees, and multiple play structures. We explored the bridges, the huge slide under beautiful Pine trees, and went to town on the modern-looking playground with slack-line, cougar statue and climbing rocks. The little purple playground at the other end of the park was quaint and fun as well, with climbing, slides, and the like. Awesome scenic views of the Pleasanton hills with trails weaving through the park. Must do! read more

We had brunch in downtown Pleasanton and went to this neighborhood park to hang out and play outdoor games with the family for Father's Day. It's is a beautiful park with a great grassy field, fun play structures for the kids and an awesome long slide. We really enjoyed this park. The only thing is there are no restrooms. read more

It was cold and very wet. We didn't stay. But it's a beautiful park with lots of space. There's a little play structure for smaller kids on one side of the park, and a bigger structure on the other side for older kids. We will definitely go back when it is warmer and drier. read more

Great park! No bathrooms!!! Very clean, lots of shade and open spaces for kite flying or frizbe. Lots of benches in the shade to watch your children play. The slide is the major attraction here. Bring cardboard for the slides and wear long sleeves to protect against slide burns. After running up the stairs or climbing up the rockwall to get to the top of the slides your child will fall asleep before you leave your parking space. They really need to do something about the bathroom situation. I talked to 5 different parents after spending the day there and none were from Pleasanton. Bathrooms or a porta potty is needed. With that said know that the kids are not playing in the bushes! Lol The cement walk path is great for children not adults to roller skate, and bike. They have to share but it wasn't that crowded so it seemed to work out. Only one dog owner let their huge dog off the leash and was quickly told by parents to leash his dog to which he complied. Weird! Who does that? In any case make a bathroom run before you arrive and it will be a great day at the park for the kiddos. read more

2 Playgrounds & a giant slide that looks intimidating but is a whole lotta fun! Nice & clean! You have to walk around the park to find that there is another play area on the opposite side. A lot of folks bring out their dogs to run around and all the animals are pretty tame. Worth the visit for the fun slide! read more

This park is a wonderful example of the perfect neighborhood park. With two play structures at opposite ends, your child is sure to find something they want to play on. There are swings for big kids and little ones to enjoy and a huge metal slide. To really enjoy it though you need to bring cardboard to slide on. The play and picnic areas are nicely shaded while the grassy area in the middle is very sunny. The grassy area is well graded for easy setting up of games. Our go to place for the kids. It is a good size community park. I personally never seen it too crowded and there is sufficient shading at the park periphery at get a break from the sun. Large open grassy space for all sort of activities. There are also two separate play structure areas and a swing set. The highlight of the park is the long slide. This is a great little park hidden behind a view for Llamas. I bring the kids I baby sit here all the time. There is a super huge slide that is fun to go down again and again. Bring cardboard and fly into the sand pit. And I mean FLY. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because it doesn't have a bathroom. So go, before you go. read more

Best park in Pleasanton, maybe even the tri-valley! The giant slide is obviously the highlight. My kids spent a good 45 minutes riding it. The only downside to this place is the lack of restrooms. Bring a potty seat if you have toddlers! read more

This is a big and clean park! Wish we had a park like this in my area. It has two playgrounds, a basketball court, and dogs are allowed but on leashes (I've seen a few off leashed and they were fine). I always come here to jog when working around in the area. They city also keeps this place looking good by having people cut the grass like every Wednesday or every other Wednesday. read more

Awesome park! We live close by, so we're constantly walking to it. :) Great play structures for kids, swings (regular and baby swings)....and the best part - a HUGE slide. So fun! It's a great park to walk around, too. Plenty of grass and a small picnic table area. Only drawback is that there isn't a bathroom. Great park though! read more

Cardboard is for whimps. If you want to go fast and fly bring wax paper i think im the only kid who did this years ago.. used to be mor fun with the second dip at the bottom with wax paper you would fly from the second dip and land in sand with out touching the runway or slow verry end of slide. after 4 to 5 times with wax paper every one goes fast with or without wax paper.....happy flying..... read more

Parents be warned -- kids leave cardboard near the slide. My 10-year-old used one of these pieces of cardboard to go down the slide and flipped off onto the concrete stairs that line the slide. She was badly injured and needed to be treated at the ER. She weighs only 66 pounds and was too light to control herself on the cardboard. This slide can be VERY dangerous. Please keep a close watch on your child around the slide, and do not let them go down on cardboard. Beautiful park, but in my opinion the slide is not safe. read more
