Central Park in San Ramon looks pretty standard at first, but ended up being better than expected. I came for a friends' kid's birthday party and even on a weekend it felt open and not too crowded. The grass was green and well kept, and there was plenty of space for kids to run around. The covered picnic areas with a roof was so nice and perfect for rainy days or a hot sunny weather, and it offered many things to keep kids entertained such as a good-sized playground. It's clean, easy, and works well for group gatherings. Only downside is the restrooms were available but not very clean, and parking can get a bit tight. This is the best park in San Ramon. My son loves the water part and playground. We are here almost everyday during Summer Time. There is a lot of shade under the trees so your not burning hot in the sun when it's over 90 degrees in the summer time. I've rented the picnic tables under the shade with the bbq pit near the playground when we have our Family get togethers. It's best to rent the picnic tables during the summer time so that you have that spot reserved for you and your guests. If someone tries to take your spot you just show them your permit and reservation for that spot and they have to leave. It was funny watching kids making the big slide into a water slide they were all lined up passing the bucket of waters to pour down the slide. We always have playdates here the kids love it. I like it better than Rancho because there is more shade here read more

Really sizeable, spacious park that has lots of fields to host sporting events. There's a small amphitheater, skate park, events center, and until it is the location of local government offices. I'm not just reviewing this place on a recent, pleasant dog walk (which is a great place to do and they have doggie fountains here as well). No... my roots go way deeper here. Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. We came here for a Mehregan Festival this year and were amazed by this park. Easy to find, great parking, wonderful layout, my kid was obsessed with the playground and the facilities were clean. We will be back to try out the splash pad in the summer. read more

I came to this park for a soccer tournament. The fields were nice. They have a lot of parking. The playground looked big and covered seating. They had some vendors out selling snow cones and Menchie's yogurt. I'm not sure if that's an all the time thing or because there was a tournament going on. It's a nice park. read more

San Ramon Central Park is a cute little park down the way from Annabel Lake and the Bishop Ranch mall. While it attempts to be picturesque and quaint, it's a little too large and spread out to achieve it, but does have adorable touches like a story board you can read as you walk the path, fun scarecrows for fall, and other decorations for the season. There was a bit of construction going on when we visited, but generally it's nice to have a secondary walking ground when we get a bit tired of the lake. read more

This was such a beautiful park! My husband and I took our pup to meet some friends. They have littles and they had an absolute blast. Their play area is so cool. They had specific areas for different ages. They had a kids rock climbing wall and lots of fun activities in the play set. read more

It really is a stunning offering for San Ramon, and it gets little fanfare. It's a very grassy park with beautiful trees all around. Located along the Iron horse trail, it also has its own paths to walk. It's kept immaculate, very well-maintained. Lot's of picnic benches, and several BBQ's for family and friends. It has tennis courts, a playground, community center, skate park, seasonal splash pad, and BB courts. Took the family out for some fun kite flying and fresh air. Being trapped indoors for so long deserves some outdoor time. The kids had a great time running around in the wide open lush fields. They were sad they couldn't go on the great play equipment but they were understanding. The picnic tables were open and we did take lunch along to eat along with a tablecloth to use (covid has changed every outing ). The views of the mountains from the park are wonderful. City center is nearby along with other local eateries if you want to grab a bite after. There is a skate park, basketball hoops, a splash pad, restrooms, and great play equipment when everything is fully open. Along with picnic grills and pavilions. read more

Gayle and I shared some pleasant walks through San Ramon Central Park during our recent stay at the nearby Residence Inn. It's a huge green space with lots of open territory and happy people watching. Unless you have a bicycle, I would recommend this option vs. the nearby and excellent Iron Horse Trail. read more

Really great park for families, events- but spacious enough you could still enjoy just a quiet couples picnic too. Kids love the playground & water features, our adults like the tennis courts & well maintenances grass areas for throwing a foot ball around. San Ramon Central Park is a great park for sports but has 1 huge flaw. We were here on a Saturday morning to watch my nephew's baseball game. Unfortunately there were also soccer and basketball games playing at the same time. There was no parking. We circled 3 different parking lots before eventually parking in the neighborhood across the street. Spent almost 20 minutes wasting time and gas looking for parking. Why build an awesome park but not build enough infrastructure, ie. parking to support it? Ugh. read more

Park looks beautiful but I would only come here for a picnic and that's it. First off parts of the playground were unsafe and I guess the city decided duct tape is the way to fix it. The splash pad was closed for repairs. Also both stalls in the women's bathroom wouldn't flush so that bathroom was pretty disgusting. Don't think we'll be coming back here read more

Its a beautiful, lush green, extremely clean and well maintained park and with a small water park for the kids and a nice children's playground. Very relaxing and comforting. Had a picnic with a group of about 10 people at one of the picnic tables with a grill (across the lot from the skate park) and it was a wonderful setting for our needs. The picnic tables and grill area along with the rest of the park were so clean and inviting! There is a large trash can next to each picnic table spot which is really convenient. I really appreciate that the park is so well-maintained because it allows for such a great experience for whatever you're there to do. My grandson had a soccer tournament there last week. The whole area was Nucor and clean. Plenty of trees for shade. The only thing, and I know it's not the City's responsibility--I forgot the poop bags for our pup, and there was none in so many of the places. Luckily, I had plenty of paper to pick up after my pup. Had just finished lunch with friends and we decided to take our kids to the park. We found this gem on Yelp and decided to drive over. There was plenty of parking in the lot when we arrived. We walked through the grassy area past the flags over to the playground. The park is very beautiful. We saw a storybook pathway where you can take your toddlers along the walkway and read a book. There's a huge playground where kids of all ages were running around playing tag and having fun. The playground has a number of slides, a rock climbing wall, another climbing contraption, seesaw and swings nearby. I also saw a water pad, the ground was wet around it but I never saw it working while I was there. There were a lot of protective mama bears swarming around their kids. M kids had a great time and even asked to go back. Next time we're in town we'll head back over. read more

Central Park is a decent park next to San Ramon's city center...oh wait, San Ramon doesn't have a city center. Well, it's a park in a central location next to a business park. The park is home to many of SR's major events and activities, few of which I attend. The park itself is okay, nothing spectacular. In addition to the park itself, is the community center. I've been to a few school auctions and most recently a Bat Mitzvah there. The community center is good space for an event, but I always find it strange that when you enter, it seems like walking into an after-school rec hall with a check-in counter staffed by employees in gym-wear, moping around and waiting for the event to end so they can head home from their $10/hour job. Keep in mind, the place was probably built in the 80's so it's a bit dated and it's nothing like the new community center over in Dublin. Nevertheless, it's clean and serviceable. Overall, 3 stars for Central Park and all of its amenities. read more

I highly recommend this park for kids! There are plenty of tables and lots of grassy areas with nice big shade trees. The water feature is the main reason I would come here. My kids love it and we would literally spend all day here. The play structure is ok. A little daunting for me with my little ones. But my older girl loved it. The bathrooms are clean and the fact that there is a bathroom is awesome. It also never seems to be too crowded even when there are a bunch of kids here. The parking lot is huge. You can also take a nice walk around the whole park. I have been taking all my kids here from years and it never gets old for them. read more

Love the water park feature for the little ones. The playground area is great as well. Looks like San Ramon really takes pride in keeping their parks clean and keeping the playgrounds up to date. I live in Concord and some parks are not clean and playgrounds are so dated, just not kept up. Picnic areas are nice and can accommodate a nice event. So sad I have to drive out of my community for my toddler granddaughter to enjoy the outdoors. Plus we have homeless issues here!!! read more

The only reason I'm taking two stars away is because the park can be a lot cleaner and the water area for the kids a lot more cleaner. Kids are going to be kids especially in water so if you have a toddler you have to either be geared up and ready to be on their heels every step of the way to avoid accidents with older kids or take them to a park specifically for their age group. The water smelled of chlorine from two miles away. The kids brought food in the water so Cheeto puffs, goldfish, and other things were swimming in the little water. The park is decent and everything is accessible for smaller kids. I have a 16 month old and she had no problem maneuvering through the play structure. Nice little park. read more

This park is big enough, and has enough features, to make proud a city four times the size of San Ramon. Here's what is here: Community center. Picnic areas. Ampitheater, free concerts in the summer. HUGE play structure, including places to get drenched. Basketball and tennis courts. It looks new, but only because the trees haven't grown big yet. And its big feature: lots of sports fields. Baseball, soccer, football, frisbee tag, it'll work here. I've never been here for a game, but I imagine that this is the official home for the San Ramon recreational sports leagues. The junior high school is at the park's northern border, they probably use the northernmost fields a lot. What do I do? If I'm walking from my job to the Market Place on Bollinger Canyon Road, I walk on the edge of this park instead of the Iron Horse Trail; more scenic. I've brought my daughter here, and she gets a kick out of the playground. If the water's running, bring a change of clothes; my girl always gets wet here, and does Dad mind? Nope. Two notes, though: (1) It's a great meetup place. BUT be clear about where you're meeting up. This is a big park, and it's likely that some of your party will be in another part of Central Park and you'd never know it. (2) Parking is good, although it gets full around the playground. But Independence Day is THE big event in San Ramon, the whole town and others come to this park to hang out and watch the fireworks, and there's not enough parking in the area (I found this out the hard way a few years ago). A huge jungle gym with multiple slides, a 'creek' engineered to connect to the splash pad and ample green pastures to run in. Kid AND adult heaven (lots of space to relax while the kids run rampant).
