One of my favorite parks to come with my dog! The Los Gatos Creek Trail cuts right into the park and offers a really nice 2-3 mile loop route that's great to visit year-round. The first half of the loop is nicely shaded, but the second half is in full sun-- so definitely come prepared with a hat + sunscreen on those hotter days. Park is also within walking distance of downtown Campbell, so we usually grab a coffee from Manresa afterwards ;)

Campbell Park is located in downtown Campbell a stones throw away from all the shops and restaurants including one of my go-to cookie shop, Nox Cookies. My toddler niece and I love to spend the afternoon at the playground, and finish our day with some cookies and chocolate milk at Nox. It's really a highlight for her and a treat for me to see how joyful the simple things in life can brighten two people's lives. Campbell park is great for toddlers and basketball players and connected to the trail that leads to Los Gatos so it's a great opportunity to get some serious cardio run in or enjoy a leisurely stroll with the family. The downside is parking can be a hassle when it's busy. The lot is limited as well as the side streets. And the playground capacity is higher so there is more wait time for the swings, and slides especially when a child is walking/crawling up a slide, total gridlock. Lol

Cleanliness 9/10 Very clean however some dog owners leave their dog dung without cleaning. The park does provide baggies tho. Amenities 9/10 Nice basketball courts and playground. Trail is cool with calisthenic workouts. Pests 7.5/10 Generally not a problem but trails can have tons of flies sometimes in certain areas. Overall recommend using this park especially if you're local.

PARKING sucks. The lot is small and it's a big and popular park. What were the city planners thinking? Limited street parking. PARK itself is big! Playground that's blocked off for now. Bathrooms are open and near the parking lot. Trails and areas near the creek down below where people can go in and cool off. Basketball courts. Biking running trails. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons 3pm and later there's a group that plays salsa and bachata music. Not the best as far as COVID-19 infection control but the police haven't stopped them so far. Dog friendly. Lots of goose poop everywhere so careful where you walk.

I've been to this park a couple of times and I loved how they had a older playground and a younger/gated toddler playground surrounded by sand. There's construction going on currently, and the playground is closed but there's still a number of basketball courts. There's two trails, in a giant live that go all the way down to Vasona park if you're willing to go that far! I really like walking the trails for now since the playground portion of the park is closed, and there's also a number of outdoor workout equipment with guidelines of how to do each work out posted around the outskirts of the smaller grassy area of the park before you start walking on the trail down to Vasona park.

New to the area looking for a spot to walk my dogs and feel safe alone. This checks all the boxes and is less than 2 miles away.

Campbell Park is a medium sized urban park located near the heart of downtown Campbell. There is a parking lot with about 20 spaces and angled street parking, so if it's not peak hours, you can find a spot to park. There are restroom facilities, a playground, large grassy areas, a walking trail, and the ever popular basketball courts. As of our visit yesterday, the playground is cordoned off with no indication as to when it will reopen. The park connects to the Los Gatos creek trail. The trail is paved and runs on both the east and west side of the creek with a bridge crossing about a mile into the trail from Campbell Park. There are a good number of walkers, bicyclists, and joggers. The creek is not terribly beautiful, but it's a little bit of nature in the concrete jungle which is Silicon Valley. On the East side of the trail, it runs parallel with the freeway so there is considerable traffic noise. On the West side are some older home and newer town homes on part of the trail. This may not sound ultra appealing, but it is a well maintained park, it feels safe, and has a lot of nice features. I also have brought my kiddos here a number of times through the years so it holds some fun memories.

The park is so beautiful. Perfect for jogging, hanging out, sitting on grace and benches. There is a trail to Los Gatos or San Jose. You can play basket ball Perfect for family picnic and the weather is good. I loved it and you will too

Lovely park. Came here for a group fitness class held by Fit Mama South Bay. This is a mommy and me stroller exercise group. The park was the perfect location for a jog around the park due to the size. The rest of the exercises were held at the basketball court.

New neighbor in town and this park is perfect for hikes and picnics. The basketball courts being open until 10pm is also a plus.

Ask the Community - Campbell Park

    Is parking free?

I believe it is free. That being said, or written, I always ride a bicycle there. Nonetheless, I've never seen a place to pay for parking. It is a nice park. You can take a super long walk along a paved path on both sides of the Los Gatos Creek.

Lots of grass, 3 or 4 basketball courts, bbq's, play sets, and the best part is the trail.

It's totally surrounded by apartments too, and I drove back and forth on the street for a while and realized there is absolutely zero street parking near the park. I thought I could go around to the other side of the park, but there is no "other side." It's completely hemmed in by a fence on all sides other than the street. I parked right out front near the park name sign (you could fit a whopping 3 cars in that space) but I'm not even sure it's legal because it kinda looks like a loading zone. Other than the parking, it's a nice little park. Plenty of shade and grass (saw a bunch of people with dogs). Small structure with two slides. Sounds like there used to be swings? There's a small section that is caution taped off. A few scattered picnic tables, half of which are in the shade. Some of the ground is the bouncy plastic turf (I have no idea what it's called, sorry) and some is tanbark. It's really perfect for my two year old on a hot day (the shade is excellent, covers the entire play structure, and the play structure, while small, is entertaining enough for her to spend quite a while). However, I'm not going to be back because it's totally inaccessible for people who don't live within walking distance. If I lived nearby, we would come all the time.

There is a 'loading zone' in the front which is essentially where we parked. It's a cute play area for young ones, with some tires to crawl through, one some playground, and a couple swings. Best for age 1-4 I'd say. I loved how lush the whole area area, and they did a lovely job landscaping a small patch of land. Apparently the land used to be an orchard. The whole place is nicely shaded with huge trees, there are little grass hills for kids to run up and down on, and a lovely little bridge, and even under the bridge the ravine is lush with clovers. I also liked the apple shaped seats! There are bathrooms and changing tables.

It just so happened to be right after Easter weekend and the plentiful garbage bins were 100% overflowing. With that said, the parks still came off quite tidy. Park visitors clearly made the effort to throw things away in appropriate areas and overflowed garbage bags were placed right along the bathroom building. City workers stopped by shortly after and BAM!! Everything was cleared and cleaned. Doerr Park comes recommended for children of all ages. There is a kiddy area and a more advanced play structure for the older kids in your life. The structure provides a lot of American Ninja Warrior vibes as opposed to your basic swing set and slide. 5/5 stars. This park is so bomb!!!
