Umm....not sure what else to say, but DELICIOUS!!!! Meals come with salsa chips and a creamy, tangy spicy sauce served when you sit at the table. Staff are very welcoming and serve you with a smile! I forgot to take pics of the meals we selected, but I ordered the steak Don Ruben and my husband ordered burrito fajitas. Both dishes were well worth the price. Also, ordered margarita presidential and sangria, which were also superb! I have high expectations with service and food quality....in other words, I'm not easily satisfied when it comes to eating out. I placed an order for pick up and the restaurant did not have control of the order and gave it away. I informed them this was a personal pickup that I paid for and the initial waiter (Armando) that responded just said too bad I don't know what to tell you someone picked it up, and walked away. Yet another restaurant in the "location of death" on Richmond Rd. Nothing survives there but I'm hoping 7 Mares breaks the curse. But I had heard some good things about 7 Mares so we decided to give it a try. It's nothing special at all I'm afraid. The decor has been updated which is good. There are an abnormal amount of TV and advertising screens in the restaurant. Unless I'm in a sports bar I don't want TV when I'm eating. And I definitely don't want a screen showing rotating ads! Got seated quickly. All of the servers seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but the restaurant. Not even a hint of smile - just eventually took our order and disappeared. My wife's margarita was very sweet and had next to no alcohol in it. Waste of money. When our food came the server brought four plates. Had no idea which plates were to go to our table and which to the next table. We had to straighten it out. The food itself was just average. Nothing special at all. We both had enchiladas which are difficult to screw up. One of my cheese enchiladas had almost no cheese. My wife's was overflowing. The chicken was tough and overcooked. Great food. Second time at this location and I can tell they are serving fresh food they are proud of. I had the 7 mares soup, it had all kinds of seafood including scallops, crab, fish, shrimp, mussels along with some veggies. Broth was very tasty and all the seafood was abundant and fresh. Also came with a side of rice and avocado. My wife had the birria tacos and they were also very good. Our server Anna was extremely attentive and welcoming. It's hard to find good service now days so it it refreshing when you receive it. Def gonna be our go to Mexican food. read more

We've eaten here once for lunch and have also gotten take-out. Parking great. We were seated right away. We ordered, then the owner came over and chatted with us. They are a family business and have been in the restaurant business for many years. Food was hot, very good and authentic. Generally better than some other local Mexican restaurants. Our other go to restaurant started going downhill so we decided to give 7Mares a try and haven't looked back since, we ABSOLUTELY LOVE it!! Best Mexican food! In addition to serving salsa with their chips while you wait, they also serve a creamy ranch that is amazing! The first time I ate there, I had so many chips with ranch that I was too full to finish my meal! I ordered the spinach & chicken enchiladas. Doesn't sound very Mexican does it? Well, this dish is the best I've ever tasted! It is full of cooked spinach at the bottom and generously filled with shredded chicken. The real gem of the dish, though, is the creamy spinach sauce on top! I just can't get enough of it! It's sooooo good! Try it with the side of rice! The rice is good on its own, but elevates to a new level with the spinach cream sauce! Staff is attentive, kind, and friendly. Portions are generous. Questionable exterior, but make sure to park on the not pot lot. Food was sensational! Portion sizes were generous and we definitely had leftovers. I highly recommend the street tacos and burrito bandera it was delicious and is a good dish to split. The staff was incredibly nice and polite! We come close to closing (they have good hours) and they were very accommodating. The artwork was interesting and was great to observe while eating the delicious and never ending supply of yummy chips. Music was fun. We will be back! read more

I was disappointed with my meal at 7 Mares. I found a bone in my chimichanga (glad I didn't give this to my son), the rice was mushy and seemed like it was from a box, the beans were without seasoning, just very underwhelming. I was raised in Southern California, and this food tastes like home My kids devour the Loaded Nachos, and my favorite is the Quesabirria Street Tacos.
