Our group came out because it was highly recommended by the resort we were staying at and it was nearby. The drinks were good but not as strong as I'd like. The food was amazing with great portions, hot (temperature-wise) and service was fast and friendly. The flavors are typical Mexican restaurant type. We would definitely come back next time we're in the area.

We were immediately seated upon arrival. We scanned the menu and was torn between some of the entrees. This restaurant typically like any other Mexican restaurant. However, I did have an issue of deciding what to order. So I chose the Jose Favorito which consisted of 5 Jumbo shrimp, 5 baby scallops and 4 pieces of chicken strips. The other dish was Monster quesadilla. Was it monster?? No it wasn't, it had beef, cheese, and tortilla inside it. The quesadilla was lacking flavor. Food came out quick as any other Mexican establishment. The service was good. The atmosphere was clean but their was a funky smell outside and in the restroom. The prices were on the pricey side to be lacking flavor. This is our 2nd trying this restaurant. Needless to say...I would not be returning.

Jose Tequilas Mexican Bar and Grill GOOD: Fun Festive atmosphere, great service, fresh chips BAD: On the pricey side for Mexican food and entrees fell a little flat I wanted to love Jose Tequilas - it's very festive and fun environment. The service is great and the table chips and very fresh and free. I found my entree flat on texture and flavor. I ordered a mix of things but it all tasted the same, not bad, just not moving, some what bland. Everything but the hard taco had a singular soft texture. My tips that really improved my food, work in the chips - save some and the dips for the entrees. Also, if you like spicy food, ask for some hot sauce. See the photos where I used the chips to make chicken enchilada nachos. I used the lemon from my drink to jazz the rice and the dips to create great flavors. I also recommend ordering a good balance of hard and soft items to really boost the experience. I would go again, I would just change the order a bit - worth a visit.

Fantastic! Immediately upon entering through the door was pleasantly greeted and escorted to a table. Then, within a few minutes I was served chips with salsa and a ranch-type dressing. The waiter then inquired about my drink order. Afterward, I informed him of my food order, Jose' Favorite. Later, I ordered Fried Ice cream. Both the drink and the entree were absolutely delicious! The fried ice cream was great, too! The service was attentive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. My only regret was there was no coffee.

We came to Jose Tequilas while visiting Williamsburg. The place is a fun Mexican style atmosphere. The service was really good. Free chips, salsa, and a white sauce (not sure, but decent). We ordered tableside guac, which made for a fun experience and some delicious guacamole and chips. As entrees we ordered enchiladas, tacos, and quesadillas. Everything was good.

The food was good. Wasn't amazing, but the drinks were tasty! The Birria was fresh and the consume had good flavor. The food came out HOT, which I appreciate. The bathrooms had a changing table; little dirty in the bathrooms but it did its job. Our server was nice and accommodating! We would come here for different items on the menu!

This is a great spot for Mexican food! The food was excellent, and our waitress was very attentive. The manager didn't seem as friendly, but I'm not sure if that was just an off moment. I'd definitely come back--overall, it was a fantastic lunch!

Huge portions (forgot to take picture), free chips and salsa plus some cream type dip. We' were a large table with kids. Drinks were always full, dinner came out fast, attentive service. Food was good.

Really fun place with great specials! We went on a Monday night and the margaritas are HUGE!! I opted for a sangria flight and it was delicious trying three distinct sangrias. My husband got an enormous mug of Miller lite. We enjoyed the fajitas but why is it every Mexican restaurant only gives you three tortillas? Great service, fun environment, highly recommend!

Food was definitely good. A nice lunch for me and the Mrs. Not a lot of people in when we sat down, food took a little longer than expected. Drinks were good.

The Mexican food here is nothing to write home about. Not very flavorful at all and almost subpar in general. White sauce was the most flavorful item we tried. Salsa was not that great. Beef burrito and sauce had no flavor or seasoning. Same with the sour cream chicken enchiladas. I expect to have some kind of flavor from them and it www just sour cream. We will not be returning as there are 10 other Mexican restaurants in the Williamsburg area. Service was quick and friendly.

Love this place. What a nice place to have lunch. Great portions and great service. Our waiter was super friendly and I loved the atmosphere. Family oriented.

So, let's find out how the visit went. There weren't a lot of people inside and there was only one waitress attending to tables. They have a bar area, tables and booths. We decided to eat near the entrance to their supermarket. It took a while for us to roam through the menu, but decided on what we wanted a few minutes after getting seates. I chose a 1/2 chicken with two sides (fried yucca and french fries). The Peruvian chicken was pretty good and flavorful. Both the fried yucca and fries could've been seasoned more, but were plentiful. I actually saved half of my meal for takeout and tasted well for dinner. Unfortunately, the bad part of our visit was the decor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which has seen better days. Seats at the booth are torn up.....literally. The tables are outdated. The floor is in pretty bad shape, especially near the bar area. And in the bathroom, the paper towel dispenser was not connected to the wall and instead, laying on the floor. It's not comfortable washing your hands and then turning it sideways where you can get paper. I really don't mean to sound mean,, but the decor alone would turn folks away. It needs a big renovation all around. Hopefully, down the road, they can upgrade or they may become a thing of the past :(

I would recommend trying this restaurant if you're visiting Williamsburg. I'm keeping this as a great review but one thing to mention and be mindful of, CHECK YOUR BILL FOR ACCURACY! Three out of the four of us thought it was intentional that out of the 4 margaritas we ordered, all the same when we ordered them, but on the bill one of them was charged as a monster size ($30.00) when it should've been $15.00. Also an extra soda was tacked on for another $5.00. (Yeah remember us??) Hopefully we're wrong about what we think, but we're from NY and are kinda in tune to that kind of crap lol.
