I have been to this place many times. They seem to have a high turnover rate with employees. I sat at the bar for happy hour. The waitress, who was very nice, got me the first beer. After that, my empty glass sat on the bar for 10 minutes and nobody ever asked me if I wanted a refill. They just kept walking by me. Our group came out because it was highly recommended by the resort we were staying at and it was nearby. The drinks were good but not as strong as I'd like. We were immediately seated upon arrival. We scanned the menu and was torn between some of the entrees. This restaurant typically like any other Mexican restaurant. However, I did have an issue of deciding what to order. So I chose the Jose Favorito which consisted of 5 Jumbo shrimp, 5 baby scallops and 4 pieces of chicken strips. The other dish was Monster quesadilla. Was it monster?? No it wasn't, it had beef, cheese, and tortilla inside it. The quesadilla was lacking flavor. Food came out quick as any other Mexican establishment. The service was good. The atmosphere was clean but their was a funky smell outside and in the restroom. The service is great and the table chips and very fresh and free. I found my entree flat on texture and flavor. I ordered a mix of things but it all tasted the same, not bad, just not moving, some what bland. Everything but the hard taco had a singular soft texture. My tips that really improved my food, work in the chips - save some and the dips for the entrees. Also, if you like spicy food, ask for some hot sauce. See the photos where I used the chips to make chicken enchilada nachos. I used the lemon from my drink to jazz the rice and the dips to create great flavors. I also recommend ordering a good balance of hard and soft items to really boost the experience. I would go again, I would just change the order a bit - worth a visit. read more

Fantastic! Immediately upon entering through the door was pleasantly greeted and escorted to a table. Then, within a few minutes I was served chips with salsa and a ranch-type dressing. The waiter then inquired about my drink order. Afterward, I informed him of my food order, Jose' Favorite. Later, I ordered Fried Ice cream. Both the drink and the entree were absolutely delicious! First, the service was great but the food was better. My wife had the fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp and it was very flavorful and filling. She loved it. I had the ribs and shrimp and could not eat the veggies and beans because I had to eat all the meat. I could not leave it and we were staying at a hotel and did not want leftovers. I ate a pound of meat and a very good rum and coke and I am still full several hours later. A must stop if you are ever in the Williamsburg area. read more

Everything was delicious- I actually boxed up half of my food for tomorrow. Went here for the first time today, and really enjoyed it. Food was particularly good, and everyone was very friendly. They have a very unique menu. I went in expecting all the standard Mexican restaurant items and nothing else, but they had some really unique things, both on the food menu and the drink menu. They have really put some thought into their menu. I am not someone who normally notices decor, but it really is interesting inside. In particular, I am enamored with the Lucha Libre elements of the decor. The only thing that was a sort-of, kind-of negative was that they had no lunch menu (or at least not on Saturday...or we just weren't given one). I was traveling and needed to spend the night in Williamsburg. Since I was by myself I didn't want to eat alone, so I got my order to go. I ordered a fried chicken chimichanga. I was told they would bring me my order when it was ready, so I sat on a bench inside and waited. After a while I started looking around and noticed my food was in a bag on a table, no one said it was ready or anything. I checked the receipt to make sure it was my order, grabbed it and left The chips tasted burned, and they didn't have any salt on them. I hoped the chimichanga would be better but I was sadly disappointed. The chimichanga wasn't fried at all, the tortilla was soggy, like a wet paper towel. The rice must have gotten the salt that was meant for the tortilla chips. And the shredded lettuce they packaged on the side was completely wilted and brown. After tip this meal cost me $20. I get times are tough during covid, but the restaurant was virtually empty and the staff (hostess and 2 other waitresses) were more interested in their own conversations...so it was not a matter of being slammed or under-staffed. We took the short walk to this place right from our hotel for dinner and it was absolutely popping in there! We were still seated immediately though and had water on the table ASAP. And a nice bonus was the large tray of complimentary chips with salsa AND FREE QUESO that they kept refilling all night, at least 4 times for our table of 6... they sure know how to keep the people happy here. Really large menu with many choices both meat and veg options alike, great drink menu, and some locally sourced produce and organic margaritas. You can get a margarita the size of your face here people, so if that's your jam get your booty to Jose Tequilas! Guacamole made tableside, sizzling make-your-own fajitas, great taco options and ginormous burritos! The burrito bowl with steak was delicious and the black beans and rice it comes with is so tasty! Sour cream and avocado slices do not cost extra and come on a lot of the meals. Great service, fun atmosphere, and good food to check out especially if you want some fun drinks! But what secured it was this: My nephew ordered an Old Fashion a very common drink that any good bartender should know how to make. Our server returned to our table very quickly to inform us that there regular bartender was not in and that they could try to make it but he'd rather give to option to order another drink before proceeding. My nephew ordered Johnny Walker Black neat. What I appreciated most was the honesty. Didn't try to fake it and then make excuses. He put the power of the choice in my nephew's hand. We started off with the Mango Frozen Margaritas, which were made perfectly, and enjoyed complimentary chips and salsa with an order of street corn for an appetizer. I ordered the Carnitas Michoacán, served with Mexican rice and beans, topped with grilled onions. The pork was cooked to perfection and had lots of flavor. My sister had the chicken and shrimp fajitas that came out sizzling hot. Our server was nice, efficient and shared great recommendations from the menu. All of the staff were friendly, the food was reasonably priced and the ambiance of the restaurant is relaxing and quite chill. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
